All Internet Connection Hesitates before loading

Something has happened over the last couple of weeks. Every time I access the internet with my browser or email it stops for about a minute before loading. It is almost like it is processing something on a server before it allows me to continue.
Is it possible that this is related to the Verizon ards program that I OK'ed several weeks ago? It seemed to me like it asked me to authorize tracking my location and browsing habits. If so, is there anyway I can opt out of the program?

    Hi Donniebryson
I would be happy to look into this with you.Have you tried clearing the cache? Let's see what's causing this! What device do you have? The browser may be slowed and the browser history might need to be cleared.

  • WRT54GS and MAC OSX "has internet connection, but cannot load page"

Ok, I have skimmed through the threads here and the FAQ and still am having troubles. I amt trying to connect a MacbookPro to this wireless router. I have had it connected before which adds to my frustration. I ran all the system diagnostics and come to a point where it says, "This device has an internet connect but cannot load __________. Make sure you have the address typed in correctly." My MAC picks up the router signal, but in the diagnostics it goes as follows. AirPort - Yes Airport Settings - Yes Network Settings - Yes ISP - Yes Internet - No Server - No Please, any help is very appreciated.

Also tried the factory reset and starting from scratch and nothing...

  • Current iTunes upgrade kills ALL internet connection to computer

I'm using iTunes on Windows XP SP3.  Previous versions were not a problem.  I upgraded to the current version (11.0.2) and lost all internet connectivity, not just to the iTunes store, but to ALL applications; my computer reported that NO internet connection was present at all.  Doing a system restore resolved this, but the upgrade left some remnant that has rendered the previously working version of iTunes inoperable; when I execute it, it suggests I download the current version to correct the problem, but of course that kills my internet connection altogether and thus is not a solution.
Googling this has indicated fixes involving:
    1) Deleting the iTunesPrefs.XML file
    --> That didn't work.
    2) A solution involving executing "netsh winsock reset" at the command prompt and then rebooting.
    --> That didn't work either.
In fact, nothing I could find online worked.  I am NOT using Norton, McAfee, or any other anti-virus or firewall that would be causing the conflict.  Again, I'm using Windows XP SP3, and have a direct internet feed into my computer.
What can be done to fix this?  Currently I cannot use iTunes at all on my computer because of the upgrade and the havoc it's caused (the System Restore did NOT restore the previous working version of iTunes; when I execute it, it claims a component is missing and I should download and install the current version...)
    Many thanks in advance,
    Tom

  • Completely lost all internet connection on brand new MacBook Pro

2 week old 2011 17-in MacBook Pro, running Lion (factory installed). I should note that this is my first Mac, so I'm still learning my way around, however it's highly unlikely I did anything to cause this to happen.
The problem is pretty simple - I have lost all internet connectivity no matter what method it's connected. I have tried it on my company network via ethernet, and several different WiFi networks. All connections are recognized as connected, but I cannot make any outside connection.
We've rebooted networks servers, rebooted/shut down the Mac, re-checked all of the network settings - everything is what it should be.
Everything literally was working perfect one second and completely lost the next.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks in advance.

    Hello there, Goraksanat.
The following Knowledge Base article offers up some good pointers for troubleshooting your issue:
OS X Mavericks: If an app freezes or quits unexpectedly
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH13975
Additionally you can try an SMC reset as it is recommended for:
Applications may not function correctly or may stop responding after being opened.
Intel-based Macs: Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC).

  • My iPad will connect to wifi and safari works but all apps that need an Internet connection won't load including iTunes?

Google on safari works on my iPad but everything else that needs Internet won't even load? Is there anything I can do?

    Have you tried a restart?
Simultaneously press and hold the Home and Power buttons on your iPad. Do not release them until you see the Apple Logo. Be patient because it takes about 10-15 seconds. Try again and let us know if this helped or not.

  • Fast Internet Connection, but webpages loading slowly

    Hello everybody,
this is my first post in this community. So far this group has helped me to solve all kinds of problems I ran into by simply browsing the forum, but this time I hope that somebody might be able to help me directly.
My wireless network at home consists of an AirPort Extreme Base Station (4th Generation) and an AirPort Express Base Station that are both connected via Ethernet to a Cisco Router. I have a cable internet connection and I use the Cisco Router (which was provided by my ISP) as an interface between the cable socket and my two Apple base stations. However, only the AirPort Extreme Base Station is used to create a wireless network. The AirPort Express is used only for AirPlay.
For a couple of months now, I have been experiencing an odd problem. Webpages take a very long time to load on my MacBook Pro (13'' Retina display), my older MacBook, as well as on my girlfriend's MacBook Air (11''). Sometimes the pages load for so long that there is a timeout before the page is loaded completely. I experience this with all kinds of web browsers (Safari, Firefox, Chrome). The odd thing is that only the loading of webpages seem to be affected. Internet Downloads, Video Streams, etc. are still extremely fast. I get the following results on speedtest.net (after spending 1 minute to load the page):
    - Ping: 9ms
    - Download Speed: 38.55 Mbps
    - Upload Speed: 7.62 Mbps
Also, when connected to the network with my iPad or my girlfriend's iPhone, pages load with a normal speed. We experience the issues only on our Mac computers. Outside my home network all computers load pages as quickly as they should.
Here is a list of things that I tried:
    - Restarted AirPort Extreme Base Station and Cisco Router
    - Factory Reset of AirPort Extreme Base Station and Cisco Router
    - Downgraded AirPort Extreme Base Station from 7.6.1. to various former versions and back
    - Changed channels of the Airport Extreme Base Station
    - Connected to AirPort Extreme base station via Ethernet (pages still loading slowly)
    - Ran Activity Monitor on my Mac, but found no activities that could cause the Mac to slow down
    - Ran Network Utility and sent a ping to google.com, but experienced no traffic loss
At this point I am really running out of ideas on how to solve this. Does anybody have a clue what might cause this?
    Best regards,
    Georg

    HI tzbikowski,
    thanks for your message!
I added 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 to my DNS server list. This has definitely improved things. Pages are loading quicker now, but it's still far from the speed you would expect. Could you elaborate on what you mean when you say that the cisco settings should be correctly propagated onto LAN? When connecting to the Cisco router through the admin interface, it mentions two different DNS servers that the router appears to use (I guess those are provided by my ISP). Are you referring to these servers?
    Thanks!

    Hey there zizicool,
If you are still unable to use the iPads cellular data when traveling, I would recommend the troubleshooting information in the following article named:
Get help with the cellular data connection on your iPad (Wi-Fi + Cellular Model)
Tap Settings and make sure that Cellular Data is turned on. Turn Cellular Data off, then back on again.
Swipe up from the bottom of the screen to open the Control Center. Tap the airplane icon to turn airplane mode on. Wait three seconds, then turn it off.
    Restart your iPad.
Check for a carrier settings update.
Update your iPad with the latest version of iOS.
Remove the SIM card, then insert it again.
If your SIM card uses a SIM PIN, tap Settings > Cellular Data and turn SIM PIN off.
Tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
If you have another SIM card with a valid cellular data account, remove the SIM card from your iPad and insert the other SIM card. If the cellular data connection works with the other SIM card, contact your carrier to report the issue.
Try another location. If the cellular data connection works in another area but not in the first location you tried, contact your carrier to report the issue.
    Restore your iPad as new.
If you still can't connect to or use a cellular data network, contact your carrier, make a reservation at a Genius Bar, or contact AppleCare for more help.
    Learn more
You might be able to set up or make changes to your cellular account by tapping Settings > Cellular > View Account. To set up your cellular data service for the first time, you might need to use the latest version of iOS and connect to Wi-Fi.
If you're traveling internationally, learn about using cellular data in other countries. Check with your carrier before you travel to make sure that you understand the cost of international data roaming. Tap Settings > Cellular to turn Data Roaming on or off.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    Take care,
    Sterling

  • IPhone using Mac Mini's internet connection sharing, stops loading webpages

Bought an iPhone 1 hour ago.
I'm sharing my internet connection to my iBook and MacBook from my Mac Mini. Works fine.
    Can't connect using the iPhone.
It will detect the network, it will show full network reception, but it will only load webpages for the first 10 seconds and then stops.
Tried removing the password, fixing a channel, resetting the iPhone (full reset), the "forget this network" trick, nothing worked.
It will load web pages in the first 10 seconds of detecting my open network. Its highly frustrating...
Any suggestions? Maybe using the restore option from iTunes instead of the reset ones from iPhone? Will this try to reinstall the latest firmware?

Very similar case here -- I bought an iPhone just yesterday, set it up with internet sharing on my Mac Mini, and am getting random (but frequent) failures connecting via wifi. Small web pages can get through sometimes, large (or complex) web pages almost always hang during loading, e-mail pretty much never works.
However, using "edge" works just fine.
I've nosed around these forums a bit (and googled for this problem a bit), and it does seem like there are a number of users having this sort of trouble. However, some folks with this problem have noted that they can run wifi just fine at other hotspots. (I haven't taken my phone to another hotspot yet, maybe I'll try tomorrow...) And I've shared my internet connection to other PCs from my Mini successfully before. So, in my opinion, this problem does not appear to be an actual hardware fault in either the iPhone or the Mac Mini, but rather some disagreement between the settings chosen on both sides; my guess is that this'll take a driver modification in either or both to fix, rather than a replacement of either the iPhone or the Mini.
    Just my current guess, though.

  • Internet connection breaks while loading a QuickTime-Stream

I'm not able to watch a QuickTime-Stream. The video seems to load forever and while loading my interntet connection on my Mac mini breaks. Same situation on any other computer at home. I fear there's a problem with my router. Can you help me?

Definitely has to do with the iPhone. Haven't left it connected lately and have not experienced any connection problems at all. The model is 837jp. I'm not worried about it now that I know what is causing it. I'll just charge the phone with the power outlet and only connect it when backing it up. Problem solved. Thanks, PC Tester, for your help.

  • Why did I lose all internet connectivity with new Mozilla Firefox update?

I recently updated mozilla firefox on my other computer, an ibm thinkpad (windows xp) and since installing, there is no longer any ability to connect to the internet, even with internet explorer. I even tried to do a system restore and this did not work. What can i do to fix this?

When you can not connect after an update, it is usually caused by a firewall blocking the new version of Firefox. Try removing Firefox from the rules list of your Firewall which will force the firewall to create a new rule for Firefox. Also see [[Firefox cannot load websites but other programs can]].

  • AU Manager insists on verifying all my plug-ins before loading every time, not just first load.

Why does the AU manager insist on verifying all my plug-ins each time it loads in Pro X ?
    Really annoying and time consuming.

    Quit Logic Pro X
    Delete the Audio Unit cache
In the Finder, choose Go > Go to Folder from the menu.
Type ~/Library/Caches in the "Go to the folder" field.
    Press the Go button
    Remove the "com.apple.audiounits.cache" file.
    Restart your Mac
    Launch LPX
It should do one more full rescan and then that should fix the issue...
If not then let us know please...
