ALIGNING PHOTOS IN MAC MAIL

I am going crazy trying to align my photos in e-mail at the top center and then align left my text.
Easy to do and It always looks fine: when I am composing.
When friends receive my messages, photos are always aligned to the left.
Same when I review my own sent folder.
I even tried <center> and </center> before and after the photo.
I can't believe the APPLE would allow one to do this in compostion and then betray the command.
Thanks for any help!
John

It should center the photo in the frame. You can zoom in and out to get the whole picture or some zoomed in portion. It doesn't allow cropping.
If the image isn't centered in the photo, you need to crop it appropriately in iPhoto or Preview (or whatever photo editor you want to use). Then, drag the cropped photo into the frame.

  • How are contact photos in Mac Mail and Address book used?

I am trying to understand who will see my photo (user account picture) that I can see in my contact listing from address book. Will other mac users see this photo when I email them? Will PC users see it? I think it showed up on my blackberry in an email I sent myself. Is that possible?

Nobody can see that picture but you. If you assign pictures to contacts, they will show up as a badge on e-mails from that contact.

  • Adding a hyperlink to photo in mac mail signature

I am trying to add a picture or template in my signature that when you click on it, it hyperlink to a landing page on my website or another destination.
So far I have been able to do this in text only. I would rather have an image than text that says for example "Click here for Video." I tried with a photo and embed the link to that photo with not success.
Does anyone have a solution to this?
    thank you

Microsoft Outlook can hyperlink images. Neither entourage nor apple mail is true html composing. Only when composing mail in HTML format can you do this. I spent way too much time trying to get apple mail to do what I needed for template emails and email signatures. Sadly, I have to use Outlook to do what I need.
The question is, does anyone make a plug for apple mail that allows HTML composition?

  • Composing photos in Mac Mail

When using the email link in iPhoto, my default font is fine above the photo, but when I go below the image to continue typing, the font changes spontaneously to a small one. Can't find a fix in Preferences of either Mail or iPhoto. Anyone else noticed this irritating glitch?

  • Mac mail wonky photo issue

I looked but couldn't find an answer to this on apple forums.
I'm using mac mail 3.6, on an iMac with OX 10.5.8. Here's the situation: When I send a certain friend an email, she gets it with a photo of me attached in the upper right corner. (She has a PC with outlook). I have a different photo that I use as a default and it shows up in both the system preferences and my listing in my address book. Why is she getting a photo of me that is only in an iPhoto album (as far as I know?) I checked with another friend who uses a Mac and he gets no pic from me on his mac mail. So why is a picture of me that is only in iPhoto showing up in the mail she gets from me? (she sent me a screen shot and there it was).
Thanks for any help or advice with this.

Thanks BDAqua. This answered the question of why it was showing up. Now, as to why she has it in her outlook contacts is another question best left to her.
    Thanks.

  • The picture ID on my outgoing Mac mail  is not mine -- it's the photo of boyfriend of my mother in law is appearing as my ID photo.  I have no link or connection with anybody  or other accounts whatsoever, and I don't have ANY third-party networks myself.

Nobody but you sees that photo, it does not appear on outgoing emails.
To remove the picture rather than change it, open Address Book and select your personal card, then from the menubar select Card > Clear Custom Image. Now the system will use Apple’s generic user picture in the login window and System Preferences’ Accounts pane. Mail and Address Book will remain blank until you designate a new picture in Address Book or System Preferences > Accounts.

  • Mail folders in Mac Mail do not align in order

My mac mail 7.3 running on my macbook air OSX 10.9.5 will not align new folders in alphabetical order.  It used to a few years ago, but now every time I add a new mail folder, it just gets placed randomly.  My Mac consultant says its just a weakness with mac mail, but I find it hard to believe that such a simple task would be ignored by apple.  Anyone have any ideas?  thanks

Yes, what I think may be the case here is that adding a mailbox shows as "On My Mac" so OP is looking for a way to store "Off his Mac". You've also provided a solution for that but may be just a basic misunderstanding of the way Mail works.

When you select the share to mail option in iPhoto, you are given the option to resize the photo.

  • Why is Mac Mail downsampling my attached photos???

Why the heck is my Mac Mail program downsampling my hi res photo attachments? When they reach their destination, they're low res! What manner of witchcraft is this, and how do I stop it from ever happening again? It's most annoying.
    Thanks-

I have the answer. When you attach (or drag) a photo to your open message window, a little drop-down menu appears at the bottom of the window, allowing you to specify an image size. If you choose "Actual Size", your attachment will remain full size/resolution.
Ya know, Apple, if you were to make this setting a menu or preference setting, it might be found a little easier by the user.

  • Mac mail export to "Photos," not iPhoto

I use an iMac running OS X 10.10.3 and have the new Photos software.
I'd like Mac Mail to "export" a photo attached to an email to Photos, rather than iPhoto.  But the dropdown menu in the little line between the address and the email still only lists "Export to iPhoto" and doesn't give an option to export to Photos.
Is this a glitch?  Am I doing something wrong?

True, but if you right-click (control-click) on the photo, the context menu does contain "Export to Photos" along with "Export to iPhoto" and others.

  • Mac Mail- all incoming photos are corrupted- but only on my MBP, not my iphone. Any ideas?

    Hi,
My Mac Mail is driving me bonkers!
For the last week or so, it's been extremely erratic on my Macbook Pro (seems fine on my phone). First it dumped all of my sent messages- then it gradually loaded them all up again, over the course of a couple of hours.
Then it dumped three year's worth of messages from my inbox, slowly adding them back in again over the next couple of days (this still seems to be happening in some form or other in that my mail activity frequently tells me that 800 emails (for example) are downloading.
Most irritating of all, I can't receive any images without them being corrupted. They're fine on my phone- this is definitely a MBP only problem.
I've not changed anything recently- and my phone is still running iOS 6.1.3
    Any ideas?

I switched around 9 years ago. Second Mac, first problem I've ever really had in all that time. It dumped another 30,000 emails this morning- including ones that I need to work with right now. Still receiving garbled images.
Went to schedule a call with Apple- see if they can shed any light on it. Going to get back to me in 6 days. Brilliant.
It's just not good enough. This isn't what I'm paying for.

  • Cant drag photos from my iPhoto library to the body of mac mail.

I used to be able to drag photos to the body of my email and now I get a dotted rectangle with a arrow pointing down saying MAIL ATTACHMENT and if I touch it with my cursor I get a Error saying I cant download the attachment?
    What is going on...

export the photo to the desktop and then attach it to the E-mail.
That's the way I used to do it also, but I just checked and I can drag a photo directly from iPhoto, or from the "Photo Browser" in Mail directly onto a new message. I get the green circle with a white + sign and the photo get's attached to the message.
I was surprised and pleased to see it work this way so easily.
