All icloud email over 20 days old is gone!

For some reason - all my iCloud inbox mail prior to the start of April is gone?
It email that is not even a month old, perhaps 20 days. Sent items is fine - loads of mail in there going back months. There is nothing in Trash, Junk, Archive??
Is this a known issue?
I've connected to the iCloud web site, my iphone, my ipad, my mAC and all show the same 'small number' of mail.
And no - I did not delete it! and even if I had - it should have been in my trash surely??
Help!

Hi wwwXpert.
Thanks for the response, do appreciate, but did state in the post that this is the case from ' The iCloud web site, my phone, my pad, my mac etc. I work in IT and know how frustrating it can be when people don't give all the info.
I've checked the mail setting on the phone and it states it should be showing '200 messages' yet there are only 119 left in the iClound inbox, so not even getting this far.
I can confirm that the 'iCloud Backup' is NOT turned on, but like I say - I don't need to backup the phone - it's on my Mac and Pad also - why would this be required?

  • How do I stop Thunderbird from erasing all my emails over a mont old.h

    I have Thunderbird on my office (Windows XP Professional) and personal (Windows XP home) desk top computers and my lap top (Windows 8.1) My office and lap top retain all my emails in my inbox until I deal with them but my personal desk top deletes them automatically after one month. I have the same carrier - Telus - on all three. My email address for my lap top and personal desk top are the same and as a result I receive the same emails on both and can obviously read them on both. This has been a continuing problem since I concurrently switched to Telus and hooked up the free lap top I received from them. Thanks, Ray Drabik.

    When I click on the tools menu and "account settings" all I receive in a box is my account identity. There is no reference to "disk space" or "retention settings" whatsoever. Thanks anyway.

  • HT201317 My phone was stolen and I lost all my photos. Is there any way I can get them back through iCloud as there were lots over 30 days old?

    My iPhone was stolen and I have lost all my photos as some were over 30 days old. Is there anyway I can get these back as they were on iCloud originally but i didn't put them onto my pc! :o( please can somebody help me get these back.

    Unfortunately iCloud only stores photos for 30 days, to give all your devices a chance to download them. After this period they are deleted from Photo Stream and can not be retrieved.

  • HT201317 Is there a way to get photos that are over 30 days old onto icloud (and then to my windows computer through photostream)?

    I was wondering if there was a way to get the photos that are over 30 days old into my photostream on my computer. My iPhone 5 has 1,000 photos in the photostream but only the ones that are less than 30 days old go on to my computer. I can't find any setting on icloud either- just yes/no photostream and then my photostream and the share option. I want to do this so I can view my older photos on my computer so I can save them in my computer's library.
    Thanks!

    No. PhotoStream only stores a maximum of 1000 photos for up to 30 days as stated in all descriptions of the service. You're supposed to download photos you want to keep within 30 days of them going to PhotoStream.
    PhotoStream is not a permanent storage solution.

  • IPad deleting single events over 30 days old

    I just noticed tonight that my iPad has been deleting non-recurring events over 30 days old. I'm syncing over MobileMe, and all the old events remain there and in my Mac iCal calendars just fine, so the data is OK. However, syncing with MobileMe will not return the old events to my iPad's calendar.
    I've tried turning off Calendars for MobileMe syncing in the Settings area, and then turning it back on to refresh/restore, but it still only brings in all old recurring events and non-recurring new events within the last 30 days.
    When syncing with iTunes, there's an item in the Info tab area to force a push of the calendars on the Mac to the iPad, and an option to limit how far back you want the sync to grab the old data. I've tried that, and did successfully get the old data back onto my iPad, however, now I have multiple/multicolored Home calendars cluttering my iPad. I can selectively turn some off, but that doesn't resolve the issue, since it's a one-time event, and over the next 30 days new non-recurring events are going to be daily deleted. Additionally, since I merged the Home calendars when it asked me to decide what to do, I now have multiple Home calendars listed in iTunes which duplicates what gets copied every time if I choose to do this again. I can't find any way to clean up the iTunes bug, since it's clearly not just re-reading my iCal events, which remain OK.
    Is anyone else observing this calendar behavior with their iPad? My iPhone 4's old data is all there, as it's supposed to be, so this issue may be resolved down the road with an iOS update for the iPad. I can't find any setting to assure my MobileMe syncing brings in all my old non-recurring events (which I need for on-the-go checks back on old events).
    I guess I'm just looking for anyone else who can confirm their non-recurring events are disappearing after 30 days.
    Thanks for listening...

    On your iPad, go to settings and then Mail, Contacts, Calendars and see what you have the sync option set for under calendars. You have different options to choose from, and I would think that yours is set for 1 month. To get rid of all the duplicate calendars on the iPad, just turn off mobile me syncing, which will delete all the calendars on the iPad, and then turn it back on and you should be good to go.

    I transfered all my music over from my old to my new laptop but my playlists are not there. How do i get my playlists?

    You need to transfer the iTunes library, not just the music.
    Copy the entire /Music/iTunes/ folder from old computer to new computer.
    Launch iTunes.
    This is all you need to do

  • I am moving POP3 emails (around 100,000) to an IMAP address. Should it take so long to copy/move all my emails over? Is there a better way?

    I work for a company who want all their POP3 accounts switched to IMAP. There are around 5 accounts with over 20,000 emails with HUGE attachments (CAD and SolidWorks 3D Designs) and a lot more with only 100-500 emails. It seems I will have to manually copy all the emails into the new inbox/sentbox/archives but, as you can imagine, it takes longer than the office opening hours to complete. It's roughly moving 4,000 emails per day. Are there any plugins I could use or should I soldier on with my current method?
    Many thanks,
    Josh

    Trying to move all those emails into an IMAP mail account means uploading them back to the server, this may have the effect of changing all the dates to the date you uploaded them.
    I can think of a couple of options.
    '''1. Move emails into 'Local folders' and delete the pop mail account.'''
    These emails will not be on the server, they will be on your computer, but you can still access them via the same Profile under Local Folders. You can create a new IMAP mail account in the same Profile. So both old Pop emails and new IMAP emails can be seen in the same Profile.
    If you download the addon 'ImportExporttool', you can move all whole folder and create a backup at the same time.
    importExporttool addon:
    * https://freeshell.de//~kaosmos/mboximport-en.html
    * right click on folder
    * select 'ImportExporttools' > Export Folder
    * select where to save but not in Thunderbird.
    then rename the saved file if it is a default folder name; eg: if it was Inbox to OldInbox. This will also mean you have a backup of that file.
    In Thunderbird select the folder where you want the file to be imported.
    * right click on folder
    * select 'ImportExporttools' >Import mbox file
    * select 'Import directly one or more mbox files and click on OK (As your files may be large, I would do this one file at a time)
    * then select the saved file and click on Open
    When all folders and emails have been successfully moved and you can see them in Local Folders, you can remove the Pop mail account.
    * Tools > Account Settings
    * select the pop mail account
    * click on 'Account actions'
    * select 'Remove Account'
    * click on OK
    '''2. Keep the Pop mail account, but stop it from checking for new mail, downloading etc.'''
    This means all folder and emails stay in the same place, but the mail account is not actively connecting to the server. You can create a new IMAP mail account in the same Profile. So both old Pop emails and new IMAP emails can be seen in the same Profile.
    The downside of this is that if you later click on 'GetMail' whilst looking at those emails in that account, it will attempt to connect to server, discover no password and may prompt for one. Or if you click on 'Get all new messages', it will include the account.
    When you want to Write a new message and at the time you were viewing those folders, the email address using that server will also still be available, now if the email address is the same as the IMAP account, this could be confusing especially if one appears to prompt for a password.
    This may be irritating if you keep doing it, hence why moving emails to Local Folders may be preferable.
    Tools > Account Settings > Server Settings for the mail account
    under 'server settings'
    * uncheck all of the following.
    * 'check for new messages at startup'
    * 'check for new messages every xx minutes'
    * 'Automatically download new messages'
    * 'Leave messages on the server'
    under 'Message storage'
    * uncheck 'empty Deleted folder on exit'
    click on OK
    Then remove the saved/stored password - if you instructed TB to do this.
    * Tools > Options > Security > Passwords tab
    * click on 'Saved Passwords'
    * click on 'Show Passwords'
    * highlight both mailbox and smtp passwords for that pop mail account
    * click on 'Remove' and then click on 'Close'
    * click on OK to save changes to options.
    '''3. Create a new Profile for the IMAP emails.'''
    Disable the Pop mail account as described in (2) above, but this time you create a new Profile and then create the new IMAP mail account in the new Profile.
    This means that you can still see the old emails but you have to swap Profile to see them and remember to never create a new Write message in the Profile containing the old Pop messages.
    Creating another Profile:
    * https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/using-multiple-profiles
    From the desktop:
    Move your mouse pointer to the lower-left corner of the Desktop screen, right-clicking, and selecting Run in the Quick Access menu.
    Enter the following in the Windows 'Run' box (you should substitute the actual path if you installed it in another place):
    enter all of what is written below, include the "" and the space-P
    '''"C:\Program Files\Mozilla Thunderbird\thunderbird.exe" -P'''
    This will open Profile Manager.
    You can now create a new Profile.
    If you want Profile Manager to ask you each time, which Profile to open on start up, do not select 'Don't ask at startup'.
    If you select 'Don't ask at startup' it will open on the last used Profile by default.
    '''Make a shortcut icon to the Profile Manager.'''
    If you have multiple Profiles, then you may find it much easier to create a shortcut to Profile Manager on your desktop.
    First close Thunderbird.
    * From the desktop, open 'Computer'
    * Select the OS(C:) drive as this is the usual place where Thunderbird is installed.
    * then open 'program files' folder.
    * then open 'Mozilla Thunderbird' folder
    * look for thunderbird.exe application
    * right click and select 'create shortcut'
    it will say cannot create short here do you want it placed on the desktop, say yes.
    then located the new 'Thunderbird shortcut on your desktop.
    * right click and select rename and type 'Thunderbird Profile Manager' or similar.
    * Then right click on the shortcut and choose 'Properties'
    * look at the 'Target'.
    * It will say: eg: "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Thunderbird\thunderbird.exe" (enclosed in double quoation marks)
    * you need to add a space followed by -P (dash and capital P)
    * so that it now says:
    ''' "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Thunderbird\thunderbird.exe" -P'''
    * click on apply and then OK
    You should be able to now use the shortcut as quick access to Profile Manager.

    I seem to have lost all previous events over 30days old on my calendar on ipad2

  • How do I delete all ICloud emails at once?

    It's ridiculous how difficult it is to find an answer to this problem. How do I delete ALL of my iCloud emails from my inbox on my iPad at once? I already know how to delete individual emails, but there is no "delete all" option anywhere under the edit screen. Apple.com's answer was to click on the first one and shift click on the last one. HELLO!!! There's no way to shift-click on an iPad in that screen. Crimony.

    Hey Koyster,
    Great question. Utilizing iCloud.com, we may be able to purge these emails in a much faster way:
    iCloud: Delete email
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH2651
    Delete messages
    - On your Mac, Shift-click to select multiple adjacent messages or Command-click to select multiple nonadjacent messages.
    - On your Windows computer, Shift-click to select multiple adjacent messages or Control-click to select multiple nonadjacent messages.
    Thanks,
    Matt M.

  • MBP C2D: Kernel Panics all over (11 days old)

    Hi,
    my freshly arrived MBP C2D 15'' is a bit nervous.
    It panics a lot!
    I use it for 11 days now and got about 25 kernel panics, about 15 of it yesterday. Usualy while doing really simple stuff, even while doing nothing(!), like reading a webpage or a mail (not clicking, scrolling or doing anything).
    Worst case I had only safari and adium as active applications.
    It says "unresolved kernel trap" in the panic.log.
    It even hang on bootup, about one second after pushing the button. It than paniced with "no driver for this platform: acpi". It took me several trys, booting windows, resetting pram and finally starting in save mode to boot again into MacOS X.
    Any ideas?
    BTW: I have an uneven backlight too, but it isn't worth the effort to send it back.
    MBP C2D 15'' Mac OS X (10.4.8)

    They surely didn't do an 'Archive and install', cause
    I did not find any backup with old data. (Not that I had left much data to be lost...)
    So at least they did a 'clean and install'.
    Yeah, zeroing out a drive takes time. But long term test do too. So does a MLB replacement. So I leave it up to the Support do decide if its the best (or first) thing to do. They are the experts, aren't they?
    OK, Apple could reproduce my errors and they changed the MLB. And your advice is that I should have no "reason to suppose that this point that you have anything but a software issue". OK. Your opinion.
    I can't recall if all panics happend with the AC adapter pluged in or not. But I got them pluged in to power outlets several hundred kilometers appart. So if it was about power fluctuations, they should be random an minimal, and well within spec.
    "Apple can only be responsible for so much"
    Yes. They are responsible for delivering to me a product (both hard- and software) which fulfils any advertised properties including anything from common practice.
    An advertised property is "works out of the box". Which means to me, I don't have to zero out my HD and re-install my OS just to use it.
    Something from common practice is, that I can install third party software. Apple is not responsible for that software, but (at least during the one-year waranty) I'm not the one who has to prove which software causes an error. (Of course they will make me pay, if they prove it was the third party software)
    Another thing from common practice is, that a computer has to be reliable to a certain degree. In my opinion this is clearly more than a week. If this is longer than they are willing to wait to reproduce the error: not my problem.
    I just have to prove the error exists. I don't have to make the error reproducable by them.
    I'm sorry if all this sounded harsh to you. But I'm a little bit fed up with the situation. It's not that cheap to by a Mac. All I wan't is to use what I have bought.

  • My calendar deletes all events over 30 days old?

    I have been trying to get my calendar to save all past events, not just 30 days. How can I get-r-done?

    Hi bagettymoseslake,
    Welcome to the Support Communities!
    You can change the settings for your Calendar to Sync All Events:
    Calendar settings - iPhone
    http://help.apple.com/iphone/7/#/iph3d11102c
    Calendar settings
    Several settings in Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars affect Calendar and your calendar accounts. These include:
    Syncing of past events (future events are always synced)
    Alert tone played for new meeting invitations
    Default calendar for new events
    Default time for alerts
    Calendar time zone support, to show dates and times using a different time zone
    Which day starts the week

  • HT201320 How do I set up my iCloud email account on an OLD iPhone w/ OS4.X?

    Hey everyone,
    My iPhone 4S got stolen, and I don't qualify for an upgrade for one more month.  So I've reverted to my old 3G iPhone.  The rep at ATT told me NOT to upgrade the OS - that it would make this thing run slower than molasses.  SO, I've only synced the super important stuff and am operating under OS 4.2.1.  However, when I go in the Mail section to set up my ME account and calendar, the only option is MobileMe.  I gave MobileME my iCloud credentials, and all it does is allow me to turn in Find My Phone.  It does not add my mail, contacts or calendar.  Does anyone know how to do so?

    You could go to icloud.com on your computer, then download your iCloud calendar as an .ics file as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4910 (under Calendar...icloud.com Calendar), then import this to a supported program on your computer such as Outlook or Mac iCal (if you have one) and sync it to your phone using iTunes; or if you don't have a supported program, import it to an external service such as Google Calendar (see http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/30834/add-an-ical-or-.ics-calendar-to-google-cale ndar/) and sync it to your phone using a gmail exchange account (as explained here: http://support.google.com/mail/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=138740).
