All Adobe apps print slowly after 10.3.9 upgrade

I have a HP Deskjet 9800 printer and have been quite happy with it for months. However, after upgrading to OS 10.3.9, all of my Adobe applications (In-Design, Acrobat, Illustrator & PhotoShop) print VERY slowly, even when set to the "fast draft" option. Strangely, MS Word & Excel are unaffected. Too bad I rarely use those programs. I had hoped to print brochures and posters as needed for my work, so this problem is really cramping my style. I am connected to the printer by USB. I know there are some similar questions out there, but have not found many helpful answers. Hope you can help!

I assume that you repaired permissions after the update.
Sometimes re-applying the update will clear up issues. Try the combo updater.

Sometimes it helps to reinstall the applications that are having the problem.
I have 10.3.9 and Creative Suite and have no printing issues so I don't think it is a compatability issue.
The other consideration is a font issue. How are you managing the fonts on your system?

Apps wont transfer after ios5.1.1 upgrade

apps wont transfer after ios5.1.1 upgrade. This upgrade has me pulling out my hair. the device is running very slow and apps wont transfer back into the ipad from my library. anyone else having this issue? what do i do about it? is it possible to roll back the OS? Thanks for any help with this matter. And a curse on whoever came up with this so called upgrade!!

If you are using the original iPad it is possible that this upgrade could slow down the iPad since that model just doesn't have the processor power er and speed of the iPad2 and the new iPad. Unfortunately, you cannot downgrade the iOS - officially.
Have you tried rebooting the iPad? Quitting all apps and restarting?
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
Quit the app completely and restart the iPad. Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the task bar will appear with all of your recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar. Restart the iPad.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Make sure that you are signed into the correct account in - Settings>Store>Apple ID for the apps that will not sync. And are you sure that the apps are selected to sync in your iTunes sync preferences?

The first thing to do: Make a backup of your iPhoto Library. Don't update iPhoto without having a backup of your iPhoto library.
When I tried I received the following message This update is not available for this Apple ID either because it was bought by a different user or the item was refunded or cancelled.
This error message means, that you did not yet associate your copy of iPhoto (preinstalled on your Mac) with your AppleID by clicking the "accept" button at AppStore "Purchased" page.
First try to "Accept" iPhoto on the Purchased tab and try, if you then can update iphoto from the Updates tab.
Now check the "Purchased" tab. Is iPhoto among your Purchases to "Accept" or "Install"? Then accept and/or install.
If it is not possible, delete iPhoto from the Applications folder .
(don't empty the Trash).
If it is not among your Purchases, open the AppStore main tab, search for iPhoto using the Search field, and buy it from the AppStore. If you already owned any version of iPhoto '11, this purchase should be free, from earlier versions it may be a paid upgrade.

I can delete the existing software and re-install but I don't want to lose all my photos.
Your photos are in your iPhoto Library in your Pictures folder and not in the iPhoto application. Just back up the iPhoto Library as a precaution, but reinstalling iPhoto will not delete your iPhoto Library.

All adobe app crash after launch!

Hi I just installed all the apps and photoshop, dreamweaver, fireworks crashes after launch. I tried this several times http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/cc-applications-crash-immediately-launch.html and still got the same problem.
I have been reading about this bug in this forum but I can't try to find any solution to my problem.
How do I solve this?

HP Officejet Pro 8500 all-in-one printer - issues after upgrading to Windows 8.1

After successfully downloading a driver from the HP website to enable using this all-in-one printer with a new HP laptop using a Windows 8.1 OS, I confirmed that the printing function works normally (just as it did with a Windows XP OS on my wireless home network).
However, I don't find any icons appearing on the 8.1 desktop for other HP apps (e.g. HP Solution Center, HP Photo Creations). I do have an icon for the Printer. When opened, it shows two options: 1) add a new printer and 2) add new software (from the original CD). But the original CD is for the XP OS, which I don't try and possibly mess up what already is working.
So-o-o, Is there any HP software download available for HP apps to use with this printer, especially HP Solutions Center?

Combining common aspects of all Adobe Apps and their core functions

I use Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Fireworks, Dreamweaver and Lightroom daily. So do most of you.
I've noticed that aside from the bizarre UI differences between say InDesign and Photoshop, there are other changes that make little sense - and I'd like to know why, and hear how you think we could change this.
Companies today are under the assumption that if they throw more fluffy features at us, we'll not notice the underlying core functionalities are suffering from lack of attention.
For instance - sure, geotaging in lightroom is useful - if you have a GPS attachment for your camera (or if it's built in) so having that as an option is nice, but having it load all the time and run "in the background" while I'm using lightroom doesn't work for "me". Facial recognition, it's coming eventually, but really, when would the pro photographer "daily" use this feature to search 20k + images? We already tag our things, and it's far faster to search a text string than it is to scan pixels.
So awesome fun feature, I'm sure the kids will love it, so include it sure, but don't have it eat up my resources. Let me turn it off.
So here's the point.
Adobe has created, and is still creating, a macrocosm of software that is supposed to interlink, allowing us to be productive from photo/drawing to publishing, and connect and share and so on, but the core features of our software do not do all of these things well - they only do them adequately.
We have Photoshop.com / Creative Cloud / Revel and other storage areas for our stuff - and none really link and all over lap, and all need another's feature, or improvement.
Why not merge them and have one awesome experience. But too, the "kids" already have tumblr, and instagram and facebook and drop box and on and on.
Why why have so many Adobe forums (on different sites) - why not merge them?
None of Adobe's offerings are "revolutionary" - just more clutter and more of the same, and more logins and profiles and links.

Adobe for Linux would be so very awesome - but oh wait, they already have it for Macs - that's unix - isn't that the "same"? So where is it then? Collusion with apple?
Why did it take so long to have 64bit apps, why are some apps still not 64bit? Why are some both?! - and that I'd have to install them both?! o_0
Open and Save dialogues in the UI's don't match between programs - XP styles vs Win7 styles. Some programs are "new" others "old" - huh?
Dictionary's don't match. Why not have one and load that between programs?
UI scaling doesn't match - different icon sizing, and font sizing (no we aren't talking retina support - just basic enlargement).
Tool layouts/options don't match. Fireworks / Illustrator. You bought Macromedia almost a Decade ago, may want to upate that?
Why are "quick" icons removed from the UI (like arrange all) and stuffed into a menu structure, but available in other programs?
Processor and Ram and GPU user settings/options don't match. - and yes I know it's application specific, but really? Illustrator couldn't use allocation options?
Limitations on artboard sizes that corel for instance doesn't have (Illustrator bogs down - with a lot of effects - at 100" and can't go larger than 220"? really?)
     isn't illustrator basically math based? Corel doesn't have this issue?
Limitations on printing/layout and other options that Corel doesn't have (man they have an awesome print layout preview screenthat indesign and illustrator could use).
Scalable anchor points based on zoom level. Those things are frightfully small.
Options to actually disable (not simply hide) add-on features/modules/tools not being used. *cough* lightroom.
Network access capabilities for some programs (lightroom cannot read it's database over a network)
The Adobe Application Manager - a simple "verify and download" tool is embarrassingly lacking in options pertaining just to its function.
Why is Lightroom such a bother to install through AAM/Creative Cloud Subscription?
Why do the installers take hours and hours to complete? Since Vista, I can install a full computer and its updates by the time I'm done getting Creative Suite Master installed and updated.
I'd like to hear about more common sense "core functions" that should be addressed - so Adobe can have a simple list - in one place that "highlights" where they are really dropping the ball.
Searching Adobe forums is fun - and you can search all of the above and find long threads on all of them - years old and un-addressed. Maybe because they are spread out?
Adobe seems to be resting on its laurels of decades of being the defacto design suite, and it's been apparent for years that the core software is late to release, buggy, bloated, and although more appealing to the eye, and now with fancy schmancy cloud features, our core operations are just overwhelmed due to all the fluff.
We have too much "left hand doesn't give a sh*t about what the right hand is doing" and that needs to change.
So I'd like to see your lists of "when I use this feature in this program, I'd have expected it to be in this other program and it's not".
     or "Why doesn't this work like it used to?"
     or "this free program here has this awesome thing, why don't we have it here?"
I'm not talking about a list of glitches, I'm not talking about cloud dosiewhatsits and the fluffy crap.
We'll all assume you have the appropriate computer gear to run it adequately.

I'm taking about you having a think about the core reason you bought "this" Adobe Program.
Does your Adobe software do what was advertised correctly, "quickly" and well.
Can you move "seamlessly" between Adobe apps?
Then list those things that confuse you because it "should be there" (because in the last 3 releases it was and now it's gone) or "should work this way" and doesn't.
Maybe then Adobe could see that our list is a sign they need to get back to basics before they overwhelm what little functionality they have left.
I didn't buy Abode products to have cloud storage - I bought it to make money and be productive in a clean workflow.
I don't seem to have that anymore.

If you bought them as separate apps, the will be independent apps. There is a natural connection between the apps. Acrobat has a preference for the touchup tools for raster and vector graphics.
I guess if you never set the Image and Object Editor, these could be blank, but personally, it is nice to be able to edit images and objects on the rare times you do not have access to the original files used to create a pdf file. Any modern Illy file can usually be opened by Acrobat. I don't have Photoshop Elements, but they may be able to rasterize pdfs. I would not worry about the connections between the apps. Most of the time, they work completely independently of the other parts and only react with each other when ou want them to.

Adobe PDF Printer disappearing after 9.4.2 update

A few hours ago I updated Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro to 9.4.2, supposedly coming from 9.4.1.
Since then the Adobe PDF Printer is no longer available among my printer options. That is for all applications: Adobe Acrobat, InDesign, Preview or ArchiCAD 14.
It seems there's a similar issue with the 9.4.2 Windows upgrade (see Acrobat Windows forums). What now? Deinstall Acrobat? Or how do I revert to a older version?!

This is a whole lot of pain unfortunately. I am sitting here lamenting why oh why did I upgrade?? But then it can only improve right? Whats the harm? Surely this will make things better? After all, it didn't really point out that the Acrobat Printer would no longer be available. I will never again do an upgrade on Acrobat as it has done this to me before previously and it was a pain to sort out!
Graphics users need the Adobe Acrobat PS Printer as without this we are not able to set document parametres for print iro commercial printing. Crop marks, page size, reg marks etc. Which can only be accessed via the software once the Acrobat PS Printer output option has been selected.
Simply selecting create Postscript file or PDF.... has none of those attributes and is probably less useful than a chocolate teapot. certainly not a "Pro" - "Professional" option, but rather meant for the masses who have basic Acrobat requirements.
I don't really care to get into the realms as to who did what and whether it was Apples security option or Adobe's upgarde. This outcome is going to upset a lot of graphics users who have paid good money for this package as it was originally intended (for the professional with professional requirements ie PS options) and I for one am annoyed at software companies changing the rules as time goes on. Its the consumer that keeps being inconvenienced all the time.
If memory recalls, we have to totally uninstall and reload. But theres a catch there somewhere if I remember correctly as the uninstaller does not recognize certain files and if you apply the reinstall using the older version of Acrobat, residual files from the newer version create issues. Something like that. Not sure that makes sense to me either. But I remember theres a curve ball there somewhere...
Going to be a long night!

Windows 8.1 Adobe CS6 Adobe PDF printer broken after sysprep

Windows 8.1 enterprise 64 bit with CU1 installed. Ran sysprep priror to install. Installed Adobe Design and Web Premium CS6 & Premiere Pro CS6. The Adobe PDF printer is working with UAC enabled threw all PC accounts. Ran sysprep (standard generalize, skip rearm, & skip all win 8.1 questions) with UAC disabled since bat files will not run with UAC enabled. After UAC is enabled you can't print using the Adobe PDF printer unless running from Administrator account or by disabling UAC. We also have Adobe CC except the instructor is currently teaching CS6 suites. I tested acrobat 10.0.0 & 10.11.1 same problem after sysprep.

Have you tried running Process Monitor to see where the permissions problems are occurring?

All Adobe apps crashing.

I've been having speed problems with the new iMac (support just ran out today, of course!)
So I ran some Onyx processes; crons, verify, rebuilding, cleaning caches and other defaults options.
That did make the computer runs faster.
But now none of my Adobe products work. (ouch!)
They all crash on launch, Photoshop, Illustrator, and the others. I must have access to these programs.
I tried to use TimeMachine from the App, but it's been pretty much useless to me so far. No help this time either.
I reinstalled the Adobe Suite. No luck.
I'm about ready to try Command-R options. If that doesn't work, I'm
seriously considering wiping this machine and reinstalling Snow Leapard.
First I thought I try this forum and find out if someone has suggestions about
how to fix this problem so Photoshop launches.

Coda: I wasted a day trying less extreme fixes, but eventually used Command-R (on restart) to reinstall Lion, then reinstalled the crashing Adobe Apps. Since my high-speed WIFI isn't, it took some hours of waiting, but Photoshop and other Apps are working again, and my computer runs faster too.
A missing Java update may have cause the Adobe issue. Lion probably needed to be reinstalled to fix some bug associated with loading many old, backed-up files into a new OS.
I'm still working on some other new, and unexpected behaviors in Lion, but those are only annoyances that I can probably address in preferences.

It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer.

All my apps are missing after syncing???

After trying to update all my apps, I had my husband sync my Iphone to my ibook. Everything went fine, when I disconnected my Iphone, I found that all the apps I had purchased (or that were free) were missing from my phone. My husband and I played a bit with it and re-syncing it, we found that my apps are not stored on my laptop either (unless they are hidden somewhere.) However, I found under the App icon a list of all my husband's iphone apps waiting to be installed on my iphone.
My questions: what happened to my apps? Will I have to reinstall all of my apps and then repay for them? How did my Iphone get his apps waiting to be installed on my iphone? (he has his own ibook computer that he syncs his own phone to). Are all my apps somewhere on my computer/iphone, but just hidden? And if so, how do I get to them?

I started off not being able to highlight or tap on a number and call it. Then all my apps became unresponsive after I opened them. I could close them and I tried turning off my phone but it's been "turning off" for over an hour and a half. What do I do?

I tried to take a number and make it into a contact from a text message and it wouldn't open. So I tried to open facebook later, and I found that all my apps were unresponsive once they opend. So I turned it off but the circle thing has been going for an hour and a half now and won't completely turn off. Hi. I checked on the order and it says the order is currently being processed and I should check back tomorrow. I'm mostly just concerned because I got an email saying the order was on hold, and I want to make sure it actually does go through and I'm not just waiting for a delivery that's not going to come. I'm still confused as to why I'd get an email saying I had to call the fraud department only to be told I shouldn't have called the fraud department.

Adobe PDF Printer missing after update

Yesterday I updated my Adobe Acrobat 9 software to version 9.5.3 but now my Adobe PDF printer has disappeared. I am running Windows 7 Professional 32 bits. I have many documents to convert into PDFs but now I am unable to since the update installed. Please help?

Try repairing Acrobat installation - Open control panel, select Acrobat and chose the option to repair.

This morning I updated my iPhone 4 from iOS 4 to iOS 5. It appeared to skip the syncing part of the update and now I've lost all my apps and music. They're still on my iTunes but my iPhone won't sync - it shows steps 2 and 3, and thn just stops. Help?
