All I want is a phone that works!

So, I am now on my 5th palm pre in less than 6 months. Everytime I get it repaired/exchanged, there is a new issue with the new phone. Last time, the phone wouldn't go silent...EVER... and the phone would light up and vibrate at its own will. So, I exchanged it last night just as the sprint store is closing. When i left the store, the doors locked behind me and I attempt a phone call only to find out that I can hear the person on the phone, but they can't hear me. This is how it came out of the box...literally within one minute of it being activated. I am going back to sprint today to try number 6 our and see how that works for me. My question is though, WHEN number 6 doesn't work, can I just tellspring that I don't want the phone anymore because, well, it does not and has not worked? Can I demand that they upgrade me? All I want is a phone that is reliable. Palm has clearly not been a good choice for that. I actually had the Palm Treo before and went through 4 of those. I thought that maybe it was me up until the last two replacements where the phone came out of the box not working...any insight would be greatly appreciated

The only phones that work directly with iTunes, other than the iPhone, are a few of Motorola's phones such as certain models of the RAZR, ROKR, and SLVR. You'll want to check with Motorola or ask Verizon which models are iTunes-equipped.
Other phones may be able to use iTunes tracks even though they may not be able to sync directly from iTunes. Any phone that can mount on a Mac as a normal hard drive and accept tracks dragged to the phone should work, assuming that the tracks are in a supported format (MP3 almost always is supported, AAC a bit less common. Copy-protected tracks from the iTunes Store require an iTunes-equipped phone). There may be phones that are compatible with Mac and have their own software, but I'm can't mention any specific models.

I have the student edition, so he can't install it on his MacBook (I'm sure you get 2 or 3 codes with the full price version?)
I'd like to get After Effects and Premiere Pro. So I thought we might as well get the Production Premium package. But I'm wondering, will it work if he installs Photoshop then lets me install After Effects and Premiere Pro? My friend said you can select which ones to install.
We'd be getting the Student edition, meaning that you only get one code.
Edit: Just read a few things. How about, I de-activate Photoshop on my Mac. Give it to my brother and then install Photoshop again from the Production Premium box? Will that work?

Forgetting about how many activations you get with any Adobe product, you still only get one license. A secondary activation on non-student versions is only for use by the original licensee for a second system that they are personally using, such as a notebook used for travel versus a desktop system used in the office.
In absolutely no situation may a student or educational edition of any Adobe software be given, lent, sold, or in any other way transferred to anyone other than the original purchaser who qualified at time of purchase for a student or educational edition.
If your brother wants a copy of Photoshop, he needs to get his own copy. If we qualifies as a student, he is of course welcome to buy a student edition from an authorized Adobe reseller or via Adobe's web site. Note that your brother will be required to provide actual evidence of his eligibility for this discount. (See Adobe's web site for information about these requirements.) Otherwise, your brother should purchase a standard, retail copy of Photoshop.

Looking for a skype phone that works via pc

I currently own the philips voip 321, great phone for the past couple of years, but a bit dated, basically im looking for a phone that has the same feature. I can use my computer to call somebody, and just pick up the phone and talk to them, or if somebody calls me the phone rings and i can enter pick it up using the phone or the pc.
Most of the new skype phones are just internet based without the need for computers, which is great, but i prefer the computer to phone routine, are there phones like this around?

All I wanted was a phone for my kid. Now thinking about switching despite ETF.

So after much discussion, I decide to let my son have a smartphone to replace his dumb phone. I was on the fence about leaving him on my Verizon plan, or going prepaid with another carrier. I'd decided to keep him on my plan, for the convenience, and the network is good. June 26, we went to the Verizon store (the kid has been counting the days). They don't have the Samsung S4 mini, and they can't give it to us for the same price as the web site, so the woman there convinces me to try to order the phone over the web for in-store pickup. She really wants a sale, I guess. We try and try, and finally give up. We had to have been in the store an hour. Kid is disappointed, but I figure, I'll just order it from the web site when I get home.
It doesn't work, doesn't work, doesn't work, and FINALLY June 27 (Friday) I am able to get through the order! But no option to pick it up in the store. Too bad, but they promise me they'll ship it overnight, so it's cool. This was getting on towards evening, so I wasn't expecting to get it Saturday, and I didn't. But I didn't get it Monday, either. I checked on the web, and it still says the order is processing. So I call. I wait on hold for quite a long time, finally speak to someone, she's not sure it it's shipped, so I ask if I can pick it up in the store if it hasn't. She puts me on hold for quite a long time, and then comes back and says, it has shipped, via FedEx, so no, you can't pick it up in the store. You'll get it tomorrow.
Today, TUESDAY, I checked the site, and got a "still processing" message, and then finally a message that it's shipped, with a FedEx number that FedEx doesn't recognize. Got home, no phone, no slip from FedEx that they left the package somewhere, FexEx site says the number isn't valid. So I call. I was on hold for at least 40 minutes, because they're experiencing "higher than normal call volume" (yeah, I'll bet), and WHILE I'M ON HOLD I get an email that my order has shipped, via USPS, with another tracking number that isn't valid. Finally I get a human, who takes my info, and puts me on hold for a long time. He comes back and says, your order has shipped, via USPS, and he doesn't know when I'll get it.
So my question is, what the HELL is going on with you guys? I've never really had an issue with you, I have been a customer for about 10 years. But this is ridiculous. Why would someone tell me my order had shipped when it hadn't? What is even the point of that? Why do you say you're going to ship my order overnight and then not do it? Not even process my order for days? Not try to fix it when I call and you realize it's all messed up? I'm so mad, I might go with Ting, they'll give me a credit for your early termination fee. It's the Sprint network, but I've got friends who swear by it. I'm so mad.

I was in the exact same situation. I completed the order online, waited five days, and eventually called them back to be told that my order was still processing. I told them to cancel it, and I would retry. I ordered it again the next week, and it all happened again. They offered to escalate it and have it processed manually, but it could take another 48 hours. I told them to forget it.
The next week, I activated a single line on my own account. It worked flawlessly. I ordered around 4:00 PM, and it showed up around 4:00 PM the next day. The difference was that I activated a single line on a new account, as opposed to activating another line on another account.
It was a headache, and believe me, I know how you feel. Verizon representatives are more of a headache than they are actual help. Their hands are always tied, and everything has to be escalated.

Bluetooth enabled home phone that works

The only reason why I keep a land line in my home is because I need to be able to answer and hear my phone ringing regardless of where I am in my home and I do not want to wear a bluetooth headset all of the time or carry my iPhone with me all of the time.
I have tried the following product:

but it just doesn't work very well. It simply cannot make a reliable connection to my iPhone when I return home. I believe it is because I do use my bluetooth headset in my home on occasion and when I do, the connection is lost to that ATT product.
I was wondering if anyone has experienced this problem and has found a good solution.

The problem is the same as many others are having on this site and that apple is ignoring. Iphone5 bluetooth will not answer incoming calls - in a Honda2012 CRV many other makes of cars. Honda says it is not compatable in answering calls and they have contacted Apple - Iphone 4 is compatable but the I5 isn't because Apple changed somehting and it no longer works,
After much work, research on this site and othesr - we are still waiting for a software update that will correct the problem. Isn't happening and we are stuck with two phone s that don't perform when you are traveling. Apple should be better then this

If you want to use multiple devices - move to imap, I would even say "exchange", but Google does not support free exchange anymore, since January of that year. So Ironically Icloud or Hotmail would be my choices right now.

IPhone 4: I can't find all the songs on my phone that show up as on the phone.

I wanted to put 4 meditation CDs on my IPhone 4. I finally managed to get them all copied and loaded. When I plug my phone into my computer these CDs with all the tracks show up but I cannot find them on my phone anywhere. I'm at wits end and ready to throw my IPhone 4 through the window. I really, really need those meditation tracks.

Since the songs have the cloud download button, it means they are not currently on your iPhone. They are capable of being downloaded to your iPhone if you choose, but they are not there right now.

3g fails after applying carrier settings to a phone that worked since day 1

Please can anyone advise me what to do. I am travelling and have been using my iphone extensively on the Spanish 3G network. My iphone is from Belgium and is unlocked (fully legal as Belgium iphones are not locked to any vendor) and when i am in Spain i insert my Spanish SIM and change my internet APN settings and bingo everything works just great. However this morning i accepted an update from apple itunes for carrier settings for the vodafone network in Spain, At that point i was using my iphone in tethered mode for the internet (the hotel room fee's being a rip off).
Now my iphone claims "Could Not Activate Cellular Data Network" and i can not access any settings any more to change the APN!
Jeez i wish i hadn't accepted the update. of course there is NO backup in the backup directory, it seams apple doesn't think we need a backup. How can i get my phone to the normal state where i can access the settings for network like APN, MMS etc?

A loss of the APN setting should mean the carrier update has installed the correct APN, so the setting is not needed. To undo the carrier setting, you could try deleting any files in:
~Library/iTunes/iPhone Carrier Support
then Restoring the iPhone.

Buying new printer - want to get one that works with TC

I've seen plenty of posts about printers that don't work with TC, and a list of obsolete printers that do work.
Before I buy a new laser printer, can anyone recommend one that will work properly?

HP2300 seems to be obsolete, at least here in the UK.
I've currently got 2 printers:
Kodak AIO 5300 won't work at all - plenty of posts about this printer not working.
Samsung ML-1510 laser - some doubt about this one. I'll try it later today.
I suppose that it'd be better to get a proper network printer and connect it directly to my Netgear router. How good are Macs at working with "proper" network printers, via ethernet connection?
