Alert for Inbound message errors

Hi
We are updating the inventory using ProductActivityNotification inbound XML message from SAP PI. But when it fails due to some error(e.g Shipping party invalid) , we need to raise an alert or send mail, Could you please let us know how to configure it.

Rosettanet Inbound message erroring with error

Hi,
We are getting ""PI with the name 'xml' can occur only in the beginning of the document" error for inbound messages in Rosettanet format. This is happening for only one TP, but there is no difference in the message format except few extra lines.
The TP is confirming that the message is getting generated using "BizTalk" server.
Any suggestion to fix the issue is highly appreciated.

XML file is invalid. Make sure that "<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>" is the first line in the XML and there are no characters/spaces before it. There should be only one occurance of <?xml in the incoming XML and that too in the prolog I mentioned above. An following occurrence must be escaped using CDATA tag.

Alerts for SXMB_MONI mapping errors, RWB errors

Hi,
We are having solman 7.0 with EHP1/oracle on HP-UX.
I have to configure CCMS alerts for SXMB_MONI mapping errors, RWB errors for PI system(SAP EHP 1 for SAP NetWeaver 7.1).
I cant find any MTE related to SXMB_MONI mapping errors or RWB errors under the PI system in my CEN.
So, can anyone please guide me to configure this?

Hello Nanda,
you have to configure ALert Categories in the Alert Framework (ALM) before any MTE are shown in CCMS. And then you would see the MTE in the local CCMS of your PI system.
Configuration steps are descirbed in the PDF "Setup Guide for Interface Monitoring" under http://service.sap.com/bpm > Media Library > Technical Information. In thisdocument you can also learn how the CCMS MTEs can be integrated with Business Process Monitoring in SAP Solution Manager. And actually BPMon provides some new monitoring capabilites for the Java part of PI that are not covered via CCMS at all.

Ack for Inbound messages

Hello All,
I already worked with acknowledgements of outbound messages(and processing them in orchestration in case of failure etc). But now I have a requirement to generate acknowledgements for inbound messages, like I need to generate a custom outbound acknowledgement
for every inbound message. I know it can be done in an orchestration, but is this something can be done with pure messaging. For inbound message, the transport is FTP(it would have been good if it was a HTTP/SOAP port).
(I'm not doing any EDI here, so, I'm not talking about EDI 997, this is purely BizTalk messaging.)

You can still do it Messaging only, but it would require a custom Pipeline Component to create the ACK message on the Send side.
In this scenario, an Orchestration would just be easier. The one issue you might face is whether or not the FTP Adapter will write a 0 length file. Sorry, I just don't recall. The File Adapter will not, that's for sure.

Alerts for content conversion errors

What my assumptionis is, due to any error in file , if content conversion fails, that information would come as alert would be useful for me.

The Alerts can be raised for Adapter Errors. If the File Adapter goes into any reason then you can raise the Alert.
YOu can configure Alert Rules for the Same.

PI 7.0 SP15 alerts JMS Duplicate message error

Hi all,
We have a scenario where in we receive BAPI calls to R/3 from web through MQ and XI.
WEB -> MQ->XI->R/3 (Request / Response send back similarly)
We have modular configuration in the channel.
All these BAPI messages are queries needed to build an order for example product information / customer information etc.
We have PI 7.0 SP15
Sometimes we receive the error ' Duplicate JMS message with JMS ID##### detected.Duplicate will be ignored' in the sender JMS channel.Because of this error XI is not able to process subsequent messages and the channel keeps on throwing the same error.We need to clear the queue and then restart the channel to make it work.
Can any one please tell me what is the reason for occurence of this error..?
Is this ID generated in JMS or in XI?If so how this could be handled without clearing the queue's..?
When we analyzed the messages in the queue we found out same xml messages been send twice which i would imagine the query been send twice(which is a possiblity from the web) would that have caused this JMS duplcate message error??!!
Also because of this error XI is throwing multiple alert messages at the rate of 3 per second which is causing the huge performance hit as the alert inbox gets filled up..We did put the suppress multiple alert check..but before somebody reacts to these alerts there are numerous of them created..any suggestions on this is much appreciated..

Alert for adapter engine error

Hello experts
We have configured the alerts for the adapter engine errors .We have configured the variable &SXMS_TO_ADAPTER_ERRTXT& element which is having the CHAR70 type for getting the adapter engine error text in the alert inbox.so for any adapter engine error greater than 70 chracters ,it is getting truncated to 70 chracters only.but we want to have the whole adapter error log text.
Can anyone please throw some light on this.

Workitem not triggered for Inbound IDOC Error (ORDERS05)

Many thanks for your response, well i did run the report name that you said me.. when i executed that report i got a workitem as "ALARM Message from Active IDoc Monitoring" and workitem for EDI syntax errors"EDI: Partner profile inbound not available"
But my objective remains unsolved.. i need the error status of idoc to be generated, do u have any idea or solutions, kindly share it as its the 3rd day that am still into the same task....

Alert for XI messages in a Holding status

Is there a way to trigger an alert in XI 3.0 sp20 for messages that are in a holding status. Right now I am manually checking using the RWB but I would like to trigger an alert if messages are holding for an extended period of time. I have setup Email alerts for messages that have an error status but I can't seem to find out how to setup for messages that are holding.

Alerts for Text messages.

I have sounds imported from my last phone to use on my new Droid Incredible. I have certain sounds I want to use for text message alerts from my last phone. How can I get them set or am I stuck with just the supplied ones that came with the phone. I know how to set tones for contacts, but cant figure out how to do it for text messages.

Create the following folders in your sd card. Move or copy your ringtones to the proper folder and they will show up automatically on the right list.

\media\audio\alarms

Sound alert for Nokia Messaging email

Hi
I am using Nokia X6 and this is about the nokia messaging email. Earlier I used to get a email alert notification (sound) when a new mail used to come. But now it is not coming. Every 5 mins i keep checking if i got a new mail manually.
Tried resetting the phone to factory setting. Still not getting
Even checked the setting at the location:-
menu -> settings ->personal->profiles->general->personalise-> email alert tone (email2.acc). But this setting seems to be for "mail for exchange" (the one in message folder) and not for nokia messaging email.
Any pointers to solve this would this be of help

You've checked to see if you have notifications muted ? That will mute notification sounds (including games), but the Music and Videos apps, and headphones, still get sound.
Depending upon what you've got Settings > General > Use Side Switch To set to (mute or rotation lock), then you can mute/unmute notifications by the switch on the right hand side of the iPad above the volume switch (if that setting is set to 'notification mute'), or via Control Centre (setting set to 'rotation lock') : swipe up from the bottom edge of the screen and it's the right-most of the 5 icons in the middle of it (if the icon is white then it's 'on', tap it to turn it grey and 'off'). Multiple alerts for one message

Seems like a silly issue, but whenever I receive a message I get two vibrations/beeps from the Touchpad instead of one (what I was expecting). Is there a setting I am missing?
Also, I don't really need a noise/vibration for outgoing messages. Can this be disabled?

Yes, you can disable the vibrate function under Sounds & Ringtones, turn off Vibrate.
I have not heard of double alerts and have not experienced this on my own Touchpad. You may want to perform a restart on your device to see if this will resolve this issue.

Email alert for fault message

Hi guys
i have define a fault message for a Async interface where the proxy is going to send back a fault message .
This will show up as applilcation error within PI..
I wanted to confirm if this will raise a email alert ??? I think it will

When you return fault message (application error) as response , PI will treat as response message. This is not something like system error. In this case mesg process will be completed.

Only if you use CCBPM and raise exception via control step then you can send mails via alert configuration. In your case you will not get any email unless you create custom coding.

Why does my iPhone SOMETIMES not sound alert for new Messages?

Sometimes the iPhone (7.1) will peep with whatever sound is selected and sometimes not. I expect there's some pattern to this, maybe even a setting but I've not been able to dope that out. The two iPhones in my family both behave similarly, so I don't think it's a hardware or software error.
At first, I thought no-peeping happened when Messages was open on the screen, but then I caught it peeping like that. Now I'm puzzled - can anyone clue me in on what rule/algorithm/controls are for this?

Go to Settings>Notifications>Messages>Repeat Alerts
Change this to "Never" and it might help. If not, then you may have the same alert sound you use for messages for another app such as Mail, meaning whenever you were to get mail, it would make the sound, yet no notification pops up due to your default settings. This is the most likely possibility.
