All keys quit working!

ATT 8820 no damage, water, anything out of the normal, none of the keys work. I have reset the phone by pulling the battery with no results. (left it out 15 mins too!)
I have backed the phone up, and i was wondering if there was a way to do a master reset "externally"? I cannot select anything, or use the enter key, or anything. It will scroll up and down the screen, but I cannot select or make calls. I have gone through 4 8310's and this will be 8820 #3 since January if I warranty this one too.... I love my Blackberry, but this is not worth the trouble.
Any suggestions on a reset?

I would suggest you try reinstalling the device OS. Go to your carrier software download site and install the existing or updated OS in your device.

why would certain keys quit working

I would love to know the answer to this too. All the sudden my "s" key does not work when i need to capitalize it. I have to hit the caps lock key in order to have an "S" and then turn it back off. It works fine for lower case, but only when I need to cap it. Anyone out there have any suggestions as to what is going on??

Why do arrow keys quit working during a reading session

I've noticed many times while reading that when I first open a book I can use arrow keys to scroll and turn pages. But after while that quits working and I have to use the readers paging and scrolling tools. Which is much more difficult to me since you have to focus on finding them. Whereas with the arrow keys my hands just know here they are.
I haven't yet discovered what causes the arrow keys to quit working, but once they have the only way I've found to get them woking again is to completely close the book and reopen it.

I have noticed this also. I am using OS X 10.6.1 and Digital Editions 1.7.1.1085.
I have tried many things to get the arrow keys working, on the assumption that I had done something to deactivate them. Now, however, I suspect this is a bug.

Droid X2 All apps quit working

I have had my Droid X2 since August of 2011. I have had various little problems with the OS and other features of the phone. Most recently it has started to not allow any of my apps to run. It will let me open the apps and let them get to the main screen but before I can do anything with them it comes up with an error message that they stopped working unexpectedly and I have the option to Force Close or Report. I have tried uninstalling any recently installed apps. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling apps. I have also tried turning the phone off and pulling the battery for a few minutes, then re installing the battery and turning it back on. None of this has helped, any ideas? Or is it time for me to go get it replaced? Also if I select to force close it, it does not go back tot he home screen it will try to reopen the app and just keep cycling if I let it.

I found from another source that all you have to do is go to the app store and download a new (free) app... Once it is installed all the others worked perfectly.

Arrow keys quit working after clicking on hyperlink

Hi all, I am using FM 8.0p277 on windows 7. When I open a document and use the arrow keys to go through the document everything works fine. Hold arrow key down and it scrolls through the document. If I click on a hyperlink to go out the the web from the FM document, things go wrong. After that I cannot scroll through a document by holding down the arrow key. I have to click one time to go down one line then click again to go another line. The same going left or right. If I hilight text I have to stop one word short of where I want to be, then the next word is hilighted after I remove my fingers from the shift and ctrl keys. Is this something to do with the Windows 7??? I can work around it, but it is a pain. Thanks for any help you can give to me.

Go step by step and test.
1. System Preference > Sound > Output > Internal Speakers
    Highlight Internal Speakers.
    Make sure that Mute is not enabled.
2.Plug in and remove the headphone.
    If you see red light in the headphone port, plug the headphone
    in and out of the port 5 or 6 times to flip the microswitch inside.
    Sound output may be stuck in the digital mode.
    Try this even if you don’t see the red light.
3. Reset PRAM. http://support.apple.com/kb/PH14222
    Do this twice
4. Reset SMC.     http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964
    Choose the appropriate method.
    Choose the method for:
    "Resetting SMC on portables with a battery you should not remove on your own".
5. Applications > Utilities > Audio MIDI Setup
    Audio Devices window
    Side Bar
    Click the Built-in Output.
    Under Mute any of the boxes checked? If so,uncheck it.

HT201321 Numbers pad 4 5 6 and the up down arrow key quit working. I swithched keybouards (Both are Apple, and still have the same problem, its not hardware.)

The 4 5 6 keys and the up down arrows do not work.
I had the Cap C off for a While Had hit some key command
that shut it off so I got a new keyboard and it did the same.
HAs anyone had this problem

Does the problem happen if you reboot the system into Safe Mode by holding the Shift key at startup?
Additionally, does the problem happen if you create a new user account in the Users & Groups system preferences and log into that?

What do you do when all sound quits working except the ringer on phone calls

The only sound in my phone that is working is the ringer for phone calls. The sound for apps, keyboard clicks, notifications, texts etc is not working including plugging in my phone charger sound. Please help. This is happening at random.

Annnnnnd....now the ringer doesn't work. No wait. It does.

N82 all mkeys dont work (except on/off key)

Iam with a strange problem..
its my second n82 (new phone) and i think it comes with a problem..
when iam opening applications, pressing keys and making normal use of phone, it freeze and all keys dont work, only key that work is the power on key, and it change profiles, options only, i cannot turn off the phone, then i can remove battery or wait one or two minutes and it reboot, its a very strange problem because in my previous n82 i never see it happen
well, this phone only come with nokia maps in microSD card, it was firmware v10, then i updated to v30 and no luck, same thing happen, i`ve tried two different cards and it happen anyway, ive formated too with 3 key and *#7370#.
Have anyone experienced this same problem with n82?
Since that i have 7 days for exchange it by a new phone, iam thinking about this

iam testing it without memory card inserted and by while its working, ive formated my 8gb card too and all looks good again, if problem comes again ill test without sim card (i never imagine that it can cause this problem, thank you by advice).
but i see people talking about nokia maps freezing, and first time that i open maps after 8gb card formatting it freeze phon.
only a thing: in my previous n82 i was using sandisk card, in this new iam using kingston. no sure if really the card was causing it

Keyboard keys not working?

I am wondering if anybody has ANY ideas for me. It started off the trackball not tracking to the right. I cleaned the TB, and fixed that problem. Then all of the keys went random. The call button went to "y" and "i" all of the time. I did a hard reset (after many soft resets), and that fixed most of the keys. Then randomly the "3/R" key quit working, and the "L" key also quit working.
Any ideas? I am exactly thirty days out of warrenty....

How did you "clean" the trackball?
I guess you've got water damage so follow sdgardne's steps for de-hydrating the device - stick the devcie only (no battery,etc) in a bag of rice for three days (DO NOT REMOVE OR "TEST"!)
If this doesnt work then do an OS reload.
If it still doesnt work then youve got a faulty device and you'll have to go through a repair/replacement.

Droid Home key not working, along with other things.

Recently, my Droid's Home key and Search key quit working. My passcode lock on the main screen won't work, its like its been disabled, but thats not the case. Also, when I power off the phone, I only get the option to turn it off, all the other options have disappeared. Finally, the phone won't ring. It will announce text messages, emails, and voicemails, but no calls come through. I've called the phone numerous times from other phones, and it rings 2-3 times and goes to my voicemail. Anyone have any ideas as to what the problem maybe?
Also, when I take a picture with the phone and exit the camera and open up the gallery.....the pics aren't there that I just took. This sometimes takes a few minutes, or a few times until the next day. If I open the camera back up, and click on the last pic in the upper corner, I can see them fine, but they aren't in the gallery. Why is this? I've absolutely loved my Droid since I got it....but it sure seems to have become JUNK really quickly!!!! HELP!!!

I had this exact same problem. I called verizon about it and they shipped me a new phone. But since they decided they would ship it to me on a friday while im at work and I couldnt get it till Monday when I have a day off, I decided I would try something on my own.
What I did was backed up all my apps and contacts on my SD card and then placed all the files on my computer for safe keeping. (you know...just in case) The I decided I would do a factory restore on my phone (super easy)
first turn off the phone
The press and hold the X button on the qwerty keyboard and hold the power button at the same time
When you get the yellow triangle with the "!" let go of x and power and hold down the volume up button and the camera button. it should direct you to a menu where the 3rd options is to do the factory reset.
use the directional pad to select factory rest
choose the option that says yes
takes less than a minutes for it to go through the factory reset. once it is done you choose the first option on the menu where it says reboot. do that and then all you will have to do it re-set up your phone (entering email address, going through the activation, that kinda stuff). took maybe 5 minutes for me and it works for the most part. 2 days ago verizon made my name appear restricted and this reset hasnt been able to change that setting yet.
Home button should work, phone locks should work.....etc etc just like when you first got it. (if you recently installed 2.2 it should still be 2.2 after the reset)

Shift key not working with some keys

I am using a MAC Pro with two hard drives. One runs Leopard and the other MS windows. while in windows, the birghtness key illuminated (f2 key) and suddenly the shift 2, w, s, x keys quit working. I decided to reboot and while holding the option key to boot into windows, the system did not recognize the option key and booted me into Leopard. so now I notice the shift 2, w, s, x, and option key are not working. Any suggestions? Also, the brightness icon is still lit up on my screen and I am not able to make it go away or even adjust...

I'm having this same exact issue. Anyone know of a fix? Is it possible junk in the keyboard?
I tested my keys using the keyboard viewer, and when I hit function it recognizes it, but it doesn't when it is loading.

X205 S9810 Bluetooth quit working

I have a X205 S9810 Satellite. It has Bluetooth, but the Bluetooth appears to have quit working. I have downloaded and installed the Bluetooth stack and Bluetooth monitor from Toshiba.
Also, the FN key quit working. I have searched the forums and product support with no success. Any support will be greatly appreciated.

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
Step 1
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select

Had itunes then one day it quit working, now all i get when i open is this:itunes has quit working box

My son received a laptop for christmas last december..Itunes has worked on it up until about a month ago. Now the program states this: Itunes has quit working- we have uninstalled and reinstalled earlier verions as well as the new version. they all go through the process but when it finalizes and we open it says the same thing. under the details of the error we get all this stuff:
