Alesis mixer w/usb: sound pref. shows devise but won't imput

I have an alesis usb8. When I tried us it with my imac, my sound pref. recog. the usb imput, but will not allow the the info to pass to my cubase prog. or my gar.band. The only thing I get is a high freq. pitch sound. I have tested the cables and the mixer at the music store and everything checks out ok.Everyone I have talked to, thinks it may be a hard drive prob. Help! Can't afford a big bench fee.

My bad on the version. I do have 10.3.9. All cables are ok, I have tried @ lest 6 diff. ones. As far as the sound pref. is concerned,usb imput shows up but will not but recv. the signal from the mixer. I don't find midi file info any where in the settings.

Files from collaborated/shared folder show online but won't sync to my laptop

I have two CC accounts. One at work and one for my home business. Sometimes I want to share files between the accounts so I use the collaborate feature. The problem I have run into is the files will show up online but they won't transfer to my laptop. The main folder shows up but it's empty. Am I missing something? It's really strange that they show up online.

Do not know which operating system each machine is, but Windows is more restrictive in terms of file names. See this help article: Error: "Unable to sync files".

The location for each OS are:
Mac OS X: ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CoreSync/CoreSync-yyyy-mm-dd.log
Windows: %APPDATA%/Adobe/CoreSync/CoreSync-yyyy-mm-dd.log
Note that on Mac OS X to see the user library from the Finder click on the Go menu and hold down the Alt/ Option key. Note that on Windows %APPDATA% is a variable that will change to the correct path depending on if version of Windows being used.

How are you trying to edit?
There are 9 different versions of iPhoto and they run on 9 different versions of the Operating System. The tricks and tips for dealing with issues vary depending on the version of iPhoto and the version of the OS. So to get help you need to give as much information as you can. Include things like:
- What version of iPhoto.
- What version of the Operating System.
- Details. As full a description of the problem as you can. For example, if you have a problem with exporting, then explain by describing how you are trying to export, and so on.
- History: Is this going on long? Has anything been installed or deleted? - Are there error messages?
- What steps have you tried already to solve the issue.
- Anything unusual about your set up? Or how you use iPhoto?
Anything else you can think of that might help someone understand the problem you have.

TS1398 app store continues to show "loading" but won't complete

Appstore continues to show "loading" and won't complete download. Have checked wi-fi connection and reset settings.

also I am not able to stop the download to get rid of the loading app pictures...
at the bottom of the blank "loading app" picture it says waiting..

HELP - USB Controller Shows up, but won't work

Your picture looks like you have a USB joystick and it is working. You need some program that uses a joystick (no standard system routines uses one) - what programs have you tried ?

1080p over USB plays fine in Quicktime, but won't in iTunes

I keep all my media files on an external USB drive, along with the iTunes folder. I then have an alias of the iTunes folder in the Music folder of my Mac Mini.
I moved a 1080p of Terminator Salvation onto the USB hard drive. Opened it from there with Quicktime 10, it plays beautifully, not a problem in sight.
I then added the video file into iTunes. Tried playing it, it plays the first 1-2 seconds and then the image freezes with no sound at all. The timer continues to run though.
This is confusing me because I had assumed that if a video file worked in Quicktime, it would work in iTunes.
The video file is a 1080p, H.264 and AAC .mp4, with a FPS of 23.98.
I'm using Quicktime 10.0, iTunes 9.0.3 and I have Perian 1.2 installed.
It is a current gen (bought in 2009) Mac Mini with 2.0ghz CPU, 4gb of ram and a 320gb 7200rpm drive.
Any thoughts?

I downloaded it and it played fine in iTunes, QuickTime, and Winamp. Try right-clicking the song file and choosing Open With > iTunes, and let us know if that works.

Search function does not work, shows ( ) results but won't expand, javalangnullpointer error message

3 apps installed, facebook,, weather channel and live strong calorie counter, 44.7 mb free space.
I just got this phone because I beat up my curve.
I tried to search my device so find something on the calendar. I opened the search, clicked the calendar and unclicked evertything else. hit the menu button, highlighted search.... now it goes weird..... either NOTHING happens and the phone locks up. PULLED the battery and started over.... sometimes it WILL search.... shows (3) results, but not what the results are, hit menu and EXPAND and nothing happens..... OR I get the uncaught exception, javalangnullpointer error.
Please help! I rely heavily on my calendar and the search funciton.

You are running an extremely old (and EOL, btw) device, further hampered with a very out of date OS (they offer into the 5.x.x.x range OS for that model). The device was never known for it's stability (I had one for a while), and may indeed never function well for you. (And I never bothered with any of the search capabilities, especially in older OS levels.)
What I'd recommend is a clean OS reload...the simplest way is to, on a PC (you cannot do this on MAC):
1) Uninstall, from your PC, any BB OS packages
2) Make sure you have the BB Desktop Software already installed

3) Download and install, to your PC, the BB OS package you desire:
http://us.blackberry.com/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp
4) If that OS package is from a carrier other than the carrier for which your BB was originally manufactured, then delete, on your PC, all copies of VENDOR.XML...there will be at least one, and perhaps 2, and they will be located in or similarly to (it changes based on your Windows version) these folders:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
C:\Users\(your Windows UserName)\AppData\Roaming\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML
5) Launch the Desktop Software and connect your BB...the software should offer you the OS package you installed to your PC. If, during the process, your BB presents a "507" error, simply unplug the USB cord from the BB and re-insert it...don't do anything else...this should allow the install to continue.
Don't forget to backup.
If you are on MAC, you are limited to only your carriers sanctioned OS packages...but can still use any levels that they currently sanction. See this procedure:

You may also want to investigate the use of BBSAK (bbsak.org) to perform the wipe it is capable of.
You may also want to try this procedure to perhaps narrow down the precise causal item:
Load your OS "bare bones"...if anything is optional, do not install it.
If the behavior presents immediately, then try a different OS with step 1
If the behavior does not immediately present, then run for as long as it takes for you to be sure that the behavior will not present.
Add one thing -- no matter how tempting, just one.
If the behavior does not present immediately, then again run for long enough to be sure it will not have the same problem
Repeat steps 4 and 5 until all things are loaded or the behavior presents
When the behavior presents, you know the culprit...the last thing you loaded.
If the behavior does not re-present, then you know that either step 1 or 2 cured it.
If the behavior presents no matter what, then you likely have a hardware level issue for which no amount of OS or software can cure.

After Effects splash page show loading but won't open

I have been using After Effects 7 for the last year and a half. Today it decided it didn't want to open. The splash page will come up and show everything loading but then the application itself won't open. I used it a couple of days ago and it was fine, so I don't know what I am doing wrong.

Your prefs got hosed. Yeah, it sucks, but deleting them should revive your AE. Stop by at
Documents and Settings\[user]\Application Data\Adobe\After Effects\7.0
Application Data is by default an invisible directory, so check your Explorer folder view options first to show you all hidden files.

It appears to be fixed, he had multiple versions of iTunes installed (since he put his iTunes in a different folder) the iTunes icon launched the old iTunes, even though the new was installed. it's working now.

IPod shows up, but won't show content

I'm having this problem, when I plug in my iPod, it shows up in iTunes and syncs successfully, but the content on the device does not show up (like "Music" or "Videos" under the iPod section).

I have a similar problem. Because space on my hard drive was growing slim, I moved my iTunes music library to an external drive. Since then, iTunes appears to think that the songs are on my iPod, but it appears that only the titles are there, for, in iTunes, when I have my iPod mounted and selected, the titles all appear in the list, but at the bottom of the window, there is hardly any memory used on the iPod (despite what used to be about 26GB).
I've tried changing the iPod preferences and even restored the iPod, only to find the same thing. The iPod mounted with the same name as previously, and the same thing happened....

HHi,I can't access YouTube or Google+ from my updated apps.
it shows that they are updated,but I am unable to open the app.Also,they have disappeared from my home screen

Usually I could just swipe my finger across the screen and the "delete" option would pop up...instead it starts the show/movie and then gives me the error message. I have tried restarting, I have even tried syncing to my computer. Even though I don't have the computer set to sync any tv shows or movies, those items are still there. I'm noticing the same thing with Podcasts in the separate podcast app and in my itunes app under podcasts. There are several there that I have deleted from my itunes and they still show up on the iphone.

I am trying to update my iPod Touch to the 2.0 version. It says, "A newer version of iPod software is available (version 2.0). To update your iPod with the latest software, click Update."
I Click Update and this pops up: "A new iPod software version (2.0)is available for the iPod. Would you like more information from the iTunes store now?"
And I click learn more. It goes to a white screen with the word "iPod" on it for about 5 seconds and then back to the iPod home screen.

Earlier backups show up but won't backup

My MacBook Pro died and has been reincarnated with a new hard drive. In its final days I backed everything up.
Now TM has just backed up the new machine (which has hardly anything on it yet) and shows all my previous backups stretching back into infinity. But it won't actually let me select any of those earlier dates and return to them.
It's tantalising, because it's registering the dates in the timeline of all those previous backups, but I can't get at them.
Any thoughts?

Music showing up but won't play

I am trying to transfer my music to my ipad from my laptop. It shows on my ipad that all the music is their but 90% of them are a light grey color and won't play while the other 10% is a bold dark black color and will play. Can someone please help me with this.
