Unable to login in to Mac App Store using valid account.
I recently inherited a spare MacBook Air from my wife (who got a new one). I deleted her user account, and set up a new admin user account for me. The machine is running 10.7.5.
Now, I am absolutely unable to login to the App Store. I am using my valid Apple ID -- for example, the same Apple ID that I used to gain access to this very forum. System Preferences accepts my ID. iTunes accepts my ID. BUT the App Store will aboslutely NOT respond. It will not load. I get the red "connection failed" alert, and then after several tries it doesn't respond at all.
It doesn't give any option to switch users -- perhaps once the original owner has used the App Store, the computer will never again allow anyone else to use it? It doesn't say that there is another user logged in. There appears to be no way of deleting and reinastalling the App Store. There is no cache file I can find to be cleared. There is no preference option. There is no information. There appears to be no way of fixing this at all, short of wiping the hard drive and reinstalling the operating system. Is that what I have to do? WHY IS THIS SO HORRIBLY DESIGNED? And why is there no support short of the forum? I hate this about Apple (despite being a long-time Apple evangelist and OSX devotee).
Thanks. The first thing you should do after acquiring a second-hand computer is to erase the internal drive and install a clean copy of OS X. How you do that depends on the model. Look it up on this page to see what version was originally installed.
If the machine shipped with OS X 10.4 or 10.5, you need a boxed and shrink-wrapped retail Snow Leopard installation disc, which you can get from the Apple Store or a reputable reseller — not from eBay or anything of the kind. If the machine has less than 1 GB of memory, you'll need to add more in order to install 10.6. I suggest you install as much memory as it can take, according to the technical specifications.
If the machine shipped with OS X 10.6, you need the gray installation discs that came with it. If you don't have the discs, order replacements from Apple. A retail disc, or the gray discs from another model, will not work.
To boot from an optical disc, insert it, then reboot and hold down the C key at the startup chime. Release the key when you see the gray Apple logo on the screen.
If the machine shipped with OS X 10.7 or later, it should boot into Internet Recovery mode when you hold down the key combination option-command-R at the startup chime. Release the keys when you see a spinning globe.
Once booted from the disc or in Internet Recovery, launch Disk Utility and select the icon of the internal drive — not any of the volume icons nested beneath it. In the Partition tab, select the default options: a GUID partition table with one data volume in Mac OS Extended (Journaled) format. This operation will permanently remove all existing data on the drive, which is what you should do.
After partitioning, quit Disk Utility and run the OS X Installer. When the installation is done, the system will automatically reboot into the Setup Assistant, which will prompt you to transfer the data from another Mac, its backups, or from a Windows computer. If you have any data to transfer, this is usually the best time to do it.
You should then run Software Update and install all available system updates from Apple. If you want to upgrade to a major version of OS X newer than 10.6, buy it from the Mac App Store. Note that you can't keep an upgraded version that was installed by the previous owner. He or she can't legally transfer it to you, and without the Apple ID you won't be able to update it in Software Update or reinstall, if that becomes necessary. The same goes for any App Store products that the previous owner installed — you have to repurchase them.
If the previous owner "accepted" the bundled iLife applications (iPhoto, iMovie, and Garage Band) in the App Store so that he or she could update them, then they're linked to that Apple ID and you won't be able to download them without buying them. Reportedly, Apple customer service has sometimes issued redemption codes for these apps to second owners who asked. -
Unable to login to my WindowsPC after installing new iTunes version 7.4.3.1
Hi all,
I just received an alert saying a new version of iTunes was available and I went ahead and installed it. After the install the system prompted me to restart. I did the restart and now I am unable to log back into the system.
I tried my local and domain accounts and all that happens is it starts the login process and says loading local settings and then says logging off and gives me back the login screen.
I am unable to gain access to the system through normal settings and or safe mode. I fear that if this is a iTunes problem we're going to have major problems at my clients who do allow this application on their network.
Any thoughts, issues on or about this?
Please advise.
Thank you,
~The Suite~Hi Timmy,
Thank you for the comments and feedback. I had logged into the system when I got in this morning and nothing else was installed nor changed. The iTunes update was the only change between the successful login and now me being unable to login.
I am doing some rollbacks and will see what happens.
Thank you,

Hi. I am unable to login to my account on a MacBook Air (mid 2013): when I enter my password it waits for a second, the screen flickers and then it brings me back to the login screen.
The problem began two days ago when I closed all desktops but one, and then hooked up an external monitor with a VGA adapter. The Mac froze, so I did a cold reboot and since then it won’t allow me to login.
I am, nevertheless, able to login as both a guest user and as an admin, and I have successfully created a new account, so it looks like the problem is user-specific. But this happens also when I do a safe boot, so it doesn’t seem to be related to any launch agents/daemons.
I have tried the following suggestions which I have found online:
1) resetting my password in safe mode
2) finding and deleting “com.apple.LaunchServices-*.csstore” for my user id (http://http://junkheap.net/blog/2011/09/22/solving-a-login-loop-in-mac-os-x-lion -due-to-corrupt/)
3) resetting file flags, and access permissions for all the files in my home directory and resetting the ACL for all files in my home directory (https://discussions.apple.com/thread/6237421?searchText=login%20loop)
None of these has worked.
In one of the forums where suggestions were given, someone provided a bash diagnostics script which when run, produced the output attached at the end of this message. It seems that it is related to a WindowServer crash, but doesn't say much else
What could be the problem, and what can I do to solve it?
Thanks

I'm doing a workaround: creating a new user, moving all data in there, changing file ownerships. So far so good.
Also, new info: I found the WindowServer log and indeed it shows a crash. The function involved does seem to be related to spaces, at least judging from its name.
I'm attaching the log.

Alert monitor for messages in error status
Hi, it is possible to configure de Xi Alert Monitor to show in the message body the error that shows the message monitoring?
In the SOAP header when there is an error y can see a tag "error" and it shows this info (for example):
- <SAP:Error xmlns:SAP="http://sap.com/xi/XI/Message/30" xmlns:SOAP="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" SOAP:mustUnderstand="1">
<SAP:Category>XIServer</SAP:Category>
<SAP:Code area="MAPPING">STARTUP_EXCEPTION</SAP:Code>
<SAP:P1>com.sap.aii.utilxi.prop.api.PropertiesException</SAP:P1>
<SAP:P2>Unable to read configuration data (ExchangeProfil~</SAP:P2>
<SAP:P3 />
<SAP:P4 />
<SAP:AdditionalText />
<SAP:ApplicationFaultMessage namespace="" />
<SAP:Stack>Error occurred while starting the Java application "IntegrationServices"; restart the application</SAP:Stack>
<SAP:Retry>M</SAP:Retry>
</SAP:Error>
It is a way to show any of this information in the message body that sends the Alert monitor?
Regards.
Mariano.Hi,
you will not be able to get the entire msg payload of SXMB_MONI in alert.
But you can create a alert category and in its Long text you can have variables for Error Category and Error Text. So you will get alert mails with Error category and Error Text.

Thanks,
GSIt seems, the location which you have specified for archive log is full.
use following to know space if unix
df -hSo you should move archive file to other location as soon as possible, so that arch process which i hung can proceed.
In order to remove archive file, take RMAN backup and then delete
RMAN>backup archivelog all delete input; -
Alert Monitor Threshold and Information, Warning and Alerts
Hi,
I defined a Forecast Alert Profile that is supposed to display the MAPE Alert in the Alert Monitor when the MAPE for the said selection is > x %. This x as I understand is maintained in the Diagnosis group of the Master Forecast Profile.
I now try to make use of this Threshold Value Description "Variance is > %. and define >(x-10) % but less than x % as information, x % as warning and >(x +20) as error but I am unable to make out how the alerts are determined and whether these values are indeed read (threshold >)
Secondly my Alert may have been originally based on particular selection(s)- some in FG, some in BG. Some of these selections may not be assigned to the Alert Profile and the Planner may not remember at what level the forecast was carried out to begin with. So my query is at what level of selection is the Alert generated when there is no selection assigned to the Alert Profile ?
Thanks
AmitHi, I was hoping someone answers. It was not a profound question I believe
I am also curious to know the same with respect SDP Macro based alerts. When a Macro Alert is triggered at Cell Val > y % and it is called a "warning" per the macro definition, of what good is the information, warning and alert threshold values in the Alert Monitor ?
Does it mean the value 'Y' that I defined in macro step as 'threshold' for alert or process message can be more 'freely' defined in the alert monitor with three distinct values ? I tried testing but I am unable to conclude.
Please help me understand
Thanks

DB2 Alert Monitoring greyed out, CCMS showing red.
Hi guys,
I am a BASIS admin novice, and currently i have encountered 2 issues and need advice from the experts here =)
(1)
Recently, i have encountered a ZDATE_ILLEGAL_LOCTIME runtime error in my server. Unable and not knowing how to resolve, i restart the entired server. However upon successful start up, while the server is running fine, i got the Time Zone Inconsistency error in on Client 000 and Client 300 when executing certain Tcode, example st03.
(2)
While server is running fine currently, i run DB13, under the Alerts->Alert Monitor, my DB2 Alert Monitoring is greyout out and when i go to RZ20, the CCMS for Monitoring Template -> Databases , rest of all except the DB connection is Green.
Any help is really appreciated.
Thank you in advance =)Hi,
ZDATE_ILLEGAL_LOCTIME runtime error in my server
Have you referred this SAP Note 447839 - ZDATE_ILLEGAL_LOCTIME ?
SAP Kernel release ?
SAP_BASIS level ?
OS release?
Have you referred dev_w* traces for the same ?
Also look at SAP Note 110368 - FAQ - CCMS MONITORING INFRASTRUCTURE and other relative notes for your second problem.

Try clearing your cache, [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/How to clear the cache Instructions here]. Then, try going to [https://accounts.google.com Google Accounts]. If there is currently an account singed in, sign out, then back in. After that, try going to Google Adwords.

Unable to Login to Creative Cloud App
Photoshop CC was crashing every time I attempted to open a new file inside of the application (Photoshop would stay open as long as did not attempt to open a file.)
I uninstalled PS CC.
When I attempted to reinstall. I received the following message in the CC app:
"Unknown Server Error: Sign in is currently unavailable. We are unable to access your account. Please try again later."
I ran the CC cleaner, restarted, and reinstalled CC. I am still receiving the message and unable to login.
My password has been reset from the recent security warning, and I am able to login to my Adobe account online, and everything seems to be in order.
I am running on OS X 10.8.5.
HELP, please.Hi Bethany,
Welcome to the Community!
Try Solution 2 in this link: http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/unknown-server-error-launching-cc.html, if doesn't work then try others.

Unable to login with Jabber Windows
Hi ,
Am unable to login the Jabber Windows Client. Getting the error as "Unable to Communicate With the Server".
Able to login with CUPS & CUCM end user page. CUCM Integrated with LDAP.
While going through the UP Profile logs seen that "Failed to SOAP login".
Tried with restart of CUCM & CUPS several times but no go.
CUCM Version - 8.6.2
CUPS Version - 8.6.1
Tried with CUPC client result also same.
Thanks in AdvanceIf credentials work on CCMuser CUPSuser I would suspect either some kind of communication problem between the clients and the servers and/or misconfiguration (user/device/line association, device owner, roles, CTI/CCMCIP profiles, etc) on CUCM/CUPS.
Specially because you mention the same happens with CUPC.
