Albums that aren't compilations, sorted as compilations...

Some albums that I downloaded for some reason are put in the compilations section of my iPod and I don't know why. I've tried going to the compilations folder and moving them out, but it still stays in the compilations section on my iPod...
help please?
P.S. Sorry if this may be in the wrong section.

To do this, select all the songs that you want to NOT be included in the compilation and select Get Info from the file menu and select No in the Compilation menu.
It is the opposite of the directions in this article:

Photo stream/Photo albums that aren't mine need removing!

The company I work for has 4 iPhones on one account. My supervisor purchased all the phones at the same time, my phone & my supervisors phone specifically were set up with the same apple ID until I was able to take the time and set up my own (which was later done). Basically, her pictures and multiple albums were sycned onto my phone. Now having my own apple ID I am unable to delete the extra photo library, and 6 photo albums from my device and we are unable to find these albums to remove them from her iCloud or iTunes account in hopes it will remove them from my phone. I am unable to do any updates, I have virtually no data/storage for any of my stuff because all of hers is taking up the room, and facetime won't work anymore due to me being I believe 2 updates behind! I have NO idea what to do other than to go to an Apple store, which I really don't want to do OR get a new phone all together and set it up correctly from the get go. Help??

So I can't plug her phone into a computer at our office and remove them? I HAVE to login to the laptop she originally backed the pics up in/ set up the iTunes account with to remove them?

How can I sort albums by album artist while keeping compilations together?

Argh, I'm getting a bit exasperated. Basically I just want to be able to scroll through cover flow and see all my albums with one cover representing each album, with all the compilations near the end under "V" for various. Surely most people would want to scroll through their albums in this way??
So I've gone through and added all the album artist info, which has worked fine for the artist albums. But for all the "Various" ones, instead of doing the logical thing and grouping them together by album, iTunes orders these all by track artist. There doesn't seem to be any secondary sort function..
I'm always defending Mac and Apple products for their logical applications and ease of use, and now I feel let down.. If there's a way around this please let me know! Thanks,

The trouble you're encountering is that iTunes sorts first by Album Artist, then by Artist. Thus, within each Album Artist, you'll get multiple Artist clumps.
You want to sort "Album by Artist". This will, first, strip out all your compilations and sort them to the end of your library, then sort using the hierarchy Album Artist (or Artist if there is none) > Album > Disc # > Track #. Click the Album column header until Album by Artist is displayed. (You can also choose Album by Year, which will sort albums chronologically within Album Artist.)
If you want to keep albums together, you'll need to sort on an Album column; other columns are bound to clump things by whatever you're sorting on.

4th - While trying to use the "fast lane" i ran into trying to find the product S/N, I went to my account and it was not there. I tried to see it on the back of the Ipod but had to find a magnifying glass to even read it.

I agree with stevejobsfan - (0123).
However, if what you actually want to do is to fix/sort out your problem, why no try posting a question on that subject?
For starters - you can re-name the tracks in your iTunes library, so it is possible to correct the changes that you must have made that mean that songs are now "unknown artists and albums."

AppleTV and compilations that aren't really compilations

In my iTunes library on the Mac, I have a number of greatest-hits-type albums that used to be marked as compilations. I unmarked them quite some time ago, and cleaned up my library in other ways, and I now have that working just the way I want it. Problem is, on the AppleTV which is sync-ed to that library, quite a few of these still appear under Compilations.
I have read through other forum posts that have a problem with compilations not being treated exactly the same way between the AppleTV and iTunes. That's not quite my concern here. I wonder how I can get the AppleTV to recognize that these albums are not compilations at all.

I have songs that are part of compilations. I don't care and I don't see the point of removing the compilations check mark because the songs show up under Artist and Albums.
I select one song in a compilation to see what happens with removing the compilation check mark.
1. I open the compilation on the AppleTV and see the song there with others.
2. I selected the song on my iMac itunes and removed the compilation check mark.
3. Looked on the AppleTV and it was still in the compilation.
4. Went out to the menu and back to My Songs and Compilations and it was still there.
5. Back at my iMac selected sync
6. Looked on the AppleTV and it was still in the compilation.
7. Went out to the menu and back to My Songs and Compilations and it was no longer there.
The song is not listed in the compilations but still shows up in Artists and Albums.
In my iMac iTunes I use custom sync for the AppleTV, and in the Music tab I have selected Sync Music and Selected Playlists, Artists, and Genres.

Selecting Gapless album does not make it gapless. (which is likely that now this option is removed - to not confuse people)
The ONLY thing that option did was tell iTunes to NOT crossfade consecutive songs from same gapless album IF you had crossfade enabled.

Setting the gap to 0 is what made it "seem" gapless.
Perhaps it is not working as it used to.
Try a slower burn speed.
and used itunes to convert them to mp3
Dont know why they suggest this.
Simply use the WAV file. Then there will be no loss (as there is when converted to MP3).

How can you sort an album that was released in 2007 but has 80s music on

I have v8 of iTunes, almost completed all my tagging how I want it in iTunes for all my music
I have a query though, I have a 80s, 90s smart playlist.
I have recently got an album that was released in 2007, so the year in my library is 2007, however all the music on that album is from the 80s.
So can you tag with 2 years, ie Album release date and song release (original date) or can you sort the album to show its songs from the 80s.
Someone must have the same issue, especially from compilation albums

A "for" expression that does not compile

This is a for loop from a snippet of code that does not compile in my J2SE 1.4.2 environment:

Can someone tell me what it means and what the 1.4.2 equivalent is?

I mean, is there an option that enables it?Yes and No... That is, yes using the 5.0 ( 1.5.0 ) beta 2, you can compile to 5.0 ( 1.5.0 ) to 1.4 using the -source and -target switches using 1.4 features only...
but if you use 5.0 ( 1.5.0 ) features, it will not compile to 1.4 , it will give you an error stating that the feature is not supported by 1.4...
So your code snippet would need to be re-written to 1.4 code to work with 1.4.x JVMs ...
Here is an example of the For-Each aka Enhanced For loop written in 5.0 ( 1.5.0 ) beta2 :

Getting error message "invalid formaula that cannot be compiled"

Hi,
I have installed SAP Crystal Report Viewer 2008, when tries to open output file that has RPT extension, getting error message "this report contains invalid Crystal Reports formulas that cannot be compile".
It seems it requires some DLL files that we already have but we dont know where to place it on SAP Crystal Report Viewer program files folder.
Please help me in resolving this error.

If the report contains formulae that reference UFLs then it will Not work in the CR Viewer.
Following are the kind of reports that don't work with the free (standalone) CR Viewer per this SAP Note:
1. Reports that have no saved data, unless they are being accessed online from BusinessObjects Enterprise and you have the appropriate rights.
2. Reports that use Business Views as a data source.
3. Reports that use universes as a data source. (Static instances of reports that use universes will open if these reports are downloaded from BusinessObjects Enterprise.)
4. Reports that use Crystal Dictionaries as a data source.
5. Reports that use Crystal Queries as a data source.
6. Reports that depend on UFLs
7. Reports that are successfully using "Perform Grouping on Server". (That is, the generated report SQL contains a "group by" clause.)

What changed in v32, that makes emscripten compiled JS code awfully slow?

Today I updated to v32.0.1 of Firefox. I'm currently working on the JS version of our face tracking library (Beyond Reality Face), that is emscripten compiled code. In v31 I got 36 FPS, while in v32 and v33 (beta) I got 10 to 12 FPS.
Does anyone know, if there was a change, that could course that slowdown?

Edit: After a lot more of testing I got:
Emscripten + Google Closure Compiler (--compilation_level 'SIMPLE')
seems to generate something, that Firefox v32 handles differently than v31 (and thus slower). Must be something basic, like Array access or whatsoever.

Grouping songs into one album that are featuring someone else

Trying to clean up my iTunes library. Some on my albums that I have ripped to my iMac have songs on the same album, but feature one or more other artist. I'd like to find out the easiest way to get those songs into the same album group that they are from. I've done one so far and edited the artist to just the original album artist, but I'd like to be able to see who else is on the track if possible. Sort of knitpicking but that's me, thanks!!!

Quick answer: Select all the tracks on the album, File > get info, and either give them all a single "album artist", or check the "compilation" flag (as in https://discussions.apple.com/message/17670085). You can leave the artist there. Album artist will force it to sort by that.
If these are from multiple-CD sets you may also need to enter the appropriate information in the disc number fields.
