All applications that came with 7710!!

...have gone! i used the voucher to use world mate for good, and every single app including lemonade tycoon and casino have gone. when i download a new world mate and install it, it says its done successfully but it doesnt show up on the desk top! whats going on???

Were they supported under Snow Leopard OS before I upgraded to Lion?
Yes, using something called Rosetta.
Why "NO LONGER" SUPPORTED?
OS X 10.7 does not support Power PC applications.  I do not speak for Apple, but it appears they determined that since most applications are written Universal Binary, there was no reason to incur the expense of maintenance in the new OS X.
Many manufacturers have provided updates for older equipment (some have not).  I suggest you either run software update andor check with Epson.

I have mistakingly deleted the natve Tasks Application that came with my BB Curve and now need to reinstall it.
How do i go about doing that?  Your assistance will be appreciated as i cannot live with out.

You didn't state what model curve you have (8300, 8310, 8320, 8350, 8520?), but download from your carrier same OS that is on your device now (Look at Options > About, third line down beginning with a "v.4.xxx") and install that OS to your PC.
Then, run Desktop Manager > Application Loader, and check the box for the Task app.

  • Not possible to start applications that came with X-FI Plati

    Hi all,
I have a problem with all the Creative software that came with my new X-FI Platinum (that i bought today). Whenever i start an application (like audio console or THX console) i get an error message that no compatible audio devices are found on my system. I've installed my X-FI with the CD that came with the product, and also tried to update my Audio card to the latest available drivers.. i even tried th new X-Fi drivers from Windows update
Before this card a used an Audigy 2 SZ (which worked perfect btw, but i want to move to Vista soon so that why i bought the X-FI), which i de-installed properly and removed all software before installing the X-Fi.
Could it be that there are leftovers somewhere that conflict with the X-Fi Creative software suite?.
I hope someone can help me out.
To summ up what system i have:
    Intel Core 2 duo @ 2.4ghz (E6600)
    Asus P5W DH deluxe MB/ Bios 707
    2048Mb Mem
    nvidia 8800GTS
    Aegea PhysX card
    WinXp sp2
    Directx 9c (june 2007)
    Thanks, Ramses

Ok.. apparently the driver which i downloaded from Creative was somehow not compatible with the applications.. i removed all apps and driver and sweeped my system with driver cleaner.. also de-installed the F-XI from hardware manager.. reinstalled all apps + driver from the installation CD and now it works.. Creative apparently uploaded a driver to my region (europe/netherlands)which is not suitable for the X-FI platinum.

  • Applications that came with Epson printer on Win XP respond "Can't open... PowerPC apps no longer supported.  Were they in Snow Leopard before I upgraded?

Epson pinter came with photo apps that ran under Windows XP. Loaded onto iMac 27", they don't respond with "Not compatable with Mac" but rather with "You can't open the application ..... whichever one ..... because PowerPC applications are no longer supported".  Were they supported under Snow Leopard OS before I upgraded to Lion?  Why "NO LONGER" SUPPORTED?

  • There is an error when I want to reinstall the applications that came with my mac (after having reinstalled the Mac OS X DVD). What can I do?

I erased my hard disk and then installed the Mac OS X DVD. After having done this I wanted to install the applications too, for which I introduced the Applications DVD. The DVD is recognized and I follow the instructions given. On the last step, the installation, the Installer shows me a Message. It says that there is an error, and that I should contact the Software developer. It is very weird, because there is no error number or any other explanation. If somebody could help, I would be enormously thankful.

If you have a backup (and I hope you did one as before any potentially dangerous task), you can restore it.
If you don't, but have a recent system, you may try to boot in recovery mode.
If you can't, you have to get another computer (or simply your Windows Mac) to "burn" your system image either on a DVD or a flashdisk (.dmg are just .iso so you can change suffix).
Anyway, each and every data you had on you HDD, including 3rd party apps, would be lost.

Your profile says you have 10.6, so why bother with the original 10.5 OS?
But to your question, before you erase anything, make a backup of your data for safe keeping and restoration. Having an external hard drive for this purpose is most useful.

  • Do I really need to keep all the preloaded apps that came with my MacbookPro 13'' mid 2010

Do I really need to keep all the preloaded apps that came with my MacbookPro 13'' mid 2010? Which one are necessary to keep from your experience. Thanks

Lots of apps are preloaded on a new MBP. Tell us which ones you don't think you need, and we'll tell you whether you can safely get rid of them.
However,  the total space used on your hard drive by all the apps that are preinstalled is very small, and if there's any chance at all that you may eventually want to use them, you might as well keep them handy.
By way of example, my own Applications folder contains everything that came from the factory preinstalled in it, plus 2.5 years of subsequent additions totalling 196 applications of all kinds and sizes. Still, it only occupies 12.5GB of my 500GB hard drive.

ical (the calendar program) that came with this apple mac pc suddenly stopped working. When I pulled the icon from the desktop, it then disappeared from the computer.I have been using it from the desktop for the past two years, without trouble. It has uninstalled itself, without my intervention and has eradicated all traces of it, including all my entries from the computer memory. There is no program in the applications list. Can you say why this may have happened please?

I opened one of the .calendar folders. There was a folder named Events which had either one or some files ending .ics. I opened several of these, which put up a dialogue window showing some parameters with data strings attached as follows :-

  • HT1695 I know nothing about how to use my new ipod and when reading the little bit of information in the folder that came with it, all I can do is turn it on, but it just powers down after a few seconds.  How do I work this thing?

I know nothing about how to use my new ipod and when reading the little information that came with it, all I can do is turn it on.  Then in a few seconds it goes black, never having brought up a screen to do anything!  Help!  What do I do to get this thing going?

You might consider connecting it to the charger and charging up the battery overnight.

    Well
I tried all of the suggestions, sort of. I did not have alcohol wipes, but I did take alcohol and pour some ona white paper towel and then rolled the mouse touch ball aroound and that finally cleared up the problem.  Just inverting it on paper did not do the reick, it needed some help with the alcohol.  Of course the probelm is the debris that gets inside and it really needs to come out.
This is a huge problem for RIM devices users too.

    - Try another cable. Some 5G iPods were shipped with Lightning cable that were either initially defective or failed after short use.
    - Try another charging source
    - Inspect the dock connector on the iPod for bent or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.
    - Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. The cable as well as the iPod, is covered by the warranty.

  • I do have a gray application DVD that came with my MacBook Pro by how to use it

I do have a gray application DVD that came with my MacBook Pro by how to use it.

You don't, your signature says you have 10.7.5 and the disk is either 10.5 or 10.6, has outdated software on it.
Keep it in case of emergency in a very safe place in case you need to reinstall on a new drive, then upgrade to 10.7.5 again.

lost my application dvd that came with macbook pro, early 2011. any alternatives to get the applications in that??

I'm not sure how this is an iTunes issue, but anyway, other than buying the apps from the Mac App Store (note that iDVD and iWeb are not available via the App Store), the only alternative is to call Apple support and give them the serial number of your Mac. They can usually sell you a new disk set for a reasonable fee.

  • Hi, I have an iphone4 and all of a sudden none of the apps (except the ones that came with the phone) will open. The screen goes black then it goes back to the homescreen. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

    Hi,
I have an iphone 4 and all of a sudden none of the apps will work, except the ones that came with the phone. When I open them the screen goes black then it goes back to the homescreen.
Also when I plug the phone into itunes it only gives me the option to either restore or eject the phone. Up until today I never had any problems, I sync it regularly and all the software (inc itunes) is up to date. The last time I backed it up was about a month ago when I got the phone, (a replacement as my other iphone4 had loads of problems) so I don't want to have to restore it and lose everything off it!
    Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

Sounds like the device was dropped at some point and damaged as a result.
Take it to Apple for evaluation and a replacement.

  • Suddenly the apps I downloaded won't work. The screen "blinks" for a second as if the app is loading, and then returns to the home screen. All the apps that came with the iPod seem to be working fine. How to get them all working again?

First try a hard reset.  To do this, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear.
If still no luck, try downloading another free app from the App Store.

Lastly, try to restore the iPod from a previous backup or restoring it to factory settings.
