Alert Category - Runtime Work Bench

Hi Experts,
Can any please let me know how to logon to Runtime Workbench (RWB) to create an alert rule...as I'm new to Alert Management?
Thanks in advance,
Regards
Vinod

Hi,
To add an alert rule, you will first have to select the Alert category.
In your Alert Configuration page, click on UPDATE TABLE. Then, click on the SQUARE button on the left of your ALERT CATEGORY.
After you select the Alert Category, the ADD RULE button will get anabled.
Check XIRWBUSER Roles are below;
SAP_BC_BASIS_ADMIN
SAP_BC_BASIS_MONITORING
SAP_XI_RWB_SERV_USER
SAP_XI_RWB_SERV_USER_MAIN
Also it may be due to browser privacy and security issue.

what is diffrence between SXMB_MONI & runtime work bench?

    Hi,
    Moni:
SXI_Monitor / SXMB_MONI is used for monitoring of XML messages either in error or success or in System error and in other status. You can check messages here for all of your interfaces.
SXMB_MONI is the monitoring tool for all the message processing and shows different pipeline steps like receiver determination, interface determination and mapping ..etc....
You can see the status of message after reaching the Intergration server from the sender adapter to the before delivering to the receiver adapter from IS.
SXMB_MONI is for Integration Engine monitoring, it provides Additional monitoring functions for the Integration Engine. u have outbound and inbound processes in XI and XML message processing happens in I.E in both the cases.
u can monitor both sender and receiver XML messgaes processed in integration engine. bcz both sender and receiver messages must have to pass through I.E runtime.
u can monitor all pipeline steps happens in I.E at runtime, and MONI displays runtime versions of xml messages.
refer these links to understand the message flow and monitoring features:
    http://help.sap.com/search/highlightContent.jsp

For BPM you can use SXMB_MONI_BPE.
    RWB
With the help of Runtime Workbench we can able to monitor the following ...
    1. Component Monitoring --- we can monitor all the components w.r.t to xi are working fine
    2. Message Monitoring --- Here we can check the errors with Integration Engine and Adapter Engine.
    3. End -to - End Monitoring
    4. Performance Monitoring
    5. Alert Configuration
    6. Alert Inbox .. etc..,

  • Access to Alert Configuration in Runtime Work bench of PI

    Hi Team,
I have created alerts using ALRTCATDEF in ABAP stack of PI. Now, I am able to login to RWB in SAP PI but not able to edit Alert configuration where in we check if the error is related to Integration Engine or Adapter Engine . I want to know what roles does my user need to get added at ABAP level or Javel level to configure alerts. Not sure if this question needs to be posted here. But I am posting since XI administrator might help me with the solution.
    Thanks,
    Raj

    Hi Raj,
I think you should be fine when using role SAP_XI_RWB_SERV_USER. This is the role for the Runtime Workbench User.
    Kind regards,
    Mark

    Hi,
Please check if your Adapter Engine is working fine
Please can you look at this thread. The same issue is resolved here
Unable to find an associated SLD element
Also see if your SLDCHECK is fine?
No Adpater Engine available in Communication Channel creation
File adapter error after updating to SP19 (INBOUND_BINDING_ERROR)
Also check as per below steps
    0) Go to RWB-->Cache Connectivity Test and check the status.. and run the refresh over there
    1) execute SLDCHECK in XI box
    2) Go to SXI_CACHE and refresh the cache also delete the Adapter metadata
    3) Check the SAP BASIS SWCV is imported into IntegratioN Repository
    4) Refersh the Adapter Metadata cache in SLD>Adminisration>Cache Overview ->Adapter Metadata Cache Refresh

The requirement is to view the error messages in Portal.
Can we directly call the error details screen using the error code.

IN RWB ther are various moniotinrg options...so have to monitor based on the interface details or date and also it will alow you to monitor like all the errored out messages etc....

  • ADAPTER engine not found in runtime work bench

    Hi Experts,
I am not able to see the adapter engine in the component monitoring in  RWB .
What may be the probelm ?
Thanks in advance and best regards,
    Anil

    Hi Anil,
The adapter needs to register itself in SLD.
For this there is template task which should have done this automatically. If not the Basis team could trigger the self-registration of adapter engine in visual admin.
For more info refer to the link
    [Adapter Engine Self Registration|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/43/8dde24cbdc6353e10000000a11466f/frameset.htm]

  • Alerts & Warnings in GP runtime work center

    Hi all,
can any one explain me how to trigger the alerts and warning in GP runtime work center and what are the basic setting needed to be done to get alerts. what are the suitations that will lead the process to come under the Erroneous Processes and Overdue Tasks .
    Thanks in advance
    kiran

    Hi Kiran,
The Guided Procedures runtime and administration portal worksets (and thus the Guided Procedures inbox) should only be accessible by administrators.
The UWL has to be configured to retrieve workflow items generated by the Guided Procedures framework.
The Universal Worklist is used as the central access point to tasks, alerts and notifications. You can access
the UWL to manage and track your tasks.

  • Runtime workbench , how can I see the receipients in the Alert category,

    Hi guys,
    Alert framework;=>
I have previosly created allert category in runtime wrokbench--->allert configuration.
Also allert rule is created with that allert category.
how can i see the recipients defined for that alert category
    appreciate your help
    Iver

    Hi,
There are two ways one can define the recipients of the configured alerts.
    1)     Fixed Recipients: - Use tcode ALRTCATDEF and select your alert category and click on fixed recipient. tab
    2)     Recipients via User Role: It will help you to define alerts recipients via kind of roles they play.
For more help on alerts kindly check the below mentioned links :

  • Problem using multiline container in Alert Category

    Hello, experts!
Could you please suggest me how to solve the following issue.
I have userdefined multiline container MY_CONTAINER with two elements FIELD (stores name of field) and VALUE (stores value of field). This container is filled in runtime by means of BADI extension. So in transaction ALRTDISP filled container looks like:
      MY_CONTAINER
          MY_CONTAINER[1]
              FIELD    SystemCode
              VALUE    42
          MY_CONTAINER[2]
              FIELD    Key
              VALUE    0292383728232
          MY_CONTAINER[3]
              FIELD    State
              VALUE    1
...and so on. Number of filled elements of container is unknown.
I need to add the contents of this container to Long text of Alert Category in form of:
          SystemCode: 42
          Key: 0292383728232
          State: 1
    ...and so on.
I added MY_CONTAINER on the Containers tab of my alert category. And in Long text included the following expression:
          &MY_CONTAINER[].FIELD[]&: &MY_CONTAINER[].VALUE[]&.
But in long text it looks like:
          SystemCode Key State ...: 42 0292383728232 1 ...
    If the expression is like
          &MY_CONTAINER[].FIELD& - &MY_CONTAINER[].VALUE&
then long text contains only the first element:
          SystemCode: 42.
Does anybody know how to solve this problem?
I think I need to use expressions (something like FOR-loop) for filling Long Text in Alert Categories. Is it possible?
    BR,
    Vika

    Hi Experts,
still trying to work out but couldn't understand the behaviour.
    <b>If the Long text :</b>
    Error: &SXMS_ERROR_CODE& <b>of category &SXMS_ERROR_CAT&</b> was found in a message &SXMS_MSG_GUID& from the service &SXMS_FROM_SERVICE&  <b>and  Interface &SXMS_FROM_INTERFACE&</b>
to test I am running the program <b>RSALERTTEST</b>
    <b>Msg got thru E-mail is </b>
Error:  and category:<b> &SXMS_ERROR_CAT&</b> was found in a message  from the service  and Interface
    <b>
And when I change the Long text</b>
    Error: &SXMS_ERROR_CODE& <b>and &SXMS_ERROR_CAT&</b> was found in a message &SXMS_MSG_GUID& from the service &SXMS_FROM_SERVICE& and Interface &SXMS_FROM_INTERFACE&
    After running the program <b>RSALERTTEST</b>
    <b>
    E-mail msg</b>
Error:  and was found in a message  from the service  and Interface <b>&SXMS_FROM_INTERFACE&</b>
coudn't able to understand why it is displaying the container variable as is in the mail.
checked all the Alert Framework configuration, Everything looks good.
    Thank you,
    <b>MK</b>

  • Alert rule not working! Please help!

    Hi All,
I have a Async XI scenario IDOC ---> XI -
    > JMS
In order to receive alerts if JMS adapter or server is down, I have configured alert rule in runtime workbench. The associated alert category is setup correctly with fixed recipients.
Following are the settings in my alert rule.
       1. Conditions: Connected to message - Not Relevant
Sender component: I have given my IDOC source system.
Receiver component : I have given by JMS target system.
           Remaining all values: *
       2. Where did the error occur? : No Restriction
Now for testing purpose if I give a junk server name in JMS communication channel and send the IDOC from source system, then I found that the corresponding XI message is showing as successfully processed. AT the same time in communication channel monitoring in runtime workbench I get an error:
Error creating JMS connection. JMS provider gave error message as Failed to connect to the server
But I don't receive any alert. Why? Is there anything wrong with the alert rule?
Why is the message in XI showing successfully processed even though there is an error in adapter?
Is this the normal behavior of any Async communication?
Please help! I am struggling with this issue for a long time.
I will be grateful if somebody can help me.
    Thanks & Regards
    Gopal
Edited by: GOPAL BALIGA on Mar 23, 2009 9:31 AM

    Dear Gopal,
you have a couple of questions...
    1. Even thought the receiver communica channel is in error , why is the moni showing successfully processed?
Ans...This is not an unusual behavior... what is happening is as your mapping is correct the message is passing through the IE properly but when the adapter engine ( JMS receiver channel ) tries to coomunicate with the receiver JMS system it is giving error ..as u have given some wrong server details
    2. Alert e-mail not received
chk whether the alert catergory u created is attached to your alert rule..
you can do this in the alert configuration tab in the RWB
Also you need to activate your alert rule ..this again can be done in alert config tab..there is a chkbox of "rule activation".
Givind points is another way to say thanks

  • Alert Rule - not working. Wild Card character issue

    Hi All,
I have a requirement where I need to trigger alerts for mapping failures
of all the interfaces whose namespace is urn:abc.com:odna* or urn:abc.com.odna*.     (in the first instance, there is dot before odna and int he second instance, a colon before odna )
So to suit both the cases, I gave urn:abc.comodna in the Alert Rule.
It worked before. But now its not working.
Then when i changed it to urn:abc.com:odna* it works again. i really dont understand how it worked before and why it fails now.
What is the reason for the unpredicatable behaviour of WildCard Character based Alert Rules?
Should Wild Card Characters be avoided completely?

    Hey
Just create two separate alert rules for the same alert category
one for urn:abc.com:odna* and another for urn:abc.com.odna*.
but before that please make sure that "Suppress multiple alerts of this rule" box is unchecked.
Also please check SAP Note 913858
    Thanx

    Hi All,

They were working fine, but now if I open Alert category and click on container tab, its says: Container for alert category could not be loaded and I dont see container elements that I created before. Same thing happened before and I re-created those container variables. But now I have many Alert categories. Is this an existing issue? or does any body having similar situaltion? Can anybody please provide information on this.
