Albums splitting in Music Library

I've been importing my CDs to ITunes and have found that some of them get split up into several different groupings. I like them all displayed with their own CD artwork and most have imported fine and are listed this way. But three of them, for whatever reason, decided to divide themselves into several parts. For example: One of my Celine Dion CDs is shown/listed 4 times, each one has some music tracks next to it, but not all. One listing has 1, 2, 3 , 5, 7, 9, and 14. Another listing has 16, 8 and 4. The rest of the song tracks are in the other two listings. They are all divided up amoung the four listings. No repeats, they are just all divided up.A couple of my other CDs imported this way too. No duplicates of the song tracks, but they are all divided up and not under just one listing of their album. Why is this? How can I fix it and get all the tracks into the same CD listing?

Select all the songs on the same album, right click
and Get Info.
Retype the Album and Artist name.
Chris, Thanks for the reply. You are right...I sort of figured it out myself last night after I posted. It took several tries but I finally managed it. At first I didn't retype the name of the album or artist and that didn't work on all, but one or two jumped in. Then it occured to me that perhaps I needed to rename them all while selected as a whole. That worked, thank goodness! <G>
I do have one more thing I want to ask though. For now I am playing the songs on my computer with Itunes and I see that I can only "pause" the song selected, not "stop" playing altogether. Am I missing something, or isn't there a way to just stop the music?
I don't have an Ipod yet. I plan to possibly buy one next week. I think I've decided on the new Video one with 30 Gigs. I'm not into the whole video thing but thought that the extra space might be nice to store more music on. I have been importing my CDs and getting ready for the Ipod. Oh, another thing, when I import my CDs I have Itunes set to import them at a higher quality. I have it set on 192 kpbs. Hopefully they will sound very good on my Bose radios and the Bose car speakers. Do you know anything about that? The 128 kbps is the standard but I read that the 192 is higher quality and will sound better. At least that is what I think I got from reading the HELP files on Itunes. They mentioned a different format, ALL [Apple Lossless} instead of MP3, but with this format I don't think you can play the songs on devices other than the Ipod. Plus it takes up a huge amount of space. Is this correct?

Splitting my music library --part on my computer, part on an external HD

I currently am running out of memory on my laptop computer and need to move some of my music to an external hard drive. However, I would love to be able to retain about half of my music to the hard drive and leave half (the half I listen to most frequently) on my laptop. Maybe this is an easy question, but when I tried to move music folders a while back, I really messed up my library.

I recommend using two library ITL files for this.
One ITL would be all your content, all stored on your exHD. That ITL file itself should also be on the exHD, so you can only open it when the exHD is attached to the laptop. You'd use these directions to consolidate the library to the exHD, but skip steps 11 & 12. A word of advice, name the exHD something pretty far down in the alphabet like M: so Windows doesn't change it on you when you plug something else into a USB port.

The second ITL file would be on your laptop's ITL C: drive. It would start out being the entire library, but then you'd delete the songs you don't want on your laptop.

I am unalble to delete unplayable albums from my music library on my iPhone 4S. Any suggestions?

I downloaded music that was unplayable but I was unable to remove or delete the album. I had no difficulty removing other music. The unplayable music remains regardless of the steps I take to try to delete it. Looking for suggestions. Thank in advance.

Do it directly from your phone. Go to Music App, swipe left on the song to bring up a Red Delete button. Tap to delete.

When i import a compilation cd how do i get all the tracks into one album in the music library. They are currently listed as individual tracks or albums.

Generally all you need to do is fill in an appropriate Album Artist. For a compilation use Various Artists and also set Part of a compilation to Yes on the Options tab of Get Info.

It would be nice if you told others the steps you've tried and/or how you used to have your setup.
Anyway have you tried tapping MORE this will then bring you to
the selection-list of Audiobooks, Genres, Compilations & Composers.
Selecting Genres gives you a list of all your music split into genres which was set within the Music downloaded via iTunes or uploaded from CD or which you may have set yourself.
Then you just select the Genre you want:
If certent songs are not correctly gategorised you may need to go into iTunes and reselect via Get-info
>Info>Genre and change it there. That way you should end up with all songs of Jazz or other in 1 place.

Added albums to iTunes, but they do not show up in the Music Library view.

They don't show up at all or they don't show up where you expect them to?
The iTunes Library is divided into a number of sources, Music, Podcasts, Books etc. Each file added ends up in just one of these sources depending on its *Media Kind* plus any playlists for which it has matching criteria.
Settings such as *Part of a Compilation, Sort Artist* or *Sort Album Artist* can make albums appear in an unexpected location within Music.

I check artists or albums to sync to my iphone and it says it syncs but then does not show up on my phone's music library. HELP

So, I'm trying to sync all my Jason Mraz to my iPhone. On iTunes, after I plug in my iPhone to my MacBookPro, on the iPhone tab I check the artist "Jason Mraz." I then sync my phone. I goes through the process then when I check the music library on my iPhone nothing shows up. I then try the same procedure with checking each individual album. Same thing. I tried turning the phone off and on to see if it would show up after I did that, and still nothing. Please help me!!

Un-sync all your music to remove it from the device, then restart (hold down the home button along with the sleep/wake button until you see the apple, then let go). Now re-sync your music.

I just got my dads old iPhone 4. I restored it to factory settings and set it up with my apple id. The albums in my music are fine in iTunes but on my phone the albums are split and each song is its own album. Does anybody know how to fix this?

Everything has downloaded fine but I have had many problems with my music. First it was where my phone didnt recognise my apple id, but I figured that out. Then it was where iTunes took one of my albums and split it so all the songs where their own albums. I fixed the album split on iTunes but its still like that on my iPhone. I have looked online everywhere and I still haven't found a solution! I'm getting super frustrated! Does anybody know how to fix this?

No it's not stealing. They have an allowance that you can share with so many computers/devices. You'll have to authorize her computer to play/use anything bought on your acct. You can do this under the Store menu at top when iTunes is open on her computer.
As far as getting it all on her computer....I think but I am not sure (because I don't use the feature) but I think if you turn on Home Sharing in iTunes it may copy the music to her computer. I don't know maybe it just streams it. If nothing else you can sign into your acct on her computer and download it all to her computer from the cloud. Not sure exactly how to go about that, I haven't had to do that yet. I wonder if once you authorize her computer and then set it up for automatic downloads (under Edit>Preferences>Store) if everything would download. Sorry I'm not much help on that.

I think I've been hacked? A few days ago my phone asked for my Apple ID and I entered it not thinking anything of it and now I've just been in my music library and there is a whole album of songs by an artist that I have never heard of? Help?!

Basically my iPhone 4 asked for my Apple ID and I entered it thinking it was just some check or something and then I've just been scrolling through my music library and there is a whole U2 album there and i have never even heard of U2... i clicked on one of the songs to see what it was and it came up with "This device is already associated with an apple ID. If you download past purchases with your apple ID, you cannot auto download or download past purchases with a different Apple ID for 90 days."
I Can't delete the album like I can with my other music from my phone and I don't really want to connect my phone to my laptop incase I have been hacked and it could give the person all access to my phone?

Windows 7 Music Library doesn't show some of my album art all of a sudden. No solutions found!!

So my music files in my music folder on the computer still doesn't show the album art. some of the art covers still exist on the music files but newly downloaded and some music files that existed don't show the album art anymore.
I've tried most of the solutions online but none of them solved the problem. I don't think it's the media player because when I play it on the media player it shows the album art for the music. And I also cleared the cashe in the mediaplayer folder. There
must be something with the system because the folder showed the cover art before but all of a sudden it stopped displaying them.
I don't know what's wrong with it...is there something that makes the music album art not show all of a sudden and the album art doesn't show for the newly downloaded music as well...

It may be a problem of Windows 7 Explorer. First you can try all the different explorer views, title, Large icon..
If there is no effect, you can try to the following methods.
In Windows Explorer
1. left click on the mail folder where your music is stored and select it.
2. Now right click and go to “properties”.
3. Now click “advanced”.
4. Put a check in the “Allow files in this folder to have contents indexed in addition to file properties”.
5.Click ”OK”.
6.Click”Apply”.
7. Click “OK” to apply changes to this folder. Sub folders and files.
Now go to your music library and see if it works.

How do I stop Genius from recommending songs and albums that are already in my iTunes music library?

With greater and greater frequency, Genius is recommending songs and albums that are already in my music library. Up to 80% of the recommendations!. I am hesitant to give these suggestions a thumbs down, as I like the songs (afterall, I own them) and don't want to give the impression that I don't like the artist, genre, etc. as I appreciate how Genius works, when it does work.
I have updated Genius and updated iTunes Match, to no avail.
This quirk -- recommending music already in my library -- used to be a rare event. Now, most of the recommendations I get are for music I already own.
How can I fix this?

To be a little bit more accurate the said book sits in my Documents on my Macbook, purchased through iTune for free in iTunes Store>Books. I can find it with Finder on my Macbook. It says it is in my Documents but it does not appear in the Documents folder in my Dock. Great! Even the iTunes Store says it is downloaded already. And why when I search for it with Finder on my Mac and click on the result does a window open up full of comoter language? I need some help.
