All in one computer

Hello,
I wonder if someone can guide me in the righ direction. I like the look of the all in one computers. plus no wires which is great.  Looking for speed, and I play a lot of the Facebook games. What should I be looking for?
Processor that has more than 2 cores? haow much ram and Hard drive?
I was looking at Lenovo, and Gateway brands, All suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks

Hello,
Hope you have considered Entropy's recommendation seriously.  However, if you are insisting on an all in one computer, I see that Michael recommended the HP Touchsmart which you can review is described on the Best Buy site at:
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/HP-Info-Center/HP-TouchSmart-All-In-One/pcmcat152800050003.c?id=pcmcat15...
Let me know if HP's Pre-Sales team can assist with a recommendation which you can still purchase from Best Buy.

  • How to activate a pen tablet on photoshop on a All-in-one computer [touch screen]?

I have a all in one computer touch screen- and I can use a pen tablet right on the screen, it's active- but when I go on PSCS6 and try to use the pen tablet, it is not active onto the screen- where do you go to activate it?? Can you?

That is the question I asked you.  I think you will find that your display only functions as a touch device.   My old Wacom Intuos 3 Tablet was just a tablet device.  My new Intuos 5 Touch is both a Tablet and touch device. When the pen is in close proximity with the tablet surface touch is turned of and it functions as a tablet.  The Wacom device driver has some Touch functions the can be configured to work with Photoshop.  I could configure touch so I could finger paint in Photoshop. Photoshop does not have its own touch support and touch settings.   If you can find a device driver for your displays touch feature that use wintab api. to support a pen interface you may have a chance,

  • I purchased an iMac MC309LL/A model A1311 21.5" All in one computer. I purchased it 8/28/11 and about 2 months ago it started powering down. I called for support and a Apple Customer Support, I did what they said and now it wont turn on at all.

I purchased an iMac MC 309LL/A model A1311 21.5" All in one computer on 8/28/11. The computer stated to shut down on me every once in a while when I was working on it. I called Apple customer support and a rep walked me through deleting all of my cache files saying it was the prooblem. She then had me do a re-install with the installation disc. After doing that she said to turn my computer off then back on and the computer would want to run some updates an to let them run. I was told to call back if there were anymore problems. The computer turned on for a couple minutes then shut down again and won't turn back on at all now. I took it to the Apple store and they told me it was the main board that delivers power to the computer and it whoulld cost about $550 to replace. I have had this computer for 1 1/6 year and hardly use it. My tech told me the same thing happened to his. Doesn't this mean the equipment could be faulty?
Who keeps track of how many of these are having the same problem and when should there be a recall. I have always used Dells at work. The one I have is 6 years old and works great. I have Compaq laptop at home that is almost 7 years old. I have never had a problem like this before and I can't believe that I spent$1300 for a computer that crashed after 1 yr 6 months. What's worse is that it is my first major Apple product other than my iPod Shuffle.

Sorry to hear of your problem, but any hardware in a computer can fail - that includes the hard drive, the logic board, etc, etc. Fortunately, it usually doesn't happen that soon; however, I've read of hard drives failing within 6 months.
So, since you did not purchase the extended Applecare Protection Plan (3 years coverage), you will need to make a decision to repair or sell it as is. I would always purchase 3 year coverage for an all in one or a laptop because repairs are expensive and at least I'd be covered for 3 years.
We can't speculate on whether there should be a recall or not; these forums are for user to user assistance with technical problems. In your case, there is nothing we can help with since you've already gotten a diagnosis.

  • My wireless keyboard and mouse do not work on my All-In-One computer?

Q.: My wireless keyboard and mouse do not work on my All-In-One computer?
A.: If your wireless keyboard and mouse do not work even after changing the batteries, please try re-syncing them by following these steps.
    1. Make sure the computer is on, plug in the USB receiver. Push the button on the USB receiver until it flashes blue.
    2. While the receiver is still flashing, press the red connect button on the keyboard (Make sure the batteries are installed). The USB receiver should stop flashing after pressing the button on the keyboard. It may take up to 8 seconds to sync.
    3. Repeat the same process for the mouse. Push the button on the USB receiver, then press the connect button on the mouse (Make sure the mouse is on).
Note: This applies to all MSI All-In-One computers that include the ES500W wireless keyboard and SW130 mouse.

"This machine has an added 4 USB ports, could this be causing a problem?
It definitely could be the source of the problem. Perhaps the PCI card was bumped loose during shipping?
Have you tried removing the card? That's where I would start.
    Keep us posted.

  • Can I use ASUS VM60-G072R Desktop (like mini Mac) with my iMac all in one computer? I need to use Windows version of QB and I don't want to buy a PC tower or laptop.

I need to use the Windows version of Quickbooks Pro and I don't want to use Parallel or buy a PC tower or laptop. Can I use ASUS VM60-G072R Desktop (like Apple Mini) with my iMac all-in-one computer?

Thank you Kappy. I guess I have to decide to purchase a separate monitor and keyboard for this mini PC computer then. And also find extra space in my office. I'm happy you answered my question so quickly.

  • All in one computer keeps overheating. Now won't turn on

My HP all in one Touchsmart 310 computer has been overheating for the past month. I would shut it down as soon as I hear it (the fan I think) run really loud. Yesterday (July 14th) it was getting loud so I shut it down and I waited for it to cool down. When it was cooled down I went to turn it on and nothing happened. The button didn't light up. I checked the back where the power cord is plugged in and the green light was on showing it was getting power I guess. I read online somewhere to unplug the power cord and hold in the power button for 10 seconds then plug it back in. I did that and the power light flashed a couple of times but the computer didn't start up. Is my computer toast now. I've only had this computer for 3 years and it's been sent to HP twice I think in that time. I had an extended warranty on it but now the warranty has expired. Should I spend the money to have it fixed or just buy a new computer. I was thinking awhile back to buy a new computer now that windows 10 is coming out. I was getting the free windows 10 download for the computer that doesn't work. I noticed on the all in one computer there are no screws on it whatsoever. So I wouldn't be able to open it up to see if it needed cleaning inside. I tried awhile back to clean it through the vents with a straw but no dust was coming out of it. Anyway any help would be greatly appreciated as soon as possible. I can't live without my computer. I'm using an iPad mini to type this and it's not the same as having my all in one computer.

Thanks King_Penguin it worked!   I'm curious though, if these are signs of a bigger issue that I should take into the Apple store for further investigation.   Or is this just a quirk of the iPad?  I've been having the crashing issues consistently for about a month.  Any thoughts?  Thanks!

  • My HP Photosmart B209a won't scan on new Windows 8 HP all in one computer

My HP Photosmart B209a, which worked properly with Windows 7 will not scan from the printer or the computer on my new HP all inone desktop with Windows 8.  The fix program recommended by this site won't download to this computer either.  It will to my other brand new HP all in one desktop downstairs, but not this one.  I'm so frustrated after 5 hours of trying to make this device scan again!

  • 3 ipads, 2 ipod touches, two apple i.d.,..how do i put them all on one computer?

In our household we have three ipads, two ipod touches, four ipod shuffles, and one (very old) ipod...plus two Apple I.D.s.  How do i put them all together on one apple i.d. and one computer?

Apple ID's cannot be merged, however, a single iTunes can be authorized for up to five Apple ID's.
the following support article may be useful:
How to use multiple iPods, iPads, or iPhones with one computer

  • I look after multiple ipads each with their own itunes account. How can I manage them all from one computer.

I am looking after 20 ipads each with their own itunes account.  Am I able to have more than one itunes account on my computer so that I can sync these ipads when necessary.  We don't always buy our songs on itunes. Sometimes we buy the cds and download them onto itunes so i need to attach them to the computer to sync the songs.  I will need to do this all on my one computer.  Can this be done.  If not, what do you do in this instance.

Best way to do it is to create a user for each iTunes account.

  • HP Pavilion All in One computer No longer responding

I have a HP Pavilion MS 213 that was given to me by my son, he started having issues with it 2 months before warrenty expired but never got a resolution so he gave up, bought a new computer and gave this one to me.  (Purchased 11/26/09)
It would blue screen numerous times and finally after researching online, I figured the Hard drive was failing, so I bought a brand  new WD drive (same 500gb)  and everything was fine until yesterday when again, the blue screens started up. Now all I get is "Operating System not found, and can not go any further than that.
I can NOT get into the Bios, can not get the CD Rom to open so I can put OS Disk in, just goes right to "Operating system not found."
From other research, I see that HP knew of some Motherboard issues with the All in Ones but can not find reference to this on the forum here. I have a feeling it is now a Motherboard problem and not a HD as the HD Is so brand new.
What other things can I do to get this computer working again, I really like this computer and am very lost without one and can not afford to buy another (using my daughter's laptop for the day to research and post here)
Will HP stand behind the computer or like most others that once the warrenty is done, you are nothing?  I hope they are better at support than Others out there, and stand behind what they produce.  I am to the point of Frustration with this!!
    Any Help out there???

  • My new HP all in one computer was recently connected to our new Photosmart 7510 printer. It worked

I own a one month old HP Omni 220 PC (all in one). The operating system is Windows 7. It is connected to wi-fi network in the home. The Internet portion works fine. And, for about 30 days, it would print to our new wi-fi connected HP Photosmart 7510 just fine. Today, it will not print. Our other computers connected to the network print just fine. So, it's not the printer, or the wi-fi. Can you tell me what might have happened within my PC, and what I need to do to fix the problem? I tried restarting the PC, and the printer but that didn't fix the problem. There have been no recent changes to the software or hardware configurations.
    Thanks,
    Bill

you have to file the music file if you dont itunes cant play a file that does not exist. check the get info and look for the old music file on your old computer. Or do this http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4527.

  • 23-d038c all-in-one computer: speakers won't play? or don't exist? help!

I am setting up a HP ENVY 23-d038c. It is an all-in-one Touchscreen with Beats audio. I already have an HP ENVY laptop with Beats audio, and liked it, so I decided to get this new one to fill a need for a computer in the family room. It is "new' but refurbished, via HPP on BestBuy.com.
While the volume control shows it should be making sound, I cannot get it to play sound. When I look at sound devices drivers, it appears to be telling me there are jacks for headphones and external speakers if I want to plug them in. But I was under the impression that all "all in one" computers by definition have integrated speakers - especially one with Beats audio.
It may be that this is just because I am unfamiliar with Windows 8 so am blundering around, but is it possible this computer doesn't have integrated speakers, and/or is there any advice anyone can offer?
    Thanks!

    Hello csavage7:
Yes your computer does have internal speakers. Go to your computer's web site here. Trouble shooting section Sound and Microphone. Tittle of web page No Sound from Speakers Windows 8. http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c03515411&tmp_task=solveCategory&cc=ca&dlc=en&lc...
It tells you how to trouble shoot it. I hope it is an easy fix. The directions are not what I am use to because I am old fashion and use Windows 7 and below computers. If you get stuck let us know thank you frrw.

  • Firefow will not open at all on one computer and on the other it opens but will not load. I just added a new wireless router, could this have anything to do with it, it had been working fine up until I installed it Tuesday night. Internet explorer won't

I installed a new wireless router on Tues. (May4) up until that time I had no problems using Firefox. Now I cannot get it to open on one computer, and the other it will open but will not load. Wondering if it has anything to do with the router, my provider or our computers. Again, it had been working fine. I am also unable to open interent explorer now on either computer.

Sounds like a problem with the router installation/configuration (likely) or a DOA router (very unlikely).
Visit the forums for the router manufacturer (i.e., linksys, d-link, etc.) and ask for assistance there. There is probably a link to help listed in the router manual.
