Alert Transfer/copy

When clicking on transfer on the alert transfer window, I get the error
APP-ALR-04142: Oracle Alert encountered the following UPI error: ORA-12154:TNS:could not resolve the connect identifier specified
on the database field we have the entries
on source database: apps/apps@T:test.domain.com:NCLONE
on destination database: apps/apps@T:test.domain.com:TEST1
using SQL*Net V1 syntax to specify the database location

Sales quotation and sales order are belong to marketing documents. They are sharing the same structure. However, sales opportunity has totally different structure. It is impossible to copy it to sales quotation.

Video transfer/copy to PC

I can transfer photos without problems from my iPhone 4 to my PC. However, it will not copy/transfer my videos taken with my iPhone. Is my PC missing some software that will allow me to do this?

Instead of using the camera wizard, go to "my computer" and find the iPod after you plug it in. Right click and select "open." Easiest way to choose video only is to right click and select "sort" by "type." The photos and videos will be split in half. Select all the videos and move them to the hard drive to clear up space.

Transfer/Copy purchased Apps upon adding Apple equipment and opening new ID in the family

Upon acquiring ever more Apple equipments in our family, it became overwhelming to manage all with one Apple ID.
A new ID was created with family sharing, etc however I transfer or copy of purchased Apps could not be moved across (even if only used on one ID going forward) which was an unexpected feature.
Having read some older post on similar request, I wonder if in December 2014, Apple requires that customers pay twice for installing or licensing its exact same apps once to a single Apple ID? One post seemed to suggest that copy/paste apps across was an option. If this can be confirmed, I would be most grateful.

If you are referring to an iDevice, sign out of your new Apple ID and sign back in with your old one - they should all be there.

When I try to copy paste, it doesnt paste as a group instead paste as layers, then I have to again group it and name it Why Fireworks doesn't understand that I have copied a set of group layer?

You can share a layer to another page in Fireworks by selecting the layer in the Layers panel, then clicking on the small fly-out menu in the upper-righthand corner of the Layers panel and choosing "Share Layer to Pages". This opens up a two-column dialog, where can select the new page and add it to the right-hand column, "Include layer to page(s)".
As far as moving a layer into another file, you may need to use a Command like "L - Copy to Next Doc" from John Dunning's Frame and Layer Utilities command set:

Transfer/Copy Music from iPod

I have an older 80GB iPod Classic that has a lot of music that I want to back up.
I have tried to transfer the music to my computer different ways, but the only music that will copy is music I purchased on iTunes a week ago. I have music from Cds I no longer have and worry that one day the iPod will stop working and will have lost almost 3000 songs.
I want to be able to have a back-up of all the music, but seem lost.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

iTunes syncing is generally in one direction only, from the computer's iTunes library to the iPod. You cannot use iTunes to transfer song files from iPod to computer, except (as you noted) songs purchased from the iTunes Store.
However, there are third-party methods and utilities that can transfer from iPod to computer. If you do an Internet search on something like "ipod transfer," you should get some links. (The CNET article seems to be popular.)
Once the song files are on your computer's drive, you can add them to your current iTunes library. Going forward, your backup strategy should be to back up your iTunes library (on the computer), not back up your iPod.

Transfer/copy an mp4 video file to iPhone - possible?

I have a MP4 file (in H.264 format compatible with iPhone 3GS) on my Windows 7 computer and I want to TRANSFER it to my 32GB iPhone 3GS so that it is STORED on the iPhone, and can be played back even while being OFFLINE.

Yes, add this file to iTunes. iTunes menu, ADD FILES TO LIBRARY. It will appear under Movies library.

How can I transfer/copy my entire iPhoto library from one iMac to another iMac whilst keeping all the folders and subfolders intact?

We recently purchased a new iMac for our office (8 GB memory, 2.7 processor, version 10.9.2) and we need to copy the iPhoto library from our other iMac (version 10.9.4) onto the new one. The photos are essential for our work and there are around 53,000 of them all organised into folders and subfolders and then the photos are manually ordered within the albums.
We have tried connecting the computers but when we tried to access the iPhoto library on the new iMac it says that iPhoto is locked and we do not have permission to view it. We updated iPhoto on the old iMac as we thought that might be the problem but the message still appears. We've been advised to use an external hard drive but we're worried that will corrupt the organisation of the library. We have also been told not to do it over AirDrop / the Server because of the sheer quantity of photos.
Any advice on how to safely do this would be much appreciated.

did you dimply drag the iPhoto library from the pictures folder of the old machine to the pictures folder of the new machine and then launch iPhoto on the new machine?
and to help it is important to use word correctly since that is the only communications method we have - in iPhoto folders do not contain photos - you view photos in events and you can organize them using albums (which view photos) and folders (which hold either albums or other folders - folders never have photos in them) so your description of the problem is not at all clear since it uses folders incorretly

How do I transfer copied cds from one library to another? I have tried using a jump drive but it doesnt seem to work

A friend gave me her cds to copy so that she could put them on her itunes library and put them on her ipod. she couldnt spare the time for me to do this directly to her computer as she needs it for work all the time and she travels a lot. I copied all the cds to my (default) library although I could log into her account. I then copies them to a jump drive. When I tried to upload them to her itunes library on her computer it does not allow me to do so... Am I doing something wrong or is this a preventative issue so that people dont re-copy CD's. I have no interest in any of her music or CD content and would gladly delete from my library. I just want to be able to upload to her library, I hope this is possible somehow, or I will have to reburn all (200+ CDs again) to an itunes library....

I recently cracked the screen on my 3G iPhone and a have fortunately managed to convince the insurance company to pay for a new one.
I'd like to be able to transfer all my contacts, apps aand setting to the new phone. Only problem is I have to give back the old phone to get the new one.

The iPhone is designed to be synced with the supported applications on your computer for contact info, calendar events, and bookmarks. To transfer iTunes content and photos from your computer to your iPhone requires syncing with iTunes. Photos captured by your iPhone should be imported by your computer as with any other camera. The imported photos can be transferred back to your iPhone via the iTunes sync process.
iTunes also creates and maintains a backup of your iPhone that includes data such as most iPhone settings, email account settings, SMS messages, notes, recent calls, call favorites, 3rd party app settings and data created and stored by 3rd party apps, contact info, and photos captured by your iPhone - but not a good idea to depend on the backup only for the last 2. Sync contact info with a supported application on your computer and import photos that were captured by your iPhone before giving up your iPhone. You can restore your new iPhone from your existing iPhone's backup followed by a sync.
