Alerts for Communication Channels

Hi All,
I wanted to know whether it is possible to trigger alerts if an error occurs in the communication channel.If yes,how do I go about it?

Hi,
For Alert rules configuration:
Remove the Check from Suppress Multiple Alerts of this Rule
For where did the error occur, see that you have selected Radio button with 'No Restriction
When creating the Alert Category, have u put some parameters in Container tab and Long and Short text.
If allt he above is done check if you have any dumps in ST22.

Alert from Communication Channel

Hi All,
In my scenario from File --> XI --> Proxy(ABAP), need to pole the file server folder between 9am to 10am every day . If the file not present at the specified time, need to raise an alert. So please let me know how to schedule the communication channel and from which version of XI it is possible? If it can work, then how to raise an alert?

SMPREL3 abap table contains comm channel info
SMPPREL3: this table contains information about interfaces; here you can find information on sender (party, service, interface and namespace) and receiver (party, service, interface and namespace) as well as information on maps (their GUID and name as well as namespace).
SXMSPFRAWH: this table contains runtime performance data for successful message and sender and receiver information is stored as address id that derive information from SXMSPFADDRESS, from this table you can find out volume and latency also.

DFM Alerts for B-channel backup on Fax

Hi, every time a fax gets sent, this alert is coming from LMS, as the router b-channel interfaces come up.
LMS is complaining that a backup interface had to kick in on the gateway router, and clears after about 5 minutes. I see the router up/up for this duration, then up/down and status cleared.
I have no experience with voice yet, but am assuming this is normal behaviour for call setup and teardown when a fax is sent, right? Should I ignore this and turn off the DFM alert?

By default, DFM classifies ISDN interfaces as dial backup. Obviously this is not the case for this fax interface. You can configure one of the DFM customizable interface groups to match this particular ISDN interface, and then prioritize that group so that it comes before the built-in Dial Backup group. After applying the changes, this event should stop being generated.

Availability Times For Communication Channels

I'm am new to XI. I have been trying to set the Comm channels to run hourly during between the hours of 9:00 AM and 6:00. I have used the Planning availability times procedure to try accomplish this. Just for testing I have the channel set up to run every 10 minutes after an hour I set it up to stop. I receive an alert when ever my comm channel is scheduled to start and stop, but the channel does not stop.Is there something I am missing that still needs set up? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Getting the following error when trying to read the file using Content Conversion.
Conversion of file content to XML failed at position 0: java.lang.Exception: ERROR converting document line no. 2 according to structure 'Tivoli_Row':java.lang.Exception: ERROR in configuration / structure 'Tivoli_Row.': More elements in file csv structure than field names specified!
Pls. suggest me where it's gone struck.

I has given in sender comm channel
=>set processing mode : test
and in Receiver comm channel. am using FTP login
so, here i just read this file and then placed using FTP in R/3 system.
Now, am getting the following error.

Alerts for JMS Adapter

Hi All
I am working on Alert Configuration for Communication channels . I am getting alerts for communication channel but not alerts for Receiver JMS adapter
Created alert catergory & classification
Create alert rule in RWB
Personlized for sending mail .
I tried with new rule for only jms adapter .
I don't want use UDF trigger alerts .
Please help me on this , thank in advance for your help

When you getting alerts for other channel means you have to get it for JMS too alert,JMS adapter part of JAVA STACK ,you can maintain alert rule as AE engine failure errors.
still if it is not working out then
When are you triggering ALERT??when JMS channel fails to connect MQ??when you expecting ALERT from JMS channel,pls check check the channel status in Communicataion channel monitroing.
1)Create one more alert rule to specific to your JMS interface,then test it .

Configuring a Communication Channel for an Adapter Engine other than the default engine.

It states under 'Adapter Configuration', that you can specify the Adapter Engine you want to use in the Adapter Engine dropdown box.
I have activated the XI components on my ERP system using transaction SICF, but what do I have to do to make the other adapter engines show up in the dropdown list when configuring an adapter?
Maybe some background would be helpful: This is for a scenario that will send a file from an external system to one of the ERP systems in our landscape. BUT, the system admins have decided to revoke our FTP accounts (because they have their reasons), so I need to create a File Adapter that will drop the file on the file system of that ERP system, due to visibility I want to use the integrated Adapter Engine that comes with the ERP system, but need to know how/what I'm missing in setting up this scenario.

in order to use some other adapter engine you
have to install it first by dafault only one
(central) adapter engine is used and it is all
most clients need
if you'd like to use some other adapter engine
(decentralized for example) have a look at thid guide:

Party communication channel for multiple stores with multiple user id and passwords in sap pi

Hi Exeperts,
I have a scenario proxy to SAOP . where i am sending some information from my stores to third party company with single user id and password in communication channel.
but requirement is changed now i have 20 stores with 20 user id and password for communication channel.how can i achieve this requirement?
Can i create 20 communication channels for 20 stores or can handle through the party based communication ?
Please help us achieve the requirement.

Hi,
In the SOAP Receiver adapter, you can only store 10 userid/password combinations via Authorization Keys. These are called via Dynamic Configuration via technical name TAuthKey. In your case, for it to work, you need:
1. 2 business components/2 SOAP receiver communication channels.
2. 1 receiver determination with xPath for username to determine correct business component
3. 1 interface determination
4. 2 receiver agreements (one for each cc)

If you use a catching a MAIL - PI ALERT and based on that alert if u creating an IDOC then it is good if u really supress the alert immediately once the ALERT comes but if u really check and supress the ALERT fine Otherwise a CONTINOUS IDOCs will get created at SAP system.
Also there might be some natural generic reasons for communication channel fails
a) somtimes if the target FTP is down
b) if there is some issue with FILE ENOUGH
c) If File adpater is placing same file already exists or with already Opened by some target application
d) Dynamica file naming issue. (technical issue)
WHy cant u do scenario in the below steps without keeping BPM, CATCHING ALERTS which doesnt give exact QUARANTEE
Do one thing make a technical design in such a way into 1 flow or 2 flows in worst case
In INTERFACE MAPPING-->
a) Insert your current Normal Graphical mapping
b) Javamapping:- This code will take the first mapping output as Input through Stream Transformation and create a same FILE through JAVA FTP Comments at specified Cleint Location. I recommend in order to avoid direct interraction of writing a file at client FTP better always write at your Local PI NFS Application outbound directory which doesnt require host name and user and pwd. Even if it requires you can do a RFC lookup and maintain a host, Port, User ID, pwd, Directory, FIle naming pattern in that table or else simply DO VALUE MAPPIING and pass it through XML INPUT from FIrst mapping as additional fields
c) WITH IN THE SAME JAVAMAPPING: -
   If it successfully writes a file - wRite a TRACE log ("FILE NAME+ Sucecssfully written+ File Bytes")
   Then create an simple small XML OUTPUT and PASS that JAVA MAPPING OUTPUT To 3rd Grahical Mapping as Input it might be less than 5KB.
Note: - Remember that this output XML should be ina Multmapping SPLIT MERGET FORMAT with 1 FIELD or required INFO
as KEY FIELD INFO using DOM FACTORY
d) GRAPHICAL MAPPING: -
SOURCE IS JAVAMAPPING OUTPUT and TARGET HAS 2 messages
                       Message 1) SAME INPUT SMALL XML OUTPUT COMING FROM JAVA MAPPING OUTPUT
                       Message 2) IDOC TY{E STRUCTURE
Keep a Condition based on KEY VALUE Coming from source field execute either 1 Message1 or Message 2
In this way you can complete in a single Flow.
Later you can deifnee a simple flow to PICK and DROP from SOURCE file Writing through javamapping to client location Or else
WRITE A small OS SCRIPT and CALL in Receiver FILE COMMUNICATION at OS Command so that while writing a LOG file it will move the file from Source FTP to CLient FTP location.

How to resolve conflict in ID Communication channel

Hi Experts ,
I am getting conflict while importing a communication channel in QA . Basically we have done a change in Interface determiantion in dev system to get this change refelcted iin QA instead of transporting only interface determination whole config scenario has been transported . Transport got imported succesfully but while activating the change list it failed and shown conflict in Communication channel . Now If in Object tab I select SELECTDSPLAYED VERSION then geeting error merge relation is null if selecting the displayed version then changelist get rejected .in that case it works now but in future also I will not able to make any change in the communication channel and whenever I make change and try to activate it it shows the same version conflict issue .
KIndly help me with your inputs in this regard as sooner or later these transport will be moved to production and I want to keep myself prepared before it goes to production.

Sorry for missing out that, this issue is with ID (Integration Directory)
I think this has gone wrong in your case. Only interface determination has been changed, but, you have imported whole configuration scenario (along with communication channels).

Note the following for communication channels: To avoid messages being sent from a productive system to systems in the test landscape, the Integration Builder only exports a selection of attributes. Therefore, address data (host, port) and access data (user, password) are not contained in the export. In the adapter metadata in the ES Repository, such attributes are flagged as not transportable (they depend on the adapter type and are fixed). Once new objects have been imported, you must add the non-transportable attributes in the target system. These additions are retained in any further import of the object.
FYI. Unlike when importing in the ES Repository, when importing objects to a directory, version management always creates a new version for the objects.
Solution, as you are not able to activate objects in ID (Integration Directory) due to error message, reject them. Export only Interface determination and import it in QA system.

Communication Channel information in abap tables

Hi ,
Could you let me know any abap table which contains information about communication channels in PI 7.0.
I have checked the following link

But the table SMPREL3 is not active in our data dictionary. is there any other table which stores this information.
My requirement is to get the list of all channels which have quality of service as EOIO in the processing tab of the comm channel.
Let me know if there are any other ways of checking this.

XI communication channel missing in communication channel monitoring

Hello partners,
I have a problem with communication channel monitoring.
I have defined a communication channel of Adapter Type = "XI" in the integration directory.
I have also sent messages successfully via this communication channel.
But the communication does not appear in the list of available channels in the selection list of the communication channel monitoring.
Can someone tell me how I can get monitoring info of an "XI" communication channel?
