All i see is a grey screen
im stressing out.. i restart my powerbook and a blank grey screen comes up. i searched this forum and saw a few posts mention disc warrior..what exactly is that?
anything i can do to get my powerbook running?!
desperatly in need of help!

2 real quick questions and a comment or 2.
First where did you get your copy of Tiger???
Did you by chance have all peiphreals unplugged before your upgrade and did you verify and repair permissions before and after Installing TTiger.
Did you attempt to turn your computer clear OFF, and wait 4 or 5 minutes before restart.
This problem sometimes occurs when 3rd party Ram is installed that isn't compatible.and loose ram not seated properly,
DiskWarrior is a very good Utility used to fix problems that occur as well as a troubleshooting software.
Also this problem can occur from some 3rd party software that will cause conflicts,
Some users have reported systems locking using some 3rd party Virus Software as well.
After you turn your computer back on see if it will boot back up. The more I sit here and think on it I am leaning toward a copy of Tiger that was machine specfic, and not a Complete Retail Version. Hope something here has helped..Don

I just opened up my MacBook Pro after a few days of not using it and it was frozen. I turned it off and back on and all I see is a white screen, there was a file with a question mark flashing for a bit but I can't do anything, please help me!!

you have a 13-inch Mid 2012 MacBook Pro. It’s modern enough that it supports booting into Recovery mode. To do so, hold down a Command key and the R key as you start up. It should eventually show a Mac OS X Utilities menu. Select Disk Utility from that menu; when the Disk Utility window appears, select the bootable volume from the left-hand side of the window. (It’s typically called “Macintosh HD”.) When the volume is selected, some buttons will appear on the right-hand side. If it’s not greyed out, press the Verify Disk button; if it is greyed out, or if it reports on errors that it found, press the Repair Disk button. Once the verification/repair is completed, exit Disk Utility and select Restart from the Apple menu; that will restart your MacBook Pro in its normal mode. With luck, that will be enough to get you to your normal login screen, rather than the white screen. -
Help I tried opening my Mac book pro after shutting it down but it won't open and all I get is a grey screen and a mo Jong mouse but nothin else so can u help me ??

- Disconnect, test peripheral devices and network cables
- Perform a Safe Boot
- Reset the NVRAM / PRAM
- Start from your Mac OS X Install disc; use Disk Utility
- Check your cables and power source
- Remove third-party RAM and internal hardware
- Perform an Archive and Install installation of Mac OS X
- Perform an Erase and Install installation of Mac OS X as a last resort

I cannot turn on my MacBook pro. When I turn it on all I get is a grey screen with a grey spinning thing under the apple. Can anyone help?

Reinstall Snow Leopard without erasing the drive
1. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your Snow Leopard Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior and/or Tech Tool Pro to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
2. Reinstall Snow Leopard
If the drive is OK then quit DU and return to the installer. Proceed with reinstalling OS X. Note that the Snow Leopard installer will not erase your drive or disturb your files. After installing a fresh copy of OS X the installer will move your Home folder, third-party applications, support items, and network preferences into the newly installed system.
Download and install Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1.

The problem began after a recent Firefox update. Occasionally, when I try to open a new Firefox window, all I get is a grey screen with a tiny section of my homepage visible in the top left corner of the screen. NOTE: Firefox stores all of these aborted attempts, as, whenever I close it and then re-open it, the first time I open a new window it automatically opens all of the windows that had originally failed to open.

== on or about June 26, 2010Got the exact same problem aswell, finally fed up with it now as i just started up firefox and 14 new windows opened because of this bug, luckily my computer can handle them but someone with a slower processor it would have been a nightmare, needs fixing ASAP.

I have a problem with my iPhone. The default wallpapers are not showing up. All I see is a black screen. Can someone tell me what has to be done?Go to the Home screen with one press of the home button. Then double press the Home button. When the Dock raises, tap and hold one of the app icons untill they all start jiggling and a red X appears. Tap the red X on the video app to quit the app.

Several days ago some of the links in my Apple Mail messages stopped working. Specifically, the links going to some variation of "response beacon" don't work. All I see is a blank screen. Does anyone have any idea how to fix this?
* "Clear the Cache": Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"
* "Remove the Cookies" from sites that cause problems: Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
* Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

Iphone does n't restart and all i see is a blank screen (black screen). I have tried recharging the battrey but no success
I rebooted my computer and now it's working.
When in doubt, reboot, but in my frustration this afternoon it didn't occur to me.

I get frustrated with Apple too, but if you've spent any time on an Android device, you would know how lucky we are to have an Apple product. The interface is awful and there are no apps, even to get stuck.

I was able to use the numbers program before. Now all I see is the blue screen with the new updates. How do I fix this. I have already downloaded the new version of Icloud & open office $ installed.
Are you talking about doing this on your iphone? Or something else?

I bought my 6 plus last night decided to upgrade the IOS 8 like they suggest and now all I see is a white screen with the apple sign in the middle with an occasional flashing red screen. Did my new phone seriously just crash? What do I do now? I left it overnight with the white screen, thinking maybe it'll go away and needs time to upgrade. Woke up this morning, nope still white screen. Very disappointed with Apple. I was so excited to get my phone and can't even use it right now.
First turn the iPhone off and back on and see if it works. If that doesn't work then do a Reset by holding the Sleep / Wake Button (The Power Button) and the Home Button at the same time until the white Apple Logo appears, the release both Buttons and wait until a Full Reset occurs. The iPhone 6 should come back to your Lock-Screen. If that doesn't work then you could connect the iPhone 6 via the Lightning Cable to a Computer with a Current Version of iTunes. Then open iTunes on the Computer and wait until your see a Button that represents your attached iPhone and click on it. This should bring up a Summary Screen on the Computer within iTunes. At that point your can choose Update Software if an Update is available or Restore the iPhone to Factory Settings / New In The Box, or you could try to Restore from your Backup if a current Backup had already been saved from a previous iPhone.
If you don't have a computer with iTunes and you can get the iPhone back on, then go to Settings>General>Software Update and see if the iPhone is still on iOS 8.0 or if it is now on iOS 8.0.2 -
My Macbook Pro won't start up. All I get is a grey screen showing a grey folder bearing a question mark. Help please!
The folder with the question mark indicates that the machine is unable to find a bootable volume on startup. This is typically caused by one of three things:
1.) The internal HD has failed or is failing and needs to be replaced
2.) There is significant directory damage to the volume that requires repairing in order to boot
3.) Some other internal component failure between the HD and logic board
I'd ranked them in the order that is most common (from my personal experience). Boot to the OS X Recovery tool and attempt to repair the startup volume. If that fails or the drive is not detected it's usually a tell tale sign of a failed HD. -
