"All-day" events in iCal appear one day early in week-view on iPad

Just got an iPad and synced with iCal. I noticed that "all day" events appear correctly in day-view and month-view, but in week-view, they are shifted one day earlier. But if I choose to edit such an event, the information is still correct, e.g. an all-day event for Monday, May 31 and Tuesday, June 1, has that information, and it appears on Monday and Tuesday in day- and month-view, but in week-view, it has "slid left" such that it appears on Sunday and Monday. Anyone else seeing this? Any solutions?

I have the same issue on all day events synced from Exchange. The items look fine in the day or month view.

  • All day events in iCal on 3Gs w/ iOS 4.0.2 show up day early in List view

For some reasons, all day events on my Calendar (iCal synced via MobileMe) are showing up a day earlier on my iPhone, but only when I use List view. They appear fine when I use iCal on my MBP or iMac. This happens with all day events on my calendars and subscribed calendars (e.g., birthdays).
If I tap on an event in the Day or Month view, the correct date is listed. If I tap on it in the List view, the day before is listed as the date.
What in the heck is going wrong here?

I am having the same problem. I have tried different scenarios and it looks like its an issue with syncing from MobileMe. I thought I had it beat when I saw my preferences for in iCal were set to to start at 8AM and end at 6PM. I made it Midnight to Midnight but that did not fix it.
I am perplexed - has to be a bug!

  • "All Day" Calendar issue between Lotus Notes, iPad & iPhone

I use only the Exchange sync feature to sync my corporate account with both my iPad and iPhone and both on iOS 4 latest releases. All my calendar entries (irrespective of which device I enter it on) sync flawlessly between all 3 devices. Except when I enter a multiple "All Day" event!
The computer and iPad display the correct start and end dates for the "All Day" events (so it is not a syncing issue), but the iPhone insists on shifting everything 1 day forward!
Any ideas why the iPhone does this although all other calendar entries are correct? I suspect this is something very specific in the iPhone calendar coding.

Did you ever manage to work out what was happening with this?

  • How to highlight days in Calendar Week view

I miss the old system of highlighting the current day's column (in "Week View"). It was eye-catching. The red dot doesn't do it for me.
Is there any way to get that feature back?
P.S. - I wish Jon Ive would go back to designing hardware. There is such a thing as "over minimization".

  • ICal opens although when I click week view iCal unexpectedly quits

    Dear colleague:
    May I have your help?
I will appreciate if somebody help me on this issue described bellow.
    Details of the crash:
    iCal opens smoothly.
I go to the month view and all appointments appears right correctly.
Right after clicking week view (button in the toolbar), iCal opens the week view yet seconds after it unexpectedly quits sending automatically reports to Apple.
Hoping to have any help very soon
    Thx

    IcemanKo70,
    Welcome to Apple Discussions.
First, refresh the the com.apple.iCal.plist file. You will find the com.apple.iCal.plist file in your Macintosh HD/Users/yourusername/Library/Preferences Folder. Quit iCal, drag the com.apple.iCal.plist file to your Desktop, log out/in or restart.
Then before restarting iCal, open System Preferences...>Language & Text>Formats>Region: and set/reset the appropriate region.

  • ICal - I have all the events from the past decade listed for this week

My iCal calendar has every event from the last ten years listed in every day - each event is tagged 'repeat Every day' and 'end Never'. I have a non-corrupted version on my iPhone. I have tried restoring from Time machine and this works but then reverts to this confusion. I even deleted the .plist.
HELP - my Calendar is my life (and my history)

    Greetings,
Remove the following to the trash and restart your computer:
    Home > Library > Caches
Home > Library > Calendars > Calendar Cache, Cache, Cache 1, 2, 3, etc. (Do not remove Sync Cache or Theme Cache)
Home > Library > Preferences > com.apple.ical (There may be more than one of these. Remove them all.)
__NOTE: Removing these files will remove any shared (CalDAV) calendars you may have access to. You will have to re-add those calendars to iCal > Preferences > Accounts.
    If the events remain:
    Reset your Sync history: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1627
    Then restore from your backup.
If that does not work let us know.

  • Holidays and All Yearly Events On iCal ?

Why is there not all Holidays and yearly events (mothers day, fathers day, presidents day, etc..) on iCal ?
Is there anyway to get them on there every year ?
    Thanks -

The same thing happened to me, during the update my iCloud account name was changed to a previous account.
    1) Go to "Settings" and scroll down to the iCloud section and open it.  At the very top make sure that your account name listed is correct.  If not, scroll to the bottom and hit the red "delete account" button and then set up the correct account.
    2) Go back to "Settings" and scroll down to the "iTunes & App Stores" section and make sure the Apple ID listed at the top of the page is correct.  If not, sign out and sign in with your current account.
If one of these is your issue, correct it then go back to "settings" and turn on "Airplane Mode" for 30 seconds or so and then turn it off again (this resets your wi-fi and will have iCloud sync to your phone again).
Hope this helps, it fixed my similar problem

  • Broadband dropping all day for 6 weeks, no fix by ...

For the past 6 weeks I have been in contact with BT's "Customer Service" to try and fix an on going problem with my broadband which drops roughly every 10 - 15 minutes throughout each and every day - one test showed it had dropped 90 times in one day alone.
Despite weeks of being told the same thing - switch off, restart, reset etc etc - There was still no fix and after further calls to India I was told to replace the Hub. However, depsite years of being a BT customer, as my current contract had ended, I was told that I had to pay for this unless I signed up to another 12 month contract.
Based on the fact that the "Customer Service or Support" had hardly been forthcoming on this, plus the fact I may be moving flats in a few months I wasn't keen to do this so agreed to pay for the new hub and also delivery which set me back over £60 . . . .
Of course, the new hub arrived, was all set up and the same problem persisted.
Finally this week, they agreed to send an engineer who I was assured would be able to fix any problems. The the friendly man from BT arrived promptly at 8.15am this morning. He stayed for an hour, checked out the connections, installed a new wall socket, switched the one week old Hub with a new one and all seemed fine. However, an hour later the old problems returned and for the rest of today the Broadband connection has been disappearing every 10 - 15 minutes.
As a result I have spent a further two hours on the phone with India again today trying to get BT to resolve this problem . . . . Which has resulted in an appointment for NEXT WEDNESDAY for another engineer to come along.
This is now infuriating. I work freelance and this means working from home a few days a week and I am finding it impossible to work with a connection that constantly drops off. There has been no urgency from BT on this matter, and each time I ask to be put through to someone to log a proper complaint, and to get a response on why this is taking so long - and costing me money for equipment to be replaced which is obviously not faulty - I am fogged off each time. They say they will make a note on my file that I am unhappy, but there is no response on this?!!
How am I meant to get this resolved? All I desire is a broadband connection which does not constantly drop off and an acknowledgement from BT that this has not been dealt with properly and that my complaint needs appropriate attention. Additionally, no one seems to take note of the fact that I have been charged for a new Hub which is now clearly not the cause of the problem . . .. .
Any ideas? I am at my wits end. Woudl appreciate thoughts or contact from a BT employee who actually has some authority!

  • Not all Mac entries on iCal appear on iPhone and iPad

All devices (iMac, iPhone, and iPad) have the latest operating systems and my Mobile Me account has been moved to iCloud.  Up until recently (maybe the past two or three weeks), all iCal entries made on my Mac would sync with both my iPad and iPhone.  Recently, none of the iCal entries made on my Mac sync with either of the other two devices.  I also now have double entries for some future events (which I had cleaned up before somehow).  Would appreciate help and advice on how to clear this up.  Thanks

Ferd II, thanks for your input.  It was quite instructive but it didn't solve my particular problem.  I did find another post that finally solved the problem.
O  Open System Preferences > iCloud
O  Deselect Calendar box then reselect and restart Mac  (I did choose the option of wiping out all of my calendar data)
O  On the iPad tap Settings >iCloud
O  Toggle Calendars off then back on then reset the iPad (hold ON/OFF & SLEEP/WAKE buttons until the Apple logo apprears.
A similar approach seemed to work with my iPhone but I still had several duplicate entries so I wiped all of them out and will reenter the data manually

  • Is there a way to show all banners in week view without having to scroll?

The new version of iCal does not allow to see all "all day" banners in week view. Does anyone know if there is a way to change this feature back to the previous versions?
    Thanks!

No. You cannot mass delete the emails on the iPad. Why don't you try deleting them on the server on a computer? If it is an IMAP email account, that will also delete the emails from the iPad.

  • IOS - iCal problem - Events appear as "all-day" whereas they shouldn't

See below a conversation I had with a service provider.
There is a bug in iOS when dealing with events in UTC times.
    Any solution to this?

    Hi,
I noticed a small problem with a calendar to which I subscribed on my iphone.
Events that are configured to last from 6.30pm to 7.30pm appears as Full-day events on iOs.
Thank you for reporting this issue. We're aware that IOS sometimes
misinterprets the iCal files we provide. It appears that it is reading
the times properly (as seen in the event detail and grid views), but is
mislabeling the events as all-day in the list view. Is this what you're
    seeing?
    Thank you
    Michael
    Exactly.
In the event's details, times are OK, but in the listing, event appears as all-day.
But why only for 6.30 to 7.30? When i change times to 5.30 to 6.30, it shows fine.
It appears to be related to the interpretation of time-zone information. We provide the game times in UTC format and count on your device's calendar program to make the appropriate adjustments for the local time zone. When the provided UTC times span two days (e.g. 11:30pm - 12:30 am, before time zone adjustment), IOS seems to mislabel the event as "all-day".
    Thank you.
    Michael

Does this problem still occur with iOS8?

Is there a way to prevent the background color from All-Day-Events in iCal? I would prefer to print/view the calendar w/o the background colors.

  • Show ALL all-day events in week view

I am looking for a way to see ALL all-day events in iCal's week view. By default, it only shows up to two and a half events, and to see more you need to scroll. What's more, you don't see an out-of-view marker, so you don't always know you need to scroll. This is most annoying.
The same goes for timed events in week view. You do not get an out-of-view marker, so you don't know you need to scroll. This is inconsistent with the Cal app on the Mac, where you do get an out-of-view marker (a small line in the colour of the out-of-view event).
Is there a way to fix these issues in iCal? Or is there an iCal alternative that offers these things? I am basically looking for these things, each of which is a possible deal breaker for me (and I find it hard to figure out if iCal alternatives offer these basic functions):
    Week view.with out-of-view markers.
Week view showing ALL all-day events.
Icon that shows the date (in the icon or in a badge).

I'm not sure how this got in the iPhone forum. I seem to recall posting in the iPad forum, but I may be wrong. Anyway, it's iCal for iPad I'm talking about, even though the same issues exist on the iPhone.
