Alignment & Spacing Problems

Please look at my page:
http://kiefferfurniture.com/furniture/spotlight/spotlight.htm
At the bottom are 2 library items set in a table (the
copyright notice, and the contact info). Viewed in DWCS3, there is
no space between them, but viewed in a browser there is, what am I
doing wrong? Thanks.

Hi TeleTriageRN and welcome to our community
For question 1, look at Project > Autosize Captions
For question 2, I would think you can accomplish this by
fudging it a bit. Create the entire list as you wish to see it.
Then cleverly layer in a Highlight Box object that covers the bits
you don't want to show.
For question 3, you may gain some assistance by opening an
instance of Windows Notepad. Copy from PowerPoint then paste into
Notepad. Then copy from Notepad and paste into Captivate. (using
Notepad should strip any formatting and linking involved)
Hopefully this helps... Rick

  • Repeating frame spacing Problem in Reports 6i

    I have a Matrix with Group report. Now I have two sections (one is matrix section, second is Grand totals section).
    After I run the report layout ,Matrix section data (repeating frame) is appearing at one spacing but the other repeating frame in Grand Totals - appears in the same page (below the Matrix data section) with different spacing and aligning.
    I’ve attached the output of the sample report. You can find the aligning/spacing problem between Matrix data (one repeating frame) and Grand Total data (another repeating frame)
    This is the problem, I have tried changing all the properties, but all in vain. I feel that the repeating frame in Grand Totals appears exactly at the same position as the first one.
    Please help...
    Ratnakar.

    Hi,
    There are no such limitations with Reports. If I understand properly, you run the Report twice, in each run, you are trying to execute different query, and you generate two dilimited Reports output files? This should work fine. Try out the latest Reports 6i patch-10 for this. You can even approach Oracle Support with your testcase. FYI, with Reports 6i patch-11, a new feature "dlimited data" is introduced which will give delimited output with a data dump i.e it would not be dependent upon the Reports layout. You can probably try out this new feature also.
    Thanks,
    Rohit Hi Rohit,
    Thanks for the information.
    well I am generating single output file on each run .
    the problem is somewhat funny.
    I have build query2 in data model after query1.
    query 1 is giving me correct output both in .PDF and delimiter version.
    But query2 is giving me 0 byte file for delimiter version although in .PDF it is running fine.
    When I took out query2 to another module it is running fine for both.
    I hope this make sense.
    Moreover if u still not clear about the problem and thinks that u can help me out please send me ur mail id so that I can send you the RDF copy.
    Thanks

  • Spacing Problem. Can't get rid of it after paragraph break.

    I am creating an html email for Constant Contact and am limited to in-line span styles. I have not been able to eliminate spacing problem between paragraphs. It seems there is a default that is over-riding my padding settings. Any suggestions?

    I dont see an opening body tag or a closing head tag. You also did not close off your <li> tags with </li>.  I dont see the need for a span tag, and while the css is not inline, it is all on the one page, so it should be fine.
    I sent myself this email and I had no gaps or spacing issues.

  • PDF Letterhead Text LINE SPACING PROBLEM

    I recently upgraded from Pro 8 to X Pro on my Windows XP desktop. With Pro * I used the typewriter fucntion to place text onto my pdf letterhead. I have my letterhead in pdf format on my hardrive. I saved this texted letterhead without a problem, i.e., with the font, paragraphs, and line spacing eaxtly as it was when I creared it. With X Pro, after having placed text in my letterhead using the Typewriter function, my attempt to save the texted in letter head results in a pdf document which does not respect the line spacing I used w=hen creating it. Why am I have this line spacing problem?

    Thank you Michael,
    I am simply trying to continue using X Pro the way I used Pro 8. In Pro 8 I
    used the Typewriter function to input text to the letter head stored in my
    hard drive. Perhaps this is a functionality I lost as a result of the
    upgrade to X Pro -- I hope not??

  • Spacing problem

    Hi,
    I am working on Java Swings and Iam new to it.
    Can anybody help me with my problem please...
    I have 5 panels and all these are palced in one main panel.
    I have :
    Panel1
    Panle2
    Panel3
    Panel4
    Panle5
    Panel6
    panel7
    All these are placed in main panel according to the ActionListener.
    when event1 is triggered,I need to place panel1,Panel2,Panel3,Panel4,Panel5 in Main panel.
    When event2 is triggered ,I need to place panel1,panel6,panel3,panel4,panel5 in main Panel.
    When event3 is triggered ,I need to palce panel1,panel2,panel7,panel4,panel5 in main panel.
    I coded all the panels and placed the components.But I when i place the panels ,I am getting spacing problems.
    and when I resize the main panel,I am losing components in the panels.
    Can anybody help with code please.
    I also need calender textfield with small icon besides it that pops up calender and when user selects date it should take in "yyyymmdd" format.
    Thanks,
    Tutika.

    Don't forget to use the [url

    If you add components to a visible panel then you
    need to revalidate() the panel so the layout manager
    can be invoked again.

  • Scatter brush spacing problem

    1. original
    2. doubled horizontal size of the line
    Hello,
    I'm using scatter brush to draw multiple lines with random size and angle(image 1.), and trying to increase only the horizontal size(image 2.), keeping the interval the same. But when I do, the interval is also increased since 'Spacing' option follows the size of the base object.  I could adjust and decrease the spacing value, but the problem is, spacing option cannot go below 1%. So if want to increase the line size and maintain the interval, there's no way to do it. expending then scaling could work, but that's not what I want. Is there any way to solve this?
    Thank you in advance.

    If I understand correctly.....
    Extend the brush path, that is to say, use the Direct Selection Tool to click and drag one of the path anchors. Don't scale the path. At least for vertical size.
    If you need to scales the brush horizontally, the only real way to ensure the art stays relatively close to teh brush is to either ajust the brush options or expand the brush prior to horizontal scaling.

  • CSS Align right problem

    Hi
    I am using the following css to align a div to the right hand
    side of the
    page:
    #headerRight { RIGHT: 10px; MARGIN-RIGHT: 0px; POSITION:
    absolute; TOP: 5px;
    align: right; border: 0; width: 235px;}
    The above seems to work well, except for one small annoying
    problem. If the
    content of the page is wide and causes the horizontal scroll
    bar to appear,
    then the div seems to work as it appears 10px from the right
    side of the
    window. However if I move the horizontal scroll bar over to
    the right, then
    the div doesnt move accordingly.
    If I then resize the browser window, then the div moves and
    always lines up
    10px from the edge no matter what size the window is.
    Anyone know where I am going wrong, or need any more
    information?
    Thanks
    Brendan

    Solved the problem by using the following javascript code:
    function scrollDetect(){
    document.getElementById("headerRight").style.left =
    document.body.clientWidth - 245 + document.body.scrollLeft;
    setInterval("scrollDetect()", 500);
    Where 245 is the width of the div.
    Only problem is that the code probably isnt cross browser at
    the moment, but
    I'll work on that.
    Thanks again for all your help.

  • Address Spacing Problem in Reports

    Hi everyone
    I am having problems with spacing in one of my reports for addresses:
    This is the format I would like to have
    Address Line1
    Bldg Name
    Address Line2
    Address Line3
    City, Province/State, Postal Code/Zip Country
    Sample Address with Bldg Name being null as I would like all fields to be moved up by one
    123 ABC St
    PO Box 10000
    STN CSC
    Seattle, WA 11111 USA
    However, this is the result shown on my report as STN CSC is getting bumped into the Bldg Name field instead of 123 ABC St
    123 ABC St
    STN CSC
    PO Box 10000
    Seattle, WA 11111 USA
    So can anyone help on why Address line 3 STN CSC is getting bumped into the BLDG Name field when Address Line 2 should get bumped up one line. I have created a format trigger on the bldg name field that says this:
    if :bldg_name is null then
    return (FALSE)
    else
    return (TRUE)
    end if;
    Any help or suggestions would be appreciated

    Yeah, it does make me appreciate Wordpress. I would have
    stuck with it, but
    when I found out that you have to pay to edit your CSS (on
    their hosted
    plan), I switched back to Blogger!
    I'll keep my eye on that beta ("draft") version of Blogger. I
    have to be
    cautious with my client's account, but maybe I'll try it for
    my own blogs.
    Thanks again...!

  • Photosmart - Printing alignment page problem

    Setting up my printer and it is trying to print the alignment page but every time it prints a blank page. I am pretty sure it's a hardware problem (cartridges are brand new) but cannot nail down the exact reason why.
    Thanks in advance.

    What printer model? What operating system? Make sure the clear protective tape has been removed from the cartridges.

  • Justify with last line aligned left - Problem

    I have a problem with the formatation of my text in indesign. Even though i have chosen "Justify with last line aligned left" Indesign justifies all lines exept in one paragraph. Is there someone of you who have had the same problem?
    Sincerly

    I'm not seeing the invisibles, and you highlighted more than I asked for, but it actually does seem to confirm Harbs' soft return theory since some of theose spaces between "paragraphs" are actually empty lines of some sort.
    Sof t returns, or forced line breaks, are entered by hitting Shift + Enter. They can be useful for controlling styling, among other things, precisely because they don't create a new paragraph. Because there is no new paragraph created after the soft return, the line contaning it is not a last line in the paragraph and doesn't obey the last line formatting in justified text.

  • Signature and Reply spacing problems in Mail

    2 minor problems I can't seem to fix. Outside of these, my switch from about 8 years of Entourage has been fairly painless.
    When I reply to a message, Mail leaves just enough space for the cursor, but the return message I'm typing is right on top of the reply's history. My other mail program would have an extra return added. In fact, when I forward an email in Mail, the extra return is there, just not when I reply. I can't find any kind of Preference setting or logic for this. Any ideas how to force the extra return in there?
    I've had nothing but bizarre behavior from the signatures. Here's 2 of them:
    I have numerous signatures for my numerous accounts. It seems when I go to do a minor tweak, the spacing beneath the signature changes. Also, I have selected, "Always match my default signature font" (verdana 12). Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Dave

    For 2 make sure this is off:
    Sorry, don't know the answer to 1.

  • White spacing problem in Firefox

    Dear,
    I have styled my pages using an external CSS, but now I have
    serious problem with white spacing, it is very large, not
    exaggerate, but it is different in Firefox than it is in Safari, I
    have added an top line with margin and padding all set to zero, but
    still not really helping, any one has an idea how I could solve
    this.
    PS. I am attaching my CSS to the pages through

    Ref:
    http://www.oviplanete.com/
    First, change this:
    <link rel="stylesheet" href="main.css" media="all" />
    to this:
    <link rel="stylesheet" href="main.css" media="all"
    type="text/css" />
    I see you've zeroed out the margins/paddings for p (twice) in
    the CSS
    and that you're using <p> </p> to insert white
    space between
    paragraphs. While their margins are all zero, you are still
    depending
    on browsers using default line heights for a given
    font/font-size. Just
    guessing that that is causing what you're seeing.
    I suggest setting the top/bottom margins for p and removing
    the empty
    paragraphs. Maybe in here:
    #wrapper #maincontent p {
    margin: 0.9em 0; /* just matching your font-size declaration
    padding: 0px;
    But really, I find you have already reduced the differences
    (on
    Windows) to a good level. Striving for pixel perfection in
    this medium
    can only go so far before you start spending too much
    time/money on it.
    You will never get perfectly identical font rendering across
    browsers
    and operating systems.

  • There is some line spacing problem.

    most of the app in my mac, such as adium and notebook,,,with a strange line spacing.
    just like the picture below shown.
    How can i solve this ?
    Otherwise, I can't use most of the apps.

    The computer is not too old (and neither are you ).   It may be better if you could upgrade it from 10.5.8 to 10.6 ... but that would not solve this problem.
    As both Paul and I have advised ... get yourself on Pages > go to the View menu and halfway down is the option 'Show Inspector'.   You'll end up with a panel like Paul showed you in his post of 08:42.   Let's see what you can do from there.

  • Finder Window Icon View Spacing Problem

    I just restarted my system. Now every window has my icons horizontally spaced much further appart than before. The vertical distance has remained normal. I used "keep arranged by name" and the spacing was always the width of 3 characters. Now the width is at least 40 characters. Deselecting the "keep arranged by" allows me to move the icons closer but that is not a good solution. Is there a setting for the spacing? Making the icon size smaller doesn't change the spacing. Making the Text smaller reduces the spacing a bit but not even close to the "original" distance.

    I think the only way now would be to uncheck the "Keep arranged by" option and then to drag them as close as you want. However, if you know how to use the Terminal, you can probably change the automatic spacing that way.
