Alert Messages in WAD in Web Reporting

Hai Friends,
Good morning... i have one requirement.. that is.. in my report i used filters.. in my first filter that will be displayed all the values of particular charecterstic... from that i can choose any value... after selecting the values.. if i press the button(one command button) , now based on that selected value my query qill be executed.. and results should be displayed.... i
<b>my requirement is... when i select the particular value.. if there is no related data i... , then i want to display one message... that is.. you have no data(like Error message</b>)
SO, Is there any option is there... for displaying alert messages... plz help me....

Adding messages to the Variable entry screen in web report

I need to add a message or note to the variable selection screen on a web report. I need this message or note to be displayed somewhere on the same screen with the variable list. I found something similar in BW Expert regarding pop-up messages, but this does not work with web templates. Does anyone know of a way to add a static (or dynamic) message to this initial screen of a web report?

In my clients place, they are ready to do the SAP Mod based on "CL_RSR_WWW_VARIABLE_SCREEN" to have a Alert Message which sort of based on different idea.
Does anyboay have an idea on where to make the change?

Change order of key figure is not working in Web report output (using WAD)

Hi,
We are using BI 7.0, release 701 and level 008. We are facing problem in WAD (web report output). When ever we do 'Select filter' for key figures and 'change the order' of key figures, it does not get reflected in new order. Though drag and drop of key figures is working.
Though same change order is working fine in Bex Analyser.
Kindly suggest some inputs.

How to stop printing the crystal report with an alert message

I am having a field called "APPROVAL" in my stored procedure with which I prepared the CR. I want that if the value in the filed is 'A' then only the crystal report should print else it should prompt with an alert message.

Check this helps you:
Create an alert from "Report -> Alerts -> Create or Modify Alerts" with below steps:
1. Provide name of the alert (say Alert1)
2. Click on X+2 in front of "Message" field and write the Alert message you want to display.
3. Click on Condition button and write the condition If not({APPROVAL}='A') then true;
The above Alert will prompt with configured alert message when {APPROVAL} field is not having value of 'A'
Now, in a formula, write below content and display it where you want to display the APPROVAL field value:
If {APPROVAL} = 'A' then
{APPROVAL}
This formula content will be blank if the value of {APPROVAL} is not 'A'

Display an alert message through javascript when report column item is null

I have a report column item which is an select list item and now i want to display an alert message when value is null, I mean no value is selected, this alert message should be fired when update button is clicked.

How to display alert message box in sharepoint 2013 visual web part?

Hi,
I am developing a visual web part which submits data to the list. Once it submits the data, I should convey to the user that the data has been submitted successfully.
I tried using clientScript.RegisterStartUpScript etc, but, none of them are working. It is not throwing any error , but pop up is not getting displayed.
Preferrably, I would like to call this alert message from cs page, because, I will be using it in several places.
Please help me.!

Crystal Reports Alert message pop-up not appearing in InfoView/BO Mobile?

Hi,
I am testing conditional alerts of a crystal report in BOBJ Mobile application. The application is supposed to show a pop-up for the alerts whenever the condition set inside the report document is met, with the creation of any instance in InfoView (the document is scheduled.)
The application is not showing up any alert pop-up.
Moreover, InfoView itself does not seem to show any pop-up alert message (the way Crystal Reports client is showing up in design env) for that particular instance of the report. The alert details are, though, only displayed in the 'instance details' option in InfoView. No pop-up on opening of that particular instance, and also on refreshing that report itself. May be InfoView is designed to manage alerts that way..
How the way should I create my alerts in crystal report as to make them appear as pop-ups in InfoView on instance opening/report refresh. And then, in turn, in my BOBJ Mobile application.

The reason for me to post this thread in Crystal Reports was to get information on how the way the alerts needs to be configured in Crystal Reports as to make a pop-up for them to appear while viewing the instance of the report from InfoView or refreshing the report itself in InfoView.

Occasional message "No data to fetch in query" when viewing a webi report

I am currently working on an exising business Object 3.1 install in which the only user able to access the data in a universe is the Administrator. Permission on all universes and related connection grant data access and view objects permission to all users. Even members of the administrators group are unable to acess data in the webi reports.
If another member of the administrator imports the Universe with Designer and trie to view a list of values they get the message `No sdata to Fetch` but can see table values. Consequently the only user to be able to use the reports is the administrator. I am wondeing if the universe were saved without the `save for all users` box ticked before exporting.
I am now out of ideas and waiting to hear from someone with a few,

Hi PG, No allusers regardless of which group they belong to receive the same message "No data to fetch on query". We were led to believing that the problem is on te Universe level because all users except adminisrtator also get the message when trying to display a list of values, but they can see the data if they click on the "Show table Values". I should also mention that when users try to refresh a webi report they can see and refresh lists of value from the prompt but still get that error message.
Because of the contradictory nature of these symptoms, everyone here is totally confused and we are starting to suspect that it may be some kind of security setup at the database level.

URL error while executing a web report in WAD

Hi,
When I execute a web report through the Web Application Designer, I get the following error:
The requested URL could not be retrieved
While trying to retrieve the URL: http://abcd.efghi.es:8000/sap/bw/BEx?
The following error was encountered:
Unable to determine IP address from host name for abcd.efghi.es
The dnsserver returned:
Name Error: The domain name does not exist.
This means that:
The cache was not able to resolve the hostname presented in the URL.
Check if the address is correct.
But when I execute the web report with the IP of the machine http://123.456.7.893:8000/sap/bw/BEx?...........
I can execute my web report correctly.
I didn't find any options in the menu web template in order to modify the url generation.
Please help me to solve this problem.

Cannot See Wait Icon/Message in Web Report

Hi,
When I run my Web Report, it's taking few seconds to load. In the meantime, it is showing me neither the dialog "Wait the request is being processed!" nor the wait icon.
I understood from the forums that in the BW style sheet the class "SAPBEXPopUp" holds this function and the icon is stored in the MIME repository at /sap/bw/BeX/Icons/loading.gif
How could I add this in my Web template? Do I need to edit the html code? Or is there any web item which helps?
In my template, I just used the table web item and attached a custom query to it.

for setting the cursor to the hourglass use this code in your HTML..
document.form.cursor = 'wait';
as for the dialog , it is a javascript snippet which comes with BW ..
try opening the loading.gif through the MIME reporsitory (SE80) and check if it is active ...
am not sure if there is any setting for the same..
