All displays/icons/everything just got bigger

Hi
I hope that is is a very easy problem to solve. All the displays icons and everything has just increased/ almost doubled in size on my imac. So nothing now appears to fit on the screen.
How do I set everything back to the original size display. For example the information on the top tool bar now takes up the whole tool bar whereas before it only took up about one third of the tool bar.
Also on firefox it used to display 14 sites on the top tool bar search it now only displays 7.
Is there a way that I can reset the size of all displays back to the original factory based size setting?

SO I PUT IN MY IPOD NANO TO ADD MORE SONGS. WHEN I TRIED TO CLICK ON THE "UPDATE IPOD" ICON IN THE "FILE" FOLDER, IT WAS IDLE. AN ICON APPEARED STATING THAT I NEED NEW SOFTWARE TO UPDATE IPOD SO I CLICKED ON IT AND IT SAID DO YOU WANT TO UPDATE OR RESTORE, SO WHEN I HIT UPDATE IT DELETED THEM.I DIDNT HIT THE RESTORE BUTTON BECAUSE IT BLATANTLY STATED THAT ALL OF THE SONGS WILL BE ERASED AND I DID NOT HIT THE RESTORE BUTTON.
SO NOW ON MY ITUNES PAGE, MY IPOD HAS ALL OF THE SONGS ON THERE BUT I STILL CANT HIT THE "UPDATE IPOD" TO REFILL MY IPOD WITH MY ORIGINAL SONGS.
WHAT DO I NEED TO DO IN ORDER TO GET MY SONGS BACK ON MY IPOD???????
P.S....I JUST FOUND OUT THAT MY ROOMMATE PURCHASED A NEW IPOD AND WHEN I LOOKED IN THE DRIVE, THE IPOD INTRODUCTORY CD WAS IN THERE. DID THAT DO SOMETHING?????

um i'm not sure if this will help or not, but when your in itunes, instead of doing the whole update ipod thing, did you try to click and drag the songs into the ipod from the library? Thats how i usually do it, so i figured if you did it differently maybe you didnt know about the other one? Sorry if you have already tried this =]

I use aol mail on pcs, MacBooks and the original iPad. All good. No issues for many years. I recently got an iPad third generation with AT&T lte service. Now much of my wife's email displays as garbage when i use the att service. Genius bar guys could not help. They guessed that the garbage being displayed might be HTML code. We all suspect that there might be some problem with the relationship among aol, AT&T (lte) and Apple, but no one knows where or how. My mail servers are set up the same on the old iPad and the new iPad (IMAP and SMTP). Bottom line is: I got the new iPad, and it does not work for my most important app. Wireless works fine.
Any suggestions? The genius bar guys started a trouble ticket.
Many people must be having this problem.

I must be part of the "No one" that still uses AOL mail. I still use it (two AOL accounts in fact) and have used it pretty much without issue for years and years.
I have never had an issue with AOL mail on my iPad. I wish that I could say the same for my business Microsoft Exchange account that users swear by. Of the five email accounts that I have, the Exchange account is by far the most unreliable and issue ridden email account that I have.
Even my two Comcast email accounts work far better than my buggy Exchange account.

Everything just got wiped

Hello,
I went on my iMac today and everything was wiped gone. I restarted the computer it recovered a few files. It was as if I had just bought a brand new mac. It is weird though. Applications are still there and they recovered like some pictures and stuff. The rest is gone, music and sort. Let me know if you know anything I am using Tiger.

Did you have everything stored on a backup source such as an external drive or CD/DVD's? If so, you can restore from the backup.
It sounds as though the startup disk may be failing. Try booting from your install disc, run Disk Utility to Verify and if necessary, repair errors.
Insert your install disk and Restart, holding down the "C" key until grey Apple appears.
Go to Installer menu and launch Disk Utility.
Select your HDD (manufacturer ID) in the left panel.
Select First Aid in the Main panel.
*(Check S.M.A.R.T Status of HDD at the bottom of right panel. It should say: Verified)*
Click Repair Disk on the bottom right.
If DU reports disk does not need repairs quit DU and restart.
If DU reports errors Repair again and again until DU reports disk is repaired.
When you are finished with DU, from the Menu Bar, select Utilities/Startup Manager.
Select your start up disk and click Restart
While you have the Disk Utility window open, look at the bottom of the window. Where you see Capacity and Available. *Make sure there is always 10% to 15% free disk space*
If you cannot boot from your install disc, try booting in Safe Mode

A ' Large Other ' usually indicates Corrupt Data...
First Try a Restore from Backup... But... if the Large Other Persists, that is an Indicator of Corrupt Data in the Backup... Then a Restore as New is the way to go...

I cannot hear any sound on my laptop DV6 1030 us even though all my icons show that l should

So, today just cannot hear a sound on it, all the icons are just as previous, they show l should, but no! I put the headphones in the sockets, nothing, when l put them in the mic socket, there l can hear just the noise that i insert something there. I can see the volume cursor going up down when l move it, but l don't hear anything... and nothing it's turned off.
Can this be a virus?

The internal speakers started working after uninstalling the sound drivers and restarted the machine, after which the system reinstalled the High Definition Audio Device driver, which was hitherto being used for the Headset speakers.
Today, the external speakers (the ones used by the headset) stopped working. Both the internal and external speakers
have the same High Definition Audio Device driver. Both are showing "device is working properly", but when the headset is plugged into the two jacks (in and out), the sound does not come from the headset earpiece, but from the internal speakers (ie the loudspeakers).
Any solution for this ?
My wife's machine has been having a similar, though not identical problem, since the last couple of weeks. In her
case, when the headset is plugged in, there is no sound at all, neither from the headset speakers, nor from the internal speakers.
Just to eliminate the possibility of the headsets malfunctioning, I tried using another headset, but with the same
results as above.

Yes there is. Those songs are not actually on your iPad. They are in iCloud ready for download if you choose to do so. If you want to remove them go to Settings>iTunes & App Store>Show All>Music>Off. You can also do this in Settings>Music>Show All Music>Off.

Copy the Library over manually.
To move an iPhoto Library to a new machine:
Link the two Macs together: there are several ways to do this: Wireless Network,Firewire Target Disk Mode, Ethernet, or even just copy the Library to an external HD and then on to the new machine...
But however you do choose to link the two machines...
Simply copy the iPhoto Library from the Pictures Folder on the old Machine to the Pictures Folder on the new Machine.
Then launch iPhoto. That's it.
This moves photos, events, albums, books, keywords, slideshows and everything else.

Apps are in iTunes, are not part of the backup and when you updated the phone, you need to sync that content back.
