All Ace members and Oracle forum moderators/administrators
Dont you guys think that we need a way to stop threads once the problem is resolved as per the user who posted the question ?
Regards,
http://askyogesh.com
I understand, my aims was, instead of just saying what is your OS or what is your Oracle version, one could say, this differce on OS to OS and Oracle version to Oracle version and giving little hint/answer to the question.Assume that there for example n different OS and n different versions of Oracle SW.
Somebody ask the question (reason of problem is specific for OS or version of DB) and don't provide OS version and DB version.
Means that you will give him n hints/answers? Probably no.
There is problem people creating topics with lack description of problem/question. Bad subject "Urgent!!!! I need help!!!" instead of "Frequent ORA-xxxxxx errors on 9.x.x.x"
or description "My database suddenly crashed. Why?" instead of detailed description including OS, DB version and errors from alert log.
If someone didn't provide useful information I will ask for it but I won't writing "novel" to my post.

6. It will stop more talking over limitations and demerit in comparisons to other RDBMS.Probably not. See my earlier comment about religion.
7. It will provide answers to how to provide ease, robust, long lasting solution and ultimate use of

My Oracle Forums Handle Name Changed without my notice!!!
Hello Oracle Forums Moderators,
I joined Oracle Forums 04/04/08 with and email address (1). I decided to change my email address and handle names, so my forums handle name is cutedba and my email address is (2). I already had like 8 posts in oracle forums. Today when I logged to oracle forums I found my handle name is user8722709 and my posts resets to only one post (with this thread, it will become two posts).
and my joining date became 08/19/09.
I went to the control panel and edited the profile and handle name to cutedba. I received the following message:
"The handle you are trying to update is already being used, please identify any other value and retry."
and I logged as my new email address (2) as usual. Please fix this for me. Because I am the cutedba in Oracle Forums.
I also want to mark one of the threads I created earlier as answered but I can't the forum thinks I am not the author of that thread:
How to install multiple oracle homes in oralce 9i on unix
Thank you and best regards,
cutedbaOk, let's see if I understand this clearly (cos if I don't then I'm sure the site admin won't)...
1. You created an account (let's call it "Account 1")...
Acount 1:-
Email Address: [email protected]
Forum Notifications Email: [email protected]
Handle: {default}
2. You created a second account (let's call it "Account 2")...
Account 2:-
Email Address: [email protected]
Forum Notifications Email: [email protected]
Handle: {default}
3. You modifed Account 1 to change the Forum Notifications Email and the handle:
Account 1:-
Email Address: [email protected]
Forum Notifications Email: [email protected]
Handle: cutedba
That's right.
all my forum participation were updated including post numbers.
What was updated? All you did was change your notification email and your handle on Account 1?You are right.
I also successfully login using email id (B) with the password, no issues.Yes, I dedicated an email account for oracle stuff and I used it to create an oracle account (Account B) because I couldn't delete/disable Account A from oracle.
>
4/ submitted a new thread in oracle forum as in the link I mentioned earlier.I don't see that has any relevance.correct!
5/ when I visited back Oracle Forums Today, I saw that my post count reset to 1 (last reply) and the system identified me as a different user (user8722709) than cutedba. I went to the Control Panel and Modified the Name Handle for forums back to cutedba . I received the message mentioned earlier.Which account did you log on as?Account B
It seams that Oracle forums end me up with two identities!!But you created two, so there will be two. ?:|Because oracle will not delete/disable account A
Please I need you to help on fixing this issue.I'm just a user of OTN like yourself, I can't fix it, I'm just trying to help ascertain exactly what you've done.I understand, thank you for help and make this issue clearer even to me ;-)
One more thing, I logged in to oracle forums using email (A) and my profile cutedba is there.Brilliant, that's what I'd expect.
I went to the Control panel and found the Username is still with email (A) but the forums email is with email and (B).Exactly, that's also what I'd expect.
But why still the the username did not changed and my profile is not updated yet?On which account?Account A
Occasionally, if OTN have been doing upgrades or such things, I believe the forums will move across to the failover servers, so sometimes changes to profiles may not be picked up or transferred back to the main servers. However, you said you'd logged in with Account 1 and it said cutedba on it.
I think it is the same bug in the forums.
I feel this too.
I wish if OTN has the ability to allow users to delete account that are no longer necessary, like my case here. Account A is no longer necessary for me but if switched the handle names between account A and B, I still can't get the credits and links for Account B profile.
How to report OTN bugs?

Cutedba -

I think the first method will work though.
Side question: I placed `rejectnon_fqdnsender'

You can place rejectnon_fqdnsender anywhere you like or even omit it, but I don't see why you would have to. -
To all Oracle ACE Member and others
Hi there Oracle ACE Member and forum members.
I have need an answer to the real question of the moment.
What is the best technology in the chapter of performance?
- Toplink
- Business Components
What are the advantages of each technology and which are u using and why?
ThanksYou cant say one is more performant than the other - you can write fast/slow applications in each. The choice is down to, not performance, but other features like development experience, expectations, development styles.
Shay does a nice summary in his blog so instead of repeating I'll just point you to here

It's my 3000 post – Oracle ACE and Oracle employees
Hello,
So, this is my post number 3000. In this forum, it’s not so unique, but still I decided to dedicate it to the subject of Oracle ACE and Oracle employees.
Recently, Joel blogged about Carl awarded Oracle ACE (http://joelkallman.blogspot.com/2009/02/carl-backstrom-oracle-ace.html), after special efforts made by Sharon, because “the folks at the Oracle Technology Network decided that Oracle employees could no longer be awarded the ACE designation”. I truly wish I could write that Carl is a living proof of this decision being misguided. Unfortunately, I can’t. However, Carl’s case paints the situation in strong colors. Only after his death, Carl was honored with something that I’m sure seems so obvious to most of us.
I’m thinking that if this decision, not to award Oracle employees with Oracle ACE, was made sooner, people like Scott and Joel would not have awarded Oracle ACE, not to mention Tom Kyte, and probably others I’m not familiar with. Scott and Joel deals with APEX all day long, as part of their job, and this forum is not part of their day job description. Still, they find the time to help us all. Just look at the post counter of Scott. I’m amazed each time I see it. Scott, with all his experience, doesn’t limit himself to only the most complicated issues. You can see his replies, to the most basic issues, almost every day. Joel never failed helping me, and many others on this forum, every time there is an issue only he can help with. Scott and Joel were lucky, and have been awarded Oracle ACE, prior to this decision. Carl was less lucky, and as Joel wrote, I can’t think of anyone who better represent the true meaning and spirit of the Oracle ACE program.
The point I’m trying to make is that Oracle ACE should not be left for luck and timing, or place of work, for that matter. I’m sure that the OTN folks had best intensions when making this decision. I can understand that people might suspect favoritism toward Oracle employees; however, the solution shouldn’t be the easy one – no to every Oracle employee.
While writing, I can think of Tyler. He’s no longer a member of the APEX team, but we can still enjoy his wisdom and experience on this forum, not to mention his APEX dedicated blog entries, were he covers special and more complex aspects of working with this tool. I don’t know if Tyler qualifies to become Oracle ACE (and, of course, I’m only using him as an example) but it seems wrong to me not to even consider it, just because he happens to work for Oracle. I’m sure there are others like Tyler, in the other forums. I believe that this kind of behavior, by Oracle employees, should be encouraged, and not taken for granted. Certainly, they shouldn’t be penalized.
So, what all of this has to do with my 3000 posts? I believe I earned the right to call myself a frequent poster on this forum. As such, I know how time consuming this forum can be, not to mention the hard and tedious job of keep repeating the same answers to the same questions, keep pointing to old references, and such. So, I want to take this opportunity to thank all the active participants of this forum, Oracle employees and others. In spite of all the hardship, this forum can also be very rewarding, and at least for me, a very educated experience. I learned a lot in my attempts to help others. I can all heartedly recommend it to everyone who enjoys helping others, and enriching him /her self in the process.
Regards,
Arie.If I understand you correctly, you ought to reinstall. At this point, even if you're able to resurrect this installation, it might be severely unstable. Mostly because of my proclivity for messing around with settings until I screw something up, I have a tremendous amount of experience with the recovery console, and my success rate is not inspiring. If you have data you need on the drive, your best course of action is to reinstall to a different boot drive, and once you’re able to boot, archive the files you want from the corrupted installation. Then you can wax both drives, restore the data and get everything back the way you want it. Getting your data back from the recovery console is basically a lost cause since it doesn't support wildcards (as in, you'd have to copy every freaking file one at a time).
I re-read the above paragraph, and it's not the clearest thing I've ever written, so if you need clarification on anything, let me know. -
Getting All Local Groups, Group Members and Local accounts on all Servers
Hello Everyone,
Sorry if this has been covered already, but I didnt see anything that quite answered my question.
I've been given the task of generating an Access Control List here at work and I've managed to piece together a few scripts that gets me so close it's frustrating.
The script I have now will parse through a text file with all my Windows servers listed in it and it does output in the console the server name, all of the groups on the server (Administrators, Remote Users, Backup Operators, etc.) and all the individual
members of those groups and nested groups.
However, I can't seem to get it to export to a CSV for easy digestion. I've tried to pipe the export-csv command, but the csv it gives me doesnt have any useful information in it.
Here is the script:
$list =@()
$Servers=Get-Content ListOfComputers.txt
foreach($server in $Servers) {
$server | % {
$server = $_
$server
$computer = [ADSI]"WinNT://$server,computer"
$computer.psbase.children | where { $_.psbase.schemaClassName -eq 'group' } | foreach {
"`tGroup: " + $Group.Name
$group =[ADSI]$_.psbase.Path
$group.psbase.Invoke("Members") | foreach {
$us = $_.GetType().InvokeMember("Adspath", 'GetProperty', $null, $_, $null)
$us = $us -replace "WinNT://",""
$class = $_.GetType().InvokeMember("Class", 'GetProperty', $null, $_, $null)
$list += new-object psobject -property @{Group = $group.Name;Member=$us;MemberClass=$class;Server=$server}
"`t`tMember: $us ($Class)"
The format it pumps out to the console is good, other than it's somewhat upside down, the members are all listed above the group name such as below, where there's no members in the Administrators group, but User1, 2 and 3 are part of the Remote Desktop Group.
This isn't horrible as I can cut and paste it out of the console and into a spreadsheet, but then i have to shift things up a row and doing that for the entire list is going to be way more work than I'd like.
Server01
Administrators
User1
User2
User3
Remote Desktop Users
When I use export-csv on the script above I get a bunch of numbers rather than groups or members like this:
Length
13
51
40
35
63
63
35
32
Hopefully, there's someone out there who can help me tweak this script so that I can just dump it all to a csv and be done, with little to no massaging of the data afterward.
Thanks in advance,
TylerSure. After you've run the script, type this in the console:
$list | Export-Csv .\groupInformation.csv -NoTypeInformation
You'll then have a CSV file in the directory, open that with Excel and see if that gives you the information you're after.

Note to Forum moderators/PR/anyone at Creative who will listen and A
Dear Forum Moderators/PR punchbags,?It seems Creative doesn't mind continually taking punches from the general public, and the longer Creative waits, the more annoyed people are getting. We always hear the Creative moderators saying they are sending feedback up the corporate ladder, however we are yet to hear any form of decent news/updates on the X-Fi drivers which clearly have a multitude of issues. While I don't doubt the Creative moderators are doing their job, I (and i'm sure I speak on behalf of many others) expect to hear a decent reply from someone who has the authority to do so. We all paid good money for the product, and do not deserve to be ignored!?What do Creative have to say about the blatant ignorance of the existing "issue-ridden" X-Fi drivers for Vista? And what is Creative doing right now to rectify the issue? Why have so many good paying customers been left out in the dark for this long? And why do Creative continue to market the X-Fi as "Vista ready" when there is blatant evidence it is no where near "ready" for Vista?
Watching NASDAQ on tues told something of what was discussed here. Creatives main problem is trying to be all things to all people and insisting on in-house manufacture of their computer peripherals. While they may be able to control quality somewhat, their competition has the edge in cheaper labour. Note, the drastic cuts in R&D in the last 8 months. This is all relati'vely normal for companies this size. One other thing that is making hard for them to be competati've is being an american based company. However, doubtful this is going to bankrupt them, or negati'vely effect them in a way that they cannot shake off easily. Guaranteed, if and when drivers & software are released, so present gen cards work with vista, the very small (albeit vocal) community here on the forum will tone down the rhetoric. Creatives money is not made in retail, it's made in wholesale contracts to the likes of Dell for example, and 90% of all onboard sound chips have been Creative Labs and will likely continue to be. (note X-fi chips sold to makers?such as?azureus) This entire fiasco has been a lesson in consumer strategies as companies push and pull the marketplace to suit their manufacturing needs, not fill a void?of supply and demand as we would like it to be. The reality is Creative is under very little obligation to support these cards under vista, is it a good business decision? I dont think so. It sure would be nice if they has some respect for the retail customer. Some good old fashioned?PR would be nice here too. Will this sink them? Probably not. Would we like them to go bankrupt and send apology emails to all of us? Absolutely, nothing less. Is that reality? No. I simlpy won't put this much emphesis on my computer systems sound functions until I see what is being manufactured. And there are some really really good looking contenders right now. And several more to be released over the summer. In retrospect, this is a good thing Creative are doing by throwing the market wide open. This has been longed for, almost 8 years now. Don?t get me wrong, I still think this was and is a truly crappy thing they are doing, but in the long run, we win, becasue finally, we will have cards that rock, and people that care about the end user.Message Edited by scorpion_saga on 05-03-200703:30 AM

Is it possible to have two (or more) different icloud mail accounts (not alias) under the same apple id? If not what is you best advice for all family members to have their own e-mail and still share the purchases under the same apple id. Thanks

There should be no issues. Its designed to work like that. You don't change Apple IDs just because you get a new device.

Is there any chance that the phones can fall out of sync?
Unlikely. But nothing is impossible. Though I don;t see how that would happen. As long as both are signed into the Same Apple ID / iCloud Account they will be N'Sync. (Bad Joke)

If I get a message or buy an app or take a photo on the iPhone 5, how do I get those things onto the iPhone 6?
If you buy an App, you have 2 ways to get it to the iPhone6: If Automatic Downloads is enabled in Settings->iTunes & App Store, it will automatically download to the iPhone 6 when you buy it on the 5 and vice versa if you buy it on the 6, it will download to the 5.
Alternatively, you can simply go to the App Store App->Updates->Purchased and look for the App there and download it. Purchased Apps will not require payment again. i.e They'll be free to download to the iPhone 6 once purchased.
SMS Messages will sync over using Continuity as long as they are on the same Wifi network. Otherwise, restoring the iPhone 5 backup to the iPhone 6 will transfer all messages received up until the backup was made onto the iPhone 6.
Images, can be transferred either through Photo Stream
My Photo Stream FAQ - Apple Support
Or any Cloud service you want such as Dropbox, or One Drive.
mannyace wrote:
Also, something i forgot to ask initially: Should I update the iPhone 5 to iOS 8 first or does that not matter?
If you want the Continuity features as explained above you need to update the iPhone 5 to iOS 8. Otherwise its not all that important. -
How can I set up an SMS group so that all group members can dial a group number and have a text sent out to all members of the group
This would be an SMS group similar to an email listserv but running on the SMS network
I have seen private individuals offering this service
It seems strange to me that no internet site like Apple, Yahoo or Google offers this as a free service much as the email group services are free services.
SteveI think the app GroupMe might do what you want. You might also try contacting your carrier. My carrier offered some fancy group texting service for a while but they never really advertised it so, unless you asked, you never would have known. But, GroupMe is available in the app store. There are lots of other apps that also do group texting but it seems to be the one that gets recommended the most.

About 1 year ago, I can not access the App Store. The message that appears is: "One Moment Please. Connecting to the iTunes Store. Loading ... " I've tried all the aids presented in this and other forums and nothing solves. iTunes connects normaly...
Your profile indicates your Mac is running v10.7.2
If that is correct, updating your system software may help.
Click Software Update from the Apple menu.
Restart your Mac after updates are installed then try the App Store.
If you can't update that way, there's a workaround.
Install the OS X Lion Update 10.7.5 (Client Combo)
Then restart your Mac and try the App Store.

libraries can be added on the project level. Open the project properties (context menu) and choose the library node. I am afraid, but I don' think there is a tutorial that explains end-to-end what is your development assignment

Have raised Multiple TAC cases and Captured Millions of Packets but no reason. The ACE resource and CPU Usage is Normal and no increase noticed.
Issues Happening is that when connection to one serverfarm cross 1000, all other serverfarms and VIP of that context are facing very very slowness ,and they have no relation with each other both Physically and Fictionally
If any of you have heard of similar issue can you refer me a solution if the issue is with ACEHi Shirshendu,

Using ios 7.0.4 can a group email be sent either from icloud or iPhone by a means other than selecting the individual Contact, ie; can the group be selected and then an email composed that will send the message to all group members.
Hi Richard,
Thanks for the reply - I think I've sorted it though and there isn't actually an issue.
The whole group wasn't receiving the NDR, only the group manager which I setup a few weeks prior. This is a new feature so it complies with certain RFC's, basically the group manager will recieive the NDR to let them know there is a problem.
