Ale processes on the same system

Hi all
It is possible create a ALE process on the same SAP system? The ALE processes setting (BD64) doesn't permit to use the same logical name for the sender and the receiver system.

PI FTP: Process 1 file at a time until it is successfully processed at the target system

Dear Experts,
As the title said, I'm required to process 1 file at a time and only process the next file after the previous file has been successfully processed at the target system. The interface scenario is asynchronous FTP to ABAP proxy.

I think there could be 2 feasible solutions:
1. Configure EOIO at the sender CC. According to this link:
     Queues for Asynchronous Message Processing (SAP Library - SAP NetWeaver Exchange Infrastructure)
     It is stated that "Once the message has been processed successfully in the target system, the Integration Engine executes an implicit database commit."
     In the case of asynchronous FTP to ABAP proxy, will the PI wait for the ABAP proxy to finish processing the file before sending the next one?
2. Configure locking at the ABAP program in ECC. I could ask the ABAPer to create a locking mechanism to lock the document before it is posted to BAPI. If the reference document is being locked, it will try again for the next second up to a certain times before it gives up.
Which 1 is actually fits the requirement?

Sorry, just 1 more question which I'm curious.
In NFS adapter we have the option to set the processing sequence to by Name / Date.
In FTP will it only by Date?

If it is in the same sequence sent by the sender, I guess it is in the Date order for FTP. Is that correct?

AlChemy stops working when Xonar is installed in the same system as X-Fi?

A while back I tried to use an X-Fi Prelude and Xonar D2 in the same system. For the most part this worked, however AlChemy would no longer allow hardware sound in various games on the X-Fi. The results were the same whether DS3D-GX was turned on or off on the Xonar. Another user on a forum I frequent has been able to replicate the issue with a Creative X-Fi and Xonar Essence STX. Can someone suggest what might be happening and hopefully let me know if there is a work-around?

Try older (year+) xonar drivers. Xonar and X-Fi worked fine for me back in 2009. Recently I re-inserted Xonar with newest drivers for some testing and discovered same bug. I think this may have something to do with more agressi've/reckless hooking in GX service (HrMsg), even if GX disabled in Xonar's CP. Killing this process with task manager seems to fix Alchemy.

there is some problem with your RFC connection
just go to WE20 T code and expand partner type LS
here search your r/3 system and click on that here you can find the details of idoc
if you are not able to correct yourself you can contact basis team for that.
just go to RSA1--> using the conxt menu doa check of Source system you will get the error message
just send the screen shot of the same to Basis team they will take care of the same.

ALE inbox of BI is identical to the ALE outbox of the source system

Hi experts
We have BW 7 on ERP (ECC) 6. We have BW and ERP TOGETHER on the same developing system. BW is designed on developing client 100 (it is future productive client on the future productive system). It is of course default "myBI" source system. Upload is correct.
But because data is only inside clinet 200 (in the same system) I must create SAP source system client 200. It is correct, RFC destination is corect, source system clnt200 is correct and active. But data I cannot upload from this source system clnt200 - IDOCs are not correct, BW monitor is yellow and message:
ALE inbox of BI is identical to the ALE outbox of the source system
Is mistake in situation "the same system - various clients and sourcesystems"? Do you have any experiences with BW on the same system with ERP 6 and client enviroment?

The problem can often be caused due to missing authorizations with the background user used to receive the data in BW or
the background user in the source system that sends the data to BW. Please check the authorizations as per the note
150315 , sometimes SAP_ALL profile does not have the required authorizations so please check that the background users
have the profiles mentioned in the note 150315:
As per the note:
Reason and Prerequisites
a) In the BW there exist two user:
   i) a human administrator, using S_RS_ALL
   ii) a user called BWREMOTE (or similar), used to receive the data
       from the OLTP, using S_BI-WHM_RFC
b) In the OLTP there exist also two user:
   i) a human administrator, needing authorizations to create users
       and RFC-destinations.
   ii) a user called ALEREMOTE (or similar), used to ...
       1) ... connect the OLTP to the BW
       2) ... extract the data
       3) ... send the data to the BW
       4) ... show monitoring dialogs
       for tasks 1 to 4, the profile S_BI-WX_RFC is used (however does
       not suffice on some points since some authorizations are
       missing in the delivered profile)
       5) ... make customizing of OLTP extractors
       for this, additionally the authorizations to execute
       IMG-functionality, to execute Transaction SBIW and
       to maintain the applications, which shall be customized, must
       be given during the customizing functionality is used.

Automatic Posting Between 2 companies in the same system

Dear colleagues:
I have the following scenario:
a) Companies GS01 and GS02 are both in the same system.
b) Company GS01 paids the telephone bill for both companies.
c) Company GS01 charges or bills the proportionale part of the telephone bill to company GS02
d) Company GS02 creates an account to pay and pays to GS01
e) Company GS01 applies the payment and the bill is concluded.
My customer wants to optimize the process. I found the following document in the wikki part of this forum and did the customizing as it is explained:

We are using this for some cross-company charges for services. One company is set up as a vendor and another as a sold-to party (in your scenario company GS01 is a vendor and GS02 is a sold-to) with the special customer account type for inter-company billing.
We create a special sales document (VA01), then bill it in VF01 (it's order-related billing). There is a EDI output RD04 assigned to the corresponding billing document. This automatically creates an outbound IDoc and an inbound IDoc, which posts an FI document to Company 1.
There is some configuration required in SPRO and partner profiles need to be maintained in WE21. I think SAP Help and the link above explain it rather well.

ECC and BW in the same system - Gotchas?

From the documents, and from the information from SAP, it appears that BW 3.5 can be installed into an ERP 2004 / ECC 500 system. Does anyone have any experience with this during the ECC 5 rampup?
I have a client that is considering this and would like to know of any gotchas before we hit them.
For instance the documents mention you need to tune the Oracle database with the parameter "star_transformation_enabled=true", which is normally used in a BW system. What impact, if any, will that have the ECC side of things?

Just to respond to your post and clarify some of the areas.
1. The mySAP ERP 2004 ECC 5.0 and it's internal SAP BW is <b>not</b> an MCOD implementation. The SAP BW is internal with the ECC (same instance, same database schema, and same database. Whereas MCOD is different instances, different schemas, but same database. One important point is that MCOD and mySAP ERP 2004 fully support three tier architecture.
2. MCOD was <u>not</u> recommended for a mix of OLTP and OLAP applications on all databases until recently (e.g. recommended for SAP R/3 Enterprise and mySAP SRM but not SAP R/3 Enterprise and SAP BW). This has recently changed where a combination of OLTP and OLAP is now supported: See http://service.sap.com/mcod or see SAP note 712777.
3. SAP BW Performance: In a mySAP ERP 2004 ECC 5.0 system with the internal SAP BW functionality active, the system must be configured for both the transaction processing and OLAP functions. This configuration must include load balancing if you have high usage. Without load balancing you are unable to target activities to specific servers or separate different user groups. Obviously if you have only one server load balancing is not available. It is strongly recommended to use the three system configurations for SAP ERP applications and SAP BW.
4. Automatic multiple Instance shutdown:
For MCOD this is not the case that shutting down one system in your MCOD installation will also shutdown your other MCOD systems; this only happens if you also close the database (remember it is the only part that this shared). The instances can be started and shutdown independently.
For the internal SAP BW within ECC 5.0 you have "one system" so if you shut it down, you really shut it down.
5. Impact of applying patches or doing client copies:
For MCOD systems, the systems are independent and can be patched and administered independently. The only common part is the database. The database maintenance and patching does affect all the connected MCOD systems. For processes like system copies, these are also independent of the other systems. Obviously if you share the same server for the different systems you need to take care with CPU and memory usage of these functions.
As SAP BW within ECC 5.0 is the same system, you have to patch the system all at once (recommendation is to use SP-Stacks). A SAP_BASIS support package applied to ECC is also applied to SAP BW at the same time. With regard to client copies, client copies are only supported for ERP 'OLTP' clients (not for the SAP BW client).
6. "The headaches just are not worth it....especially since server prices are low"
I would not totally agree with this comment. For mySAP ERP this low price server argument also works for adding more app servers to ERP and doing load balancing. The use of MCOD or the internal SAP BW within ECC will be made on a number of factors by the customer with different weighting being applied to each of the Pros and Cons.
The new "internal SAP BW within ECC 5.0" gives customer's system architects more options and increases the flexibility of the total solution in general (delivery of a centralized EDW, deliver of operation reporting, deliver of application or organization specific datamarts to name a few). With more options and flexibility, more decision points need to be reviewed and analyzed which can be a good thing.

Migrating Transports via CHaRM to the same system more than once

Good Day;
Does anyone know if CHaRM has the capabilities to migrate transports (within a maintenance cycle) to the same system multiple times?
Let me explain.
When we move a maintenance cycle (release) through our landscape we move from;
Development system - Quality system - Volume system. Then to production
UAT is being done in both the quality system and the volume system.
Once all testing is complete, we refresh the volume system with a fresh copy of the production system and re-import all the transports. This is to allow our BASIS team to do regression (batch) and load testing.
Is there a way to use CHaRM to migrate the transports or is this something that needs to be done manually (as it is today).

Multiple agentry servers installed in the same system?

Hello Experts,
There are two agentry servers installed in the same system,but in different drives(C and D drive).I have given access to one server remotely,in the sense the applications to the server in one drive are published by other developers who are connecting to the server through network. In the other drive server iam publishing the applications developed locally.But after deployment,when i connect to the server to retrieve definitions,iam getting the latest application published.
Is this situation possible,because when we connect to the server we are using ip address of the system where the server is installed,if both the servers are running in different drives,then which server application will be deployed,Is there any possibility to connect to the server instances(in my system two server instances),so that the application that is deployed to individual servers can be retrieved?

Hi Sravanthi,
I do not believe that you can run two Agentry Servers on the same hardware without making other changes (like running them on SMP 2.3). I would suggest that you look into the documentation for SMP 2.3 as your best solution at this time. Hopefully some more savvy Agentry folks will chime in with a more detailed response.

After firefox update it will not stream video, explorer will on the same system, what is the problem?

Firefox notified me that an update was available to install and after this install was complete I could not stream video from any site. I was instructed to clear my browser cache, I did ti no avail. I updated Adobe Flash and exhausted the extent of my troubling abilities w/o causing any major system unrest. I accessed the same video steam through explorer on the same system, but firefox is a far superior browser and I like to solve this problem to avoid having to find another browser.

I have the same problem. After the upgrade, my wifi is greyed out, and the battery won't hold a charge long. I reset all the settings, tried all the things suggested by Apple, but it didn't work. I took the phone to Verizon, but they said they can't fix it, go to Apple
I made an appointment at the Genius bar, where the staff was incredibly rude and dismissive. A representative told me that the wi-fi is broken and I would need to buy a new phone for $200, because mine is out of warranty. I'm due for an upgrade in a few months, so I'm not going to pay $200 for another 4S now. I'm also not going to buy any more Apple products. Their upgrade caused this problem, and they are not standing behind their producet.

Dreamweaver 8 and DW cs4 or DW cs5 on the same system?

I'm using DW8 + MX Kollection 3.7 pro for large sites and I I'm thinking to install DW CS4 or CS5 along with it.
So, my question:
can I install DW CS4 + ADDT or DW CS5 (alone) on the same system?
Do they interfere each other?
I don't mind working on the same website with different version of DW.
But it could happen that I will need to edit a page of a website with a different verison of DW. Is there any problem to do this?
For example: will DW CS4 + ADDT retain all server behaviuors created in DW 8? or, at least, will DW CS4 editing break server behaviour so that I will not able to work again on the page with DW8?
Sorry for all these /dumb) question but I fear upgrading (every application) will break something working right away.

Yes, you can install them on the same system, and no, they won't interfere with each other. Each version of DW installs as a complete, standalone application.

No there's not a problem.

Risks of two development groups in the same system

I need your help.
I'm looking for a document about the risks having two development groups in the same system.
The point is: An external party will come soon and start the implementation of a mini H2R in the same system as we (the internal team) are working for SD, MM, CO,... As the developments are cross-client, I'm asked to write a document explaining the risks in such cases like:
conflicts: working on the same objects
authorisations: each group should be assigned to different packages
planning: the go-live should be at the same time
transports: there can be conflicts on a transport-level
