All messages on hold in message monitoring

Hi,
If all of sudden (SOAP to idoc) ..for all the messages in message monitoring is on HOLDING status for all the interfaces.
These interfaces were working fine earlier.
In adapter monitoring , adapters are fine.
i could not see anything SMq transaction also.
what are the possiblities to cause this kind of error?
Thanks

Hi Bhavesh,
It is exactly once in Order.
This is really useful info which u send.
I could not find conversion id and sequential number as stefan mentioned in that blog in my message monitoring in config. table columns(in extended filter criteria)
But already  i tried to cancel the those messages as well as resend  but i could not do.
I guess my user do not have access to that.
Any other inputs/useful blogs?
Thanks

  • Messages on Holding at Message Monitoring under Runtime Workbench

    Hello Colleagues,
    we have currently the problem that a lot of messages for some interfaces are in status Holding under Message Monitoring at Runtime Workbench for PI 7.1.
    I'm not able to resend the messages with status Holding as well as change status to cancel.
    Quality of Service for the Interfaces are Exactly Once in Order.
    I assume an error message blocks the queue and due to the fact we have Exactly Once in Order configured all following messages be in status Holding.
    Is my assumption right?
    But, I am not abel to find any messages in status error with blocks the queue!
    How can I solve that issue?
    Many thanks in advance!
    Jochen

    I assume an error message blocks the queue and due to the fact we have Exactly Once in Order
    configured all following messages be in status Holding.
    AE should have least number of EOIO messages at a given instance...otherwise Holding is what you get.....and holding is common with EOIO....so see if you can chagne the QoS of some messages to EO
    But, I am not abel to find any messages in status error with blocks the queue!
    Never you will get an error in SXMB_MONI....or the queue blocked....
    When your message goes out of IE...the corresposding message entry is marked with chequered flag...observe in MONI you will see this....however in AE the message can fail if not able to send to the target system....
    For some more understanding refer my answer in this thread:

  • Messages are Holding in message monitoring tool

    Hi All,
    I am facing the problem with messages which are in holding state.
    My scenario is file to proxy. The file content contains of EDI. my scenario is already gone to production last year.
    and its working fine. Used java mappings for validation of EDI file. its running successfully.
    where as in Dev system till october first i used to load the files in FTP inbox folder and messages were processed successfully.
    But from october first week when i load the files in FTP inbox, file has been picking succesfully and can see the logs in sender comm channel  but the i can see that my interface is in holding state in message monitoring tool and its not going to receiver comm channel. I have loaded 5 files and all are in holding state.
    even i have cancelled first error message and tried to resend the next message swhich is in holding state, but this is not happening.
    i am using EOIO queue.
    when i cancel the error message remaining messages should processed automatically but its not getting processed here.
    sequencing of the interface triggering is
    1. Interface_1
    2. Interface_2
    3. Interface_3
    4. Interface_4
    Here i am stucking up with the first interface itself.Here only first interface is in holding state.
    can any one advise what could be the problem..
    I m on SP 10.
    Thanks,
    Bhaskar

    Hi Abhijit,
    Even after unchecking the checkbox maintain order at runtime, its not working.
    i think there is no disturbed in message processing sequence.
    my first sender interface itself going into hold state.
    i have cancelled the hold message, even after that remaining messages are processing automatically.
    and also i could not fine any messages in SMQ1 and SMQ2.
    I also deresister and registered te queues and activated.
    Kindly advise what would be the problem..
    in production its working fine and development its not working fine.
    Thanks,

  • Message status "Holding" - Message monitoring adapter framework

    Hello,
    We have some messages with the status "Holding" in a queue in the message monitoring in the adapter framework.
    Normally you have to restart the first message of that queue. The message with the status "system error". Unfortunately this message is not available anymore because it is older than 30 days and the retetion period is 30 days.
    I already read the blog about "[How to deal with stuck EOIO messages in the XI 3.0 Adapter Framework|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/weblogs;jsessionid=(J2EE3417100)ID1887311350DB01819286872323159351End?blog=/pub/wlg/3566]"
    The blog does not mention what to do when the first message (sequential number) is not available anymore.
    Is it possible to restart the messages in the queue in that case?
    Thanks
    Kind regards
    Frank

    Unfortunately this message is not available anymore because it is older than 30 days and the retetion period is 30 days.
    I assume that the message was deleted.....in this case the next message in the queue will be blocking the queue....so try resending this message....even the blog mentions that you either solve the error or cancel the message....so now start from the second message....if possible solve the error for this message....if not possible to resolve then cancel it so that rest of the queue gets processed
    From the blog:
    Now the erroneous message is the first message in the display. You can look at the error reason, try to fix the problem and
    resend or cancel the message to release the queue.

    Abhishek.

  • In Message Monitoring Message showing holding status

    Hi
    Can anyone solve this problem.Its urgent for me.
    My scenario is IDoc->XI->FILE
    The file i am trying to generate is an xml file which i am dropping in XI application server using File system.
    The problem is when i am going to see the message using transaction SXMB_MONI the perticular message interface is showing waiting for acknowladgement status .
    But in message monitoring in runtime workbench the it is showing following status:
    Adapter Engine
    <b>Holding</b>
    18.11.2005 05:42:09
    CORP_SAP_DR2_030 http://limited.com/usa/sap_appl/retail/VendorsSAPAPOToMANU
    MIIA_Create
    BS_MANU
    I am in SP14.
    Also the output xml file is not getting created in the XI application server.
    Please let me know the solution.
    Thanks
    Debraj Roy

    Hi Debraj
    HOLDING is a status which occurs normally for EOIO (Exactly Once In Order), so your message is set to Holding means some earlier message has not gone through. So until those messages are through this message will be in HOLDING state.
    Have a look at this link which explains how to handle such scenarios.

  • Adapter message monitoring: message in HOLD

    Hi,
    since we changed a scenario:
    a) old scenario: R/3 --> XI --> BPM --> XI  --> FTP
    b) new scenario R/3 --> XI   --> FTP
    the messages stuck in adapter message monitoring.
    Message-Interface is the same, CC is the same; just the way through BPM was canceled.
    any suggestions?
    Thanks
    Regards Mario

    Hi Mario,
    messages are in status HOLD, when they need to be sent in exact order (EOIO), and an error occured in one (or more) queues. When you solve this error, restart the first message from the queue after this error and the items will be processed.
    How to do that:
    Go to messaging system servlet, find your message (in hold status) and click the Eye icon - Details. Now read the Conversation ID value - which is your queue ID.
    Go to RWB, message monitoring, choose adapter engine( from combobox)-> display.Now click additional criteria, put the value of Conversation ID to conversation ID textbox. Start search. You'll see a lot of messages there in hold status I think, But find the one in System Error status. Try to resend this message, if it will not change its status (will still be in in System error), cancel it. Now restart first message from the queue, which was after this wrong one.
    This should release the queue and process items.
    If any questions, let me know.
    Peter

    Try pulling the battery for 10 minutes and putting it back in.  Try pressing and holding the power button for a while 15-30 seconds to see if it will respond.  Did anything happen to it, drop, submersion, etc. Was it functioning before you charged, When did it last work. Are you sure it charged up and the charger is working.

  • How to hold the messages in XI

    Hello Experts,
    There are some messages coming into XI in the form of TLOGs. so i just want hold the all XML messages in XI for long time. could somone explain  is there any procedure to hold the messages in XI .
    I gone through the below SDN forum. but could someone suggest any otherway or procedure plz.

    Thx,
    Amar

    I implemented a scenario similar like yours here:
    You can reference my solution: my requirements is that all the messages received after saying 9:00pm, will be hold until 12:00am to process, and it should not block any other interface processing:
    I used UDF using following code, map it to root target node
    public String CalendarDelay(String a,Container container){
    // get the supported ids for GMT-05:00 (Pacific Standard Time)
    String[] ids = TimeZone.getAvailableIDs(-5 * 60 * 60 * 1000);
    // if no ids were returned, something is wrong. get out.
    if (ids.length == 0)
         System.exit(0);
    //create a Pacific Standard Time time zone
    SimpleTimeZone pdt = new SimpleTimeZone(-5 * 60 * 60 * 1000, ids[0]);
    // set up rules for daylight savings time
    pdt.setStartRule(Calendar.APRIL, 1, Calendar.SUNDAY, 2 * 60 * 60 * 1000);
    pdt.setEndRule(Calendar.OCTOBER, -1, Calendar.SUNDAY, 2 * 60 * 60 * 1000);
    // create a GregorianCalendar with the Pacific Daylight time zone
    // and the current date and time
    Calendar calendar = new GregorianCalendar(pdt);
    Date trialTime = new Date();
    calendar.setTime(trialTime);
    int currYear = calendar.get(Calendar.YEAR);
    int currMonth =  calendar.get(Calendar.MONTH);
    int currDate = calendar.get(Calendar.DATE);
    Calendar StartCalendar = new GregorianCalendar(pdt);
    Calendar EndCalendar = new GregorianCalendar(pdt);
    StartCalendar.set(currYear, currMonth, currDate, 17, 30, 0);
    EndCalendar.set(currYear, currMonth, currDate, 23, 59, 59);
    long startTime = StartCalendar.getTimeInMillis();
    long endTime = EndCalendar.getTimeInMillis();
    long currTime = calendar.getTimeInMillis();
    if ((currTime >= startTime) && (currTime <= endTime)){
    //return "Current time fall into the range !";
      try
            Thread.sleep(endTime - currTime);   //delay 10 min
                }catch (InterruptedException ie)
            System.out.println(ie.getMessage());
    return a;
    else
    return a;

  • Messages are HOLD in RWB

    Hi,
    I am facing a problem with Messages recieved by SOAP Adapter. I am using Aynchronous call and message split. The scenario is Proxy to SOAP receiver.
    There 5 messages calling WebServices at the same time. there are no errors in MONI.
    In RWB, I can see three messages are processed successfully and Two message are in HOLD status.
    I am searched in forums and notes are talking about EOIO.This means the SOAP receiver put the messages in EOIO. Because we nowhere specify in receiver EO or EOIO.
    Hope message split is not a problem. I am using PI 7.0 SP 13.
    Thanks in advance for your suggestions,
    Srinivasa

    Hi,
    Atleast my scenarios are not going to HOLD. The all new messages flowing now.
    Still, i have to check how to restart my old hold messages, i am gettting exceptions for this.
    One more problem is the messages are not in order, i am expecting one message to execute before that other one. the messages are generated from message split and hitting all my SOAP receiver adapter...
    My interface deterimination already specified " maintain order at runtime"
    It looks it is maintaining order in integration server, but adapter engine processining in its own way.
    Is there anything i have to do here.
    Thanks,
    Srinivasa

  • JDBC Messages in Holding state

    Hi all,
    My scenario is jdbc to jdbc - get data from an stored procedure and execute some updates in other database system. What is happening that today all update messages (jdbc receiver) are set as sucessifull processed in sxmb_moni, but no information was updated in target database. I saw that in RWB, those messages are with status "holding"... some of you has any idea how can I deal with this?
    thanks!

  • Messages in HOLDING status in AE

    Hi All,
    We have an issue with JDBC receiver EOIO messages, with messages going into HOLD status in AE , its a DEV environment :
    1) We have tried checking for failed messages before these messages we donot have any failed messages before these messages  just messages in HOLD..
    2) we are not able to delete or cancel these messages , we get a message cannot delete the message ,
    3) The message is doing a INSERT update to JDBC , JDBC connection is fine.

    Hi Kiran,
    Please let me know if your problem is fixed.
    I'm also facing the same problem in our Testing system where many messages are going to HOLD Status and also there are no messages in the System  Error state.
    We are trying to resend all the messages in every "Conversation ID". After this some messages gets successful and some will go into  Waiting status. We then cancel the messages in waiting status and resend all the messages in HOLD status and the process continues till all the messages in HOLD status in every Coversation ID were cleared.
    But this is a very very time consuming process.
    So can you please let me know if there is any solution for this prolem.
    Thanks,
    Pruthvi

  • On Hold Music/Messaging

    Are there any folks looking at providing any form of music on hold, or better yet a basic business message on hold. We are trying to envision the replacement of traditional business telephone system/services with an ALL Skype environment.
    Anything in the works?

    Unfortunately, there is no built in way to play hold music.  I have, however, found a way to do so.
    More or less you replace the audio input that is your voice talking into a mic with music playing from another device.  What you need to have is an auxiliary cable and a separate electronic device supplying music.  Put one end of the cable in the headphone/output jack of the supply device, and insert the other end into the input jack (microphone jack, or the single jack on some computers˚) and skype will play the music from the supply device to the other person or people on the call with you.  This also stops your mic from operating until you pull out the cord, so you can scream like a banshee, push over buildings, etc. and they wont be able to hear you.  If you have video on, it will continue to stream the video.
    The one unfortunate part about this is the fact that it includes 'manual labor' and you can't just click a few buttons.  To make this work you need to have a spot to plug in the supply device readily available, and be able to jam a cord in within a few seconds.  Also, you have to remember to unplug it once you're done.
    I'd suggest practicing this with a friend to make sure it's working before using it with a client if you operate skype in a business setting.
    ˚=For Mac users with the single port, remember to switch the port from output to input in System Preferences>Sound.  Towards the bottom there should be the statement: Use audio port for: (then either Sound Output or Sound Input).  You want it set on Sound Input for this.
