All Appstore and Mac updates Fail saying "...could not be verified or may have become corrupt"
Recently my Mac started to become glitchy so I decided to wipe the hard drive and reinstall my OSX Mountain Lion. After doing so almost all of my updates fail showing this msg "...could not be verified or may have become corrupt". Not to mention downloading updates take ridiculously long. I have 80mbps down and small updates say they could take up to 2 days. I wanted to try upgrading to the the newest OS however that also has the error msg…not to mention a 4 days estimated download!
any help with this would be greatly appreciated!
and yes I did set my date and time to automatic.

Question typed in subject space. Sorry!
Hi there Amy,
You may want to take a look at the article titled "Troubleshooting Mac OS X installation and software updates (Mac OS X v10.6 and earlier)"
There is a specific section that includes this information:
Software Updates for Mac OS X and Apple applications for Mac OS X are often available in different ways:
Software Update preferences
Standalone installer from Apple Downloads.
Try getting the software from a different source, or download it again.
Hope that helps,

The software could not be varified.it may have been corrupted or tempered during downloading
i have already purchase mac os x lion .it was now saved in appstore on my mac.but i could not able to install it.
The file may have been corrupted when you downloaded it, go to Applications and find the installer for Lion. Trash it. Restart App Store, it should show up for Install. Re-download it. and try and re-install it.
Make sure you use the same apple ID account and pass word as before.

This question has been asked several times recently.
Do not bother with the issues of Premiere Elements 9.0 Help Menu/Update. Waste of energy. These updates involve only 9.0.1 and Camera Raw up to no more than 6.5. There is no more to be gotten after that.
The remedy is quick and easy.
Download and install the 9.0.1 Update from Adobe. You can do the download and install with Premiere Elements 9 closed.
If Windows
Adobe - Premiere Elements : For Windows : Premiere Elements 9.0.1 update
If Mac
http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4930
If you need Camera Raw 6.5 Windows (See instructions for manual install)
Adobe - Adobe Camera Raw and DNG Converter : For Windows : Camera Raw 6.5 update
If you need Camera Raw 6.5 Mac (See instructions for manual install)
Adobe - Photoshop Elements : For Macintosh : Camera Raw 6.5 update for Elements 9
Please let us know if that worked for you. Any questions or need clarification, please do not hesitate to ask.
Thank you.

when i would to update mac os10.7 to mac os combined10.7.4 the appear error the update couldn't be verified.it may have been corrupted during downloading....please guide me.
my type of laptop is MAC724
tnxThe first thing to attempt is restarting in Safe Mode, this will clear some caches. It's possible one or more has become corrupt. Once it has started navigate to 10.6.8 Update Combo and download and install per the directions. After it has installed if you still have difficulty re-starting, go to System Preferences - Startup Disk and make sure the internal HD is highlighted and click restart again and restart again in Safe Mode. Finally restart normally.
BTW I have asked the moderator to remove the serial number of your machine for your own security. Please DO NOT post private information such as email addresses, serial numbers etc.. to a public forum. -

When clicking 'buy' for Mountain Lion in the App store I get the message "product distribution file could not be verified, it may be damaged or was not signed' Anybody know why I get this message. Thanks
Make sure your Mac qualifies for Mountain Lion > Upgrade your Mac to OS X Mountain Lion.
If you have anti virus software installed, disable that before downloading apps.
Turn off the Firewall in System Preferences > Security (or Security & Privacy) > Firewall
Try deleting the cache, cookies, and preference files (plist) associated with the App Store.
Quit the App Store if it's open.
Open the Finder. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type this exactly as you see it here:
~/Library/Caches/com.apple.appstore/Cache.db
Click Go
Move the Cache.db file to the Trash.
Now here:
~/Library/Preferences
Click Go
Move these files from the Preferences folder to the Trash.
com.apple.appstore.plist
com.apple.storeagent.pllist
Now here:
~/Library/Cookies
Click Go
Move the com.apple.appstore.plist file from the Cookies folder to the Trash.
Empty the Trash, try the App Store. -
Lion Install Failing: software could not be verified
So I download Lion, start the installer and I get the following error message pop-up:
The software could not be verified. It may have been corrupted or tampered with during downloading.
It took me nearly 7 hours to download this thing so downloading again is not an option. So is there any way I can fix this?
Here is the error that's being logged in the console when I run the installer:
7/21/11 10:56:51 AM Install Mac OS X Lion[9980] Error loading /Applications/Install Mac OS X Lion.app/Contents/PlugIns/IACoreStorage.IABundle/Contents/MacOS/IACoreStorage: dlopen(/Applications/Install Mac OS X Lion.app/Contents/PlugIns/IACoreStorage.IABundle/Contents/MacOS/IACoreStorage, 265): Library not loaded: /usr/lib/libcsfde.dylib
Referenced from: /Applications/Install Mac OS X Lion.app/Contents/PlugIns/IACoreStorage.IABundle/Contents/MacOS/IACoreStorage
Reason: image not found
Of course, /usr/lib/libcsfde.dylib doesn't exist anywhere on my 10.6.8 MacOS installation.
Anyone else run into this problem? Thanks for the reply. In another posting, the md5 checksum of a fully downloaded file should be:
b5d3753c62bfb69866e94dca9336a44a
This is for the installESD.dmg file inside the installer (right-click on "Install Mac Os X Lion" which will be in your /Applications folder after the download (but before the install - will get deleted after the install is complete); select 'Show Package Contents" from the menu; go into "Contents"; go into "SharedSupport"; you'll see the InstallESD.dmg disk image here).
To get the checksum, from Terminal, navigate to the directory (see paragraph above) and run:
md5 InstallESD.dmg
So I wasted my entire morning trying to figure out why this wasn't working. How is it that Apple can't inform you that the download didn't complete successfully?!!? Major $%^& up. -
When downloading the latest update to OS X Lion, it appeared to download OK. BUt when I clicked Restart to Install, a message appeared shortly that said it couldn't install, the download may have been corrupted. I've tried 3 r

HT201210 IOS 7 Update failed, then could not restore
Update of I-pad unsuccessful, then a dozen restore attempts unsuccessful from 2 different PCs. Same error message each time: "Ipad could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (9).
I now own an I-Brick. Thanks for the "update" Apple. This worked for me
Go to this site - http://www.ipswdownloader.com/. Enter your device, the model, and under the firmware menu, pick iOS 8.0. Then plug your phone into iTunes, and with the device window open, hold alt/option for Mac and shift for Windows while you click Restore. Next, select the .ipsw file you just downloaded, and wait while your phone wipes itself clean.
from there you can restore to this newer version and later you can restore the date from the backup -

From above it seems client tools component is missing from Installation or may be problem with Windows installer but I guess this is not issue with windows installer . Can you re download SQL Server package and run again.
Edit: For further analysis can you also post log from below location on skydrive

HELP! Firmware update failed. iPhone could not be restored Unknown 6
I wanted to upgrade my iPhone's firmware.
Plugin, backup, sync, etc, update downloaded and it began, extracting, preparing iphone, preparing software, then finally restoring iPhone.
IT NEVER FINISHES, I get an error code unknown 6, could not restore iphone.
I repeat, same thing every time.
I uninstall iTunes, even deleted my backup so everything is gone, reinstall, same thing
Created a new user account in windows so that it is forced to redownload the update, guess what, same thing.
Has anyone else encountered this problem and did they resolve it?
Thank you so much
MattI thought I should chime in even though some of the issues have been addressed.
I downloaded 2.0.1 yesterday evening. The download was relatively fast. The upgrade process began.
I am generally very finicky and always want to watch the progress meter. I have noticed that with Apple products (as Microsoft), the progress meter's generally mean nothing.
… Fast-forward about two hours. I come back to the computer and the upgrade is still doing its thing. It was stuck at the Restoring iPhone Software section. The iPhone became a brick the phone displayed the lovely connect to iTunes graphics.
I decided to kill the session and try again. iTunes began the upgrade yet again, but this time it stalled at the section right before Restoring iPhone Software.
I spent a good four hours working on this thing. I downloaded the latest iTunes hoping that would solve the problem. Again, no success. I also tried deleting the USB driver with no luck.
I went to sleep on the third attempt thinking it is taking its sweet time. I wake up at 3AM or so, and it is again, stuck on the last bar of Restoring iPhone Software meter.
It was at that point I decided to try something different. On a whim, I install iTunes on another computer. I plugged in the iPhone, downloaded the upgrade, and in about 30 minutes the upgrade completed successfully. I actually got a more consistent progress meter on the various updates. The iPhone restarted and iTunes recognized the phone instantly.
I plugged it back into my primary machine, which was giving me trouble, and everything is hunky dory.
*So, if you guys have been trying everything and are going insane, perform the upgrade on another machine.* It solved my problem and three other users’ issues that were having the same problem at work. -
whenever i try downloading anything on the appstore that's what it says.. i don't know what to do... i'm no expert on computer and i can only understand basic instructions. english is not my first language.. can anyone please help me??
all the other similar threads about this that i saw were from 2011 and i did not find them very helpful that's why i am asking this.. please helpSeveral causes for this problem have been reported. Please take each of the following steps that you haven't already tried. Stop when it's resolved.
Step 1
If possible, test on another network, such as a public hotspot (if the computer is portable) or the hotspot created by a mobile device. A network gateway that blocks some traffic, most likely on a company or university network, could be causing the error.
Step 2
Back up all data.
From the menu bar, select
▹ System Preferences... ▹ Network
If the preference pane is locked, click the lock icon in the lower left corner and enter your password to unlock it. Then click the Advanced button and select the Proxies tab. If any proxy options are selected, make a note of them and then deselect them. You don’t need to change the bypass or FTP settings. Click OK and then Apply. Test. The result may be that you can't connect to any web server. Restore the previous settings if that happens.
Step 3
Rebuild the Spotlight index. If you try to search now from the magnifying-glass icon in the top right corner of the display, there will be an indication that indexing is in progress.
Step 4
Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a Fusion Drive or a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually login automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.
