All Mobile Apps gone from iTunes - Still on mobile devices.

When installing Lion and Cloud the other day the Cloud folks at Apple took me through a laborious provess of changing my Apple ID. Hours on the phone.
For many years my Apple ID has been my everyday email address .... now I was being told I must change it and create a new me.com account. I refused because I already had a me.com account and wanted to use that. This took a bunch of hours on the phone to get my mobile devices cloud synching with my current me.com account rather than having some wild new yet another me.com account and Apple ID. All got in sync finally ... that is my calendars, notes, and contacts.
So, now I acquire an app using iTunes on the computer. All my Apps are now missing in iTunes and the new one is dimmed in iTunes and does not sync to my Mobile device. Obviously, even though Apple said different ID's was OK and.would not affect anything... I believe having 2 Apple ID's is the root of this problem.... maybe not.
My store Mac purchases still, I believe, uses my original ID as does my music. Having to create multiple ID's ts not new. Several years ago when iTunes was relatively new I was asked to create another Apple ID for the iTunes Store and the 2 ID's raised havock placing song purchases here and there... it took months to get that corrected. So, I screamed when told I again had to change my devices to a second, me.com Apple ID... having one for some things another for others. That's a catastrophy waiting to happen... if ever there was one.
So... apps are acquired.... they remain dim in iTunes and all my apps in iTunes are gone. They all remain on my mobile devices.
I will not give up my domain name email address I have used for years and years... and should not have too! I'm sure others want to reatain their domain mane email addresses for daily use as well.

Well I feel like a real idiot because I just realized my problem is that Applications was no longer checked in my Preferences to Show. For some reason the update unchecked it, plus it wants to run the Setup every time I start now.
But at least my Apps are there.

So when you downloaded the free app directly on the iPhone, and then synced with the macbook, iTunes didn't recognize the new app and attempt to transfer it? I'm trying to see where the issue may lie while trying to make sure I understand where the problem is occurring.

I should export my music to another program, because I do also have this MP4, which needs some files. Well, I did that and it seems like Windows Media Player couldn't open the files, but then I go back to iTunes and I see all my files are gone. Nothing is left, and now I can't syncronize files to my iPod Touch without deleting all the existing files. So now the only thing I want to know, if it's possible, is how to import music (not from Apple Store) from my iPod Touch to iTunes?

You can use one of the third-party programs discussed here to transfer non-iTunes purchased music to a computer.

Have you checked to see if the media files are still on the computer? See Empty/corrupt iTunes library after upgrade/crash.

When I did the upgrade it resulted in a factory reset. Now all of my ringtones are gone from iTunes. Anyone have a solution?

When I did the upgrade it resulted in me having to do a factory reset because it was pausing for long periods of time. It went through the backup and all other steps but now all of my ringtones are gone from iTunes, thus the phone. I tried to redownload one I had purchased and it made me purchase it again (I did this as a test), and it said I had purchased it before but still required me to purchase again.
Anyone have a solution/thoughts/help?

Command + Z undoes the last action you did, did you just move those files into that folder?
Use Spotlight to search for the files, or look for them in their original location(s).

there are a number of scenarios to do it.

Make sure you have a full backup of your iPhone before recyncing with the iMac as during this process all data will be wiped out from your iPhone.
Going forward you may want to check icloud which makes life easier.

I have a portable 500gb HD and I use it to put music and other stuff.
Earlier, out of the blue, all of my music from iTunes disappeared, and I tried to put it back by dragging my folder "music" from the external HD to iTunes, but the message "Attempting to copy to the disk Macintosh HD failed. The disk could not be read or written to." appears and nothing happens. Only 40 albums (the same ones every time) go into iTunes before the message appear.
I tried restarting the computer and nothing happened.

This sounds more like a hardware issue, possibly a failing drive if you had mysteriously vanishing files and there are problems writing to your drive.. You could get better support on a forum for your Mac model or at lest one for your operating system version. Have you verified the disk with Disk Utility to see what it reports?

I synced about 50 books to my new ipad air 2. When I click any other books, the sync starts all over again for all books (it shows 51 books syncing). If I abort the sync, all of a sudden, all books are gone from my ipad. I don't know why.

I was very worried losing all my medical stuff on my iPad Air 2, plus i have nothing to use for the next day! So i have to try all the possible things i read on the internet!! And this worked on my part (Thank God, and thank you Google)
Perform a hard reboot
Hold down the Home button and Power button on your iPhone or iPad and keep holding them until you see the Apple logo. Once you do, you can let go. When your device boots back up, go ahead and check to see if the apps have started re-downloading. If they still appear to be stuck, continue on.

Why are all my apps missing in iTunes when I backed everything up to my computer?

I just upgraded to the iPhone 5 and backed everything up as required (iCloud & computer). However, all my apps are gone from iTunes and non of my apps transfered to my iPhone 5. Can someone tell me how to retrieve my all my apps?

Alright, your best bet might to be to use the restore from iCloud option, as it will redownload all the apps from your prior device (definitely make sure you're connected to WiFi when you're attempting to do it so that you don't eat through your data plan).
First you'll want to verify that your old iPhone 4 backup is still in iCloud (you can check from your iPhone 5):
On your Home Screen, tap Settings
Tap iCloud
Tap Storage & Backup
Tap Manage Storage
Select the device you want to manage
You should see a backup for the iPhone 4 if there is one. If you tap on that backup, it will give details such as when it was last backed up and the backup size. You'll just want to know that the last backup was able to complete. If you have the iPhone 4 backup still, then you're good to go.
If you decide to proceed with the restore (definitely your call and not mine), go all the way back out to the first Settings page.
In Settings, tap:
General
Reset
Erase All Content and Settings
How content is restored to a new device
When you go through Setup Assistant on a new device running iOS 5 or later, choose "Restore from iCloud Backup" and enter your iCloud account and password. You will see the three most recent backups for each of the devices on which you enabled Backup. Choose which backup to restore from.
After your device restarts, your settings and accounts are restored and Backup starts downloading your purchased music, movies, TV shows, apps, books, Camera Roll, and other content.
Note: You may be prompted to enter the passwords for all accounts enabled on your device. You may also be prompted to enter the password for for any iTunes, iBookstore and App Store accounts for which iCloud Backup is attempting to restore content.
A progress bar will appear underneath the apps that are being downloaded. To prioritize the restore of a specific app, tap its icon. Restore will attempt to download the same version of the app that you had installed previously. If that version is no longer available, the latest version of the app will be restored.

The operating systems for iOS devices and for Macs are completely different. Applications written for iOS won't run on a Mac no matter what fiddles you try with it. You can sometime extract data by opening the package, but it still won't do you any good. Look in the Mac App Store in your Applications folder to see if there are Mac versions or similar programs (iTunes login required).

My podcast appears to have gone from iTunes

Your podcast does appear to have been removed from the Store: when this happens an email is sent, so it may havew gone missing or been spam-trapped. It's difficult to see what could cause removal - the only thing which occurred to me is that they might have taken exception to the opening music on copyright grounds: it sounds as if you made it yourself - at any rate it's apparently computer generated, not the soundtrack, but of course the music itself is copyright and shouldn't have been used without clearance. I'm assuming that, since the 'explicit' tags are 'clean' that there is no strong or sexual language in the episodes.
It's often difficult to get a response on this subject from the Store staff, but the address to contact them on is podcasts 'at' apple.com - 'getsupport' is unlikely to help since they are geared to the actual application rather than podcast contents.

Synced Apps from iTouch to PC - Apps gone from iTouch

I just purchased an iTouch for my wife and set up some basic apps for her before giving it to her. In iTunes, I synced the apps I purchased with my PC and the apps then disappeared from the iTouch. How do I get these apps back on the iTouch? I see them in the PC on the iTunes page...but see no way to get them back to iTouch.

Were all the apps purchased from the same iTunes account? From your description it sounds like different iTunes accounts are used. Have you tried authorizing the computer for the accounts?
