All cd's show up as Audio cd in itunes??
I just started to have an issue where all cd's show up as audio cd's with NO track information when trying to import! These are all cd's that are purchased from the store and not burned cd's! If someone can assist I would be greatful!!
Thank you for the response but I believe I figured out what the problem was!! I ran a virus scan and it ends up I had a trojan virus. My virus scan contained the virus and I try to import cds again and it worked! Not sure if this was the true reason or not but it works again and I am happy!

Tried to upgrading ipad 1 from itunes and l guess it did not complete the process because all I have showing on the ipad is the itunes logo with the usb cable. When l try to connect it to my system, it resquest that a driver be used to install the device. Please help! How do I restore?
Restoration is relatively simplistic. Here's whatcha do. Plug your ipad in, open itunes, now if itunes doesn't recognize it then you may have a problem, anywho, click on the ipad in the devices interface and go to the info tab, click restore, and it'll be just like it was when it left the factory. To get you data back, it should ask if you would like to use a backup, just select the backup you want and you'll be good to go. That is if you regularly backed up your iPad.

All my videos show up as audio files now- please help
Hi- Sorry if this has been answered before, but I went back 50 pages in the forum looking for an answer and didn't find one. Here's what happened: my iPod was connected to a PC with an older non-video version of iTunes. After that, my videos didn't register as video on the iPod. I can still play them from iTunes, but I can't see them on my iPod and they are not in the 'Videos' folder. It just plays the audio like it's a song, and they are all listed under 'Songs'. Is there any way to make the iPod recognize that they are videos? It's not really a huge problem for me, I just reloaded them, but the same thing happened to my friend after she went to Mexico, so she can't just reload them like I did. Does anybody here know how to fix this?

I don't know why you are unable to download the file, but it's not caused by Adobe Reader; it's either your Internet connection, or your browser. -
Finder shows cd as "Audio CD" altho iTunes shows the correct CD info
I have been backing up a stack of CD's. Most of them work fine in that iTunes opens up, looks up the title and track info from Gracenote (CDDB) and then the CD info in Finder gets updated to the same. However I have found a number of CDs that get looked up in iTunes, but for some reason will not get updated in Finder. Ejecting or unmounting and reinserting the cd does not fix it. Does anyone have any insight into this?
Meanwhile, I've come up with a workaround to my problem. I rip the cd to iTunes using Apple Lossless format. Then I burn the tracks to a virtual cd using VirtualCDRW. That new vcd mounts and Finder seems to be correctly identifying that. I can then create a dmg backup of the cd.

Audio Books Wont show up in audio books on my ipod.
Why does my audiobooks show up in Audio books in Itunes,but shows up in music on my ipod. Is ther any way I can straighten this out. I have tried everything, is there an issue with this, or can it be fixed by doing something simple.
Look at the file extension of one of the audiobooks you're talking about. If it ends with *.m4p then it reads as music in the Ipod. Follow the path "MyDocument, MyMusic, ITunes and in your ITunes folder change the extension to *.m4b then reload it into your Ipod. That should do the trick. I downloaded a ton of "This American Life" from ITunes and that was the problem.

itunes 11.1.3.8 shows a speaker icon in front of the seclection but it is not playing. the progress bar does not move. there are speakers attached to the system and all other programs do profuce an audio output.
Go to the Edit -> Preferences-> Playback
In The bottom section of the page click the drop down menu by Play Audio Using and select Windows Audio Session or something other than "Direct sound" or whatever it displays. Click Okay. This worked for me! I hope it works for you too!

Whenever I try to watch movies on iTunes on my computer, the video will randomly freeze, but the audio will continue. This happens will all of my shows, however this never happens on my iPod or iPad. Whenever I want to watch a new movie I buy or any of my shows this problem keeps happening. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling and it did not work. Why does this problem keep happening, and how can I fix it? Thank you.

How do I stream music from non-iTunes apps to Airport (mac air core-i7 OS 10.7.5 airport firmware 7.6.1 --- option-clicking speaker icon only shows internal speakers - audio streaming works from iTunes just fine.

I did not read the rather long post. If you wish to reinstall OS X 10.4, use your software install DVD. Backup is essential. To minimize your risk, I would use an archive and install:

In that way, you will have a fresh copy of OS X and your current settings will be preserved.
Incidentally, I do not agree that the printer problem is best solved by reinstalling OS X. I have had HP printers for sometime and, on one occasion, had difficulty after an upgrade. HP technical support walked me through uninstalling all traces of the HP driver and then reinstalling.

You cannot redownload audiobooks at all.
They will only be where you put them. -

Installed Windows MCE 2005 w/SP3 and everything up to date driver wise. Problem is HD Audio device is showing up twice in device manager. One shows installed, one shows that no drivers are loaded. I have uninstalled the device and uninstalled the drivers, and reloaded everything. Used drivers from CD and from download, but not luck. Any ideas on what could cause 2 of the same audio devices to show up and only one to actually load, besides a general hardware failure on the motherboard?That would make sense, if either the 9800GT or the K9N2 had and HDMI port. Sorry guys that's a no go. This is the first time I have ever run into this issue. 2 of the same audio devices showing up in device manager. One has drivers and loads, other shows unknown HD audio device and will not install drivers at all....

We have multiple devices in our family. On each iPad/iPhone each user has their own apple id for iMessage, Facetime and icloud, but we all sign in to the same apple id for itunes. When one of my kids comments on my shared photostream, it shows my name and not theirs as the commenter. How do I fix that?
CREATE A NEW USER
Go to System Preferences --> Create a New User in Users & Groups
Decide on whether to setup as Admin or Standard User.
Switch to the New User by logging out under the Apple in the Menu Bar or use Fast User Switching
Fast User Switching allows other users to leave current applications and windows open. Depending on RAM, you might need to log out rather than use FUS. -
When I go to my downloads folder on my dock and click the file all the content shows up but as soon as I go to open it in the finder, I get a blank window. Has anyone else had this problem, if so, How do you fix it. I also cant delete anything from this folder because of it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Now I wanted to listen to it on my iPhone so I proceeded to transfer the purchase and looked for the book in the purchased section of the store in the iTunes on my iPhone but it did not show up.
Does anyone know why and how I can transfer the audio book purchased on my iPhone so I can listen while away from the desk?

Note you have to check the boxes in Books pane for the iPod in iTunes to sync books in general and another box to sync Audio Books. -

My old iPod Nano says to use iTunes to restore and I've followed all suggested help steps, but I can't get it into disk mode nor can I get it to show in my computer or in iTunes. I have the latest version of iTunes. Windows has all the most recent updates too. I can reset the iPod, but the message to Use iTunes to restore comes back and I am stuck.
Already tried another USB port, still nothing.
I don't have another PC to check, I only have one which is the one not working with my iPod.
It appears under my Computer, just not under iTunes. Plus, the iPod classic troubleshooting assistant doesn't work because I can't restore since it can't come up onto my iTunes! Even my iPod says "Use iTunes to Restore" once in a while, but I plug it in & I'm not able to restore it since it won't come up under iTunes.
