All folders: no photos, no messages, nothing! What is wrong?
The mail app on my iPad is taking up 1.4g of space. I've cleared all email from all folders: no photos, no messages, nothing is being kept! What is wrong?
Restart your iPad to see a difference is storage space after deleting data.
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red "slide to power off" slider appears, then swipe the slider to power off.
Then press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.

Can someone help. I use Photoshop Elements 13. I can no longer save edited photos. get messages - "Nothing was imported" "The file or folders selected to import did not contain supported file type. iphone says messages is taking up 6GB of storage, even after I deleted all my messages. What is wrong? This is preventing me from downloading the most recent iOS, not to mention numerous other things. Thanks for any help! I am at a loss of what to do.
For that much storage being taken up the only thing that can be done as of now is back the device up in iTunes and restore the iphone. The restore will also update the phone.

I have edited a movie in Final Cut Pro and the video has been smooth all the time.
Now, when the one hour long movie is ready the video seem to paus every 5 sec (only for half a second). It does it all the way through the movies.
What is wrong? All the sudden.We need info, info, info!
What version of FCP X?
Did you render? what are the project specs? do you use many compound clips? how much ram, hard drive space, how is the hard drive connected?
It looks like your mac can't keep up. Maybe the bottleneck is the hard drive, or something else.
Try exporting a master file and see if the video is ok.
Also, keep Activity Monitor open and see how much memory pressure you've got. -

You share the same Apple ID and in iOS 8 there is a new feature, which if you didn't share the same ID, you can answer a call on another device if one is another room as long as they are both on iOS 8. To stop this, go to Settings > Facetime and turn off iPhone Cellular Calls. That will stop this for you.

My iPhone has recently been crashing (or rather the apps) when I would try to access my text messages, contacts, phonebook, facebook, or email. I tried restarting my phone and lost all of my contacts. This has been happening more and more frequently. Today I was in my pictures and was trying to crop one and my phone shut off completely. Anyone know what's wrong with it or how to fix it?
Make sure all apps are fully closed:
- double tap your home button
- hold your finger on an app
- when the apps start to wiggle press the red "-" button on all the apps
Now do a hard reset:
- hold the home button and the sleeps/wake button down at the same time
- the phone will shut off then when the apple logo ppears release both buttons
If by then your contacts have not been restored you would need to try and retreive them from a back up on itunes/icloud that was made when the contacts were on the phone. You could even stream them from the cloud if they were synced to the cloud. The link beow will show you how to restore from an itunes/icloud back up:

It is a pity that I lost all the new features offered by the new firmware , just because Apple staff could not think to try this new update, on ipods with some airtime.
I hope Apple pull out a version 1.3 with the ability to choose the feature detection, and the user can disable it at will. -
Help, please before my husband dropkicks our beloved iMac into the street. His documentary has one one 42s interval comprised of 2 clips and a series of photos for which the voiceover won't play. It has played previously, but has disappeared. The music track also is gone. We've recorded with no luck. We recorded in another spot and dragged the voiceover and can see it's there. But it won't play. Why would one section of a film suddenly fail with audio? We need a quick fix! He presents his documentary next Friday at a convention. Help!!!

I'm no expert, but I think in order to get an expert interested you will have to mention the following.
What type of camcorder are you using?
What are your recording settings on that camera?
How many, and what kind of effects did you use on your project?
What are your export settings?
It's somewhat arguable whether PC's or Macs are better, but you can take it to the bank that imovie is easier than any movie editing program on a PC. -
Incomplete import from OE in XP. Not all folders imported, and no messages imported.
I have OE installed in WindowsXP. Installed Tbird. Tried import tool to import everything from OE. Only a few of the folders showed up, and no messages were imported. Tried uninstall and re-install of TBird...no help. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Lenhave you used Version 24. Import is fundamentally broken in 31 for import from outlook. I assume it is no better for outlook express.

So, if i have 3 folders with my kids name and every kid have 4-5 folders, then i cant see there folders just all the pics together.

TS4079 My iPhone no longer "hears" dictated text messages. What's wrong?
This just started out of the blue. One day, I can dictate long text messages, press send and it's done. Now suddenly, it fidgets for a few seconds, and the text line goes blank, as if I never dictated anything. I've re-started the phone, there is plenty of memory and the software is updated.
I was having trouble with V to Text after I loaded Nuance Dragon Dictation I had no Apple OS voice to text So I finally removed the app and reset the phone settings in general and the V to Talk came back. Apparently one of the voice settings was inop but displayed as on????? Don't know but I had restored the phone and restarted it and all that and till I reset the settings nothing was working and now it is. Might try it. I'd journal my current settings before a total reset....

So, the code above should just "do nothing". But: all following painting operations are totally messed up. When I comment out both the "g2d.shear(...)" lines, the following painting operations are normal.

and second time round you are doing

I work as the photographer in a small Photography studio and we use a Lab in Melbourne to retouch and print our photographs for our clients. This Lab (Nulab) has software downloaded to my Mac from their website which I use to upload the images, request certain finishes & retouching for each file. However, in the last week, I have not been able to export these images to them in Melbourne - it creates a folder on their end and then tries to communicate back to my end, but it obviously hits something and therefore won't upload the images to their folder.
Before it stopped working, I had upgraded to the new Mavericks, I had callibrated my computer & redownloaded the software from our lab's website. Nothing else has changed. I have been through everything I can think of (security settings, Firewall, Antiviruses - disabling and uninstalling, reinstalling Lab software) as well as contacting the lab and their IT man looking into it having remote control of my desktop. We are both unsure of what has happened.
Can anyone help?Let me make two suggestions before offering something to try;
1. Never upgrade unless you know that your mission critical software is compatible.
2. Never be without at least two separate backups. You are a business. Backups are essential.
Try these in order testing your system after each to see if it's back to normal:
1. a. Resetting your Mac's PRAM and NVRAM
b. Intel-based Macs: Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC)
2. Restart the computer in Safe Mode, then restart again, normally. If this doesn't help, then:
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the
COMMAND and R keys until the Utilities menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the
computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager
screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
3. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu. Select Restart from the Apple menu.
Reinstall the 10.9.2 update: OS X Mavericks 10.9.2 Update (Combo).
4. Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion, Mavericks: Reboot from the Recovery HD. Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion, Mavericks from the Utilities menu, and click on the Continue button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.
Reinstall the 10.9.2 update: OS X Mavericks 10.9.2 Update (Combo). -
Calling all java gurus - i cant figure out what is wrong with my code
please can someone see why a null pointer exception is being thrown and how do i fix it?
my current code which throws the null pointer is as below - the key issues that i need some java expert to tell me about is
1. is the usage of resultSet ok in the way i'm doing it , i'm not able to look at the code in debug mode as don't have an IDE and don't know how to do a log4j setup. - i tried doing an out.println("Got........"); but servlet keeps on forwarding the request object to results.jsp even when i comment out the code. and recomplie and restart tomcat 4.1.
2. is the way i'm declaring the List object and the adding stuff to bean and then stuffing bean into list ok?
3. why is the List object null? although i know the query works fine - and that using the below original code where only one row of data was being retrieved and set into bean worked fine.
