All fine until last restart

Concerning iMac G3 266, Friend of mine brought his old iMac 266 to hopefully update the system, after I checked and did firmware update first, I proceeded to update his iMac 266 to OS 9.2.2. Everything working fine then he inquired if it would run OS X, so went to install 10.2 but found we had not installed firmware update 4.1.7 so we quit OS 10.2 installer and restarted but upon restart computer froze, no response in anyway so had manually to power down unit, waited a while and went to power up computer and now show no power to anything, no orange light, nothing, reset PRAM, plugged unit back to power still nothing, what happened here?

Hey well the firmware version for the trays is 1.2 as far as I can tell. There was also an update to go to 9.2.2:

I'd try a PMU reset. It could be a flyback problem. Sometimes when this happens I'll pull the battery and power cord, push the power button and let the iMac just sit there. Sometimes for a week. When I come back often the problem is gone.

I tried the first aid tasks but the issue is still there. I have more info now though. It's not a problem with merging.
The problem is that new projects are being generated everytime aperture starts (with the same name, ie 01, 02.... and 01 (1), 02 (1) .....)
When aperture start, it shows "importing". When I click on importing, it goes into the activity box. In the activity box, has many lines as below. The added projcts are all empty. It's annoying because i have many useless projects being generated.

Why am I not able to download all the messages from the email server, only few are downloaded, the rest are not? Things were fine until last week.

I've tried all the suggestions including deleting the inbox.msf etc. I have also tried uninstalling and reinstalling Thunderbird, but none of them seem to work.

Is it hanging on the same message each time? If so go to your email providers web mail site and log into your account there. Read and delete the problem message and see if the remaining messages download.

Sync works fine until I restart firfox and then I have to re enter all account information again, how can I make sync remember this

Forgot to Mention i'm using Windows 8.1 - 32 GB Ram - i7-3970x - 2 SSd's in raid 0 for C Drive/ Storage drive is three ( 2 tb HDD in a raid 0 ) / Pictures Folder defaults to the Storage Drive not the Application drive .

I uptaded my ipod recently to ios 5 i have a 3rd/4th gen and wanted to use i message its all fine until i go to send a message it goes about 90% of the way and just doesnt send comes up delivery failed same as facetime wont conect with the otherperson

In a word, yes. In a little more detail.... When you restore from an iCloud backup, you must erase the device and start all over again. There is no other way to access the backup in iCloud without erasing the device. Consequently, you are starting all over again. Therefore, it would also be my assumption that Pages and Numbers will work again and that the deleting apps issues would be fixed as well.
If the documents are not in the backup, and you do not have a backup elsewhere, the documents could be gone forever.

All fine until 10.4.11

Everything was smooth and relatively fast until the most recent automatic and install of 10.4.11. Now everything launches sluggishly, with intermittent pauses. I used to be able to print something and surf the net while copying files without any slowdown, but now there is slowdown?
Have fixed permissions? Anyone else out there? And thank you for your time.

Try starting up in Safe Mode, log in Empty Trash, then Restart normally and log in.
If that does not help then
Download and install Mac OS X 10.4.11 Combo update (PPC)
Repair Disk Permissions in Applications > Utilities > Disk Utility.

My iPOd touch was working fine last night. Today it has not updated email. When I try to send an email it telsl me that the username or password is incorrect. I have veryfied both hundreds of times and they are correct. It actually allows me to send emails but it has not updated the mailboxes.

Firefox doesn't remember my user ID and password in several websites. 3.6.9, cookies enabled, worked fine until last week.

especially annoying on forums, since if you are active there, you need the retype user ID and password everytime.

Maybe check the date and time in the clock on your computer: (double) click the clock icon on the Windows Taskbar.

I have been using Firefox on this computer for over a year and it worked fine until last week. I get "problem loading this page" anywhere I try to go. I tried uninstalling and re-installing but nothing works.

I can't think of any changes I made that caused it. I have not installed any new programs. My daughter used it for some I-Tunes stuff before it started this problem but I can't say it caused it.

Apple will not touch a jailbroken device.
You can try restoring as new, but it is not always possible to restore a jailbroken device to a pristine state.
If possible, return the device to the person or store that it was purchased for refund.

I guess you could try but I don't believe Apple can help with activation lock issues. They may, however, be able to determine if the Apple ID belongs to one of you and reset the password for you if you can prove your identity.
You might want to try calling Apple by going to https://expresslane.apple.com; click 'More Products and Services, then 'Apple ID'. In the next page select 'Other Apple ID Topics' then 'Lost or forgotten Apple ID password'. Perhaps they can help determine if it's your ID and reset the password for you (and they probably have more expertise in doing this than the Apple store).

The point is not whether you used iTunes or iCloud to restore your new iPhone. It's whether you have Contacts turned on in Settings > ICloud. If you do on both your old iPhone and new iPhone then those devices are connected through iCloud. Deletions on one device are also made on the other.
You may be able to restore your Contacts be using your old device backup to restore your new iPhone again. Make sure that you turn Off ICloud functionality on your old iPhone before you delete anything else from it.

I'm suddenly getting the kernel panic message and constant restarts when connected to the time machine wireless network. if is switch to the BT network, all fine. no help found so far as to what's wrong or how to correct, anyone have any thoughts...

Recently upgraded to mountain lion in order to buy the new tall tower for time machine backups. had to get technical support to help with set up as it wouldn't play ball with two computers. all working fine up until last week when the iMac started getting backup error messages. then system restarts independently when using time machine on the time machine wireless network. only stops restarting when I switch the wireless network back to he bt one, which is a pain obviously as can't back up to time machine then. it has to be a problem with airport utility or something wireless but all says all up to date with software etc. all still works fine backing up from laptop on the wireless network, just the iMac is not happy. any help or thoughts very much appreciated.

"what could I do *instead* of ..." rather than the one I actually asked, but seriously ...
Shutting down might be an answer, although it would clear out my tmp directory - which I might not want to have to sort through looking for things I want to save every time I go to work, and also, now that nvram doesn't seem to work for disabling the boot chime, it can get a bit embarassing booting up in a busy meeting if I have forgotten to mute before I shut down. There are all sorts of other issues, such as editing documents, loading web pages and so on that I would have to set up again.
Your suggestion of letting Apple know is a good one - thank you for the link.
