All Adobe applications crash with latest Safari

I updated to the most recent Safari 4.0.2, and now none of my Adobe applications will open. They all crash before they even start. Acrobat Reader, Adobe Elements, Dreamweaver all result in the same message "The application Photoshop Elements (or Dreamweaver, Reader) has unexpectedly quit." I had no problems until the latest install two days ago. Any fixes for this issue?

What is your exact brand/model graphics adapter (ATI or nVidia or ???)
What is your exact graphics adapter driver version?
Have you gone to the vendor web site to check for a newer driver?
For Windows, do NOT rely on Windows Update to have current driver information
-you need to go direct to the vendor web site and check updates for yourself

  • Hi all, I got problem with my Safari!?

Hi all, I got problem with my Safari, same with Google Chrome, when trying to block pops-up. It's already ticked on BLOCK but everytime i click on new link, an annoyed pop-up appeared (game online, Mackeeper ...), any advice?

There is no need to download anything to solve this problem.
You may have installed the "Downlite" or "VSearch" ad-injection malware. Follow the instructions on this Apple Support page to remove it.
Back up all data before making any changes.
Malware is always changing to get around the defenses against it. In addition to, or instead of, the files listed in the support article, you may need to remove the following items:
    /Library/Application Support/dot
    /Library/LaunchAgents/com.dot.agent.plist
    /Library/LaunchDaemons/com.dot.daemon.plist
    /Library/LaunchDaemons/com.dot.helper.plist
    /System/Library/Frameworks/v.framework
One of the steps in the article is to remove malicious Safari extensions. Do the equivalent in the Chrome and Firefox browsers, if you use either of those. If Safari crashes on launch, skip that step and come back to it after you've done everything else.
If you don't find any of the files or extensions listed, or if removing them doesn't stop the ad injection, then you may have one of the other kinds of adware covered by the support article. Follow the rest of the instructions in the article.
The problem may have started when you downloaded and ran an application called "MPlayerX." That's the name of a legitimate free movie player, but the name is also used fraudulently to distribute VSearch. If there is an item with that name in the Applications folder, delete it, and if you wish, replace it with the genuine article from mplayerx.org.
This malware is often found on illegal websites that traffic in pirated content such as movies. If you, or anyone else who uses the computer, visit such sites and follow prompts to install software, you can expect more of the same, and worse, to follow. Never install any software that you downloaded from a bittorrent, or that was downloaded by someone else from an unknown source.
In the Security & Privacy pane of System Preferences, select the General tab. The radio button marked Anywhere  should not be selected. If it is, click the lock icon to unlock the settings, then select one of the other buttons. After that, don't ignore a warning that you are about to run or install an application from an unknown developer.
Still in System Preferences, open the App Store or Software Update pane and check the box marked
Install system data files and security updates
    if it's not already checked.

  • Applications crashing with dyld error messages: CFURLStorageSessionGetDefault

All was working fine (been told to hold off on updates so have not installed them, yet I am running 10.6.8 [10K549]).  Suddenly after a reboot applications crash with the same error:
    Dyld Error Message:
      Symbol not found: __CFURLStorageSessionGetDefault
      Referenced from: /System/Library/Frameworks/Foundation.framework/Versions/C/Foundation
      Expected in: /System/Library/Frameworks/CoreServices.framework/Versions/A/Frameworks/CFNetwo rk.framework/Versions/A/CFNetwork
Can not open Terminal.  Can not open Skype (removed 2.x version, downloaded latest 5.3.59 and installed), can not run Evolution (starts, but when clicking a message same error).  Attempted to install 10.6.8 bundled update (manual download), but when selected to open get yet again - the same crash error.
Was able to create a new user and same issues with that account.  Any help?!

My system has a PGP encrypted disk (so no booting from CD to fix).  It appears that one of Apple's AUTO updates (though I have them manually turned off!!) has screwed my system to the point of making the OS show up as a version that is not running.  Due to the versioning not being right the applications crash.  The verdict: rebuild.
    So yeah, this *****.

I have a problem with my Adobe Cs3 Design Premium package. I don't know if i have the correct forum section.

Does anyone know this issue? and what can i do about it?
    I really appreciate any help,
    Jasper Bakkker

    Hi Hugo
    1. Do You have upgraded QuickTime to v.7 if not don't, else downgrade to
        6.5.2
    2. Do You have enough free space on Your hard disk eg 20Gb recommended
    3. Do You start Your projects from within iMovie with the function
Share/Export to iDVD. I don't. I use the ref. movie in the project
folder/icon and close iMovie so that only iDVD is running
    4. Do You do other thing during DVD-processing. Don't.

  • Application crash with error ntdll.dll 00018fea

    Hi,
I have a problem with my app.exe build.
I attach a simple code; the Vi open and close a TDM file.
If I run this Vi in Labview works fine.
If I build the application.exe on a notebook and I run it I got "Application crash with error ntdll.dll 00018fea".
I've tried to build the Vi on another Pc Desktop with Labview and here if I run the exe it works fine.
On the two PC I have LV8.5; the build options are the same.
On the notebook I've try also to reinstall LV8.5 but I got the same error.
    Can you help me?
    Thanks a lot

Never ever do that! You were very lucky that both ntdll.dll files were probably the same version so the exchange didn't do much but ntdll.dll is one of the core Windows DLLs were everything goes through that normal applications may access in Windows. A mixup in such a part because of incompatitible ntdll.dll with other system API DLLs might prevent your computer entirely from starting up even in safe mode.
You should not attempt to ever switch system DLLs between different computers. In such behaviour lays insanity. If you expect a system DLL to be corrupt attempt to do a repair installation instead. Also Windows nowadays has techniques to detect if a system DLL got corrupt and will attempt to repair it, though I guess if ntdll.dll would go belly up it's likely your computer won't even start up.

Adobe Encoder crash with a r6025 pure virtual function call when I export most of my sequences (mostly multicam sequences) to it when Aero is enabled. Everything was working fine before the 7.1 update.

  • Safari Crashes with latest update - Mac OS X 10.4.11

I've been having a similar problem as many users appear to be having from this latest update. However, none of the solutions that I have found have worked thus far in my situation.
All the users login to the server (also 10.4.11) via LDAP, with home directories mounted from that server.
Neither the local administrator account and another local test account have issues with launching Safari on each of the clients. However, all the LDAP accounts have issues where Safari crashes upon startup.
Also, when logged onto my personal account directly on the server, it does not have an issue launching Safari, but when I go to a client, Safari still crashes.
I have gone through the permissions repair on the clients and the server (though it will not let me perform a permissions repair on any partition other than the OS partition ... the user home directories are on a separate partition).
    Any ideas?

    HI,
all the LDAP accounts have issues where Safari crashes upon startup.
Possibly third party Safari add-ons that aren't compatible with Safari 5. Safari: Add-ons may cause Safari to unexpectedly quit or have performance issues
Also could be corrupted Safari preferences. Go to the Safari Menu Bar, click Safari/Preferences. Make note of all the preferences under each tab. Quit Safari. Now go to ~/Library/Preferences and move this file com.apple.safari.plist to the Desktop.
Relaunch Safari and see if that makes a difference. If not, move the .plist file back to the Preferences folder. If Safari functions as it should, move that .plist file to the Trash.

  • Applications crashing after latest update

    Hello all.

  • Application crashes with Android 2.3.3 update

    Hi All,
My development phone(Google-Nexus One) recently received the Android 2.3.3 update and although native applications run faster my Air application is failing basic test cases.
Simply scrolling a list with TileLayout and MobileIconItemRenderer causes the application to crash. Error dialog reports the the application process has stopped responding and only option is to force close. Scrolling is very cluncky and not usable on 2.3.3(disregarding the crashing), testing the same build on Android 2.2 is fine.
Has anyone else seen performance/stability issues with Android 2.3.3 update?
    Any help is much appreciated,
    Cheers,
    Greg

As I said, I installed a new version of Android in my smartphone, which forced me to reinstall all the applications (including the Adobe AIR), so it's the version 2.7.1.1961.
I checked other applications that depend on Adobe AIR and see that is a common problem with Adobe AIR applications and several people complain about.

  • Santa Rosa MBP Application Crashes with EXC_BAD_ACCESS (0x0001)

I am having Application crashing problems with my brand new Santa Rosa MBP that arrived today. This machine is a 2.4 GHz 17" MBP with Hi-Res Glossy display and it came with 2 GB of RAM. I upgraded it to 4 GB but this problem occurs with the original chips or the new 2 x 2 GB chips.
So far the applications that crash are Pages, Keynote, Aperture, Parallels Desktop, and iWeb. Other things I have tried are all right for now. Excerpts from the CrashReporter log of Aperture are below. All applications are crashing with an identical EXCBADACCESS (0x0001) and KERNPROTECTIONFAILURE (0x0002) at ... (this number differs for individual applications). Any ideas?

I am also having this problem with Adobe Bridge CS3, and QuickTime but only if I try to open a video file. It seems to be a problem when I access anything that wants to deal with the video hardware in the machine. I am planning on calling Apple tomorrow but any help would be appreciated.

  • All Adobe apps crash when closed.

Whether it's Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, After Effects... all of them. They crash as soon as I close them. Sometimes they're open for a long time, sometimes just a short while. Whenever I'm done working and close the program, it crashes. This started sometime recently but I can't really remember exactly when. It wasn't much of a nuisance because the crash didn't really affect me, I was afterall, shutting it down.
I'm on a 2009 Mac Pro with 8 cores and 16gig of ram. I'm using Snow Leopard and the CS4 Master Collection.
Is this happening to anyone else?

I get crashes in Dreamweaver CS3 when doing Fast User Switching. I don't think Adobe's going to fix that.
One issue with crashing on exit (of any application, not just Adobe) may be due to corrupt preferences. Try trashing the offending Adobe application(s) Preferences file (plist), which should be in your /user/library. Also, if you are trying to chase down a crash issue, see if it crashes in all users the same way and at the same time. On my Mac, I have a "Repair" user that is a full Administrator. "Repair" is often used to troubleshoot application crashes to determine if there are .plist files that are corrupt as well as to determine if the crash seems to happen for the same reason (sometimes it's a corrupt graphics file and not the application itself).
There are essentially two"library" folders that affect each application on your Mac. One is in the Root level of your hard drive and the other is in your /user space. clearing out corrupt preferences files from your user space usually stops this kind of a crash. But if the crash happens at the same time and for the same reason for all users, it may be useful to trash your .plist files for these applications on the root level. You have to be an Administrator user to do that. These preferences files will regenerate as soon as the application in question is restarted.
I hope this enables a few of you to get out from under crashes in Apple's OS X.

  • All CS2 apps crash with "Read Only Memory Exception" error.

    Machine Specs.
    Apple G5 1.8ghz DP
    OS X 10.4.10
It doesn't matter which one I open, they all crash with the same error. This started when a user placed a support ticket for their mac not starting up. I wasn't able to save the user so I created a new user, and then moved their desktop files over to the new user. However the only files I moved were those on the desktop, and their Notes data directory.
Thinking my job done I marked the tickets closed and walked away.
I got a call later when the user came into the office and the issue was that Indesign CS2 was crashing with a "Read Only Memory Exception" error. I first deleted the Preferences on the machine. That didn't work.
So I created a new user to see if it was the user causing the errors. I received the same error when opening Indesign CS2 from the brand new user account. I also tested all other CS2 programs and got the same errors.
Next I tried deleting the CS2 programs and re-installing them. No luck, same error, even with a new user. I have not re-installed any plug-ins with the new App installs yet.
Removed all fonts, and ran a font cache cleaner. Same error.
Finally, the last thing I've tried is to manually remove every adobe application on the machine. Acrobat 5/6/7, CS1, CS2...etc. I have also removed any Adobe files/folders in the //library/, and /$home/Library/.
Yet I still get the same error. Short of a complete wipe I'm not sure where to proceed next. I'm really confused and hoping someone can give me some clues.

Thanks to a comcast permissions error any new files I upload to my comcast.net pages requires the administrator username/password to even see the file to download it. Simply giving out the URL for new files results in page not found errors.
So for the forseeable future I don't see any way to upload this file correctly. Its there on my webspace all 63megs of it. If I login through the FTP account I can upload and download to my hearts content but since anonymous access is disabled I'm not giving out my administrator login info.
I've got a gig of space, using 22mb of it, and can't upload any more files because no-one has permissions to access them.
I spent a half hour on the phone with comcast trying to figure this out. However I don't know whats going on with their end. I have a trouble ticket open for a level 3 tech, we'll see whats going on.
So the Font Scrubber will remain unavailable for the time being unless someone wants to give me guest upload access to a FTP account. I'm not opening a fileshare account with anyone, don't like'm.

  • Yoga 13: Adobe Flash crashing with Transitions?

Whenever I have Firefox open and flip from laptop to tent or tablet mode, Adobe Flash crashes.  This is a major annoyance because really the only time I go from laptop to tent or tablet mode is when I am watching a video within Firefox.  I've searched Google but haven't found anything... I have the latest version of Flash (11.6.602.180) and the latest version of Transitions I've found on this horrible Lenovo site.
Has anyone else experienced the same problem, and have you found a fix?  Thanks in advance!

I, too am having this issue - however instead of crashing, my PC usually slows down.  For anyone at Lenovo that cares to actually test this issue - just open up any web browser and watch a YouTube  video.  Play the video in laptop mode.  Then when you're done, switch to tablet mode and play it again.  That same video will either become choppy or crash.  Likewise, when I try to use a program to play DRM videos (Vudu) or play flash-enabled games I have the same issue.  I have tried to look at task manager and do a comparison of programs running before and after transition to tablet mode, and all I can see is a .1% spike in memory usage by Lenovo Transition.
I think this is a more recent problem as I don't remember this being an issue from the start, but I can't identify how recent.  I used to play a game called SoulCraft from the Windows 8 store back in January.  This game is most easily played in tablet mode, and it played perfectly.  It quickly got old and I stopped playing after about a week.  I came back to it about 4 weeks ago but it was choppy in tablet mode.  When in laptop mode it plays fine.  So I reckon that this issue came with a software update that occurred sometime between late Jan and early Apr.  That's just my speculation, though.  I have also installed/uninstalled programs which may be messing with the transition software.
