Alias homepage url

How to alias the home page url :
From :-
http://osman.oracle.com:8002/OA_HTML/US/ICXINDEX.htm
To :-
http://oracleApps.com
I believe you need to configure in Webserver config file.
Please advise.

After changing the Territory & Lanaguage from the List I cannot access the Homepage for that particular User.
I throws PL/SQL Error 6503 (If I remember correctly) and the home page is blank. Hence I cannot access the General Perfrance againt to change the Territory and Language.
Is there any alternative (I mean in FND_... Tables / Configuration files) where the User Territory / Language is stored.

Open a Lotus Notes Document as a SPRO HomePage URL resource in Portal

Hello,
I have specified the link to a Lotus Notes document as a URL to Resource while defining a Service in the SPRO HomePage Framework. This service is called when the corresponding link is clicked from the area group page for ESS.
When I click on the corresponding link in the Area Page, the link is unable to open the certain content due to a security error being thrown. However, the left navigatiopn opens and when we click on the relevant link from the left navigation, the corresponding content is opened as required.
Is there any configuration which needs to be taken care of, to bypass the initial security error? I would really appreciate any available pointer on this scenario.

After more testing and some pointers from Brian Hayes, I have it working. If the Tidal client is running via Citrix it won't work. The Tidal client has to be installed locally on the same machine as Lotus Notes because the document will open in Lotus Notes, not as a web page.

Using Application Alias in URL

I wanted to use application alias name in URL of my application while running. I wrote an application alias in application definition, and tried to run it using its alias. Ir runs fine, but to my surprise when i switched to any other page except home page by using two level tabs, my application alias again changes to application id. Can anyone help me in this that what i am missing here? How can i use application alias on every tab click.??

You'll have to look at mod_rewrite in Apache to achieve what you want. There's a Oracle Application Express (APEX) usage.

when i first start mozilla after boot i've got 2 windows of firefox with this url "http://fotostrana.ru/start/questpet/?ref_id=381392191&pqr=1" but my homepage is "http://firefox.yandex.ru/" i have tried clear cache and cookies and to completely uninstall firefox and install it again but problem didn't solved. i've got 2 good antiviruses so computer is clean. where can i find this url to delete? opera and ie don't boot this page at startup.

ESS Homepage URL Resource

Hello,
I am trying to configure a 'Direct URL' resource in the ESS WebDP homepage framework. My link appears but is not behaving like a hyperlink. Right clicking it just gives a 'javascript(null)' error. Clearly the URL address I have specified in the resource is not being read properly.
Has anyone done this successfully?

Hi Tahir,
Right clicking may not work because the auto-generated URLs (I'm assuming you're defining the Direct URL resource in IMG on the R/3 side) are being created using the JavaScript EPCF API which uses the doNavigate() and other methods. If you right click on the page itself and click on View Source and search for the text of the hyperlink you're testing, you'll find the direct link is coded with javascript, similar to the following:
<A HREF="myLink" onclick="return EPCM.doNavigate('target')">

When Firefox is closed, all previous search page and home page settings are not saved. Must reset firefox and reset homepage url everytime.

All previous search engines on "Manage Search Engines" are gone and cant access the "get more search engines"...all grayed out.

Session Manager and Save session are the ad-ons which can solve your problem of saving previous search pages and url.

Iweb and homepage url

Hello! I am very new to iweb. I would like my url to look like: http://web.mac.com/user name, but instead it looks like: http://web.mac.com/user name/Site/Welcome.html.
I am sure there is a very simple way to fix this, but I can't figure it out. Any help would be appreciated!

Unfortunately not. That is the way that websites made in iWeb and published to MobileMe will look like. The url will always be http://web.me.com/username/sitename/Welcome.html.
It is just that you have to call your site something in iWeb. It won't accept it otherwise, so you could shorten it even more to something like S so it would then be web.me.com/username/S/Welcome.html. The only other way is to register a domain name and then use masked forwarding so all you get as a url is www.yourdomainname.com.

ok, first see if name you file index in iWeb then uploading it will allow you to go straight to yoursite.com instead of yoursite.com/yourfirstpage.html if it
If that works find your HTML file, it will be located both here and here. Depending on where you choose to get the file from you may need to download it. After downloading it right-click the file and open it in your HTML file editor (like Coda or Espresso), if you don't have an HTML file editor Dashcode will work just fine. change the text between <title>index</title> to whatever you like and your good to go!

Homepage URL requires capital letters & FFX 24 doesn't save them

My first homepage (of 2) is the following:
http://classic.wunderground.com/cgi-bin/findweather/getForecast?query=27591&wuselect=WEATHER
Note the 5 upper case letters.
When saved and FFX 24 is restarted, the upper case letters are replaced with lower case and the home page is not found. You can see below that it has been saved without the upper case letters. If I manually correct the letters using Tools | Options, the Homepage button will work one time.
I have disabled Norton Toolbar & Vulnerability Protection.

I did report this to Norton. Apparently this bug affects IE as well, and they are tracking it down.
I just wanted to cross post here so FF users would know this is not a FF bug.

Possible? Recreate my original Homepage pages into iWeb but retain old URL?

I have Tiger in the box and still have to install it.
I just bought iLife '06 today and will install it after installing Tiger.
I already have a .Mac homepage up — created with Homepage Manager.
I am thinking now that I would like to recreate that original homepage but do it with iWeb.
How do I end up with my original homepage pages all re-done into iWeb templates but retain my original .Mac homepage URL? All my friends know that URL. Could someone please explain?

Well really it's not OR but AND. If you want to do away with your old >homepage-style pages and send people to your iWeb pages via the old URL, >then you must put the redirect on the old pages.
Or you could leave the old pages up but add a link that says "Here's my new homepage..." or something like that...
Hi... I see you live in Florida — and hope you are not in any of the traditional hurricane paths!
I think that I want to start copying/recreating my Homepage pages into iWeb pages and accept that I will have a new URL someday in the near future (because I intend to do the copying as fast as I can and not stop). I can send a notice out and change a few other things. However, I have questions for that interim time when I am working on the iWeb pages but not finished with them.
While I am working on iWeb pages, I am given a new URL, right? And thus, I would at that point have two URLs with .Mac. Is that possible? As I see it, the first URL would be the one I have now, which is the address of my present .Mac Homepage Manager Homepage. And the second URL, wouldn't it be the URL of the iWeb pages? That's possible???
I understand the concept of having a redirect page from my original Homepage ultimatly to the new iWeb page, but is it an automatic redirect or one which the viewer can activate if he wants to? I would not want a redirect page to quickly, blindly switch a visitor from the old Homepage to the new iWeb pages which are incomplete.
I don't understand the mechanics of URLs. I don't know what a Redirect Page looks like or how it works and I don't see how I could be working on my new iWeb pages with its new iWeb URL, all the while leaving my present Homepage alone, viewable by visitors with ITS OWN URL.

I think I just solved one of my questions all by myself. If I begin to work on iWeb I will be given a new URL — an iWeb URL. Thus technically, when I Edit and Publish in iWeb, technically, people could view those pages, but chances are they will not if I don't announce the new iWeb URL to them. OK. I see......
I am asking all of this now because I am the type that needs to envision and understand a project from start to finish before I start. I do not like surprises — and cyber surprises have the ability to unsettle me.
Could someone please realign my erratic thoughts? Are my goals possible? Can I have my present .Mac Homepage Manager Homepage viewable and visitable while working away on copying them to my new iWeb site? (I bought iLife '06 yesterday and will install it and Tiger today. i've created a URL iView and when i logon to the portal.....i need my <b>yahoo or gmail inbox</b> to appear in this URL iView.....
i read frm a thread that i need to confgure SSO for this by creating a system....
can u plz guide me how to configure SSO and also the usermapping.......

How to change the application alias for a web project in NW7.2

a simple question, but I could not manage to solve it: How do I change the application alias (the url) of a web project? I'm using Netweaver 7.2 and all the tutorials I found refer to earlier versions and do not work anymore.
In particular, I would like to change e.g. "server.com/vendor~webbappname" (the standard url of the web project) to "server.com/mywebapp".

Personal Domain - Can I get rid of my iWeb site's name in the URL?

Hey everyone,
I just set up my iWeb site (called "This is Out of Context") to point to a personal domain name (www.thisisoutofcontext.com). Problem is, now my homepage URL reads: http://www.thisisoutofcontext.com/THISIS_OUT_OFCONTEXT/HOME.html
Is there any way to "get rid" of the second "THISIS_OUT_OFCONTEXT" so that my URL simply reads: http://www.thisisoutofcontext.com/HOME.html ? You know...short 'n sweet...like a "normal" website?
Any thoughts or tips would be much appreciated (please go easy on me, I'm a total newbie here...)

does this work with iweb 08?
my site was running fine until i upgraded to iweb 08 and redsigned my site. i have a godaddy account for my domain name and i have it masked and forwarded but my apple url still appears at the top of the browser bar while in safari and firefox. my site is www.louislemoine.com
if you go there you will see what i mean. maybe what you are talking about will solve this problem. i am at work so i can not check to see if what you talk about will work. i am hoping that you are onto something.
