All devices working with AEBS except one

So I have a network with an Airport Extreme Base Station. Several devices use the network without any problems, including:
MacBook Pro (older Core Duo model) - running OS 10.5.8
Powerbook G4 (still kicking) - running OS 10.5.8
Mac Mini (new, Core 2 Duo) - running OS 10.6.x
iPod Touch
iPad
The AEBS is set to use DHCP, and all machines seem to be functioning fine with the network, despite various processors and OS versions. The Mini is a server that is left running 24/7, while the others connect and disconnect to the network throughout the day.
The machine that is having network problems is a desktop PowerMac G5 (Dual 2 GHz model, running OS 10.5.8).
The problem that I am getting is that the desktop can detect the network, but it either can't connect to the network (it times out), or it connects but doesn't get a very functional net connection. On some occasions I have looked in the Network control panel and it is given an appropriate IP by the DHCP server, but the connection is either too slow to be usable or just non-functional. Other times it just never gets a valid IP. However, one thing to consider is that there have been (very) brief periods when I have been able to connect the G5 to the network and it has seemed normal, only to fail again within a short period of time.
I thought it was something wrong with the wireless hardware in the G5 machine, but if I connect to a MiFi instead of the AEBS, it works fine and I experience no problems with the network connection. So it does not appear to be a problem with the hardware.
Could this be some sort of incompatibility on the network? I thought that might be, except that an machine just as old (the Powerbook G4) running the same OS version has no problems.

Please try the following:
1. Delete Preferred Network(s)
o System Preferences > Network > AirPort > Advanced > AirPort tab
o Under "Preferred Networks," delete the network(s) you regularly use from the list.
2. Delete AirPort Keychain Entries
o Launch the "Keychain Access" application located in Applications/Utilties.
o Click on the "Kind" filter at the top, and look for any "AirPort network password" entries...and delete them.
o Restart, or log out then back in.
3. Add Preferred Network(s)
o System Preferences > Network > AirPort > Advanced > AirPort tab
o Add the preferred network(s) using the "+" button.
o Restart or log out then back in.

    Compare contact informations on both iphones. Are you trying to send imessages through your apple id's or through your telephone numbers (Settings>Message>Receive at) Try another email address (not apple id)

    iTunes imposes a 90 day wait period before a device can be associated with a different ID.  If iTunes support only removed all devices associated with your ID, this does not override the 90-day wait period.  From http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4627:
    "Removing a device from your Apple ID does not override the 90 day timer. The timer must complete 90 days from the day the device was associated before it can be associated to another Apple ID."
    Unless iTune support can override the wait period for you, you have no choice but to wait if you want to download it from iCloud.  If your purchases music is on any of your iOS deivces, you can transfer it to the iTunes library on your computer by authorizing your computer for the Apple ID(s) used to purchase the music (in iTunes, Store>Authorize This Computer), then connecting your device to your computer, opening iTunes, and going to File>Devices>Transfer Purchases.

    I would contact Apple under your warranty.  I doubt you received a new iPod since Apple's policy is to give you a refurbished iPod.

    - Is it a 4G iPod? That model sometimes mates poorly with dock because the configuration of the iPod by the dock connector is different that other devices. Thus, make sure it is fulld/seated in the dock.
    - Have you brought the iPod and dock to the Genius at the an Apple store.

    And it's totally impractical for any OS to provide complete backwards compatibility in perpetuity. So no, Apple cannot grant your request. As WJ said, it's the developers' reponsibility to provide updates to their applications to be compatible with newer operating system releases, whatever the platform might be.

    You need to provide more information about your network. What frequency does it use (2.4ghz or 5.0ghz), which wireless protocol (a, b, g, b/g compatibility, n), and what security are you using (WEP, WPA2, etc.)?
    Please also provide more information about your iPod Touch. Which model is it, and which version of the iOS are you running on it?

  • A printer that works with AEBS-n!!

    Got the AEBS-n about 2 weeks ago, and spent a few days pulling my hair out (like others), and decided to go look for a new printer, as the old one (HP OfficeJet 5510) just wasn't doing the job when connected to the AEBS.
    Went with the HP Deskjet 7310; plugged it into the ethernet port, and all is good
    OfficeMax has the Deskjet 7310 @ $199 blowout. Office Depot has the DeskJet 7410 on sale at $325, with a $125 mail in rebate. Both printers work with the AEBS-n.

    For an All-in-One (or almost ) we have a LaserJet CM-1017, color printer, scanner and copier connected to the ethernet port of our new AEBS running 5GHz "n" only. Not only does it work great through the LAN, I have also configured it so I can print to it from Internet.
    I wasn't big on the new HP design with all the toners in the front but it can print on almost anything.
    Initially I tried using USB but the HP Director software wouldn't "see" the printer so I switched to ethernet.

I have charges to my account that I do not want to continue as I don't know where they are coming from. I need to delete all credit information as soon as possible.     Why can't these devices work on an iPod Touch 4G?

    Does the manufactur say it works with the iPod Touch?  Many accessories do not work with all three iDevices (iPod Touch, iPad and iPhone)

I reset the settings on the printer. I upgraded the Airport firmware and removed, reinstalled, and upgraded the Lexmark printer driver. After I upgraded the firmware and printer driver, a few pages printed correctly, but then I got the same syntax error page as before. Any suggestions for getting the printer to work correctly?

    Use a powered USB hub between the AE and the printer.. the usb port does sometimes have issues.
    Try deleting the printer in the Mac and reinstall it.. the change in AE can represent effectively a change of printer.. it is important to make sure that is all up to date.
    Beyond that.. USB printers.. ughhh! Consider for two toners you can go and buy a proper network printer.

  • Firefox doesn`t display any pictures. All sites work with mistakes, but work at IE or Chrome is correct.

    Problems with e-mail - cann't read the whole text of the letter, cann't answer.

    If images are missing then check that you aren't blocking images from some domains.
    *Check the permissions for the domain in the current tab in "Tools > Page Info > Permissions"
    *Check that images are enabled: Tools > Options > Content: [X] Load images automatically
    *Check the exceptions in "Tools > Options > Content: Load Images > Exceptions"
    *Check the "Tools > Page Info > Media" tab for blocked images (scroll through all the images with the cursor Down key).
    If an image in the list is grayed and there is a check-mark in the box "<i>Block Images from...</i>" then remove that mark to unblock the images from that domain.
    Make sure that you do not block third-party images, the permissions.default.images pref should be 1.

    There are also extensions (Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) and security software (firewall, anti-virus) that can block images.

    You will need to post O365 questions in the O365 forums.
    The GAL is automatically sync'd  with all devices.  Changes to address lists are immediately available.  It is up to the device to sync to Exchange which should be automatic for supported devices.
    ActiveSync technology is "active"  it is not periodic.
