Alert status GREY in BPM configuration

Hello Everybody,
I am configuring BPM in Solution Manager for "Order to Cash" process concentrating on "IDOC monitoring". The IDOC monitor will monitor the IDOC status in my ECC system, so no need to define interfaces.
The configuration is completed without any errors. But once i go and check the alerts, i see that alert status as GREY.
It says "MTE node inactive".
I have done the following troubleshooting -
1. I have checked the ST-PI and ST-API tools and they are as per the prerequisite.
2. I have assigned the necessary auto reactions in RZ21 again
3.  I have applied SAP note - 1587042
4. I have reorganised the alerts
5. I deleted the corresponding MTE in RZ20 and regenerated the alerts
6. I reset the node
7. The collector status is green
8. Involved SAP in this issue but they are slow in responding.
9. All RFCs working fine
Looking out for an immediate help / suggestions on this issue.
Thanks,
Manan Joshi

  • Alerts through Email Using BPM

    Hi Friends,
can anybody help me on BPM as i am new to BPM.I need a help from you , i want to send an alert through Email using BPM can any body send me a sample scenario related to this one.

In BPM you create the Alerts. In Alert Configuration (in RWB) you can define for each Alter Category whether it is to be forwarded via Email.Prerequisites for that:
    1. XI/PI must have been configured to send Mails (SMTP)
    2. All receivers must have maintained an Email Adress in SU01
    3. Only users defined in XI/PI can get the mails.
    4. Schedule the regular sending of Emails out of the XI/PI system using transaction SCOT
    5. The Mail Server (Lotus Domino or Exchange Server) must accept Mails from XI/PI system (Server and Port). Ask your Mail Guys.
    6. If you do not define the Mail Server as IP address in SMTP configuration take care that the XI/PI is able to resolve Server Name to IP Address (e.g. by maintaining local hosts ob XI/PI).
    Hope this helps!

  • Which driver to use in the BPM Configuration Steps?

    Hi,
I´m in the BPM configuration steps and we will use BPM on a Weblogic Server, I´m in the step when you need to create to JDBC Data Sources for the Enterprise and Directory Databases, do you know which driver shoul I use? should it be XA o Non-XA?
    Thanx in Advanced!
    Kind Regards,
    Gerardo J

Since there are no drivers, you can create your own, request one, use the Instrument I/O Assistant, or hope someone has one and posts it here. For help on creating one or requesting one, see the main Instrument Driver Network page. As long as you are familiar with the instrument and have the manual, creating a driver is not that hard.

  • BPM Configuration Error on Weblogic Configuration

    Hi,
I try to configure BPM Directory and always get error on wlst.sh command
weblogic.common.resourcepool.ResourceSystemException: Cannot load driver class: weblogic.jdbcx.oracle.OracleDataSource
    My system spec:
    - Solaris SPARC 64
    - Weblogic 10.3.0.0 using JRockit 1.6.0_16
    - BPM 10gR3
The configuration error in weblogic configuration.
    Really need help here..
    Thanks
    Regards,
    Eric Wijaya

    Hi Eric,
Just checking: Are you using BPM 10.3.2?
Do you mean the BPM Directory Configuration?Yes, I'm talking about the directory configuration and the engine configuration too.
I've configure the BPM Directory to use BPM's Oracle Driver Version:10,11 which is selected by default by the BPM Configuration Wizard but still got the jdbc driver error. If you are using 10.3.2, you will see that there is another driver called: "Oracle Driver Version:10,11" (without BPM!!). You must use that driver. (if you install the latest 10.3.2 HF, that driver is the default one).
If you don't have that driver, then you are using an older version than 10.3.2. Please migrate to 10.3.2.
    Hope this helps,
    Ariel

  • Can we able to see the Work Items status in the BPM Workspace

    HI,
Can we able to see the work item status in the BPM workspace.
For exampls, I have create the request as requester then it will go for approval.
After sometime i login into the workspace can i able to see my request status(it mean where it is like approval1, approval 2)?
Pls let me know, its possible in the BPM workspace.
    Regards,
    Anandh P

    Hello Anandh,
You can utilse the filter option of the BPM workspace.
When you filter the instances you can view the status of all the instances even if they are currently not assigned to the particular user.
All you need to do is click on the show filter link.
Select the process from the Filter by: combo box.
Check the status boxes and click on apply filter.
You will be able to view the instance even if it is not assigned to you.(Though you will not be able to work on it.)
If you wish to give custom messages like "pending with HR" or "Pending with Admin" then you need to add a column by creating a project variable and mapping it to the custom view. Then these messages can also be shown on the instances.
    Hope ths helps.

  • Problem with BPM Configuration

    Hi,
I'm not able to get the process of BPM Configuration.
    My Scenario is
            File->R/3(BAPI)->File(Response),through BPM
       1.Do i need 2 Business Service?
       Is the flow like this?
          File->IP->SAP->IP->File.
If it is correct then why do I need Business Service?
Correct me if i am wrong.
I'm very much confused with BPM,Need Help.
    Regards,
    Prashanth K.R,

    Hi Prashanth,
    >>1.Do i need 2 Business Service?
no you don't need 2 one is enough
but in fact sometimes it's good to have two...
let's say one folder ackts as a foderl for storing XML files on one server for CRM data
the second on is for txt data for EDI
if you use two then you know which folder is responsible for what...
    BTW
use can define Business Service in less then 20 seconds
    >>>File->IP->SAP->IP->File.
If it is correct then why do I need Business Service?
you use business services to define that file adapter
is not connected to any other application
if you just use a file folder on ftp then you have to create a business service to define the sender/receiver

  • BPM: Confirming alerts doesn't refresh alert status

    Hi Colleagues,
Have anyone dealt with refreshing problems in Solman's BPM?
If I have a red alert and process it, I proceed to confirm the alert.
In this node, status is changed to green (some cases into grey).
If I get back to the first screen in the BPM, process is still in red leading to confusion to our local monitoring team. It doesn´t matter that no other alerts are current unconfirmed.
You can refresh as many times you want, system remains in red.
I have a message in support but response process is really slow.
They just recomended to apply latest version of note 0001255970 but no effects were observed.
We are in ST 400 SP 17.
    Thanks,
    Renato Petrulis

Just as feedback from SAP Support, it´s not an error:
(...) Let me explain the difference between Current Status and Open Alerts a
    little more:
Every MTE (MTE: Monitoring Tree Element. It is the actual measurement that you are interested in. For example, BDocs con ErrorBDocs con Error defined in component BDocs con Error is an MTE) has configurable thresholds. The thresholds define the values which, when exceeded, create an alert instance. Both yellow and red thresholds can be defined. The alert instance records the time at which the threshold was exceeded, and also have a corresponding status i.e. if the red threshold is
exceeded, a red alert instance is created. When you hit the 'Confirm' button, you are actually clearing the alert instances.
Whereas, in the Current Status view, you actually see the current value of the MTE, which can be red or yellow or green irrespective of what hadhappened in the past.
Therefore, the expected behaviour is that when all the alerts are confirmed, the MTE shows green in the Open Alerts view. But the Current Status view continues to show the actual current status, which may be red or yellow or green. Therefore the DSWP transaction is actually working as expected.

  • XI Alerts not working for BPM

We have been live with alert framework for some time, but we recently noticed we are not getting alerts when mapping fails within a BPM.
All other errors are being alerted to us properly.  Is there something we need to configure differently for BPM?

  • Status Ready in BPM

    Hello All,
I have created a control step to trigger alert for success condition in BPM after send step.
When i executed the BPM status ready is showing for the control step in workflow logs.
Will it get executed? Otherwise is there anything else to be added for this to get executed.
    Thanks in Advance
    Rajesh

    Hi Rajesh,
That means it is still waiting for condition to be met. Try checking the technical details of the same. you can use Goto->technical details and check where it is waiting.
Else you can add a switch step in BPM and put the control step in one branch and cancel  in the other . So, in that case atleast one of them will execute and you will come to know what the error is?
    Regards,
    Sachin

  • Alerts or Exceptions from BPM

I have BPM where there are multiple send steps ( Files ) and Sych Sends as well.
I would like to send alert if Send step fails. We donot have CCMS. I would still be able to send alerts to list of Users I guess. How can I achive this.
    BPM steps:
Start - Receive - split - (8 Async sends in Parallel ) - Send Sync - Send Async - Stop
Do I have enclose all 8 Async Sends in a block and add Exception branch ?.

    Hi,
Correct You have to use On block step with exception handle step with 8 send steps..
in exception handle .. put control step , ..
in alrtcatdef.. add users specific .. whatever you want list..
Here all 8 steps with exception name in each send step..and put in fork and this should be in block with exception .. if any one fails raise exception.. by control step in exception handler..
and if you want to stop the execution / process then put another control step to cancel the process..
Else if you eant to continue after raising the alert , you have to use tranformation step and do not put second controlstep..
see some links here to get an idea..
After createing an Alert Category using ALRCATDEF. The next step will be to define an ALERT RULE.
To define an ALERT RULE, just go to your RUN TIME WORKBENCH, and select ALERT CONFIGURATION, and after that , select your ALERT CATEGORY and
and create a rule for that category.
Just check this blog by michael for a complete scenario,
    /people/michal.krawczyk2/blog/2005/09/09/xi-alerts--step-by-step
Now, when you use the report RSALERTTEST under SE38, you will find your ALERT CATEGORY, and will be able to trigger it.
This same ALERT can now be used in your BPM.
The links below on Alert Management (ALM) will be of good help to you:

  • Alert by mail without BPM

I am new for Alert Configuration, no idea how to configure an alert ?
My Scenario is file to RFC.I am doing this scenario with out bpm.
If any case any error comes, i need to send a mail which contains the material number also.
With out BPM how can i achieve this ?
    Study SAP

    hi,
yes u can configure alert without using BPM.
    use the FM  'SALERT_CREATE'.
    steps,
    1) define ur alert category in ALRTCATDEF tcode.
    2) import that category in alert configuration at RWB.
3)define the Rule for that category like sender interface receiver interface..
4)define the fixed recipient (username of the recipient)
    5) now define a udf in which call the FM ''SALERT_CREATE'.
for reference please go through the bhavesh kantilal blog in sdn.
    regards,

    BPM steps are:One recieve step,transformation step,Fork.
Fork Branch-1:Reciever determination and Send Output1
Fork Branch-2:Reciever determination and Send Output2.
I didn't create any correlation ID in BPM.
In the configuration of XI I know that I have to create 3 reciever determinations,3 Interface Determinations, 2 Reciever agreements and 1 sender agreement.
