All Apps from App Store stuck on Waiting!!!

When I try to purchase an app or try to download a free one. It goes to the dock and sits there and says "Waiting".
I tried a clean install of Snow Leopard, downloaded the 10.6.7 combo, deleted caches, I've called apple support 3 times, no luck.
What seemed to work is when I created a new AppleID, the apps are able to download.
Am I able to transfer the purchases from the old AppleID to the new AppleID?

Hi,

  • Mac App Store stuck on "Waiting to install"?

Whenever I try to update or install a new app from the App store, it downloads fine but then gets stuck at the "Waiting to install" stage. I have tried rebooting my system, quitting and reopening the App Store, quitting the App store and killing the storeagent process via Activity Monitor and then restarting the App store...nothing has worked. I've included an image of what the issue looks like, this is the Purchased section of the App Store. The screenshot was taken after it had been sitting at that point for over an hour. Any suggestions?

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
    View ▹ Show Log List
    from the menu bar.
Click the Clear Display icon in the toolbar. Then try the action that you're having trouble with again. Select any messages that appear in the Console window. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message (command-V).
When posting a log extract, be selective. In most cases, a few dozen lines are more than enough.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Important: Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.

  • App Store stuck with "Waiting..." after Mountain Lion download.

The status of the install seemed to be stuck at "7 minutes remaining", so I closed the App store and re-openeded it. The status changed to "Waiting..." and I am not sure if anything is happening. Has this happened to anyone? If so, did it resolve itself or did you have to do something to push it forward?
This is the second computer I've upgraded to Mountain Lion today from the same Internet connection. I appears that the download completed, and it began installing the OS. How long should this take?

So, the download was finished like I thought. I went to the Applications directory and saw the "Mountain Lion Installer" app. I clicked on it and it installed immediately with no issues.

  • App Store stuck in "waiting"

My Macbook Air came out of the box yesterday. It's last year's model, so I'm (attempting) to bring it all up to date before I start adding everything to it.  Currently I'm running OS X 10.8.5, in part because I'm trying to download Mavericks but that's not the only program giving me trouble.
The app store is currently stuck looking like this:
There is no button for me to press to unpause it. It's just stuck "waiting."
    I have tried:
    - ensuring that I was logged into my account.
    - re-downloading it.
    - quitting the app store the usual way.
    - restarting.
    - quitting the app store using activity monitor
    - ensuring that my virus scanner is off
    - there should not be anything stuck downloading in iTunes because I haven't even opened iTunes yet.
    Any other ideas?

    A friend directed me here
    And it worked.

  • App Store stuck on "waiting" for OS X upgrade 10.8.4. and won`t allow shutdown.

App Store is stuck on "waiting" for OS X upgrade 10.8.4. I succesfully downloaded the package from apple.com and ran it but App Store won`t allow shutdown which is required for the upgrade to take place. What am I to do?

For the App Store, do a Force Quit, go to the apple left side of the menu bar and choose force quit.  That should free the machine to then restart.

  • App will not download to iPad when purchased from App Store - stuck with Cloud icon

Device : iPad Air 32gb wi-fi model (not cellular data)
OS version : 7.1.1 (up to date)
    Location : UK
Problem : App will not download to iPad when purchased from App Store - stuck with Cloud icon
Last night I tried to download an app over wi-fi onto my iPad Air, but the app did not install.
I have plenty of space (the app is 24.1mb, I have 3.4gb free space) and there are no restrictions whatsoever on my iPad - no blocks on App store purchases, no age-related restrictions, no country restrictions etc.
Normally from the App Store page you would tap the price (in this case the app was free), enter your iTunes password, and the app would download.
Also a new icon appears on the home screen and a circle shows the progress of the download.
    However this did not happen.
Instead I have the Cloud icon (the one that shows when you have bought an app but it is not currently installed on your device) and a message that says "You've already purchased this, so it will be downloaded now at no additional cost".
If I press OK I am then prompted to enter my iTunes password, the Cloud symbol briefly changes to a circle (and I mean for a split-second, like the blink of an eye) and then the Cloud symbol appears again.
The app does not download - in fact it does not even *attempt* to download.
I have tried this >20 times now and it always occurs excatly like this.
After Googling this problem (which seems common) and reading over a dozen threads on this forum plus Apple's own official support pages, this is what I've tried:
I can re-download other apps that I have previously purchased on this iPad, with no problems.
I purchased another app on my iPhone 5 and was then able to download onto my iPad with no problems.
I have reset my iPad >5 times - both by pressing/holding the home/power buttons, and also a full switch off and restart.
I have logged out of my iTunes account on the iPad, and logged back in.
The wi-fi is Virgin Media fibre optic broadband with a verified speed of 20 meg (confirmed by Speedtest) plus an 802.11-n Belkin router and my iPad will happily load web pages, stream videos on YouTube, download other apps etc.
I have reset/rebooted my internet connection
In an attempt to eliminate by broadband connection from the possible causes, I have switched off my router, linked my iPad to the hotspot feature on my iPhone and tried to download the app over cellular data, but still cannot download the app.
I have tried on 2 other wi-fi networks but still cannot download this one app.
My iTunes account has a cerdit balance from an iTunes card, but the app was free anyway
Nothing I try will download the app in question.
The app is iPad only, so I cannot install on my iPhone to try and kick-start the process.
I guess I could install the app on my computer and then sync the iPad, but that's *working around* the problem - it's not *fixing* the problem.
(Since getting the iPad I use almost never use my computer. And anyway what if I did not have a computer? Didn't iOS go "PC-free" with version 5?)
I would like to call Apple but my 90-day telephone support has expired (the iPad is around 6 months old) and I don't want to buy Apple Care for this one problem.
I can't make it to an Apple Store to speak to a Genius.
Bearing in mind the list of things I've already tried, what do I do next?
Thanks in advance for any support.

    Hi there.
Thank you very much for your quick reply, it's really appreciated.
No need to apologize, I actually found the phrase "If your iPad ever craps the bed" amusing under the circumstances
I checked the list of installed apps like you suggested (Settings>General>Usage>Storage>Show all apps) but this problem app is not in the list. I have also swiped down on the home screen to search for it, but again it does not show.
While it has not let me download the app (and I just tried it again) it has helped me to eliminate a few things from the list of what to try, and I can definitely conclude that it has not downloaded.
I guess I need to fire up my PC and download it / sync my iPad.
    Thanks again for your help

  • TS1702 most of my apps are stuck on 'waiting' have tried everything possible from trying to delete them and re-booting ipad, nothing seems to work...is there a solution to this problem which seems that quite a few users seem to have....

most of my apps are stuck on 'waiting' have tried everything possible from what I read however nothing seems to work for me, does anyone know the right way PLEASE as it's very annoying....

When I open emails with PDFs I click on the attachment (doing this all on my iPad) it gives me the option to "open in iBooks", I accept then after that the document is sucked into my iPad but I can't do anything with the PDF after that.  Where is the actual file on my iPad? Why can't I email or send these PDFs to my cloud (Dropbox)?
It's like once they go into iBooks they're stuck forever.

when I try to download Mavericks OS from the App store, it says "waiting". The download process doesnt actually start. How can i fix this?

    -  Temporarily disable anti virus software if installed.
    -  Apps such as Little Snitch, Net Nanny, and Hands Off can prevent apps from downloading including Mountain Lion.
How to re download apps from the Mac App Store:
Open the App Store. From the menu bar click Store > Sign In
Click Purchases from the top of the App Store window.
Select Mountain Lion. Then right or control click where you see Installed then click Install.
Make sure and use the same Apple ID used for the original purchase.

  • Why are my new app downloads stuck in waiting?

I know there are quite a few posts on this subject, unfortunately none seem to solve my problem.
    Problem:
When I download apps from the app store, they sit "waiting" for days.
-Happens regardless of one or 5 apps in the queue.
-Wifi is working, I'm not using 3G for this.
    -Tested on 3 wifi networks.
-Tested deleting all pending apps and reinstalling from app store.
-I'm not near my pc to try the syncing to itunes method and would be a bit disappointed if that was the only solution.
    -4xs tried to restart phone.
-Twice restarted (hold home button and power button 10+ secs till Apple logo appears).
    -tried to reset network settings.
None of these worked. Does anyone know what I should do or try?
My setup is iPhone 4s, iOS 5.0.1 and won't let me update any further so that must be as current as it gets. I got the phone about 2 weeks ago and have downloaded about 46 apps and deleted several. I noticed this problem while trying to download/ install Find My Friends.
In advance, you're awesome for helping, thank you thank you!

    Okay, I figured this out.
A podcast in iTunes was not downloading.
Apparently, ios5 will only download one thing at a time and so it sets up a queue that must include all and any downloads: apps, songs, podcast, all of it. So, a tip to anyone with this problem look through all apps that have a queue of downloading items and clear them till you can get your system running again.

  • App upgrades stuck on waiting

Has anyone found a way to unfreeze apps stuck on 'waiting' when trying to upgrade. All my upgrading apps are stuck on waiting. :(

    1. Check iTunes and see if you have a pending/stalled download e.g. Podcast, Books, Music, Movies or iTune U. Finish off the download and you should be able to update.
    2. Connect iTune; and Check for available download (under Store). When download is completed, sync to iPad.

  • All app store apps exit on startup with code 173

I've tried purchasing two app store apps and they both will not start. The system.log error is like:
    com.apple.launchd.peruser.501[119] ([0x0-0x20020].com.rovio.mac.AngryBirds[233]): Exited with exit code: 173
I've reinstalled the 10.6.6 combo update and still no luck. I have no problem signing in to the app store. Has anyone run into this?

Watching this with interest as I've hit the same problem, app icon just bounces as if launching, and only hint at error is in the console log, exited with error 173, which is fairly well documented as the DRM / Receipt exit code, basically the app thinks it's not a legitimate App Store install of the app, except it is.
In my case it seems that only paid for apps suffer (free ones are fine), having bought Angry Birds, CodeBox and MindNode Pro on my Macbook Pro (all work fine there), but on my work iMac (same account in App Store and itunes, no others have been used) all App Store apps install fine, but the paid for ones just give the error 173 error. In fact Mindnode Pro I bought on the iMac and it never ran even after first download, hop to Macbook and it saw the new purchase, installed and ran.
    From tips here, google, and lengthy conversations with Apple Care I have;
    - I tried removing and reinstalling the apps
    - Signed in and out of Appstore
    - Removed com.apple.appstore.plist from ~/Library/Preferences
    - Looked for (bit found no sign of) anything to do with the apps in /Library/Receipts and ~/Library/Receipts
    - Deauth'd and then Auth'd again the iMac in itunes
    - Created a new user login on the iMac
    - Repaired Permissions
    - Pretty sure I copied the App from Macbook to iMac too
    - Manually re-applied 10.6.6 combo update
Nothing worked. I have a case open at 2nd line and whilst he acknowledged this thread via google it's not flagging as an issue internally (because no one's logging cases about it! - so call!). I hve to re-run fix permissions from the install disk (didn't have to hand) and if that doesn't work they can escalate, but suspect that will be an archive and reinstall
I've posted here to bump the thread, and in hope that the other routes I tried might help someone else

On my IPad I cannot update or install any Apps. I've tried restarting and that did not help. The Apps are stuck, darkened and say Waiting.... Please help me figure this issue out.

If there are multiple apps trying to download at once, only one can download at a time and the rest say "Waiting" until it is then their turn. Try this. Double tap the icon of the Waiting app, and it should resume the download.

Another thing to try - Turn the iPad Off & then back ON.
    If that doesn't work:
    •  Log out of your iTunes store account.  Go to Settings > Store > Sign Out Then press the Home button.
    • Then press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously and don't release them when it brings up the Turn Off screen; keep holding them until the Apple logo appears.
    • After restart, the Waiting should be gone.

Yesterday, I was updating several apps in the app updates section in the app store icon. I requested update for Facebook and two other apps. Now those apps are stuck or frozen. Under the icon on the screen it says, "waiting." On the store app page screen, it says, "instaling." I cannot get into either of those apps. What do I need to do to unfreeze my facebook and the other app? Thanks, gracefromok
