ALE: FI-IDoc FIDCCP01/FIDCCP02

Hi all,
i have a problem with creating and sending IDocs for FI-Documents. I use Message type FIDCC1 and the IDoc Basictype FIDCCP01 (with an extension). In the Partnerprofiles i maintained this data combination. But by posting an FI Document an IDoc with IDoc type FIDCCP02 is created but faulty with the reason of not existing entries in the outbound table. The reason of faulty is correct, but i do not really understand why an FIDCCP02 is created. I assume that the reason is the used function module 'FI_IDOC_CREATE_FIDCC1' (i think that is used) and the IDoc type that is used is hard coded FIDCCP02. But some created IDocs fit to my maintained partner profile (FIDCCP01 with extension). So that i am really confused and do not really know what has to be done now.
An OSS message (459938) says that the old FIDCCP01 still can be used. How?
I am working with a 46B (PatchLevel 51).
Please help.
Thanks in advance
Michael

Hi,
in WE20 you maintain the partner profile. Selecting a partner you see which messages are distributed (outbound and inbound). If you select a message type and show the details (for example Screen 'Partner profiles: Outbound parameters) you see in addition to the message type a field for message code (3 digits) and message function (3 digits). With these two additional informations you can separate processes using the same message type.
Think about several systems sending data with one message type to one central system and you want to handle the inbound different. Therefore you can use message codes and message functions.
My problem was that i didn't really know what i did when i used this the first time. We wanted to distribute the message FIDCC1 with the IDoc type FIDCCP01. We have done several times with other systems and it always runs without any problems. But when i started using MESCOD and/or MESFCT an error appears with IDoc type FIDCCP02 and that our additional segment is not identifyable).
So i had a look how the ALE service version conversion works. As i wrote before our Application creates a master IDoc with type FIDCCP02 and former this was converted to FIDCCP01.
It is done like following (sequences of calls):
CALL FUNCTION 'MASTER_IDOC_DISTRIBUTE'
PERFORM 'IDOC_SELECTION_AND_SERVICES'
CALL FUNCTION 'ALE_IDOC_SERVICES_APPLY_OUT'
PERFORM 'IDOC_CONVERT_VERSION_OUTBOUND'
PERFORM 'CHANGE_IDOC_VERSION'
The program takes the values of the IDoc control information (MSGTYP, MESCOD, MESFCT) and checks them against table EDP13. If an entry exists the change of the IDoc version will be done, else not.
So my fault was to maintain the partner profile with MESCOD and MESFCT but in the control information these values were empty (how should the application program know which walue have to be filled in?). So i did it in an exit (F050S004 FM EXIT_SAPLF050_007):
>>> Enrich IDoc Control structure with a value for the logical
message function, to make a difference for different processes in
    the partner profile.
  idoc_control-mesfct = c_mesfct_fidcc1.  "YFA
Now it fits to my partner profile and it runs properly.
But don't forget to maintain the partner profile in the receiving system equal and VERY IMPORTANT think about the inbound processing. You have to maintain the Assignment of the inbound FM to log. Message and IDoc type with MESCOD and MESFCT using transaction WE57.
Thats all.
Hope it helps.

  • ALE VA01 IDOCs are sent two times ?

My ALE is working well, but for eacher sales order created, Two Idocs are send (Two different idoc number but the same sales order)!
I use message controle and a partner profile Ku ans LS.
So where can I check where is this double ?
    Transaction ? Tables ? Spro?
    Best regards
    Henri

    Hi Henri,
Why do you need to have two partner profile KU and LS?
Unless you want to send to different target systems. For example, KU is for customer 'ABC' and LS for CRM system.
If you need only to send one target system then use only partner profile and delete the other one.
Please ensure the two IDoc generated are having two different recipient (KU and LS) in IDoc control.
If both IDocs have same recipient then you may need to check the ALE and IDoc configuration again.
Please check NAST table for initial investigation.
    Hope this will help.

  • ALE ,EDI ,IDOC?

    hi SAP gurus
can u send me steps on ALE,EDI and IDOC s
    [email protected]
    points will be rewarded

    Hi,
    ALE and IDOC:
ALE stands for Application Link Enabling and is used for distribution of data. IDOC is an Intermediate Document. It carries the application data from one server to another server. It uses the RFC(Remote Function call) .
IDocs are text encoded documents with a rigid structure that are used to exchange data between R/3 and a foreign system. Instead of calling a program in the destination system directly, the data is first packed into an IDoc and then sent to the receiving system, where it is analyzed and properly processed. Therefore an IDoc data exchange is always an asynchronous process. The significant difference between simple RFC-calls and IDoc data exchange is the fact, that every action performed on IDocs are protocolled by R/3 and IDocs can be reprocessed if an error occurred in one of the message steps.
While IDocs have to be understood as a data exchange protocol, EDI and ALE are typical use cases for IDocs. R/3 uses IDocs for both EDI and ALE to deliver data to the receiving system. ALE is basically the scheduling mechanism that defines when and between which partners and what kind of data will be exchanged on a regular or event triggered basis. Such a set-up is called an ALE-scenario.
It is the the combination of Segements.
Segment : All the required fields will get assigned in relavant segement.Like that we will have lot of segments. We will assign all the segments to IDOC type.In the required level(Parent & child level .Like tree nodes).
Idocs Type is a Structure by lot of segments.
IDOC is generared at the time of run time .
    It will have the data.
There are basically two types of IDOCs.
Basic IDOCs : Basic IDOC type defines the structure and format of the business document that is to be exchanged between two systems.
Extended IDOCs : Extending the functionality by adding more segments to existing Basic IDOCs.

    Hi
    IDOC
    Data Creation in Idoc
IDocs are text encoded documents with a rigid structure that are used to exchange data between R/3 and a foreign system. Instead of calling a program in the destination system directly, the data is first packed into an IDoc and then sent to the receiving system, where it is analyzed and properly processed. ALE is basically the scheduling mechanism that defines when and between which partners and what kind of data will be exchanged on a regular or event triggered basis. Such a set-up is called an ALE-scenario.
IDoc is a intermediate document to exchange data between two SAP Systems.
*IDocs are structured ASCII files (or a virtual equivalent).
    *Electronic Interchange Document
*They are the file format used by SAP R/3 to exchange data with foreign systems.
*Data Is transmitted in ASCII format, i.e. human readable form
    *IDocs exchange messages
*IDocs are used like classical interface files
IDOC types are templates for specific message types depending on what is the business document, you want to exchange.
WE30 - you can create a IDOC type.
An IDOC with data, will have to be triggered by the application that is trying to send out the data.
FOr testing you can use WE19.
    How to create idoc?
*WE30 - you can create a IDOC type

Enter the name for your segment type and click on the Create icon
    Type the short text
Enter the variable names and data elements
    Save it and go back
Go to Edit -> Set Release
Follow steps to create more number of segments
    Create IDOC Type
    Go to transaction code WE30
Enter the Object Name, select Basic type and click Create icon
Select the create new option and enter a description for your basic IDOC type and press enter
Select the IDOC Name and click Create icon
The system prompts us to enter a segment type and its attributes
Choose the appropriate values and press Enter
The system transfers the name of the segment type to the IDOC editor.
Follow these steps to add more number of segments to Parent or as Parent-child relation
    Save it and go back
Go to Edit -> Set release
    Create Message Type

An IDoc is simply a data container that is used to exchange information between any two processes that can understand the syntax and semantics of the data...
1.IDOCs are stored in the database. In the SAP system, IDOCs are stored in database tables.
2.IDOCs are independent of the sending and receiving systems.
3.IDOCs are independent of the direction of data exchange.
The two available process for IDOCs are
    Outbound Process
    Inbound Process
AND There are basically two types of IDOCs.
    Basic IDOCs
Basic IDOC type defines the structure and format of the business document that is to be exchanged between two systems.
    Extended IDOCs
Extending the functionality by adding more segments to existing Basic IDOCs.
To Create Idoc we need to follow these steps:
    Create Segment ( WE31)
    Create Idoc Type ( WE30)
    Create Message Type ( WE81)

    EDI FLOW :
Here is some thing which helps you and here the purchase order is taken as example too..
Electronic Data Interchange, or EDI, is the electronic exchange of business data. Using a standard format, EDI provides a method of transmitting business data from one computer to another, without the need to re-key data. This electronic link can result in more effective business transactions. With EDI, paper documents such as invoices can be replaced with electronic transmissions, thus time is saved, and the potential for error is minimized. Data can be exchanged at any time. Related business expenses, such as postage, printing, phone calls, and handling, can also be significantly reduced. EDI can aid in the support of manufacturing efforts, such as Just-in-Time and Third Party Warehousing, and financial efforts, such as Electronic Payments.
What parts of the business cycle can be supported by EDI?
Any business documents that are currently exchanged using paper can be converted to an EDI. Standards. Standards include ANSI X12 and XML/EDI are primarily used in the United States, while EDIFACT is used in Europe and Asia.
    How does EDI get started?
EDI gets started when one company contacts another expressing interest in trading business documents electronically using Electronic Data Interchange. The two companies must first determine each other's EDI capabilities. If you do not already know your EDI capabilities, we have prepared a questionnaire to help you determine them. If you are already EDI capable, we will coordinate with your technical staff to determine a testing plan. Upon completion of testing the EDI documents, the appropriate business personnel will set a production start date to begin the exchange of EDI business data. If you are not EDI capable, we recommend you first obtain a commitment from your upper management. Your company will need to allocate resources and capital for software, hardware, testing, possible programming, and training.
What is the flow of EDI?
The flow of EDI depends on the sophistication of your systems and your EDI software. If you have internal purchasing/order entry systems, you will need interface programs that can extract and insert data out of and into these systems. EDI programs that interface with your internal systems are preferred over software that requires re-keying of data. Embassy Software specializes in seemless interface between EDI and your back office systems. Using a purchase order as an example of a business document your customer would send that PO electronically (850) to you. It could be sent either through a VAN (Value Added Network) or through an FTP server. You would take that 850 and convert it either into and ODBC database, a flat file or XML document to be imported into your Order System with the use of EDI Software such as PassportXchange.. Using EDI communication software, which is part of the PassportXchange package you would pull down data at set intervals from the VAN or FTP. These documents are then processed through EDI translation software and output to our order entry system. Finally, an EDI document called a functional acknowledgment (997) is sent to your customer.
