All licenses used for AAC files.

I just built a new computer for use on my home network and was setting itunes up to share songs with it when I ran into a problem. While the non-music-store songs will play fine, I am "not authorized" to play the music store songs. I cannot authorize the computer, because, somehow, all of the licenses have been used up, even though the original computer should be the only one licenses to play the songs at the moment. My question is, how do I get rid of all licenses except for the one on the original computer (Assuming this isn't some sort of bug)?
Thanks

This link should help you get your authorizations straightened out.

Newer versions of Photoshop ships with Adobe Bridge for Organizing image files.  However your not required to use it.  You can also use LightRoom or system utilities like Windows File explorer and Mac Finder.  Photoshop itself uses System dialogs to access your file systems files.   When Photoshop display an Open or Save dialog to you in all probability its a Windows or Mac System dialog.  Photoshop versions may also have some internal Photoshop Dialogs programed by Adobe for accessing your systems file systems.

We are currently in a published desktop environment in Citrix XenApp 6.5.  Server is running on Windows 2008 R2.  Users are not able to save PDF's into the redirected folders (ie Desktop or My Documents).  Exactly same issue described in "The disk you were saving to or the disk used for temporary file is full...."  Anyone has any suggestion??

I just started getting the "Document could not be saved. The disk you were saving to or the disk used for temporary files is full. Free some space on this disk and try again, or save to a different disk" message.
I am running Windows 8. I've seen fixes for this on the Internet for previous versions of Windows on the Internet, but haven't seen one that works for Windows 8. Help, please.

  • Memory Used for Saving Files

My IT person is giving me a hard time because I've used 5.5 gigabytes of memory in the 2.5 years that I've worked here design everything from brochures to ads, etc.  Does that sound like an unreasonable amount of memory for desktop publishing?  His solution is to have me save everything onto 11 discs and have a spreadsheet to determine what projects are on which disk. I have no point of reference - and haven't run into this issue in past jobs.  Between saving files in Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, PDFs and stock photography, the amount of memory seems reasonable to me.  And saving projects on discs sounds cumbersome.
    Appreciate the feedback.

When talking about Memory most people think RAM not hard disk space. 5.5 gigs is a trivial amount of hard disk space to be used for projects in the DTP business. It should take up a trivial amount of space on your hard drive. HOWEVER, all your work if needed should be archived to CDs or DVDs as appropriate. If for nothing else backup. Each project should have its own disks or disks that can be externally marked. BTW, 1 terabyte drives are available for about $100. Tell IT to get a life, get off your back, and buy you a decent sized drive or two.

  • [SOLVED] which mimetype is qbittorrent using for previewing files?

How do I find out which mimetype qbittorent uses to preview a file when I right-click on a downloaded/-ing torrent and select "preview file"? It is definitely not application/x-directory, can someone tell me which it is and how I can figure this out myself in the future?
My problem is previewing opens in Firefox as a "file://" url, but I want this to be handled by vlc or rox...
    Thanks!!

I am going to answer my own question here:
The mime type somehow is in the file so it is not the app that says "use mime type x on this file" but it's rather "use whatever mime type is associated with this file". To see a mime type of a file called test.mp4 use this command:
    $ xdg-mime query filetype test.mp4
In my example I got this:
    audio/mp4; charset=binary
Now we set the mime-type, in my example I want to use rox to handle this file, and then configure rox to use vlc:
    xdg-mime default rox.desktop audio/mp4
Since I already set the default action for that file in rox with a right-click and then using "vlc" as the command, this now works beautifully.
If you are wondering, setting the default app for a mime type will edit the file
    ~/.local/share/applications/defaults.list
and add the following for this magic to work:
    [Default Applications]
    audio/mp4=rox.desktop
On a side note, does anyone else feel that freedesktop.org's documentation really blows? Isn't all of the above supposed to be explained for example here? http://www.freedesktop.org/wiki/Specifi … -info-spec
EDIT: I added this into the wiki here: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Ch … rary_files
as this is the first page that showed up when I searched "mime" in the wiki...

  • What exception to use for incorrect file format?

I parse a file and find out that it contains unsupported elemnet.

You are applying a general case to specificinstance
without knowing any of the details.Indeed I am. However, generally speaking, a method
that throws Exception is less-than-optimal design in
an API. I will try to illustrate my point.
Throwing an Exception does not provide any clues to
the user of your API about what might go wrong in the
    method call, while throwing an
    UnsupportedElementException certainly does. An
    UnsupportedElementException is much more informative
to the user, while a plain Exception is not. A custom
exception in this case is implicitly clear, even
without consulting the Javadocs.Which is all true if I am writing a library. But most people do not write libraries, they write applications. In applications either exceptions are part of the process flow (explicitly caught) or they are not. The vast majority are not part of the process flow.
    >
The only time you should create a custom exceptionis
when you believe it will be possible for someone todo
something intelligent with it.Are you always able to tell in advance whether the
user of you API can do something intelligent with an
exception? Can you make the supposition that the user
can never do anything meaningful with the exceptions
you throw? I am not convinced that you can, at least
not in most of the cases. One should never ever design or code solely based on the "hope" that sometime in the future someone "might" need it. Doing that leads to code bloat, code that is hard to understand and worst of all code that is never tested.
So unless there is a known need a special exception should not be created.
    >
If I am creating an application that automatically
moves data via a socket and that must move thedata,
then I don't care why the socket failed to connect.I
am simply going to keep retrying until it does
connect. In this case an Exception is perfectly
    acceptable.
On the other hand the same application might wantto
resolve the DNS name first and simply give up if it
can't resolve it. But still continue if the
connection timed out. In this case at least one
custom Exception is needed to differentiate between
the two failure paths.Agreed. And to make the API nice and neat, write two
meaningful custom exceptions to differentiate the
failures. :)Nope. Again that is fine for a library. It is not needed for an application. An application has a purpose which is defined by the requirements. Adding stuff when there is neither a current requirement or when there is no expected future requirement is a bad idea.
I have yet to meet a developer who can accurately predict the future. I have however met many who thought there code could be generalized for many possible imaginary cases that they conceived in their mind.
And all that extra code is never tested by QA (because there are no requirements) and causes maintenance problems down the road because it is not part of the documented infrastructure.
also it forces the user of
you API to catch all Exceptions. That is obviously non-sensical. Regardless of the
checked exception being used, you still have tocatch
it.I did not mean that you force the user of your API to
write a try-catch -block, I meant that you force the
user of your API to catch each and every exception
    that inherits from java.lang.Exception. Even
RuntimeExceptions; and that can be a problem.
I have no idea what you are trying to express there.
A checked exception must be caught regardless of what type of checked exception it is. The user might break it out but only if the user expects to do something with a specific type of exception.

  • Lost all previous Word for Mac files

Does anyone have any contact info for microsoft word (2004) for imac?
Recently lost all old word files, however, it has remembered the last 2 docs. In addition, it stopped listing 'Documents' as a option in Applications -where it was previously along with 'Pictures' Movies' etc.
Apple support staff on phone said I should call Microsoft Word, yet they charge a lot from what I can see for a simple phone support.

  • Uses for old file server

    Home esxi rig?

Recently I (personally) purchased our old file server. It served as a temporary unit after the "real" one took a dump. Once it was virtualized, the physical tower got put away for several years and was forgotten. While cleaning house, we had a boneyard PC sale, $5 takes, to get rid of our old XP boxes. This one was included.
It's got a Core i5 3570k, ASUS P8Z77-V LX, a HighPoint RocketRAID 1470 SATA II card which supports RAID 0,1,5,10, and half a dozen SATA hard drives amounting to 5TB.
What could I possibly do with this thing? I know there's a lot I could do, just need more ideas.  I already have a gaming rig, so throwing that out.

  • What player to use for ODM file

    Hello,
I am enjoying listing to audio books on my ipod which I get from the local library. However, so of the titles are only available in the OMD format which will not play on the ipod touch. What is the best way to convert a OMD file to a mp3 file so the ipod will accept and play the audio book? My computer would not play the OMD file either. Thank you for your ideas.

You can't legaly convert them since that are copy protected.
Download/install the OverDrive Media Console app to play them on the iPod

  • Error when flattening and embeding all annotations using javascript program file "flatten.js"?

I need to flatten an Adobe Acrobat fill-in form with annotations and after installing a javascript file, I get the option available to flatten the document under the "document" menu; however, when selected, I receive an error "An Internal Error Has Occurred".  Why am I getting this error?  How to I get rid of it and get the javascript file to work and flatten my document?  Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks.

You almost certainly have a corrupted cache file. See Deleting a corrupted cache file.
By the way, you could have found this information much more quickly by visiting the Dreamweaver FAQ.

  • Package question - what are the uses for  /var/sadm/pkg ?

I'm writing packages and noticed once a packages is installed using pkgadd, that files and dirs are created in the /var/sadm/pkg directory. I'm specificly intereseted in the pkginfo file - it contains all the variables from my request script and their values. My question is what are all the uses for this file?
I've noticed that pkginfo reads from it but would there be any problem deleting certain lines from that file (lines not used by pkginfo - just variables used in the request script that I'd really rather not have floating around in a publicly accessable file).
    thanks!
    Bob

I'm refering specificly to the file "/var/sadm/pkg/<pkgName>/pkginfo" - it's created during pkgadd and contains all the variable-value pairs from the packages pkginfo file as well as any variables used in the request script and copied to it's temporary response file. I'm not refering to the pkginfo file that you create as a package infofile component.
I want to remove, from the /var/sadm/pkg/<pkgName>/pkginfo file, certain var-value pairs that were used in my request scripts (not part of the InfoFile/pkginfo component). Otherwise, any user can look at this file or run 'pkgparam <pkgName>' and get that sensative info.
To the best of my knowledge, this file is only used by the commands pkgparam and pkginfo. Are there other uses?
    My worries are:
-is it OK to remove lines manually during the postinstall script?
-will doing this cause problems with any admin or package maintenance functions?
    Thanks-
    Bob

  • Licensing Options for .air (& .pdf) files?

    Hello,
Does anyone have any ideas for licensing software for .air files that will be distributed?  Using .swf licensing option might also work. Most everything out there is for .exe, and is really expensive.
I'm also looking for licensing options for use in PDFs that will be distributed.
    Thanks!

    Hi,
    I'd start here:
    http://www.adobe.com/licensing/
    (runtimes licensing and distributions)
    http://www.adobe.com/aboutadobe/antipiracy/faq.html
    (Acrobat family licensing/distributions FAQ)
PDF is advertised as open format:
    http://www.adobe.com/devnet/pdf.html
    (PDF Technology Center)
    and other forum could help:
    http://forums.adobe.com/community/acrobat
Generally speaking reading EULA-s for software you're using to produce contain help to find what software is used/components licensed for use with runtime/etc (so we could avoid patent trolls - while Adobe could be hit only - in theory):
