Alguem pode me informar qual a configuração desse computador mac pro xeon

Precisando muito dessa ajuda pessoal.
<Edited by Host>

The numbers you provided looks up to a set of 22 different Mac Pro models.
The simplest one has four processors and 3GB of RAM and would probably still sell for about US$1500.
The most complex has 12 processors, and if it is loaded up with RAM and drives, could be worth US$10,000.
If you need more exact numbers, you need to provide a more exact description of the features of this computer. The services that usually decode the serial numbers into exact features did not work with the information you provided.

  • What is the optimum core configuration for a new Mac Pro to process and manipulate very large (80 megapixel) images using PhotoShop and Camera Raw?

    Hello:
I will be using creative techniques to process and manipulate a large number (hundreds) of very large (80 megapixel) images captured using a medium format digital back (Phase One IQ180).
Final output will be digital fine art imagery printed using an Epson 11880 at large sizes (up to 60 inches x ?), retaining the highest possible quality and resolution. I will be using Adobe CC PhotoShop and Camera RAW as well as Capture One software. PhotoShop filters will be used extensively.
The Mac Pro needs to be optimized for the above purpose and be useful for at least five years. I plan to max out all the other options (RAM, graphics cards, storage). Performance is more important than cost.
The few discussions I have found that mention optimum core configurations seem to lean toward 6 or 8 (but likely are not taking into consideration my need for manipulating a large number of very large files), so I am looking to this foum for opinions.
    Thank you,
    Kent

  • Memory Configuration & Upgrade Recommendations - 2006 Mac Pro

    Hello,
It's been a long time since I have been posting here. Nice to see that everyone is still here. I have a memory configuration and upgrade I am now looking at. I'm also interested in how to use Bootcamp and install 64-bit Windows 7 when I have the EFI32. It appears that many of you build a new Windows 7 install DVD?
    Here is my current configuration:
    A1: 2GB
    A2: 2GB
    B1: 1GB
    B2: 1GB
    A3: 512 MB
    A4: 512 MB
    B3: 512 MB
    B4: 512 MB
I'm interested in comparing the 4GB vs. 2GB modules and what are the best options for maxing out this Mac Pro. I have forensic software that uses Oracle that I want to put on Windows 7 or a 64-bit Windows server. The system requirements say 16-32GB in a 64-bit environment for Oracle.
I also want to use CS4, Lightroom, Aperture, Capture One Pro, and FC HD on Snow Leopard.
I would appreciate input on configuration and memory quantities for what appears to now be an ancient Mac Pro and how to use a 64-bit OS on Bootcamp.
Thank you for your time and input!
    Michael

2006: 4 memory chips is ideal. obviously that only takes you to 16GB max.
    2008: 8 memory chips (don't read about 2008 then!)
I've seen people report their 4GB DIMMs run cooler, too, and heat is always an issue when it comes to FBDIMMs. They use a lot of power (watts) and one of the large sources of heat.
What you have now, 2s and 1s and 512s don't get you to 16GB or above, and as I posted you can get to 20GB replacing 4 x 512s.
I'd try with 4 x 4GB, which seems like you have to buy anyway, and see how heat and performance is. And only then consider adding back 2s and 1s to get to 20GB.
in the end, I'd sell the RAM you have if it makes a difference.

  • Can I migrate/copy my iTunes configuration to a new Mac Pro?

I have been able to copy over the sparse-bundle backups and restore.   But what I need to know is if I can copy over the entire configuration of iTunes (not just the music) such that my sync settings are retained (ie: sync only checked songs).  I have a considerably large collection of music and there's no way I want to go through selection again.   I just had my iPhone replaced, have a new cylinder Mac Pro to which I want to migrate this data.
I did perform an rsync of the Music directory structure to my new Mac Pro, but it appears to be missing settings (as I mention above).   I imagine that's stored elsewhere.
    Could someone elaborate?
    Thanks!

Found out how to address plist conversion from this page:
    http://hints.macworld.com/article.php?story=20050430105126392
But I think iTunes has sorted this out.  As my $HOME is actually /Users/username and not /Volumes/Home/username on the new Mac.  We'll see... I'm sync'ing now

  • Advice for a RAID configuration in my new Mac Pro

I just got a brand new Mac Pro and I am looking to get the fastest possible render and encode times possible. Originally I bought an eSATA PCIe card but was not impressed with the transfer times. In another forum a user suggested that I setup a RAID5. What kind of drives and RAID cards do you recommend as pro videographers? I suppose I can use my 1TB G-Drive as cold storage for the captured video. Any ideas?

Tell me what you think of this potential setup then...
    Hard Drive Bay 1
1TB Hard Drive from Apple that came with my Mac Pro
    Hard Drive Bay 2
    Cold Storage/Backup for Bay 3 & 4
    Hard Drive Bay 3
    RAID 0 with Bay 4
    Hard Drive Bay 4
    RAID 0 with Bay 3
I'm looking at getting three of these hard drives for the 3 empty hard drive bays...
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136284
What would you guys recommend I do with my 1TB G-Drive? It has USB, FireWire 400, FireWire 800, and eSATA.

  • Help configuring Mac Pro for Photoshop CS3

Hi all, this will be my 1st Mac and I'm hoping to get the proper configuration for using the Mac Pro with Photoshop CS3.
Since I'm working with large photos (20" X 24" and even larger) and layers my main concern is speed. The Apple store lists five items in their suggested configuration, any suggestions for what upgrades I need to make will be greatly appreciated!
Start building your Mac Pro with our suggested configuration:
    * Two 2.66GHz Dual-Core Intel Xeon “Woodcrest” processors
    * 1GB memory (667MHz DDR2 fully-buffered DIMM ECC)
    * NVIDIA GeForce 7300 GT graphics with 256MB memory
    * 250GB Serial ATA 3Gb/s 7200-rpm hard drive1
    * 16x double-layer SuperDrive
    thanks!!

Well, with a $US5K budget you should be able get a decent configuration. From the Apple Store I would order…
    Mac Pro 2.66GHz 1GB RAM / 250GB HD
    ATi Radeon X1900 XT
    Apple 23" Cinema Display
    Bluetooth & Airport Extreme
… which will cost $US3,726 leaving you plenty for your RAM and drives. I would add AppleCare although you can buy and activate this any time within your standard 1 year warranty period so by buy later you spread your costs.
Now, with RAM I would either buy 4 x 1GB (giving you 5GB and costing approx. $US400) from the manufacturer of your choice else 4 x 2GB (giving you 9GB and costing approx. $US850). The most cost effective is probably the 4 x 1GB as you'll most likely not want more than 8GB RAM in any case.
For your drives you have quite a bit of choice although you need to decide if you want to go RAID and what you're going to do with your backup and/or clone. Photoshop users require fast, small file, disk access which the Maxtor MaxLine Pro excels at and at $US99 each they're quite the bargain. Even though Seagate has chosen to discontinue this drive they're still the best boot/Photoshop drives in the 500GB size.
However, looking larger (750GB or more) such as the Hitachi Deskstar/UltraStar, Western Digital SE16/RE2 or Seagate Barracuda 7200.11/ES.2 You'll find better performance overall simply through their larger sizes. Not to mention you'll be buying current model drives. Be aware that you should buy drives specifically for RAID use if you wish to go that way. It's not a good idea to use desktop class drives in RAID sets hence the two model choices for each manufacturer.

  • Which configuration of Mac Pro?

I am trying to decide on the correct configuration for a new Mac Pro. However I have searched and digested so much advice, I’m further away from making a decision than I was before my search began.
The choices I have over here in the UK are:
    Quad-Core
    1 x 2.66GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon “Nehalem” processor
    3GB (three 1GB) memory
    1 x 640GB hard drive
    18x double-layer SuperDrive
NVIDIA GeForce GT 120 with 512MB
    8-Core
    2 x 2.26GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon “Nehalem” processor
    6GB (six 1GB) memory
    1 x 640GB hard drive
    18x double-layer SuperDrive
NVIDIA GeForce GT 120 with 512MB
My original plan was to opt for the first option(Quad-Core), but not sure whether to up the RAM to 6GB and upgrade the Graphics card to the ATI Radeon HD 4870 512MB.
My main workflow consists of 3D modelling for concept art in Photoshop.
I have Adobe Creative Suite 1 and understand that I will have to run this package under Rosetta due to it not being Universal. However I am hoping to upgrade Photoshop only to CS4 and then use Illustrator and InDesign under Rosetta.
The remaining aps. are as follows:
    Pixologic Zbrush (system requirements):
    3.12 Macintosh
OS: Mac OSX 10.5 or newer
    CPU: Intel Macintosh
RAM: 1024MB (2048MB recommended for working with multi-million-polys)
Monitor: 1024x768 monitor resolution set to Millions of Colours (recommended: 1280x1024 or higher.
    Smithmicro Poser:(system requirements):
Mac OSX 10.4 or 10.5 (10.5 required fro 64-bit rendering)
700MHz G4 processor (Intel Core Duo or 1Ghz or faster recommended) 64-bit CPU required for 64-bit rendering)
512MB system RAM (1GB or more recommended)
OpenGL enabled graphics card or chipset recommended (recent NVIDIA GeForce and ATI Radeon preferred)
    24-bit colour display, 1024 x 768 resolution
1GB free hard disk space (4GB recommended)
    Etc
My monitor is: Samsung T220 22” TFT, 1680x1050:1 2ms VGA/DVI, which is connected via Belkin Switch 2 for PC DVI-D 2 Ports Audio/KVM Switch.
I’m also wondering whether it is worth adding AppleCare protection plan to the package.
I would obviously like to keep my budget as low as possible. However I don't want to sacrifice the performance.
I think the first option would be suitable as the base line system but do I need to prepare or set the system up to cope with any developments in the near future?
I would be extremely grateful for any input on the details above to help make my decision easier.
    Thank you in advance.

I think you would do well with last year's 2008, more bang for the buck and good savings on everything.... and there are half a dozen models as of Monday - some go fast. Off the shelf as well as rendering.
8 core is ideal and Apple FCP or Compressor 3+ are very much being optimized for as many cores and cpu as you can throw at it.
    http://store.apple.com/us/browse/home/specialdeals/mac/mac_pro
Intel spend over $2B in R&D on Nehalem and Xeon 3500/5500 series (and the desktop Core i7 and i5) as we move to more cores and registers. A 4-core 2009 though the cost of faster clock speed goes up astronomically compared to the past much more costly.
You can build a single quad core using Xeon W3540 for $340 and clock that puppy up to 5.5GHz without trouble, server cpu can really take the clocking and heat. But an 8-core 2008 for $2400 really can hold its own, it is no slouch even now over a year since it came out.
Cost:performance benefit is something Barefeats has tried to answer in 7-8 tests on Nehalem and comparing to past builds.
I would not worry about 4-5 yr longevity. I'd buy what you need and figure in 2 yrs OS X and 3rd party software will catch up or surpass and more efficient system design and hardware. Any benefit from Snow will benefit a 2008; and 10.6 won't see mature drivers and code for a year, and 2009 only just came out.
Brand new is not your best business model.

  • Configuration of Hotmail in MAC

Could anyone help me in configuring the hotmail in MAC PRO. I am trying to set the mail by selecting the type as IMAP, the server is connecting to the microsoft properly but the mails are not syncing and they are taking longer time to sync. Can anyone
help me how to fix this issue?

    Hi Challa07,
As you are using IMAP account, I would firstly suggest you to un-check the “Sync all IMAP Folders Every “X” minutes” because IMAP account does not need any kind of parameter settings to synchronize emails in Outlook.
Apart from it, slow processing of Outlook can occurs due to numbers of reasons such as:
    Third party plug-ins
    Huge data file size
    Internet connectivity
    Corruption within Outlook
So, also check these settings and at last re-configure the Outlook profile by following the given tutorial:
    http://computers.tutsplus.com/tutorials/how-to-set-up-outlookcom-imap-in-apple-mail-or-microsoft-outlook--mac-54038
    http://office.microsoft.com/en-in/mac-outlook-help/imap-account-folder-settings-HA102927149.aspx
Note: Also un-subscribe “All Mail Folder” while dealing with an IMAP account.
    Thanks

  • Mac Pro + XServer RAID + FCP2 + Configuration

Hello all. This is my first post here.
I will soon buy a MacPro por video editing on Final Cut Pro 2 and I was wondering if you could help sort out if the configuration I've chosen is the best.
I'll show you the configurations I thought first:
    *Mac Pro*
    - Two 3.0GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon
    - 4GB (4 x 1GB)
    - Mac Pro RAID Card
    - 2 x 500gb HDD
    - ATI Radeon X1900 XT
    - 20" Apple Cinema Display + 23" Apple Cinema HD Display
    - Dual-channel 4Gb Fibre Channel PCIe
    *XServer RAID*
    - 2000GB ADM (4x500GB Ultra ATA)
    - Cache Battery Back-up Modules
    - Dual-channel 4Gb Fibre Channel PCIe
    My idea:
    A) The MAC Pro I'll be used for 3D rendering and video editing. I'll configure the 2x500GB with RAID1 (mirroring) for a fail safe env, leaving my with 500GB of available space
    B) XServer RAID will be connected directly to the Mac Pro (for now) via the fiber optic cards and we'll provided additional storage.
    C) For projects stored on the XServer RAID (videos for example) I must be able to access and edit directly with FCP2 without having to pass it to the Mac Pro
    D) I was thinking of using RAID5 for XServer RAID configuration leaving me with 2.64 x 500GB (as described on support faqs) = 1.3 TB of disk space with a reasonable fail safe environment (RAID5 with 3 drives allows one drive to fail and offers a good recovery rate).
    OK. My questions:
    1) Is my MacPro config enough for FCP2 + 3D Rendering ?
    2) Can I use the XServer RAID directly with Mac Pro or do I need aditional software / hardware?
    3) Can I connect the fiber optic from one board to the other without using the router? (on google the answers I found were very vague...)
    4) Is the RAID5 the best choice (in terms of performance vs data recovery) for video editing. The RAID5 specs states that random writes to disk are slower that other RAID configs. Is RAID 50 (5+0) a better choice?
    5) I opted for the 4 HDD config on XServer but I could change to a 7 HDD config for a similar total space.
I'm sorry for the long post, but I can't find anywhere suitable information about this questions.
    Hope to hear from you.
    Thanks in advance!

We have a ton of Xserve's and Xserve RAID's at my work. As of right now they're all directly connected to our servers with Fibre Channel cables (NOT fiber optic, totally different animal.) We finally just bought our first Fibre Channel switch to hookup five 10.5TB RAIDS and a huge tape loader for backups. The RAID's work perfectly when directly connected and are very fast. The only reason that you would need a Fibre Channel switch is if you want multiple machines to be able to access the array without using network shares.
I really don't think that just four drives will give you the performance that you're looking for. In order to get good performance out of a RAID5 you NEED as many spindles as you can get. If you're stuck to a budget if would probably go to smaller drives but get more of them. I think you've already discovered this but if you want to do a RAID5+0, you'll need to populate drives on both sides of the RAID as they are physically seperated.
As far as I know, you can only get Xserve RAID Drive Modules from Apple as they do some pretty intensive testing on every drive before they ship. You can't even buy empty modules, you can buy blanks but they don't include the required electronics.

  • What configuration of the new macbook pro do I need to run FCS 3 without choppy playback.

Yep, just wondering what configuration of the new macbook pro do I need to run FCS 3 without choppy playback or lagging.  I'm thinking about the 7200rpm, 2.2ghz, antiglare, 4gb ram, with 1gb GPU graphics card configuration

Nothing wrong with the computer. Playback is dependent on the media and the drives.

Hi there Dave, aka @dewanio , welcome back
I saw that you are looking to print off a configuration page.
The printer itself will print a test page however, the model depends on how it will print. Let me know which printer you have and I will get back to you!

  • How can I configure my new Mac Pro to output the timeline via HDMI

How can I configure my new Mac Pro to output the timeline in FCP 7 (yes, I have X, but I'm using 7 right now). I have two monitors running from TB2, but want to have the third for a client monitor.
If I use all three via TB2, it's literally three monitors, and I want to edit on my CineDisplay. I only want the client to see the timeline video on the third monitor. When I hook up HDMI I get no signal, in fact, I can't have the HDMI cable hooked up for TB2 to work with the third.

If you use all ThunderBolt displays, or stick with DisplayPort and Mini DisplayPort (free conversion between the two with only a cheap cable) you can have up to six displays.
If you attach "legacy" displays with "any-old adapter", you can have up to two, and the built-in HDMI counts as one if you use it.
    Any more requires ACTIVE Adapters.
The US$100 Apple ACTIVE Mini DisplayPort to Dual-Link DVI adapter works in every case, even displays over 1920 wide.
StarTech and Accell make US$35 ACTIVE adpters that work for displays up to 1920 wide.
