hi, i am using Oracle 9i and forms 6i, I want to send Alert Message to Clients machine, and Alert message should be show as the MSN Messenge or Yahoo Messenger Mail Alert ,, A show window come-up from the right corner of the monitor (where the System Time display) for a few second ,

Currently we have very limited support for external events coming into the client. You will have to have a timer that checks for changes in some state somewhere to be able to show an alert. The reason for that is that we use HTTP for our protocol and it is a request/response system and the client is always the requester.
In version 11 we will add native support for Oracle DB's Advanced Queueing in Forms. Thru that you can have external events trigger code on the server and have the client show the result of that code, for example an alert.

Late 2007 MacBook Pro is struggling to run, many apps such as iTunes are freezing. I am thinking it is time to do a full system restore to factory, then data restore but do not know how.

Mac is running latest OSX Mavericks software.... But lately, my Mac is crashing repeatedly when I attempt to use iTunes or iBooks, both also the latest releases. Syncing with either iTunes or iBooks is nearly impossible. No disk repair or verification errors. I am thinking that there is some rogue software glitch that has me. I am thinking that I need to do a factory reset followed by a time machine data recovery. I have never done this, does anyone know how? Other ideas, that are not so dramatic?

I am very confused about what the following pertain to in changing volumes/ring tones:
-Browser (Web browser? If so, what's the sound for?)

-Messenger- Alert
-Messenger- New Message
-Tasks (is this for the calendar?)
Also, how do you change the alert ring for when you get a new voice mail?

MACbook Pro Operating VERY slow

Let me first clarify, I have a mid 2010 Macbok Pro with a 2.53 GHz Intel Core i5 processor, 8 GB of 1067 MHz DDR3 Memory with a 500 GB Sata Disk Hard drive.
I have had speed issues since downloading OSX Mavericks and my problem keeps getting worse. Around the same time I upgraded to LR5 (lightroom 5). At first I though LR5 was the main culprit. I thought it was a memory hog (still think it is to an extint). So I started closing all other programs whille running LR5 (I did a force quite to make certain nothing else was running in the background). It seemed to make an improvement....for about an hour, then I started having speed issues again. Each time I went to load a new image, I would wait sometimes up to 30-60 seconds. I have played with several settings in LR and spent some time on forums reading about issues and trying to find fixes.
Then one day, while LR was clsoed (I have it open most of the time), I found I experienced several slow down issues onmany other programs. My mail, when I had multiple web browsers open, when ever I seemd to have more than 1 or 2 applications open and running. I thought maybe some of my RAM isn't working any longer. Not the issue according to what I can tell, it seems to be working. So over the last sevral days, I have tried multiple things:
I cleared up space on the Hard Drive. It was very low...down to 17 GB. It gets this way sometimes becasue I am a photographer, but I alwasy move last months images once I enter a new month, so this wasn't anything new. Still, I cleared up space. I now have almost 43 GB of free space. This seemed ot help for about 2 hours and then all the sudden speed issues again.
I installed Omni Disk Sweeper to see if it could find files I wasn't aware were still on my system. Thought maybe I can remove some of them to free up more space. I did find several images on some temp folder I wasn't aware of and I didn't need the images any longer, so I cleaned those up to help get the free space I have now. That also seemed to help fopr an hour or two and then more speed problems.
I then installed ClamXav based on a similar issue I read on the Apple forum. I started trying to run it on the entire user profile I have. Because that is a large area, that is taking exremely long. During trying to run it, on several occasions, my system bogs down (I had everyhting else closed) and it stops running for several minutes and tI ge the ebach ball as usual. Three times, it never seemd to unfreeze, so I had to power down to restart. During the first time I tried running it, it said it found an itm which may have been maleware called Mac Security. It was only an install package and I found nothing else installed or downloaded besides the install package. I don't recall installing anything with that title, but I vaugly recall seeing some add awhile back for it saying it could improve my speed issues. I downloaded the install package, but after reading about the software, I didn't download the package and thought I removed the insatll package as well. So I removed the install package and cleaned out the trash.
Since then, I have tried running the ClamXav again three diferent times and each time it freezes after severela hours and doesn't go any further. The only other thing it keeps finding are exlm files. As I understand, these are related to my Apple mail and are not an issue, so I ddi not deleter them.
Bottom line, is I am tired and fed up. I am by no means a computer expert on either hardware or software and konw just enough to cause myself more trouble. I don't have the cash right now to get my macbook serviced, so I am hoping I can find help here. Any suggesitons are certainly welcomed.

use alternative software that doesn't require you to put bad antipiracy software on your mac that slows it down.

The next categories are loaded at startup and are potential causes for poor performance, as they run all the time, in the background. I've marked the more suspicious ones in red. I'd address those first.
Kernel Extensions:
         com.Cycling74.driver.Soundflower          (1.5.2)   There was just a post yesterday about this one, which is also a frequent flyer on the misbehaving bad driver list. I’d get rid of it. It’s probably in /Library/Extensions or /System/Library/Extensions. I'd remove it, restart your mac, retest your performance. You can run etrecheck again to make sure it's gone.

The way this works with the Daemons and Agents is that you should try to remove the entire app that is responsible for the daemon or agent. This can involve some detective work. These are .plist files, and if you just try to remove the .plist file itself it probably won't work, because of two reasons:
when the app runs again, it will just generate the .plist file again
Mavericks caches .plist files more than before, and nobody seems to know exactly how to get rid of them from the cache yet. I've asked on this forum and no answers so far.
So the thing to do is uninstall the app that puts the daemon or agent there. The way to do this is:
figure out what the app is that is responsible for that daemon. A browser search for that daemon may help.
then use the uninstaller provided by the developer to remove all of the app. Unfortunately, one of the hallmarks of crapware is there is usually no uninstaller. So in that case, another web search, e.g., "uninstall xxx" , where xxx is the name of the app, may be helpful.

Depending on your level of experience you may not be comfortable digging around in your Mac's system files to remove all these various bits of software. In that case, try removing just the soundflower and protec, as those are more discrete and should be easier to remove. Then restart your mac and rerun etrecheck and see how your performance is.

Why isn't email an option in my profile settings? Help!

Hello folks. I'm new to blackberry use and have noticed that mine only displays a blinking red light when i get new email. I did some research and it appears I can change this in my profile setting. But when I try to do so, Email doesn't appear to be one of the settings.
I inherited this thing from work and am somewhat confused. All my says under active is:
Browser, level 1 messages, Messages (desktop), messernger alert, messenger new message, etc etc. It doesn't seem to have email on it.
Can anyone shed some light? thanks.

Try BB Light software to make your BlackBerry glow when receiving messages.
You're office mail is configured and your on BlackBerry Enterprise Service (BES), meaning you're getting your work email. This means your Message (desktop) is your work email notification. Now you can integrate personl emails on BlackBerry using the following steps -
Go to Email Settings icon on your device
Login using the user name and password (if already set by you)
Under Services click on Email Account
Click on Add An Email Account to integrate any POP or IMAP enable email (i.e... gamil, hotmail, ISP mail etc)
To create BlackBerry.net ID click on Create A BlackBerry Email Address
Type your preferred User Name and enter your Password for that ID
After every successful email integration you'll receive an confirmation email from Activation Server. That's it!! You're done with BIS email ID integration.

2012 MBP Repeatedly Hangs - Interpret Diagnostics?

Can someone help me interpret the results of the diagnostic test I've run? I'm trying to isolate the cause of the sudden onset of my 2012 MBP suddenly hanging every 10-30 minutes. It doesn't matter what programs are in use or not in use or whether connected to wifi, within the last week it has consistently stopped responsiveness and reverted to beachball upon every re-boot.

Where Can I Find The "Set Alert" Feature in Blackberry Messenger 5.0

Hello,
I just upgraded my Blackberry Messenger from version 4.5 to 5.0.0.57 on my Curve 8310. However, in BB Messenger 5.0, I cannot figure out how to turn on the "set alert" feature that is available in BB Messenger 4.5 The "set alert" features allows you to know when an instant message has been read by the person you sent it to. This is an invaluable feature for me (and I believe for many other), hence I cannot believe BlackBerry removed this feature in BB Messenger 5.0.
Any help regarding this topic is greatly appreciated.

Honestly, I've never seen a setting for that. But, even with no such setting, I see the receipts just fine in all 1:1 conversations. Group conversations, however, don't show receipts -- and I don't recall any prior version showing such for groups.

Facebook and Messenger Alert Tone

Hello, I have a question about the IOS Facebook and Messenger app. I am trying to find out if it is possible to change the default sound that you get when you get a messenger notification. It only plays the "ding" and I cannot seem to find an option to change it. I am using an Iphone 6 with everything up to date. Thanks!

You should be able to change the default alert sounds by going to Settings > Notifications and then select the apps that you want, for you Facebook and Messenger app and select the alert sound that you want.

Facebook messenger notification alert

Maybe someone can answer this question. I was told on some recent updates to the iphone that when you get a private message or friend request from facebook you can now get a alert sound notification informing you. I know on the older ios versions I was told that you did not have a option to get a ringtone notification like sms or email sound.
I do know on the android system, when anyone sends a friend request or any other thing on facebook you get an alert. Im considering upgrading to the iphone 5 and wanting to get this feature like what is on the android phones. If this feature is on the iphone 5 can you tell me the steps in order to get the messenger ringtone sound. Thank you for your advise..

Messenger notification/alert no longer working

My friend purchased a Verizon Curve a week after I did. His Messenger alert stopped working. He did a clean reset and wiped everything clean. After a week, it stopped working again. It is the only program that the ringtone that is not woking on. He did the typical battery pull. Checked and rechecked the profile. He is technically very savvy, and I guarantee it is not a setting, since he checked them multiple times over. He swears it's a bug. The problem with that is that I have the same phone purchased aweek earlier, and I don't have that problem.

No alert on Phone Messenger

Hi,
We are using IP Phone messenger installed on Presence Server ver 6.x
We are able to send & receive messages to users who are subscribed to IPPM services but we do not get any alert/visual notification/beep on receiving IP phone.
Can somebody guide where could be the problem ?

had You any news ? I'm having the same issue. The messeges correctly arrives to the phone, but they get not notified ( with a previuos installation I done, there was a popup with the message on every phone ).

Mac messenger doesn't show alerts when contacts sign in

it was not until yesterday that this has happened. i don't receive alerts when contacts sign in anymore, only when they message me. all the boxes except display alerts when my status is do not disturb is unchecked. (no, my status is not on do not disturb).
i've tried uninstalling it then reinstalling it.
i've tried clearing my account history.
i've tried checking it, then unchecking it, then signing out then back in.
anyone have any ideas?

I have noticed that when someone on my list signs in or when I receive a new email message there is no alerts. I had checked my preference and the option "play sound for alerts" was checked. I am using MSN messenger 5.0.

Amigos, soy Chileno y buscando eh encontrado la solucion por lo menos en mi caso para el problema de notificaciones para el 5s.
Lo que debemos hacer primero es ir a la aplicacion de Facebook en el celular, entrar a configuracion de la cuenta/ luego a privacidad/ luego a sesiones activas ( en mi caso tenia 12 sesiones activas). Le di cerrar a todas las sesiones y deje solo la que funcionaba en mi Iphone 5s con ios 7. Luego de eso sali de la configuracion y desactive mi cuenta de facebook. Espere 2 minutos y volvi a activarla introduciendo mi usuario y contraseña en la misma aplicacion lo que provoco la reactivacion de mi facebook y ahora...
La aplicacion de facebook aparecio automaticamente en el centro de notificaciones ! recibo todas las notificaciones de esta y la puedo configurar con tiras, globos, etc.
Me despido, esperando que esta solucion les sirva y porfavor comenten si fue util mi explicacion o si falta algo !

JApplet to create Messenger like alert window

I have a JApplet which allow users to perform daily business process, mostly using the whole container, without any JFrame and JWindow.
JDK used: 1.5.0_09
Now, I need to implement some sort of Collaboration system, to alert the user whenever there is an email from "XXX" sender.
I tried to create a JWindow everytime when I wan to alert the user,
I have set the JWindow setAlwaysOnTop(true), so that it will appear on top of the JApplet to improve visibility.
But the problem is whenever the JWindow shows/pops up, the focus from the JApplet (browser) is transfer to that JWindow.
I did a test to comment the setAlwaysOnTop statement, every JWindow popups won't gain the focus, but will have the problem of JWindow appear at the back of the JApplet (browser)
How do I create a JWindow (that appears in front of the JApplet/browser) without gaining the current JApplet focus?
