Hi,
Try the fixit from Microsoft on the link below.
http://support.microsoft.com/mats/?DiagID=100010&EulaAccept=Yes
If this doesn't help, try the procedure below.
From the Start Menu, open the Control Panel and click on Device Manager.  Click to open the Sound Video and Game Controllers tree, then right click on the Realtek HD Codec and select uninstall.  Do not delete drivers if asked.
Restart your PC and let Windows re-install the device.
Hope this helps.

  • ALC888S Realtek Driver Update?

    Hello,
I have put a lot of work into perfecting my PC's video and audio over the last 2 years, the PC in question is a HP p6313w.
I had installed a powerful graphics card to the computer, equipped surround sound and the whole lot.
One of the things I had done, one day I got a wild hair and decided to update all of my drivers. Video and audio to be exact.
In this process, due to not knowing where to go, I had picked up a single trojan, which my AV had easily cleared without issue.
Also I had messed up my sound in fact and had to default back to the original.
Given the way I am with tinkering around on computers, I kept going, and eventually found a new driver for my soundcard.
In this new edition, instead of having a list of equalizer styles to choice from, I had a full blown equalizer I could customly tone and adjust. After playing with it daily over the course of several months, I had absolutely perfected it. Had amazing bass and amazing treble that sounded entirely lifelike.
With this said, I turned it off, and tried my old style of equalizer I had selected months back, and it was so fake sounded I could not stand it, as my custom toned equalizer was much, much better.
I have never had any problems with my computer, only that I had gathered so much on it over the years I decided to clean it.
Instead of doing each individual program one by one, I backed up EVERYTHING onto a terabyte USB HDD. One of the things I could not back up was this updated driver.
I rebooted and set things back up. Everything is running smooth as always (Freaking Love HP computers).
I entered a game and then heard the sound, and shrieked, I had forgot to get the driver update.
I have always been happy with my speakers and their sound, but after hearing what an equalizer customized to fit my own ear could do, I can I never go back to the basic driver.
The problem is, I have absolutely no idea where to find it this time, as it took me days to last time.
My PC is a HP p6313w.
My soundcard is a Realtek ALC888S HD audio model.
The current driver is dated as 9/15/2009 and the version is 6.0.1.5938. This is basic and default.
Can someone please, please point me to a later version than 6.0.1.5938?
I have checked the Realtek website, perhaps I am simply lost in their directories, but I could not even find a driver for it.
And I have went to Sound, Opened my driver properties, and then the additional properties, and as before "Update Driver" and "Roll Back Driver" are greyed out. Yet, I some how found an updated version than what I have before a long time ago. So I DO know it exists, and I do know the "Update Driver" button is not how I obtained it.
Can anyone point me towards a newer version than up above? My sound currently I can live without having brain hemoraging, but I still do not like it. To me this is necisary and I only ask for someone to point me to a new driver.
The reason for the last statement, I have read on multiple sites, plenty of people refusing to help people who want a newer, better version stating "If it works --YOU-- do not --NEED-- an update, suck it up and live with it." as a general tone in what is said to that person.

    Hi:
if you want the latest Realtek HD audio driver, you can download it at the link below. Accept the agreement and download the file for the OS you are running.
The driver is good for most, if not all of their HD audio chips.
    http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/downloadsView.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=24&PFid=24&Level=4&Conn=3&DownT...
The product specs for your PC indicate it shipped with W7 x64.
If that is correct, download and install the second driver on the list.

  • When Other Realtek Driver Packages Fail...

There have been a number of posts, where problems with APE have been solved
by reloading the REALTEK audio interface drivers.
When Other Realtek Driver Packages Fail...
    try this one:
    AUD_ALLOS_XP_VISTA_5377_PV_REALTEK.EXE
    from:
    http://downloadcenter.intel.com/download.aspx?url=/11597/eng/UAA.zip&DwnldId=11597&lang=en g
This is actually a composite of a number of fixes and updates from both
Realtek and Microsoft. It is especially useful when other driver packages,
including the current High Definition Driver package from Realtek's site,
    fail to load properly.
Errors addressed include red and yellow error flags on the high definition
audio driver entry in XP's device manager, and a PCI device that won't load
a driver because an appropriate driver can't seem to be found.
I ran into these problems when trying to upgrade an existing
fully-configured XP system to a new motherboard. The audio driver provided
by the motherboard vendor wouldn't load, and neither would the
    latest-greatest one from Realtek's site.
As always, if your system is working OK right now, don't try to fix it!

Though not specific to Realtek chips, there is also a little add-on, that has saved a lot of people with all flavors or Premiere, Audition and SounBooth - the freeware ASIO4All. This applet installs and sets up an ASIO environment that by-passes some of the problem areas encountered when trying to set up Audio with just the chip/card's driver. Once installed, it will appear in the ASIO settings list, or drop-down, depending on program. One has to point to it for all ASIO interfaces. Do not forget any other programs with Audio, such as Audacity, Magix Music Studio, etc.

  • Realtek driver for Hp pavillion

I wanted to download a new sound driver for my HP Pavillion Dv5 1050 tx notebook  but I wanted the realtek driver. does this notebook support that driver? I tried downloading from realtek but it wouldnt work. I currently have IDT audio as my current default sound driver but the serio mix doesnt work both ways . I would appreciate if anyone can help me with this?
    Thanks

No, your model use IDT chip, Realtek driver wont work.
About stereo mic issue, so sorry to let you know that feature has been crippled to fit RIAA requirements.
You need to buy external USB sound card to get it working.
    Pavilion DV2922TX, XP-SP3 32bit, Intel T5750 2.0Ghz, Nvidia Geforce 8400M GS with 128MB, 4GB 667 DDR2, 250GB HDD

  • BC 3.0 Realtek driver thinks headphone jack is line in (iMac)

The computer in question is an iMac from the previous generation (Radeon 2400).
I noticed some other people having problems with external speakers, and I think I've pretty much figured out that the Realtek driver thinks the headphone jack on this computer is an input.
Anyone have a solution besides rolling back?

Yes, I had the same problem.
Then I installed the Realtek from Boot Camp 2.1 in compatibility mode under Windows XP.
Then he returned to work well!

    Hi, Martin:
You need to go into your BIOS (Tap the F10 key at the HP splash screen). Enter your BIOS menu and if it has a device configuration menu or something like that, you need to find the menu for your onboard audio setting.
It is probably set to Auto. You need to change that setting from where it is now, to Enabled. Save the setting there and when you exit the BIOS.
Now your onboard sound should work and your HDMI sound should work.

  • Windows 7 Combo Jack Realtek driver problem s510p

I'm running Windows 7 on an Ideapad s510p, but the realtek drivers (downloaded from the s510p downloads page) sees one audio input, but thinks it is a headphone out only:
There were a couple of topics with kind of similar problems like this where people got recommended to use an adapter for both. I ordered one but that does not solve the problem, it seems to me that it is a driver problem. I tried the drivers from the s510p downloads page and also from the realtek drivers but both give the same problem, is there any way to fix this?

Okay, I solved the problem. Turns out I was installing the wrong driver from the Realtek website.
The correct driver for VB in my installation is for the AC'97 audio controller.
    It is located at:
    http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/downloadsCheck.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=23&PFid=23 &Level=4&Conn=3&DownTypeID=3&GetDown=false#AC
    I have sound now!

  • Realtek driver install success

I eventually succeeded in installing Realtek audio drivers on my Presario SR1913WM.
At first the drivers wouldn't install at all.  Then most of my tray icons wouldn't appear (unless I logged off and logged back on; [They are not 'hidden when inactive'. I set automatic logon, and not an uncommon issue; it is a fresh install of XP Pro sp3]).
Here's what I did, in case someone else might benefit from this.
    *Details*
I tried many different install methods.  After each try I restored a backup image.
I've tried 5 different driver versions, each with and without UAA.  Various error messages.  Safe mode doesn't help.
I used this UAA: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=ob-45977-2&cc=us&lc=en&dlc=en&... Microsoft Universal Audio Architecture (UAA) Bus Driver for High Definition Audio (sp33566)
    The 5 driver versions:
    (1, 2, and 3 didn't work.  4 and 5 mess up tray icon display.)
1 & 2:  The 2 most recent "HD Audio Codec Driver" from the Realtek site (WDM_R242.exe and WDM_R243.exe). Whether or not I have installed UAA, both 1 & 2 give same Error message:  "Install Realtek HD Audio Driver Failure !!  [Error Code: 0x00000005]"
3:  The version here: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=ob-40480-1&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&... "2006 Original Realtek High Definition Audio Drivers"  Whether or not I have installed UAA, the error message says:  "Your system does not have Microsoft's Universal Audio Architecture (UAA)...You must install this driver..."
4 & 5:  The version(s) Windows gets online via Microsoft Update and the Hardware Update Wizard.  These are the methods that work, but messed up tray icon display.  Until I tried the Microsoft Update method about a dozen times, and it finally worked.
    Hope this helps someone!

    Hello e-van and welcome,
If you haven't done so already, the first to install is the Intel chipset driver from the support page - it installs a bunch of .inf files telling windows how to treat the hardware.
Then everything should work ... hopefully

  • Realtek Driver Upgrade

I have a Toshiba Satellite A-105 laptop running Windows XP with the Realtek HD sound driver.  The problem is I have no access to Stereo Mix.  I've updated the driver with the most current release but still no Stereo Mix.
My question is this:  Is it possible to upgrade to a new sound driver that will give that capability?

    Hi
    Thanks for post.
As per your concern you need to uninstall the audio and graphics driver and afterwards please viisit the mentioned below web link to download and install graphics driver first and then install the audio driver.
    http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/default.page?
After this, please restart the notebook and check wether the issue resolved.

  • Confused On: Updating to the latest Realtek Driver (realtek_hd_xp_mb.zip)

    My Board: MSI K9VGM-v (MS-7253)
I downloaded the zip file (realtek_hd_xp_mb.zip) from MSI's website to update my driver to the latest version for my board (v5.10.0.5713).
A couple things are confusing me...
    1. Does it matter where I unzip this file to or is it all deleted after I am done (the unzipped files only/temp folder)?
    2. The readme file tells me the first thing to do to update my driver is to insert my "Realtek HD Audio Drivers" CD into the CD-ROM" and run setup. WELL... The only driver CD I got with my computer is an MSI Drivers & Utilities CD. Is this what they are talking about?
    3. Or is there something else I should know? Like am I supposed to unzip that zip file (realtek_hd_xp_mb.zip) ONTO/BURN a CD and run it like that? I mean the instructions are not clear at all for something that might corrupt the hell out of my system.
Any suggestions? Anyone have any experience with doing this in the past?

    1 and 3 ==> No
    2 ==> Skip that part.
If current driver works OK, leave it as is.
Else just run the setup.exe from realtek_hd_xp_mb.zip downloaded from MSI web and extracted somewhere.

  • Safe to downaload Realtek driver updates from Realtek or should I stick to HP updates only?

So I have an HP-083uk - specs are here:- http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01946060&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=uk&site=null&lang=en&p...

Is it safe to install Realtek drivers or should I stick to HP drivers or should I look to MSI (my mobo manufacturer) for audio drivers?

    Hi:
You should be fine using the Realtek drivers from their site. I use them all the time, and recommend to others to use them when they have issues--especially pertaining to audio issues post upgrading to Windows 7.
This is the driver page you need to get the drivers for your PC from Realtek.  Accept the agreement, download and install the driver for your OS.

  • MS-7623 Realtek Driver update misreported by Live Update 5

Live update consistently says that my Realtek PCIE network driver needs to by updated from 7.037.1229.2010 to 7.53.216.2012. I've checked the driver through Windows 7 -and it reports that the correct driver is installed (version 7.53.216.201). Is there some way to fix Live Update 5? Is it looking in the wrong place in Windows 7?

Best way to fix Live Update is remove from your PC and don't use it. If you need updated drivers or BIOS or any such thing then manually download from either MSI website or chip manufacturers websites and install yourself..

  • No audio in Win 7 K9N4 SLI (MS-7325) with latest Realtek driver

I am running an K9N4 SLI (MS-7325) motherboard and cannot get sound to play in Windows 7 or Ubuntu 11.10. In Win 7, my driver is: 6.0.1.6305
Windows says there are no conflicts and everything is fine but I don't hear anything out of my headphone. Any ideas or direction? Thanks!

Thanks for the replies... I have not tried reverting to an older driver since the only drivers available on the official website are only for Windows 2000 and older. According to the current driver, I have it in the Line Out jack on the back... I do not have any jacks in the front for line out audio.
