Alert Config in PI 7.3 AEX

Hi,
Please let me know of any documentation on Alert config in PI 7.3 AEX (Advanced Adapter Engine Extended). We have single stack installation of PI 7.3 and need to know how we can setup alert config here as there is no Abap stack and being on AEX only, can not use the Integration Process in ESR for setting up Alert categories.
Regards

Hi,
I have configured alerts in my system according to the document and it is working fine. I can see alerts for Mapping errors and certain comm channel errors. Alerts are not triggered for all comm channel errors. For ex in Sender File adapter I gave the wrong directory information and the comm channel is in error status with the message "Configured Source Directory does not exist" however there is no alert triggered for the same.
And once I correct the folder information and fail the file during content conversion I see the alert message triggered for the same channel. Any thoughts?
Alert rule created is "no restriction" rule.
Thanks,
Bhargav

  • File Receiver - Alert Config

    Hello all,
I have scenario IDOC to File. Now if the file is not posted at particular location on FTP and in acknowledgement i am getting the error from FTP for file size. But No alerts triggered for this. Is there any reason for this? (Alert Configuration is already set for this). Is there any specific alert category that we need to define to get an alert when we receive an error from acknowledgement.
Please let me know your inputs on this.
    Thanks,

    Hi,
You can select the option to raise the Alerts particular to IE and AE in the Alert Config of RWB itself.
To get the alert for AE errors dont give any value for mandatory field.....but remember you only get alert for system error in RWB...to get alert for application error in RWB you have to configure CCMS..

  • Alert Inbox and Alert Config does not open in RWB

When I open RWB I am not able to open Alert Inbox and Alert Configuration links. Its says " Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" . When I exequte the command ALRTINBOX from Abap stack, it opens the Alert Inbox page.
Can someone tell me if there is any setting that I need to change in my Internet Explorer. I even tried using Mozilla, but same issue. My team members are able to open these links, hence it may be some setting on my machine.

    Hi Chiraj/ Navneet,
Thanks for your reply, I have already tried these setting and my team members are able to login from their comps. Also i have tried using SUPER USER id which has all access, still the same issue. Hence I believe it is an issue with Internet Explorer setting.

  • Unable to see ALERT Category in RWB- Alert Config

    Hi Experts,
I have created an Alert Category using Transaction ALRTCATDEF.  I followed it as mentioned in Michal's blog.
In Runtime workbench --> Alert Configuration, under Select Alert Category, I am unable to see the Alert Category which I have created.  Only if, I could see this Alert Category, I will be able to select this and Add Rule.  I used filters to search and even tried to click Update Table.  But still unable to see.
Why is it that I am unable to see the Alert Category which I have created.  Basically, I login as PISUPER and created the Alert Category.  Kindly advise.

  • Background Job cancellation-Alert config in Solman

    Team,
We would like to send an alert to the distribution list or the user whenever a particular background job is getting cancelled.
Could you please let me know the steps how it can be done in solution manager.
    Regds,
    Satyanarayana N

    Hello,
I recommend to setup the Job Monitoring of Business Process Montoring from a Job Documentation. The alerts can either generate notifications (E-Mail, SMS) or workflow documents (messages in Support Desk).
This is demonstrated in a RKT tutorial:

  • Alert Config

    Hi All,
I was just configuring the Alerts for my scenarios. We are on XI 3.0 SP10.
These are the steps which I followed:
    1. Created Alert Category. Included my user as the fixed recipient. And added role BC_XI_MONITOR in the roles just in case....
2.Scheduled a Background Job for the ABAP Program SXMSALERT_PROCESS_DATA_GET.
3.Created Alert rules in the RWB . There were no conditions as such . Ever parameter was given *.
When I test an Interface without having Reciever Determination , I dont recieve any alerts in my Alert Inbox.
So I ran the program SXMSALERT_PROCESS_DATA_GET in foreground in DEBUG Mode....I was not able to see any entry in PMI tables.....? So , the Program doesn't trigger any alerts at all.
Is there any configuration that should be done on PMI/CCMS for a basic error in IE like "Receiver Not Found ? "?
    Thanks,
    Karunamurthy.

Are we saying Alerts work only with SSO userids.
I was able to setup Alerts by creating steps in BPM process as per Michal's Blog - works great!
However, I still cannot get Alerts working when I create condition and rules, subscribing and all that. Nothing seems to work with Alert configuration, Run-to-Run monitoring, etc. After much attempt and exhaustion, I abandoned this direction and hooked up XI monitoring via CCMS.
Now in CCMS monitor I can see all alerts (the rules I created have no bearing). I've copied SAP delivered Method - CCMS_Send_Alert_to_ALM to Z Method....and I'm customizing the FM - SALO_SEND_ALERT_TO_ALM to display user friendly alerts. The problem still is I do not have access to payload. But I hope to get there soon.
By using CCMS alerts, BPM alerts, I see messages in Alert inbox and on my Notes server.
I applied all possible notes, activated all sorts of services, included needed parameters, you name it! I still do not see Alerts via conditions and rules and any meaniful messages in Run-to-Run monitoring. Run-to-Run monitoring shows no errors when there are errors in XML monitor.
By the way, I have the background job scheduled and frequency set and has no impact. The background job runs happily with no Alerts.
However, CCMS background job runs successfully - ZGY_SAP_CCMS_MONI_BATCH_DP and sends Alerts.
I continue stay Alert on any Alert questions and answers!
    BTW, we are on SP12
    thanks,
    Parimala

  • Issues wth Alert config

    Hi,
    I am doing Alert configuration,
i have Administrator role and i am done with alert category, container but when i try to create Fixed recipeints or user roles nothing happens ,no pop ups no error nothing,
Also in RWB-->alert configuartion there's "404   Not Found" displayed, i searched in sdn for this error even tried with solution suggested
to put an full host name (in my case its of 13 characters instead of 20 characters as told in one of the discussions) in exchange profile and restaring the J2ee engine,
but still with the same error,
i have gone thru the discussions in sdn on the same err which i am encountering ,
can anyone help me out, wud be great help
    thanks,
    Pratibha

    hi pratibha,
kindly check transaction RZ10, there give the profile as "Instance Profile with extended maintenance". There you specify the parameter 'icm/host_name_full' and specify there your full host name.
After you make the changes kindly restrt your XI server.

  • Error when i trying to start Alert Config from REB

    HI,
    Here is the error,
    404   Not Found
    SAP J2EE Engine/6.40
The requested resource does not exist.
Details:   Go to main page of this application!.Kindly let me know what should do i do for this.
    Regards,
    Madhu

I have encountered exactly the same problem as you.
first go to exchange profile, change port RuntimeWorkbench -> com.sap.aii.rwb.server.centralmonitoring.httpport to 80xx.
then if your hostname is not in domain, add it to a virtual domain.
you can achieve this by call t-code:rz10, change parameter icm/host_name_full , add a virtual domain.
then check any BSP application to see whether it can run.
    good luck

  • Alert rule not working! Please help!

    Hi All,
I have a Async XI scenario IDOC ---> XI -
    > JMS
In order to receive alerts if JMS adapter or server is down, I have configured alert rule in runtime workbench. The associated alert category is setup correctly with fixed recipients.
Following are the settings in my alert rule.
       1. Conditions: Connected to message - Not Relevant
Sender component: I have given my IDOC source system.
Receiver component : I have given by JMS target system.
           Remaining all values: *
       2. Where did the error occur? : No Restriction
Now for testing purpose if I give a junk server name in JMS communication channel and send the IDOC from source system, then I found that the corresponding XI message is showing as successfully processed. AT the same time in communication channel monitoring in runtime workbench I get an error:
Error creating JMS connection. JMS provider gave error message as Failed to connect to the server
But I don't receive any alert. Why? Is there anything wrong with the alert rule?
Why is the message in XI showing successfully processed even though there is an error in adapter?
Is this the normal behavior of any Async communication?
Please help! I am struggling with this issue for a long time.
I will be grateful if somebody can help me.
    Thanks & Regards
    Gopal
Edited by: GOPAL BALIGA on Mar 23, 2009 9:31 AM

    Dear Gopal,
you have a couple of questions...
    1. Even thought the receiver communica channel is in error , why is the moni showing successfully processed?
Ans...This is not an unusual behavior... what is happening is as your mapping is correct the message is passing through the IE properly but when the adapter engine ( JMS receiver channel ) tries to coomunicate with the receiver JMS system it is giving error ..as u have given some wrong server details
    2. Alert e-mail not received
chk whether the alert catergory u created is attached to your alert rule..
you can do this in the alert configuration tab in the RWB
Also you need to activate your alert rule ..this again can be done in alert config tab..there is a chkbox of "rule activation".
Givind points is another way to say thanks

  • Send Alerts(e-mail) for errors in SXMB_MONI(message mapping exceptions)

    Good afternoon !
I´m configuring SAP Netweaver PI 7.0(SP13) to use Alert Framework to send Alerts when errors occurs in the interfaces processing.
I just achieved configure to send alerts when errors ocurrs in the Adapter Framework but, I can´t configure correctly to send alerts when errors ocurred only in SXMB_MONI(for example, message mapping exception in asyncronous interface).
I just followed the instructions at Michal Krawczyk
weblog(/people/michal.krawczyk2/blog/2005/09/09/xi-alerts--step-by-step) and, initially, this was not sufficient to start to send alert when errors occurs only on SXMB_MONI, so, I researched and found some configurations to do in CCMS(started from here: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/e3/bf3b7a8ccb8040b638ff732c551aeb/content.htm), jobs to start events collectors, etc, and after this, I could see a mail for an message mapping exception. BUT, this message, sent from CCMS to ALM, doesn´t carry out all the message parameters, like message Id, sender(service, interface), receiver(service, interface), that is very important to help to find the message with errors to be solved.
There is somebody here that already done the Alert configuration to send messages for errors found only in SXMB_MONI(Monitor for processed XML Messages) ?
There is a better way to achieve this ?
            Thank you for your attention,
