Align document to the left (not single objects)

Hi,
your help is needed. I created a layout in Pages and even if I click on adjust to complete page width, the document is not shown across the whole width of the screen. Left of the "0" marking of the ruler is a grey space that's unused.
How do I get the document to be aligned to the left and be shown on the full workspace.

FinRon,
The grey space is the region that your printer driver has told Pages your printer can't print to. Many printers have a small part of the page that they can't put ink on. For some printers this area is rather large. And, some printers have paper selections including borderless printing that will completely eliminate the grey area. So, it's not Pages, but your printer driver that has the limitation. Check the available paper sizes for your printer and select a borderless option if you want to print to the edge.

Line on the left; Patterns in objects; Boxes round text

I produce teaching materials which have to be printed in grayscale, so I need lots of ways of distinguishing items (different kinds of headings, lists, boxes, etc) without using colour. A few features seem to be missing in this regard, but pls tell me if I just haven't spotted them yet:
1. I want a vertical line or 'bar' down the left side of certain kinds of text which automatically lengthens as lines are added. It's possible in Table but that's quite annoying as cells don't automatically split at the end of a page.
2. Objects, such as boxes of text, can be filled with various patterns - lines, spots, etc - in Word, but I can't find an equivalent feature in InDesign CS4.
3. I want boxes round some headings. Para Rules and Underline lets you put lines above and below but not at the sides. Is there a way of getting them without creating a new frame, pasting the text in, and anchoring the box?

May be useful to disable the "Track changes" feature

Aligning scoll to the left

Hi folks,
I have a JTextArea in a JScrollPane. My text area gets updated by certain events and I want the scroll to be on the left and not on the right. I have tried setting the component orientation of the scrollpane from left->right, but no success. I also added a document listener to the textArea and on event, I did the following:
textScrollPane.getHorizontalScrollBar().setValue(0);
but no success.
Can someone please help me out with this.

Documents in the Cloud not working

I'm having issues with the Documents in the cloud feature for a couple of days now, first I thought my restore fixed it but as I was working with some documents in iWork for iOS I ran into the exact same problem again.
All my documents display the arrow going up badge or occasionally a progress bar that doesn't fill, and other apps that support iCloud for storing documents just refuse to let me access them.
I checked the logs for my iOS devices (an iPad 2 and iPhone 4S) and they both exhibit a particular line when I try to sync my files with iCloud

I have no clue what's going on, going to icloud.com on my Mac and entering the iWork webapp doesn't show any documents either, even thgough I succesfully synced all of my Pages documents across my iOS devices yesterday and they are still on sync.

I'm having weirdness in Numbers and Pages too. Just upgraded an iPad 4 to 8.1.1, and now neither Numbers or Pages will load the iCloud documents. In fact, when I turn on "Use iCloud" in Settings and go to either of the Apps, nothing changes, but when I go back to Settings the "Use iCloud" has been switched back off. Both Apps load very slowly. When they finally do open and I click the + sign in the upper left of title bar, a blank cartoon-like bubble opens, then the App crashes. Interestingly a new iPhone 6 running the same software works just fine... both Apps load quickly and retrieve the iCloud documents instantly. I haven't got a clue...

"Documents in the Cloud" NOT syncing between devices.

I am terribly confused about DOCUMENTS IN THE CLOUD.
My whole understanding was that your documents would SYNC between your devices, iMac/iPhone/iPad.
I have PAGES installed on all my devices. But nothing is syncing. If I make changes to one of the documents it remains on that particular device and does not effect my other devices.
And YES I have iCloud enabled on all my devices.
I THOUGHT that if I edited a document on my iMac it was supposed to send the edit to the cloud where it would then be sent to my other devices, iphone and ipad?
Am I missing something? Did I misunderstand the keynote?

For the avoidance of doubt in addition to settings> iCloud> documents & data being enabled, have you checked that settings> keynote> iCloud is also set to on.

Is there any way to stop the automatically download of certain synced documents in one of my devices?
i have some documents in the cloud and I want all of them in one device but I don't want all of them in another. But if I delete one document this is deleted in icloud and in all the devices.
It will be valid too to be able to hide documents or be able to save some in iCloud and some on the devices itself (don't sync at all), same way I can configure a calendar in iCloud and others on the ipad.

It depends on which app you're using. Some apps let you save a local file to iCloud and at the other end (on another device), you have the choice to download it or not. Other apps save all files to iCloud and sync them all to other devices.

Documents in the Cloud not working (impossible!)

I am encountering the most strange difficulty with iCloud, particularly Documents in the Cloud and the syncing of Numbers and Pages documents between iPad and iPhone. I do not use Keynote.
I will try and describe the problem in as much detail as possible and explain everything I have tried to do.
My goal is for documents I create on iPad to sync to iPhone, and vice versa, with changes appearing on both, and on iCloud.com. To clarify I'm not involving the Mac in anyway, I am aware this is a current limitation of Documents in the Cloud. Unless I'm missing something, what I want to do is what is advertised.
- I am running the latest version of iOS on both iPad and iPhone.
- I have the latest versions of Keynote and Pages on both.
- I am logged in to iCloud on both iPad and iPhone with the same account
- iCloud is working fine for all other purposes (Bookmark sync, PhotoStream etc)
- Documents and Data is switched on, as is the option for Using Cellular Data
- Use iCloud is set to ON under Pages and Keynote preferences
- The arrow indicating a cloud document is on every document on both iPad and iPhone's icon, in the top right of each icon
- In iCloud -> Storage & Backup -> Manage Storage -> Documents & Data -> Numbers it displays all the expected documents.
The current behaviour appears to be that I create a document on either device, and the document is PARTIALLY uploaded to iCloud. That is, it appears on iCloud.com under iWork, but when I click on any file it either says "Upload failed" or "Waiting" for each file.
If I try and delete a document on iWork.com, it crashes the web app and does not delete the documents.
Things I have tried to resolve:
- Uninstalling and reinstalling Numbers and Pages on both devices
- Soft resetting both devices
- Disabling and re enabling Documents in the Cloud on both devices
- Disabling and re enabling iCloud toggle in the individual app preferences on both devices
- Deleting and readding iCloud account on both devices
- A full restore then restoring from iCloud backup on both devices (yes, I actually did that)
- A combination of the above in various sequence orders, none of which made any difference
More information... one solution on the web pointed to the problem involving a duplicate account which could be deleted from the Mail settings, however I only have one configured account - my iCloud account. Just in case it matters, my iCloud email is an @mac.com address.
I think I have covered everything. Any help would be appreciated since Apple themselves seemed pretty stumped on the phone, suggesting another restore, or setting the phone and iPad up as brand new devices. I'd really rather not until I've exhausted every possible outcome.

I don't see it mentioned above, but when you remove the apps from your devices, have you been to system preferences > iCloud and checked that all your pages and numbers documents have been deleted from your storage, deleting them if necessary.
Also when you add things back, avoid adding documents with the same names as those you have been having problems with.

Edit icons on the left not working

My edit screen is not allowing the drop down choices in the editing bar to the left to be displayed. None of the boxes work. For example....I only have use of the dodge tool. The burn tool cannot the accessed.
Any thoughts?

Sorry, I got your name wrong earlier. I was hoping someone else would take up your problem as I don't know Macs. Try resetting Preferences by holding down the Shift Opt & Cmd keys as you start Photoshop.
If that makes no difference, I'm a bit stuck because you are first person with the problem in the time I've been on this forum, but I generally avoid Mac related threads.
Can you toggle through the fly out options using the shortcut with the Shift key?
Have you tried both right and left clicking the relevant toolbar icons?
Try resetting the Workspace. If did this with something like the Essentials workspace, that should restore the default shortcuts.
I wonder if the screen mode is covering something up? Try toggling through the three modes with the f key. Only the first two options allow access to the toolbar.
I feel like I am grasping at straws, but I don't know Macs.
What Photoshop related plugins - if any - are installed on that system?
It might be quicker to simply reinstall Photoshop.

Flyout menu items appearing on the left not right

Since installing 14.1, flyout items in drop down menus have started appearing to the left of the drop down menu not the right. Grateful to know how to fix this. Thanks.

In fact there is no Tablet PC Input Settings in the Control Panel. But this worked:

A bookmarked page opens in a narrow screen on the left not the main page

When I click on the bookmark, a new pane opens on the left of the screen with the bookmarked page. This pane is too narrow to read or use.

Right-click that bookmark and select Properties, then un-check the preference for Load this bookmark in the sidebar, and then click Save.
Using JavaScript buttons on web pages for "Bookmark this Page" causes that preference to be selected when saving the bookmark in that manner. So, don't use those buttons, use the "Bookmark this Page" feature that is built into Firefox instead.
