All I get is the color wheel when I open Apergture

I have a pretty extensive library of photos. Yet everytime I open the library, Aperture freezes. Al I get is the color wheel.
Any thoughts on what to do?

I paid for the student creative cloud and was able to download the actual software but my Mac will not open the installer for the cloud. I click on the download (which is the installer) and all I get is the color wheel that shows that it's having issues completing the task. All I get in the menu bar when I open Firefox IS "Firefox"--no bookmarks, no nothing. How canI get bookmarks back and Firefox functioning.

I have used Firefox forever. (I also use Thunderbird.) When I opened Firefox all I get now in the menu bar is the word "Firefox" with the "About Firefox," "Preferences," etc. list. Nothing else. I cannot open Firefox and I cannot quit it, either. I can do nothing with it at all. How can I get it back. I need my hundreds of bookmarks.
I use a MAC with Lion 10.7.5

Try to repair the disk permissions:

Go to "~/Library/Preferences" and remove the plist file for Firefox (org.mozilla.firefox.plist)

When I try to set the automatic time zone on my iPad in Settings all I get is the "waiting" wheel constantly turning. The only way to set the time is in the manual mode. Does anyone else have this problem? Thanks!

OK ... so I just restarted and opened Safari first ... no spinning ball. And I opened mail after hitting the rebuild, well, I'm missing messages from Dec. 24 - now, but it opened right away. Most messages are FB feeds, so it's not like I've lost anything important. So, initial thoughts ... Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

There are 9 different versions of iPhoto and they run on 9 different versions of the Operating System. The tricks and tips for dealing with issues vary depending on the version of iPhoto and the version of the OS. So to get help you need to give as much information as you can. Include things like:
- What version of iPhoto.
- What version of the Operating System.
- Details. As full a description of the problem as you can. For example, if you have a problem with exporting, then explain by describing how you are trying to export, and so on.
- History: Is this going on long? Has anything been installed or deleted? - Are there error messages?
- What steps have you tried already to solve the issue.
- Anything unusual about your set up? Or how you use iPhoto?
Anything else you can think of that might help someone understand the problem you have.

Firefox was working fine, I closed it and later it would not open at all. I've uninstalled and reinstalled and it will now open. I've followed all the directions and all I get is the crash reporter when I try to open firefox. It does not open at all. HELP

I'm using XP sp3, fully patched with the current version of firefox 3. 6.12. I have 4 gb memory and a 250 gb hard drive. Most of which is all free, so I have lots of memory and hard drive space. I was using firefox and everything was working fine. I shut it down and when I went back later, it would not open at all. I've uninstalled and reinstalled, renamed the user acct, followed all directions I could find and firefox will not open. I've run all kinds of scans on my computer for viruses or malware and found nothing. Everytime I try to open firefox, I get the crash reporter and it will not open at all. Why does the color change when I open a warm image in Photoshop CS6?

Whenever I open a warm color image in Photoshop CS6, the color of the image automatically changes? Please see the attached screenshots below.
What is the solution to this problem? Please Help.

There is no "problem" to "fix". A raw file is just the data captured by the sensor, not yet an image. To produce a useful image it needs to be processed in a raw converter, either automatically in-camera or with a standalone converter (ACR).
The camera LCD shows you an in-camera processed jpeg, according to the camera manufacturer's idea of how the raw data should be interpreted. There is nothing inherently "correct" about this, and a lot of the original data have been thrown away in the process.
ACR doesn't make any assumptions about how the final image should look. It shows you a neutral starting point, with default settings to preserve as much of the original data as possible. The rest is up to you. You're not supposed to just accept the defaults. The sliders are there for a reason.
You can change the ACR defaults at any time if you come up with settings that are more to your taste.

I'm so sick of the color wheel! Just opening the finder takes far too long. Very Annoyed! Suggestions?

First, back up all data immediately, as your boot drive might be failing.
There are a few other possible causes of generalized slow performance that you can rule out easily.
Reset the System Management Controller.
If you have many image or video files on the Desktop with preview icons, move them to another folder.
If applicable, uncheck all boxes in the iCloud preference pane.
Disconnect all non-essential wired peripherals and remove aftermarket expansion cards, if any.
Check your keychains in Keychain Access for excessively duplicated items.
Boot into Recovery mode, launch Disk Utility, and run Repair Disk.
If you're booting from an aftermarket SSD, see whether there's a firmware update for it.
Otherwise, take the steps below when you notice the problem.
Step 1
Launch the Activity Monitor application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Activity Monitor in the icon grid.
Select the CPU tab of the Activity Monitor window.
Select All Processes from the menu in the toolbar, if not already selected.
Click the heading of the % CPU column in the process table to sort the entries by CPU usage. You may have to click it twice to get the highest value at the top. What is it, and what is the process? Also post the values for % User, % System, and % Idle at the bottom of the window.
Select the System Memory tab. What values are shown in the bottom part of the window for Page outs and Swap used?
Next, select the Disk Activity tab. Post the approximate values shown for Reads in/sec and Writes out/sec (not Reads in and Writes out.)
Step 2
If you have more than one user account, you must be logged in as an administrator to carry out this step.
Launch the Console application in the same way you launched Activity Monitor. Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar.
Select the 50 or so most recent entries in the log. Copy them to the Clipboard (command-C). Paste into a reply to this message (command-V). You're looking for entries at the end of the log, not at the beginning.
When posting a log extract, be selective. Don't post more than is requested.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Important: Some personal information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting. That should be easy to do if your extract is not too long.

In the Desktop Manager > Sync > Configuration, make sure the calendar options are set to override Outlook.
Set it also to notify you of the changes, so you will have to approve any changes.
