All in one as a network printer

I'm going to purchase an airport extreme and just wondered if using a HP 5510 as a network printer will I still be able to scan in documents ect?

Just an FYI, some of the newer HP AIO printers support scanning through the network. My CM1017 does, but not through the USB port on the Airport Extreme, you have to use a network connection.

  • How to install All-In-One software with network printer?

I plugged my 7310xi into my Linksys WRT54G router. In Windows 7 64-bit I found the printer, installed the default drivers, and it's printing happily via the network.
But I need to install the HP All-In-One software if I want more advanced functions like scanning to my computer.
Downloaded the software from the web. During installation I get to the part where it asks me to choose how the printer connects to the computer. I select "through the network," click next, and it just keeps on kicking me back to this screen and I can't proceed. Any ideas?
    Here's the error:
    Now Launching=X:\hpzdui40.exe -I XXX -f X:\DIVins??.DAT
    fail to load library X:\hpzscb01.dll
    CNetworkUIPlugInApp::InitInstance fail to initialize sacabod. Result = o;
    GetLastError = 193
RUN: Driver UI Plug-In exits returning 50
    Exit code=50
I've set it to run in Vista compatibility mode and Run as Admin.

I had exactly the same problem with Windows 7 64-bit and HP Photosmart 2610xi. All you need to do is right click on the installation program, go to properties, go to compatibility mode, select Windows Vista SP2 and optionally check run as administrator. It worked after that.

  • HP Photosmart C4380 All-in-one won't network print

I ran the test, and my wireless radio is not working. i just wanted to know my options and where i stand.
is it possible to fix or do i have to contact hp etc? I bought it sometime in 09, so it shud be within warranty if i can find it.
    thanks ,

First I would reset the printer.  Turn it off, unplug power from the back of the printer (not the wall), wait 30 seconds, plug in, turn on.
    Now reset the Network Settings:
    1. Press the Wireless button on the front of the HP All-in-One.
    2. Press the button next to the icon on the display until Restore Network Defaults
is highlighted, and then press the button next to OK.
    3. Confirm that you want to restore the network defaults.
Run the Wireless Network Test again.
If you registered your printer, HP will have the purchase and warranty date.

  • HP Deskjet all-in-one F4440 will not print

My HP Deskjet all-in-one- F4440 will not print.  I have put in a new color and a new black cartridge.  It clanks loudly when it moves back and forth.  Finally it stops and then pulls plain paper through as though printing on it - does this two or three times.  then it pulls plain paper halfway through and stops.  I have to tug and carefully pull halfway paper back out towards front to remove.

    Hi there,
Could you provide the community with a little more information to help narrow troubleshooting? Are there any error messages or flashing lights? What operating system are you using?

  • Any suggestions for an all-in-one "cable modem router print server" (N)

any suggestions for an all-in-one "cable modem router print server" (N)?

If that's a problem with your cable company, change the company.
If your cable company is not able to provide you with a cable modem which gets you full performance for their service why would you bother with that company or try to make it better than them?
If you subscribe to a 100 Mbit/s service they must be able to provide you with a modem that does 100 Mbit/s and be able to demonstrate you 100 Mbit/s on your cable.
If they are unable to provide you with a modem which does 100 Mbit/s and thus cannot demonstrate that the service they have installed in fact can do 100 Mbit/s but only give you a 50 Mbit/s because that's the best they have, why bother buying yourself a better modem to find out whether or not their service does what it promises or not??
In addition, an integrated device won't get you better performance. On the contrary, consumer devices are generally single CPU (and core) devices. It's usually running some Linux or similar. If a single process gets overloaded it can drag down the performance of the whole device. For instance, let's say there is a bug in the print server software of the router. You print something and it hangs and the print server process on the router runs wild. Now the CPU is fully loaded and the routing performance will go down. If there is a bug in the routing software it will bring down the whole device and you can't even print.
You'll get the best performance if you use dedicated devices because then one device cannot overload another. Get a modem. Get a wireless ethernet router. Get a printer with integrated print server. That's far better.
It's like the all-purpose audio device compared to components...

  • HP ENVY 114 all-in-one d411c and wireless printing.

I have a HP ENVY 114 all-in-one d411c printer connected wirelessly and a HP Pavilion HPE h8-1237 which is also connected wirelessly to my NetGear N750 Wireless Dual Band Gigabit Router.  The problem is that the printer, according to the desktop computer, is constantly going OFFLINE.  I have tried reinstalling printer software, ran the Print and Scan Doctor, etc. with no luck.  I think the problem is with the desktop computer because I also have a HP Pavilion dv7 notebook which is also connected wirelessly and it can print all day long with no problems, never goes OFFLINE.  I don't know what else to do.  I recently upgraded both computers to Windows 8 Pro.  The printer worked fine when I was using Windows 7 Ultimate.  I need some suggestions, Please.  Thank You in advance.

Sounds like you are having issues with your printer going offline? Now is this actually inhibiting your printing? Because if the printer is in sleep mode it will register as offline. If you ARE having issues with printing, then we can check some of the setting on the router. Here are its specs :
    http://reviews.cnet.com/routers/netgear-n750-wireless-dual/4507-3319_7-34467825.html
Here I can see that there are potential hazards, I would recommend contacting Netgear and making sure that the router is broadcasting on the 2.4GHz range, and that it is set for 802.11g and not 802.11n wireless. These could effect your printer's responsiveness.
    Run this diagnostic tool :
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?cc=us&lc=en&dlc=en&docname=c03286146
And as a last bit, you might want to consider setting the printer up with an Ethernet-network connection and seeing if the issue is with the method of communication.
Let me know and I will get right back with you!

  • HP C4385 All In One is the worst printer I've ever bought

I will never buy another HP printer or other HP product for the rest of my life. I purchased a HP C4385 Photosmart All In One printer and it has been absolutely terrible from day one. First when installing it screwed up my LAN so bad that I had to spend hours on a live chat with Lynkys to get my network up and running. HP software would automatically delete my current network to establish its own for the wireless printer connection. After many attempts I gave up on trying to connect the printer wirelessly, which was one of the main reasons I bought this model.
Somehow the printer's software and drivers mysteriously delete themselves because I've had to reinstall the software and drivers around 15-20 times. When I go to use the printer, it will show it as a new device and that I need to install the software and drivers. This isn't a problem with my computer. It doesn't happen with any other device I use- other printers, camera, flash drives, etc. I have downloaded any updates but they do not help.
The monitoring software is constantly running with 3 or 4 HP process running at all times using up my RAM. The alignment is constantly off and when I go to align it gives me another nonsense error message because it doesn't acknowledge the alignment paper.
To top it off, after using about half the ink in a cartridge it won't print anymore because it says the print cartridge is missing or empty when I know its not. I have tried every troubleshooting tip offered and none of them work.
I am sure this will end up in another {Content Removed: no legal discussion permitted} due to faulty equipment knowingly being sold. I don't want my money back, I want the 50 hours I have wasted dealing with all of the {Content Removed: Language Filter Evasion} this printer has caused me.
Thanks a lot HP for selling me a piece of junk device. I used to respect you and the products you sold. Not anymore I will purchase another HP product because of the frustration this one has caused me.

I fully agree with this complaint.  Curiously, I have faced similar problems like him.  Frequently, I have seen the messages like "paper jam ", "Cartridge missing" while there wasn't any paper jam and genuine brand new cartridges were already installed.  My experience is worse than his.  I could hardly use it for more than one week!  What is worse the wireless operation could never be achieved. Now this printer is lying discarded.
It really beats all logic that why should one not be able to scan a document (say -- to save the image on the hard disk for possible future use) even if there was so called paper jam or missing cartridge?
Also, it is virtually impossible to delete any job once you have clicked the button print.  The printer would keep on retaining the job, making the printing of other jobs impossible,  unless perhaps you uninstall it and then re-install!  Why can't HP find a solution to this problem?
I join his sentiments that I would refrain from buying any HP product in future.

  • Can't connect Photosmart 7510e all-in-one C311a to network for updates-new install-Windows 7 32 bit

  • HP Officejet 7410 All-in-One no longer 'automatically' print double sided

After upgrading my PC from Windows XP 32-bit to Windows 7 64-bit my HP Officejet 7410 All-in-One printer no longer prints double-sided automatically.  When sending something to print I am presented with only two options: Print One-Sided or Manually Print on Both Sides.  If I choose the latter I have to manually reload the paper when prompted.  I have tried searching for updates and downloading drivers but nothing  has resolved the problem.  I've even gone into printer properties printing shortcuts and changed the settings in "Print on Both Sides" to 'automatically' and still I am prompted to reload the paper.  It is a real pain when I have to print a very large slide pack especially when the printer decides to pick up two sheets at the same time.  I have spoken to HP and they say my printer is old and they cannot help me.  It is about 8-10 years old.  Any advice would be gratefully received.

    Hello Toosweet
In Printer Preferences make sure the duplexer is enabled. Do you have the full feature software installed?

  • Can't get HP Officejet J6450 All-in-One to scan or print

    Hello!
I have an HP Officejet J6450 All-in-One which I would like to use with my Macbook Pro running OS X 10.6.4. I would prefer a wireless setup. It printed wirelessly up until I tried installing the HP Full Feature Software & Drivers from their website (http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=mp-74787-1 &lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&os=219&product=3635399&sw_lang=)and subsequently deleted them once I realized it did not work. I also did not want to install a bulky and unnecessary set of programs that I do not need.
I went to the System Preferences/Print & Fax and deleted the HP printers that had been added, then I went to Applications/HewlettPackard and clicked on HP uninstall, and uninstalled the program. Since I have experience with Windows (lol), I decided to take the safe route and make sure my HD & permissions had not been corrupted. I put in my OS X install disk that came with my Macbook Pro, rebooted to the disk, went to Disk Utility and Repaired the Permissions (it only had one that it could not fix), repaired the HD (it found a few issues), and then went one more round of Repair Permissions and then HD just to be sure. I rebooted to the HD and ejected the boot disk. I connected the printer via the USB cable.
Then I found this: (http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&softwareitem=mp-7 4787-1&os=219&product=3635399&sw_lang=&docname=c01910186) It says on there that Snow Leopard should have everything I need to scan and print with this printer. However, upon trying the three methods, none worked. Here are the results:
Method One: I get to step 2, select Import from Scanner, and nothing happens. The list that is supposed to be displayed in step 3 never comes.
Method Two: I open the Image Capture app in step 1, but when it comes up, it says "No camera or scanner connected."
Method Three: I get the Print & Fax printer browser opened as in step 3, but cannot move on to step 4 because there is no scan tab.
What can I do to get this to work? I tried contacting HP online chat, but they told me they do not offer support to Mac users on there. I sent them an email through their contact page but you know how that will probably go...
I'm an intermediate computer user, although I'm relatively new to Mac, so be easy on me! I'm scared to break this laptop I've fallen in love with. Many thanks to you all in advance, and my apologies if this has already been answered elsewhere - I was unable to find anything with this particular HP model and situation. I noticed HP does not seem very Mac-friendly!

Is this scanning from the PC and/or from the printer? Did it ever scan previously? Is this connected by USB/wired/wireless?
As far as the software, it would be a good idea to update your software, and I would recommend downloading the latest software at this location:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?product=1153494&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&lang=en&cc=us
Just pick the right operating system, and get the download and run it. That may fix the scanning issue you are having.

  • Can't print on my all-in-one 6413 two consecutive prints.

The printer is connected to a wireless router with a network cable.
I'm printing from a Windows 7 laptop connected wirelessly to the router, no security key only MAC address.
    No problems when surfing.
Every time I send a print or more than one I have to troubleshoot the printer, even when the first print comes OK the second attempt fails and I need to troubleshoot again, turn off/on the printer etc.
Removed and reinstalled driver using the latest version on the internet without luck.
Installed it as a network printer.
After initial install the test page comes out just fine, no problems whatsoever.
Although it supports wireless printing I'm using it as a network printer not a wireless connection.
Any idea what may cause this? Why the initial setting is not saved?

  • HP Photosmart Premium All-in-one c310a - How to print in black and white

I want to print a color pdf file in b&w on my HP Photosmart Premium All-in-one c310a printer. When I go to "features" -> color options -> grayscale -> in the drop down box, there is only one choice - "high quality". There's no "black ink only" choice as I have seen in forums on similar printers.

If you have the full feature drivers installed for this printer and there isn't a Black Ink Only option under Print in Grayscale, then this printer lacks the feature.  Typically the Black Ink Only options follows the drivers for some deskjets and most officejets, because of the office environments they are intended for.  Where as Photosmart printers are more aimed at printing photos.
