Alias creation and deletion is buggy

So it has happened again, the mysterious alias eater. I have in the past created an alias, then watched as all my other aliases disappear after creating this new alias. The next day they were all back again.
Then today, after waiting the appropriate 5 days to get a new alias, I created a new one, but it disappeared as soon as I created it. I tried to email myself at my new alias, and the mail is returned as undeliverable. When I try to create the same new alias, I can not because... that name is taken.....
Somethings really wacky here. Perhaps tomorrow it will be fine again, but if anyone knows what's up, I'd love some insight. Thanks all.

After following the steps above in system landscape
please do the following to fill in the parameters
Select connector under the property category.
PlZ make sure that you have provided ApplicationHost(the host name of backend system), LogicalSystemName(can be found from transaction scc4,just dounle click on the client to see the logical name use saplogon and logon to the backend system R3 in this case) ,SAP Client(can be found from transaction code scc4), SAP SystenID,SAP System Number and Server port.
After that create a System Alias for that system by selecting System Aliases under display.( This is important. I had the same kind of problem this should slove it).
Now make sure that you have user mapping set for the backend R3 System(User Administration-->User Maping search for the user and choose edit. Then choose the system alias name form the drop down box and provide the login details for the backend system).
Try to test the connection by selecting connection tests under display. If it doesnot work plz copy paste the whole error message.
The message should look something like the one below
Test Connection with Connector - Jan 1, 1970 2:35:42 PM
Test Details:
The test consists of the following steps:
1. Retrieve the default alias of the system
2. Check the connection to the backend application using the connector defined in this system object
Results
Retrieval of default alias successful
Connection successful

AC ERM : role creation and how to delete ungenerated roles

Hi,
When you work on a role from ERM, the role is created in the back end. It will be generated only at the generation phase. But what if finaly it is decided not to generate the role, is there a way to delete the role in the BE from ERM?
It seems the only way is to go in PFCG and delete the role manualy?

There are different tables in which the roles for RE (in frontend RE, frontend tables) and where the roles in R/3 are stored. That is, it might be that even if you are generating all the roles from RE, at a particular time the list of roles in RE is greater than number of roles in R/3 Backend. This is because:
RE roles = Generated roles (which exist at backend as well)+Ungenerated roles (which are in RE only till that particular time).
Here ungenerated roles would mean the roles which you have not yet generated in RE.
Thus, __deleting roles from R/3 and RE are two separate things__.
1. To achieve the deletion the role from Backend (R/3) you should create a request in RE to remove this role from all the users currently attached to it as there is no way possible to delete the role from R/3 by creating a request from RE. Doing this would still have the role in R/3 but with no user assigned.
2. To delete the role from RE tables, so that you do not see it again, you can Search for the role, select it and then click on the "Delete" TAB. This will delete the role from the RE tables.
Now, for the clenliness of your R/3 system, in case you do not want to see these roles in R/3 too, you can schedule a BG job to delete this or do a mass delete of all these roles say every fortnight or at whatever frequency as desired by your management.

ApplicationModule Class creation and then delete?

Hi all,
sorry if the question sound weird,
what if I created the AppModuleImpl.java
then figured that no need for any modification on it,
what would be the implication of deleting the created implementation file , (right Click -> delete -> and delete all the usages of the java files in the AppModule.xml)
same is for the view Implementation classes.
as far as I know, that at run time the super implementation classes executed based on the specific properties for each e.g: view from the xml files.

If I get your question right, there should be no problem deleting the applicationModuleImpl java file. You normally don't delete it this way. To remove the impl file you open the application module, select the 'Java' node, click the pencil and remove the check mark from 'Generate Application...'.

I am creating a batch job in C# and my requirement is as follows.
My Requirement is to create multiple document libraries and after breaking inheritance I remove all the groups which that library inherits and add some groups which are created for that library.Initially when libraries are less the creation
of library is good but once it gets increased ,system takes lot of time.I will have to create around 2000 libraries and almost 600-700 groups.
Q.1 ) What would be my approach?
Q.2) Do we have powershell command which can break inheritance and delete all the default groups in a one go (without looping) of a library?

How to identify and delete objects after failure of registering XML schema

Hi,
I have tried to register a XML schema with many global elements but failed.
I have checked the view DBA_XML_SCHEMA and found that there is an entry for this failed XML schema and the disk spaces would not be freed after the failure of registration as well.
I have tried DBMS_XMLSCHEMA.deleteSchema() with DELETE_CASCADE_FORCE but failed with ORA-31000: Resource is not XDB document.
How can I identify and delete the objects for this failed XML schema and free up the disk space ?
I would not prefer to use 'DROP USER ... CASCADE' since there are other objects owned by this user.

you can get them from user_objects.
but you have to identify them manuallly if your schema has other objects other then created by the xml schema creation process.
Note these objects will be cases senistitive. so you should enclose them with double quotes during deletion.

Alias Tables and Duplicate tables in Physical Layer

I have a small doubt in physical layer. We have two options when we right click table, 'Alias' and 'Duplicate'. To create another instance of a table, can we use any one of these. Does it make any difference

Hi,
If u duplicate any table the join conditions will carry with respective tables , same name appending (TableName#1)
In case of alias u need to specify joins conditions explicitly
We can use same table with different constrains to the same table
Aliases used, if you need to replicate a physical table and not create multiple tables with the same data
If you delete any column in the Original table automatically deleted in alias
table and Its not reflected in Duplicate table.
Steps:
Right Click the original table. Choose New Object and choose Alias.
The mistake most people make is try to bring in the same table again and rename it or choose Duplicate by right clicking the original table.

    Run BAPI transaction and search for USER in the alphabetical order list of BAPI's, there you will find BAPI's related to User Creation, Change, etc.

Z database table needs to have field creation/update/deletion tracked

I have a program that gets data from an excel file and uploads the content to the Z database table.
I need to track the creation/update/deletion of the records in the Z database table.
The Z database table can also have records changed/updated/deleted manually thru table maintenance. These changes also need to be tracked.
How do I do this?

Just as you see, the system has created the fm and some includes containing all data it needs to call the fm.
So u need only to use those includes, just only u need to consider before calling the fm u need to fill:
- The change flag: usually called UPD_<Z table>;
- Fill the header Y<ZTABLE> of z-table with old data;
- Fill the header X<ZTABLE> of z-table with new data;
- Fill the variables   TCODE, UTIME, UDATE, USERNAME,
- Fill the variable OBJECTID with the key of Z-table

I have 2 Alias Accounts and I can't create the 3rd one.

Hello, I have 2 alias accounts (shown and working on my mac) but on my iPhone still appear the other alias accounts that I have created and deleted nearly two months ago and I want to create a new alias account (the 3rd and last available) but the system does not allow me... its says that I have deleted one recentrly and that I should wait 7 days to tray again (but almost two months ago since I deleted other alias accounts can not be considered recently right? haha)... well I have waited that time and still not posible to create the 3rd one... and still appear the old alias accounts on my iPhone... I have tried to delete the iCloud account from my iPhone and then setting up again but still the old alias there... what should I do now? Delete again my @me account from my iPhone and wait seven days or is there another solution?

CREATE and DELETE operations in MI7.1 for PDA

We are developing a sample scenario for PDA in 7.1. Problem is we are able to implement GETLIST, GETDETAIL and MODIFY operations but not able to implement CREATE and DELETE operations. For GETLIST and GETDETAIL i have created queries. Modify is also simple (i am creating a form to edit and commiting data once i click on save). But to implement CREATE and DELETE we dont have any reference.

There is a typed method on the service component model class for root node creation. Example for binding a new root instance to a context node:

where model is your webdynpro model.Employee is a context node model bounded to Employee model class.This node has to be manually created in context(and then can be context mapped and bound to elements in view)

Creating a child is done on the root itself, but persisting it is a two step process:
address = employeeRootNode.createNewAddresss(); <- this only creates the instance in memory
where employeeRootNode is the model object for which the child has to be created. If the element for which the child has to be created exists in context then it can be got by
wdContext.nodeEmployee().currentEmployeeElement.model()
employeeRootNode.addToAddresss(address); <- this persists the new instance
wdContext.nodeCurrentAddress().bind(Collections.singleton(address));
wdContext.nodeCurrentAddress().setLeadSelection(0);
Delete of a root is also done on the sc model class:
model.removeEmployeeSdoEmployee(employeeRootNode);
Delete of a child is done one the root:
employeeRootNode.removeFromAddresss(address);

Rename and Delete Files

Hi everyones, i'm new to this forum and to applescript
i need help to make a little script. i got a folder that look like this :

The folder FOLDER_TOP can contain hundred of subfolder like FOLDER_1111a and FOLDER_2222b and each subfolder contain a lot of photos like AAAAA_1.jpg, BBBBB_2.jpg and PHOTO_3.jpg
I need to be able to rename the first photo of each subfolder by the name of the subfolder and delete the remaining ones (AAAAA_1.jpg must became FOLDER_1111a.jpg. BBBBB_2.jpg and PHOTO_3.jpg must be deleted)

As for variable extension, are you trying to do this? -
Provided a subfolder is named 'ddd' and its 1st file in lexical order is named 'mmm.eee' (mmm is a name stem and eee is a name extension), you are to rename the 1st file as 'ddd.eee' regardless of what the 'eee' is.
If so, try the following script.
I also revised the code a bit so that it can now properly handle the cases where less than 2 files is in a subfolder.

Try closing the Mail app completely and see if it works properly when you re-open the app : from the home screen (i.e. not with the Mail app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Mail app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
If that doesn't work also do a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

File-to-file or File-to-RFC for Automatic PO creation and GR creation

We are on XI 3.0 and the following has been put to me:
We will receive a .CSV file from FTP server, into XI and then need to create Purchase Orders followed by the Goods Receipt documents in R/3 based on the incoming data.
Further to this, the requirement is to give a log of the successfule and failed PO + GR document summary to the business.
The programme in R/3 will compare the incoming file nmame with archived files already processed and will reject any files with duplicate names.
I was suggesting to go with the file to RFC in R/3 whereby we can have a Z shell BAPI to include the standard BAPI for PO creation and GR creation. This Z code can then be extended to email the log to the business of which records were successfully created and which failed.
However, I am stumped as to how can I make the file duplication comparison on R/3 as the incoming file will also be stored on R/3 archive somewhere.
Can this be made when the BAPI is called in XI?
I can configure alerts when the BAPI is mapped from incoming file for that interface.
What was suggested also was to pick up the CSV file and thow it as it is in R/3 and then the Z code can go through it and create the PO and GR objects. However, then it does not make much sense to use XI as the middleware platform.
Please advice.
