Alignment of text entered on forms

Hi. Just realized that there was an adobe forum. Hoping someone can assist with alignment issue.
Have several PDF forms form my site (www.singaporedoc.com) which users can download.
However, whilst the text area allows for at least 2-3 lines of text, the text when first entered appears somewhat too low down, like it is missing the first line.
Can't figure out how to solve this.
eg. if you look at http://www.singaporedoc.com/index.php/orthopaedic-surgery/?filter_order=cd.name
There is a PDF link there. Under "Clinical Diagnosis" and "Current Medication" I get the above problem.

Text entered in form fields in Reader 9 disappears to user

Forms were created in Live Cycle Designer 9 and published. The users have been upgraded to Reader 9 and when they fill out a form, the text disappears when they exit a field or tab to another (check boxes seem to work fine). They also cannot see the filled in data when they print. When the forms are submitted, I can read and print the filled in information.

I'm having a similar problem. The text in my forms fields (created via Acrobat 9 Pro) disappears from source field when I tab from source field to another but will reappear if I go back to source field. This is happening with Acrobat Reader 9. Reader tell me I can edit the fields and I can. The text is there when I edit the file with Acrobat. When I print with Reader 9 , the text does not print. I'm using trialware and trying to work using only the online help which is not that easy to do being a PDF editor newbie :-( . Thanks

How to allow, user to enter the free text in smart forms and Drop Down list

Hi Experts,
How to provide the user to enter text in smart forms? ie Once the smartform generated, there the user allowed to enter text.
And also is there any option to provide Dropdown list in smart forms.
Possible give with example with clear idea.

Hi!
No, there's no way to it, because Smartform is just like a piece of paper, it can't handle any objects, after it is ready.
It can be printed out/archived/sent on email as an attachment and that's all. It cannot be modified after it is completed.

Enter Requisition Form Query - Help Needed

Hi Forum,
I have a requirement to modify the lov for the Category field in the Enter Requisition form and add a new field.
The item is in the block :LINES.ITEM_CATEGORY.
So, I ftp'd the form and libraries onto my local drive which is in the FORMS60_PATH. When I open the form, it opens without any error. But it does not attach any libraries in it ?
Anyway, I looked at the form item and its a Text Item with a Lov 'ENABLE_LIST_LAMP' and a record Group with the same name. But this is a dummy record group.
Where is the Actual Query for this Record Group built ? I assume it is in some library, but how do i find which library ?
I cannot see anything in the WHEN-NEW-ITEM-INSTANCE or any other trigger having the query.
The Category is a KFF actually.

one more thing i notice is I can see in the KFF definition , the Value set = PO_ITEM_CATEGORY
But when I try to query for this Value set (of type independent) , in System Adminsitrator, no value set is being returned !
Am i missing something ? where are the values coming from ?

Need help on tips of Enter Key form Default Action!

Enter Key Form Action Default Command i had a problem.
Is there any way to avoid the Enter action.
I need the same functionality which they specified in the tips,but not while
enter on a text field.
I need that functionality(default command child) ,but that action should
happen only at onclick,onFocus etc.So how to do for that.
My Ultimate question is
I need a default handler method which should handle my request if i submit a
page thru javascript having document.form.submit().
Please help needed,i was exhausted in asking this question in so many ways.

Do look at the comment that Armin Reichert has put in. Now in the source code that he has provided, the last line should be

Have you done something similar to this?
Have you set the initializeLeadSelect property of the datasource node to true?

Using Rich Text in interactive form

Hi,
I am trying to enter rich text in a form and submitting it to a web dynpro application.
To achieve this I created a context attribute (type string) and mapped it through an interface with the form. In the form I created a text field (type XHTML). I unchecked the 'allow plain text only' option and unchecked the 'Allow multiple lines' option although multiple lines would be nice as my goal is to store a large block of rich formatted text.
When I press the submit button the form field is not synchronized with the wd application. Another (plain text) field works fine so I assume I have setup the interactive form ok. Please let me know what it is that I am doing wrong here. Or if it is not possible, let me know also.

No, not yet (I did not have time for it...). The next thing I will try is to modify my interface. At the moment I use a XML schedule based interface and I would like to try an ABAP based interface. Don't know if that will help but it is worth a try.

Procedure
1. To create a text node, call the context menu for that node in the tree structure that shall
receive the text and choose Create Text.
2. Enter a unique name for the node and a node description (for example, letter).
3. On the General Attributes tab choose Include text as text type.
Since you edit a text element, an included text, or a text module exclusively via the
text node, the system stores only information on the selected type. When you
change the text type, the system therefore asks for your confirmation.
4. In the Text key box, identify the include text.
To identify individual text objects, use the search help in this field.
The search help of the Text name field allows you include the attributes of SAPscript
texts into the search.
7. If required, use the Paragraph formats box to format the include text:
The style assigned to the text node contains a format for the standard paragraph ('*'). If you enter a paragraph format in the Standard paragraph field, this format overwrites the style format for all standard paragraphs in the include text that use this paragraph format.
Use the First paragraph field to set a paragraph format for the first paragraph of the
include text. This format also overwrites the format set in the style. If you set the First
paragraph field but leave the Standard paragraph field empty, the system uses the
format set in the First paragraph field for any standard paragraphs in the include text.
6. In the Text node box choose whether you want the text to start in a new paragraph, in a new
line, or directly at the end of the current paragraph.
7. If desired, choose the Output Options tab to maintain the style or box and shading
of the text.
Result
The system displays the node in the tree structure, including its name and description. The
included text is included only at the moment the form is processed.

Using formats of SO10 text in Adobe forms

Hello guys,
I got a question concerning the interaction of SO10 texts with adobe form text fields.
I know there are some threads about it here, and I think I understand the default SAP behavior, but can you please confirm if I am right? Then I got a special question about one case.
So is it right that there is only the difference between formatting the textfield itself in adobe form layout and adding a style to the text field in form context?
This means:
(1) Whenever in my text field in form context no style is added, the adobe form will take the formatting like it is done in the adobe form layout? This would mean that every format which is entered in the SO10 text is insignificant for the adobe form?
(2) Whenever in my text field a style is added, SAP will use SO10 text formats? This means, SAP searches for the smartforms style which is entered in the textfield and uses the formats from SO10 text like they were defined in the smartforms style?
Is this correct so far?
Now the special questions:
(1) What happens if a style is added, but the style does not exist as smartforms style. Which font etc. will be used then?
(2) What happens if a style is added, but the format of SO10 text does not exist in the smartform style?
In both cases it looks like SAP takes some "default" style, but where does it come from?

Display the all text entered for all folder at Item and Header level of PO

I have the task like the following :
In a PO there are text folders available at Header and Item level. I want POs with type Purchasing document type u2018ZFu2019 ( First Article PO ) should display all the texts entered into any of these folders either at Header level or Item level during print preview and PO output like Purchasing document type u2018NBu2019 ( Standard PO ).
u2022 The technical information relating above subject ( SAPScript ):
o The layout set ( form ): ZPCC_PURCHOR_STD
o Print program : SAPLMEDRUCK
u2022 The problems like the following :
o I found out the differences in debugging of 2 types of Purchasing document type u2018ZFu2019 and u2018NBu2019 .
o Only Purchasing document type u2018NBu2019 the print program processes Text Elements (HEADER_TEXT, ITEM_TEXT, SUPPL_TEXT) to display all the texts entered into any of these folders either at Header level or Item level.
o To control the displaying of Text Elements as I know I need a print program, however, our print program is standard print program of SAP system in this case. So I can not make any changes there.
Do we have the configuration place to this one.
Please help me to fix the problem. Thank you in advance !

I advise to use the subroutine pool as your sapscript is the bespoke one ( Z one) . So you can make use of the below pseudo code.
In the sapscript the point where you want to display the text include the following code (

Go - Connect to Server does NOT work - The text entered does not appear to

Two Macs with Mac OS X 10.5.2. Both migrated from Mac OS X 10.4.11. One Mactel and one PowerPC. I can see the former from the latter, but not the latter from the former:
Go/Connect to Server
gives this error all the time for all listed servers:
The text entered does not appear to be a recognized URL format
This does not help:

I'd do it on all of them.

Instead of entering any default text in the field, get rid of any scripting you currently have for the field and use the following custom Format script:
// Custom Format script
if (!event.value) event.value = "Your default text goes here.";
The string you specify here will be displayed when the field is blank, and the text that's entered in the fields otherwise. It will also go away when the field has the focus, which is what you want.

Display instantly the length of the text entered in the rich text editor

Hi everybody,
I'm developing an apex application with apex 4.1.1 and Oracle 11.2.
I have a page in which I have a form that allows to create a new message on the database.
A message has a title, description, text and date.
For the text I use the item "rich editor text". The problem is that item doesn't show the length of characters entered (character counter for the textarea). In the database the corresponding column is varchar2(2000). What I do is a validation after submit that checks if the limit 2000 was exceeded or not.
But what I want to do more is to display instantly the length of the text entered in the editor. I have tried to do that through a dynamic action. But the event "onChange" for the item "rich text editor" didn't work.
Has anyone any idea about that issue?

sorry about that, I missed that tidbit in your OP... well I think there is a good reason why there isn't a count character option -- due to the hidden "html" characters responsible for the "richness" (bold/color, etc) applied to the text would be difficult to count true characters.. if I was bent on doing this, I'd continue using the item you are using, but have a HIDDEN text area that is updated via javascript onkeyup for each keystroke (again, keeping in mind you'd have to filter certain keys) and then that intelligence could be used. I would probably dig through the javascript responsible for the rich text editor (is it still fckeditor??) -- there might already be code in there that isn't clearly visible to you that does this already.. alas, I see now the validity of your challenge.

Copy text restriction and Form Distribution

Hello,
I am doing a project using the trial version of Adobe LiveCycle ES4 designer suite. I want a situation where users can enter data in the form and save it and at the same time they should not be able to copy text from the form.
If I put copy text restriction on the form, then I am unable to distribute the form and vice versa. By form distribution, I am saving a copy on my machine to test it.
Can you please suggest me what should I do to have both copy text restriction & form distribution possible?
A quick response would really be appreciated.

I don't really know if the text field can be selected using Ctl+a, but if that is possible how about adding extra text field that is linked to pulldown menu?
If the usage of the PDF is only for copying, then I would make a formcalc or javascript to combine all the text into one text field so that user only need to copy paste one field.

Assuming by "interactive text boxes" you mean form fields; in Acrobat, make a form field, then copy it and paste. (GIve the pasted copy a different name so they don't genetate the same field feedback.) Now you have two fields of the exact same size. Shift-click or marquee-drag to select both, then right-click and choose a command from the Align, Distribute or Center menu.

Displaying text on a form

Hello,
I'm running into an issue where an incorrect text ID is displayed on our billing form. On our form we are displaying text ID ZCLN and we want to use ID 0002. How can we configure which texts display on a form?
edit: more specifically, we're trying to figure out how the text is read from the sales order to the billing form. The text isn't copied from the sales order to the billing document directly, but we display the text on the form. When we create the billing document we are getting an entry in table STXH, but it is for ZCLN text ID and we want to use 0002.

Hi,
Please note that you should use a function module instead of fetching texts from table.
For this:
Goto SE37 & enter "READ_TEXT" & execute
enter the details as under:
CLIENT xxx
ID 0002
LANGUAGE E
NAME document number with padded zero
OBJECT object in which ur texts goes (eg VBBP etc)
& execute, you will see your text.
Now ask your ABAPer to include this call function code in your print program logic, thats it.
