ALE Configurations in File to IDOC Scenario

Hi All,
We are doing File to IDOC Scenario.
ALE Configurations done:
R/3 Side:
1. Created RFC dest, pointing to XI and tested the connection for remote login to XI.
2. Created port in R/3(using automatically generated port name) and assigned the RFC dest created above.
3. Created partner profile and assigned the ports to the message types.
4. Created Logical system
XI side:
1.  Created RFC dest, pointing to XI and tested the connection for remote login to r/3.
2. Created port using IDX1 transaction with port name starting with SAP<SID> and assigned the RFC dest created above. (SID of XI)
<b>3. Unable to load metadata in XI.</b>
Now we are unable to test the scenario as it provides an error message in MONI as "<b>Error: Transaction IDX1: Port SAP<SID>, client , RFC destination contain errors</b>".
Also Let me know whether the steps mentioned above are correct for the scenario.

Nithiyanandam

  • Alert Configuration for File to IDoc scenario

    I have followed Alerts : Step-by-Step /people/michal.krawczyk2/blog/2005/06/28/xipi-faq-frequently-asked-questions
and configured Alerts for file to IDoc scenario.
But the problem is, I did not notice any alerts being generated. I could notice the IDocs being posted to destination system. So I was going through Alerts-Troubleshoute Guide. In intension to maintain monitoring level, I clicked Configuration tab. But I did not notice my sender and receiver system there to maintain.
Can any body help me to detail out the procedure to add sender and receiver systems to maintain the monitoring level?
    Regards,
    Suraj Kumar

    hi Suraj,
WHich SP version are you on??
If you are on Sp14 or above, then unfortunately, Michal's Trouble Shooting for Alerts will not help.
From SP14 onwards, activation of end to end monitoring is not needed for Alerting. Refer to this note <b>870232</b> for this info.
Next, to test if your Alerts have been defined correctly, go to SE38. In the program , type RSALERTTEST and then click on EXECUTE button ( F8 ). In the next window, it will ask you for your ALERTCATEGORY. Just give the name of your ALERT CATEGORY and click EXECUTE.
If you have configured your alerts correctly, you will receive a message that tells ALERT IS GENERATED and will give the ALERT ID.
Now, go to your Run TIme workbench and then select ALERT INBOX and see if you have got the ALERT message in your ALERT INBOX.
If this is working fine, then the last step, implement the note 913858.

  • Not sure if IDoc was created or received in file to idoc scenario

    Hi,
I configured a file to idoc scenario in my test client for idoc MATMAS.MATMAS02 , now after going thru all the phases of design and configuration and creating partner profile using we20 , when I m executing the scenario , I am not sure wht happened to the idoc becz i can't see in the R/3 system using we05/02 or BD87 in the XI system .
Pl help how to rectify the error and find out where the error has actually occured.
    ans will be rewrded
    rgds
    mojib

    Hi Mojib,
first check in SXMB_MONI whether you have a success chequered flag for the file messge.................if there is error here, then rectify your this error and re-run your scenario................if you cannnot see your file msg in SXMB_MONI, then go to RWB and in comm channel monitoring, see the error in sender file comm channel status and rectify the error in sender file comm channel in ID and save and activate it and then re-run your scenario............
then execute SM58 to see in there is anything in tRFC.........if there is not anything here, then it means your IDOC has reached R/3.................
then in R/3, execute WE05 for the relevant period, then you will see your IDOC there with some status..........

  • File to IDOC scenario not working

I have configured a file to idoc scenario and kept the XMl file in a shared location on XI server.
I have also created and checked the communication channels correctly.
Once Everything is done my xml file does not get picked up at all. Also the SXMB_MONI does not show any messages for my service.
How do I find out what is the error ??

    Hi Kapil,
Just check the File path that was in shared location once and the file name is properly mentioned or not..
And also one thing after activating all IR and ID just goto SXI_CACHE and press <b>F6</b> to update cache refresh
And also in RWB --> Message Monitoring --> Adapter monitoring --> check the status of the sender

  • Partner Profile for file to IDOC scenario

    Hi experts,
I am doing file to Idoc scenario. I did the ALE configuration steps between XI and r/3. For sender (ThirdParty) system, I defined Business system. While defining partner profiles in WE20 I got confused, whether to Give XI logical system Name or Third party logical system name. Please clarify..........
    Thanks
    Manoj

    Hi,
    >>I defined Business system. While defining partner profiles in WE20 I got confused, whether to Give XI logical system Name or Third party logical system name. Please clarify..........
in most cases you will only use one logical system in WE20
this will be XI's logical system - and you can route all the traffic
via this logicail system - this is the most popular case
for more about IDOCs and XI have a look at my book:

  • Problem with Sender service in File to IDOC scenario

    Hello All,
Am doing a file to IDOC scenario.
I have configured the sending system as a party and added a business component, to the BC attached the service interface and also configured the sender Communication channel(CC) as file.
On the receiving end configured the R/3 system from SLD as the business system and configured the receiver CCl. Can see the R/3 logical system in the Adapter specific identifiers at business system.
Pushing the file get an error "Unable to convert the sender service  to an ALE Logical System".  But choosing "Take sender from Payload" in the receiver CC is resolving the problem, however the sender partner number remains the same as what I have mapped to the control record in message mapping (which is like hard coding).
    My questions are:
    1. Am I doing the correct config in terms of the scenario. (like using  "Take sender from Payload")
    2. I tried using identifiers at the party level to convert the sending system, but nothing seems to work. But sending system remains the same as the constant from mapping.
Suggestions would be very much helpful..

PS: Have gone through many blogs and posts on the forums, but may be I did not see the correct thread. Apologies if I am asking this again.

can any one plz say wat this error might be..
    TIA
    Regards,
    Raj

    Hi,
The problem occurs when sender and receiver business system or business service does not have a logical system name.
    ID - Integration Directory
Posting the IDOC'S into SAP R/3 System, sender and receiver business system or business service requires the logical system name. If the business system (Web As ABAP) does not have the logical system name, then add the logical system for business system.
If business system type = Web AS ABAP, then add the Logical system in Technical System level and Save.
If business system type = Third-Party, then add the logical system in business system level and Save.
If the business service does not have the logical system name in ID, it needs to be configured as follows.
Go to ID and click the Business service -> Services -> Adapter Specific Identifiers. Enter the logical system name and Save.
    Apply and activate.
    hope this will help you.

  • File to idoc scenario in pi 7.1

    Hi All,
I am testing file to Idoc scenario.
I have few queries. I am using PI 7.1
    1) in Message mapping - I import the receiver idoc metadata. and doing mapping.
So there are couple of mandatory fields over there. Please let me know how to treat them. Do I need to diable them or put some value. for exp Direct, Segment. SNDPRN RECPRN all these madatory fields are there. Please advice.
    2) When I am creating communication component for sender side(File system) then should I assign the logical port and if then what name it can be . Is there any other place we need to maintain this entry. I remember in PI 7.0 I dont need to assign the local name. But here i see I need to do. if I am not putting the name over there then it throw error message "Unable to convert the sender service <Business Compoenetname> to an ALE logical system.
    Please advice how to overcome
    3) now any how I am able to process the idoc from PI and its coming to ECC system. but it showing failed over there and giving me error message.
"EDI: Partner profile inbound not available"
I checked all the relevent partner prfile configuration is already there"
I have already used all the forums , I did these scenario in past in PI 7.0 and never faced much issue . but doing first in PI 7.1 after a long time, so I might be possible, I am missing some thing. Please advice and help. thank
    Ram

    Hi Ram,
There is nothing new in PI7.1 which can cause these errors.. it is because the interface is configured wrongly
If you know the value the you can create the control record during mapping and the fields which you don;t required you can map it co constant. It is using this control record the partner profile entries are found and if there is a mismatch then the idoc will fail with the error which you mentioned in point 3
No in 7.1 also we dont have to do anything like that. There is a blog on this error from Michael, please go through it and understand why and how this error occurs. May be in PI7.0 you were lucky enough for not getting this error
    >>3) now any how I am able to process the idoc from PI and its coming to ECC system. but it showing failed over there and giving me error message. "EDI: Partner profile inbound not available"I checked all the relevent partner prfile configuration is already there"
Check the control record of the generated idoc and see whether you have a partner profile entry for the parameters mentioned in it. If not then you need to correct them in PI

  • File to IDoc Scenario: Idoc Status 50

    Hello,
I have a problem in doing a File to IDoc Scenario with a simple XML file mapped to IDoc "CREMAS.CREMAS03".  In the beginning, I got a status 56:"IDoc with errors added".  Then I added a logical system (LS name of my sender)manually in "Display IMG";however, it didn't work.  So I simply changed the logical system name of my sender to XI_00_800 which already exists in R/3.  I tried the scenario again, then I got the status 50:"IDoc added".  Looked like the IDoc still hadn't been correctly inserted as a record.  May I ask what other steps or configurations do I need to do to get this scenario to work?  Thank you.

    Steve,
<i>Moreover, I didn't create any partner profile. The "XI_00_800" partner profile is in the system all along. Should I create a whole new partner profile and point that to my sender business system?</i>
You need not create it once again as it already exists. Normally , ALE  configurations on an R3 system are the responsibiltis of the Functional Team. For instance , on our projects we are never given access to the End r3 systems and the Partner profile are created by the F'nal team itself.
Like I mentioned, ask your F'nal team why you are getting this issue. From XI side , there is nothing more you need to do.

  • Mapping of Control records in file to idoc scenario

    Hi,
In the mapping part of file to idoc scenario is it necessary to provide the exact control record details
or will it pick what ever is mentioned ? Can any one please explain regarding the same?
    Many Thanks,
    Sharath

    hi,
in case of apply control records from payload
It is indeed very simple to do it and the feature is available from SP10. I have seen lot of posts on the forum for the same and that is the reason for this blog. We can manipulate the control record in the mapping editor and map the EDI_DC40 segment of Idoc as required. Most of the times we need to map only SNDPRN, RCVPRN, SNDPRT, RCVPRT for posting Idocs with appropriate partner profiles in SAP R/3 destination systems. We can disable the rest of the fields as shown below. We need to manually change the control record of idoc for populating partner profiles in the control records while dealing with non-sap sender system, which will be used by receiver SAP system for posting idocs with appropriate ALE configurations.
    check this blog

  • Fault message type using in File to IDoc Scenario

    Hi,
I have successfully configured File to IDoc scenario. Now I am thinking to add some flavour to it by using Fault message type.
Can I use fault message type without using any proxies?
Can some body help in giving an answer to my question and provide some weblogs to achieve the configuration?
    Thanks in advance.
    Suraj Kumar

    Hi Suraj,
With IDOCs, you cannot set up fault messages as it is async mode communication. There is not control which waits for the processing of the message/application errors as you have it in case of synch mode.
But, you can set up acknowledgement using ALEAUD. Check this for more /people/saravanakumar.kuppusamy2/blog/2005/01/20/configuration-tips-for-a-business-serviceintegration-process-to-send-back-ale-audit-idoc

  • Error in File to IDOC Scenario

    Hi,
I have File to IDOC scenario.
I am getting error in sender file channel.
"Conversion initialization failed: java.lang.Exception: java.lang.Exception: java.lang.Exception: Error(s) in XML conversion parameters found: Mandatory parameter 'xml.keyfieldName': no value found "
Although I have used this parameter in content conversion 'xml.keyfieldName' (for each sub structure and defined a key field).
Despite of this error in sender channel I am receiving the message in XI.
But in XI also it throws error :
"Unable to convert the sender service PG_TOM_CEEMEA_RU_SFA to an ALE logical system"
    Any help on this ?
    Thanks,
    Vikas

    Hello Vikas,
I am getting error in sender file channel.
Check your flat file structure whether the key field you have chosen is appropriate and also recheck the FCC details whether you have assigned the value for the key field i.e.  keyFieldValue.
"Unable to convert the sender service PG_TOM_CEEMEA_RU_SFA to an ALE logical system"

  • Regarding RFC connection in File to IDOC Scenario

    Hi everyone,
I was configuring file to Idoc Scenario, i have made all the required configurations in SLD, IR and ID, in XI system and in R/3 System. i have created RFC connection from XI to R/3 system, and its working fine. i have created an Partner profile in WE20 with sender file system name with inbound parameters. <i>But still i am getting error as EDI Partner Profile not defined in WE05- iDOC ADDED WITH ERRORS. </i><b>Do we need to create an RFC connection from R/3 system to XI for file to Idoc Scenario</b>
<b>!!! Note:  RFC connection from R/3 system to XI is not working, will this be a problem for file to idoc scenario. !!!</b>
    Regards,
    Varun Reddy.K

    Hi Varun
    Follow these steps
First - Maintain the Sender R/3 System:
SM59 : Create a RFC destination to XI
WE21 : Create a TRFC Port ->Specify the RFC Destination Created
BD54 : Create a Logical System for the Idoc Receiver
WE20 : Create Partner Profile ->Maintain Outbound and the Inbound Parameters
Second - Log on to XI System:
SM59 : RFC Destination for Sender System
IDX1 : Create the port to get Idoc Metadata from Sender System ( The Port Name must match the port name in the idoc header - Usually in format SAP<System ID>. eg. SAPID1 [Optional Step. Not mandatory]
IDX2 : Maintain the Idoc Metadata. This is needed only by XI, and not by other SAP systems. IDX2 is needed because XI needs to construct IDoc-XML from the IDoc. No other SAP system needs to do that.
