ALE Workflow setup

Hello Gurus,
I want to setup workflow for ALE/Idoc error handling. Sap version 4.6B.
Can anyone please tell me in detail the steps need to be configured/setup for
the workflow. This is for customer master distribution.
Urgent please.
Thanks in advance.
Rgs,
Anant

Hi Ananth,
If you want to know how to activate the workflow for handling the idoc errors then here is the explabatio.
Go to tcode : WE42.
Choose any inbound processcode: ex : INVC and click on details.
Here usually the events are defined(Start and END event) for IDOC Error handling through workflow.
For process code : INVC
Object Type                         IDOCINVCON
Start Event                         INPUTERROROCCURRED
End event                           INPUTFINISHED
If any error is occured when IDOC for message type INVCON  is created then IDOCINVCON.INPUTERROROCCURRED event will be triggered. You need to use this event in the start condition of workflow "which in turn will send the workitem to user who is responsible for correcting the errors".
Reward if it helps.
Thanks
Praveen

  • MDM Workflow setup

    Hi All
We have the MDM setup as follows
1 Normal Repository serving the Preview environment
    1 Master Repository
1 Slave Repository serving the Production environment
The Slave Repository synchronizes itself with Master Repository using CLIX commands.
We would like to setup a workflow that moves the content from Normal repository to Master Repository, if the user initiates the same. ( no need of multiple approvals )
Is the above workflow setup feasible? or Do we have any specific MDM Client to perform the above operation?
Please let me know if you need more details regarding the same.
    Thanks
    Prakash

    Hello Prakash,
At this time, Workflow does not offer built-in means for operating on multiple repositories. Don't know about starting JavaAPI from workflows.
All I can think of is some sort of Syndication - Import solution, where the preview system syndicates and the production system imports. Launching Syndication from a workflow job should not be attempted in MDM version prior to SP06 patch 1 or, even better, patch 2. As far as I remember, you have an earlier version of MDM, so you will need to schedule Incremental Syndications. For example, a workflow can set a flag (Approved for Production) to true and the incremental syndication will output any record with that flag being true. Any other change made to the record will reset the flag to false.
I believe I already mentioned that one problem you have is your reliance on RecordIds for tracking records, as these ids are internal and subject to change over long terms. AutoIDs are guaranteed to be both unique and persistent over the lifetime of a record, but AutoIDs are always assigned by the system, so you can't pass them directly from a preview system to a production one. A simple solution would be to have two ID fields, one being an AutoID and another just text. On a preview system, the AutoID is assigned into the first field. When copying a record to a production system, you populate the other ID field with the value of the preview's AutoID field. That way, when tracking, you compare the AutoID of a preview record against the other ID of a production record. On the production system, the AutoID should be simply ignored. If you can tolerate different preview and production schemas, it might be a good idea to get rid of the production AutoID.
    Hope this helps,
    Simon

  • ALE - WF Setup for Inbound IDoc

    Hi All,
I did ALE - WF setup for IDoc error notifications. If sender port is SAP then it works fine. But if I take port as tRFC then I am unable to receive any Inbound application errors.
Any suggestion for tRFC port? Do I need to do configuration differently?

  • ALE Workflow

We're implementing ALE between our financials server and HR server.
We would like to set up some sort of monitoring to make sure the IDocs are processed successfully and want to notify users via some sort of Workflow.
From what I understand, the program RSEIDOCA collects the Idocs based on the status/message type etc.. criteria selected and sends them via SAP Mail to the appropriate people
And, I need to make sure all the partner profiles have an Agent assigned to them - this would be the person who's notified of errors.
I'm sure there's a lot left out. Can someone explain ALE workflow? How similar is it to normal workflow used on FI side?
    thanks,
    robert.

    Hi Robert,
SAP provides std WF for error handling. The link below will give you some useful information to get started. Hope this helps.

  • Workflow Setup and possibilities

    Dear Gurus,
    I have a client who wants to be able to do multi authoriser through a single initiator while all workflows are active. I currently drive this using below scenario;
Mr. A, B, C are authorisers while Mr Y is the initiator of all documents. For instance; all workflows templates for A,Band C should be active and then Y to be abel to select which of the template to trigger as in AIO.
Once all the templates are active all authorisers gets alert of the approval initiated by Mr Y and the client insist that they want all to be active at all time because we currently manage this with Activating on case of need for each template.
Kindly urgently advise or show me the way to achieve their requirement where by Y would be able to select which of the flow should be triggered at any point in time without necessarily calling for us to deactivate A, or C before B's approval template will be triggered.
    Best regards,

  • ALE Workflow Scenario

    Hi,
Can somebody tell me how we can handle errors in ALE on Inbound side using workflow?
    All the help is appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Sneha.

    HI Sneha,
Please go to transction WE20, pick the Partner / Idoc that you would like to assign the Org. chart to.
Then you should configure "post processing :permitted agent" Tab with the Organizational unit.
Then double click the process code associated with the Idoc Type and click the button next to the Function Module associated with this process code.
Check IDoc Tab and see if Stanard Event INPUTERROROCCURRED is present in the field called start event.

  • Workflow Setup problem

    Hi,
I have the problem below when I install the Oracle WorkFlow Tool. How can I resolve it ? I need install any other Oracle package ?
    Thank you,
    Faria
SQL Exception encountered during upload: ORA-04068: existing state of packages has been discarded
ORA-04063: package body "OWF_MGR.WF_EVENT_SYNCHRONIZE_PKG" has errors
ORA-06508: PL/SQL: could not find program unit being called

Looks like there are erros when creating the package. which workflow version and database version are you using?
If this is a 9.0.1.4 instance make sure you apply the database patch for bug 2528048.
Check out the number of packages invalid and see what the error is.

  • AD PasswordSync - Direct mode workflow setup

Is there any information out there pertaining to setting up passwordSync in AD with IDM that goes into detail of how the process flows through each component? I'm looking for a more detailed explaination of IDM to gateway to AD to passSync back to IDM. Specifically:
    - When passSync send the password back to IDM in direct mode, does IDM send it back to the AD resource? Why or Why not?
    - If a load-balancer is in front of 2 gateways, what adverse effects will it have on IDM and AD? Why?
    Thanks,

    - When passSync send the password back to IDM in direct mode, does IDM send it back to the AD resource? Why or Why not?
Answer : NO, this is default behavior of pass sync workflow
    - If a load-balancer is in front of 2 gateways, what adverse effects will it have on IDM and AD? Why?
Answer : Gateways are not involved in Pass Sync Process itself, only if you have resources OTHER than AD, which are being managed via gateway.
BY the way - gateways can not work in active-active mode, this is not supported architecture. (only failover mode Active - Passive)

  • IPad Enterprise workflow/setup.. HELP!

Have any of you guys successfully deployed iPads in the workplace yet?
If so, I need your help determining the best way to get them in the hands of my users configured and ready to go. I can't seem to figure out a way for a Help Desk person to configure the iPads at work using 1 iTunes account and having the applications stick with that iPad once it's synced at home with the users personnel iTunes account. I did stumble on the "iPad configuration utility" and love how it will at least let me control passwords and secure SSID, but I didn't see how I can attach application purchased from the App Store to a config file (If you can please let me know). So this is where my issue starts... The current step the Help Desk tech takes to setup the iPad is he/she installs the profile created by the config utility and adds WYSE Pocket Cloud to the iPad from the app store. Once that is completed the iPad is good to go until the user takes it home and wants to sync it up to their iTunes account.
iTunes say it's synced with another iTunes library. An iPad can only be synced with only one iTunes library at a time.
So once the end user get the warning and "erases and sync" and they say "OK" their enterprise configured iPad it's basically useless when they bring it into work the next day.
Some background... We plan on buying them and then giving them out to some users, we don't plan on locking them down with the config utility so they will be able to sync with their home iTunes account.
Yes, it would be much easier if we loaded the applications they need and totally locked the thing down, but it's not going to happen so I need to think of the easiest way to manage these things.
My only thought was have the users meet a Tech and have the user login to their iTunes account and authorize that PC, buy the apps they need, load the config, sync up, and then once they leave de-authorize the iTunes so the next user can sync up. Once the user gets home they can sync up their stuff and iTunes already recognizes the iPad and will not want to erase. It will transfer their purchases and everything should be OK. They will also have a backup on theirs side.... Thought????
    Thanks!

This is how we are doing it. I have a workstation Windows 7 with Itunes and Iphone configuration Utility 3.1 (ICU) installed. My shortcut to Itunes is "C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes\iTunes.exe" /SetPreInt StoreActivationMode 1
This puts it into Store Mode so it doesn't sync with any of my data or accounts. Currently I'm not syncing Apps, so not much help in that respect.
    1. open Ituns with Storemode link.
    2. Create\load Configuration Profile in ICU, I have VPN, Web clips, Pin requirements, WIFI settings.
    3. plug in IPad/Iphone
    4. Itunes pops up says something about not being able to connect, don't care.
    5. In ICU, select the Device, install profile. (ICU also logs all the devices info, very handy to have)
    6. Hand device to user so they can type their Exchange email/username/passwords.
your done. It's up to users to to configure their own Itunes accounts and such.
I'm probably going to have my Profile out on a website and SMS text the link when a remote users needs to wipe or rebuild a device. I'm currently not doing that.

  • Workflow setup?

I am new to using Adobe Pro and I have created a form that needs to be filled out by an end user and then distributed to 5 parties for sign-off.  They need  to sign the form in order.  I want to create a workflow that automatically sends the form to the next person in the chain once the user submits, and then once the first signer signs, it sends to the next party.  Please help!

They will always be the same 5 signers.  There are fields designated specifically for each of the 5.  Basically what I want to be able to do is Joe Schmoe will fill out my form.  He'll hit submit and it will send it  back to me for review.  I'll approve and send it down the line to each signer.  Once each signer submits, I want it to be able to move on to the next person.  I also what to be able to track who has it and what the status is.  Is  this possible at all?  Oh, and most of these people only have Adobe Reader.
