All movies not listed on Apple TV!

All of my movies are not listed on my Apple TV. Does anyone know why. I am running mavericks on 27 iMac and it is a second gen Apple TV. I am missing approx 6 movies. I see them in iTunes but when is roll through on the Apple TV they are not there. Thanks in advance.

I found the rest of them in home videos. Now how do I move them to movies?

Unfortunately you have taken an Apple product outside of the area where Apple currently does business. There isn't legally a way around this. Apple cannot license apps to you where you currently live.

10.7.5 is the max for your model. Your mac is one model too old to run anything higher.

All pages not listed after mobile me update

When I look under iWeb on my mobile me account, all of my pages are not listed. However, when I go to the sites that forward to those pages they show up. I don't want to republish yet as it may just be a case of the apple servers being slow to finish a complete update.
Any one else with this problem?

I think it's normal — you're not the only one! ...You could try getting more info from MobileMe live chat support, which is now 24/7 — see this announcement.

Movies not showing on Apple TV

Ive been able to get home sharing going btwn my Macbook Air and Apple TV. I can share Photos, TV shows, Podcasts. But cant share Movies that Ive downloaded to my laptop (ie cant see Movies in list shown when I click on 'Computer' icon in Apple TV).
Should this happen automatically when I rent or purchase a movie from iTunes and download to my laptop, or is there something I have do?

Many thanks for this. 'Whole library' was checked. The problem was - I think - that the movie had not yet downloaded (or most of it hadn't). Once it was downloaded, I was able to link to Apple TV and view.
Im writing from Australia where time taken for downloading movies (which is v slow) makes similtaneous viewing - either directly on Apple TV or through computer - is virtually impossible without screen freezing, spinning daisy wheel, etc etc. So one has to plan ahead. Downloading the day before viewing is the only problem-free option.

I've renetd a movie in from itunes and it's in "rentals" in Itunes on my computer. It does not appear in my library on apple tv despite the fact that my music and photos do. What am I doing wrong? Movies rented directly through apple tv work fine but because of my internet connection I want to rent them in itunes and watch them later on the TV

Thanks for the info. Youre right! I didn't realise my broadband connection had dropped out and the download had stopped. I'm on BB using a wireless modem as adsl and cable aren't available where I live. According to Apple this form of BB connection is the most unreliable for large downloads! wish I'd known before I bought the apple TV gadget.

Rented movie not present on Apple TV list

Just hooked up a new Apple TV yesterday. Downloaded a rented movie last night. When going to my library on the Apple TV, the movie is not present for selection. Went back to PC and movie plays fine there but in no way can I find how to get it to appear on the Apple TV. It doesn't even show the rented movie in the library list. I also have a number of home video's taken in MPEG4 that for whatever reason only one showed up in the Apple TV, library list and would play. I'm am not very PC adept and this is really bugging me. Either have to figure out what I'm doing wrong or decide to return unit before time runs out. I am running XP with SPII. I also have a ton of older home video taken in earlier format. Would I be smart to upgrade QT to "PRO" ? Any help would be greatly appreciated. ........... Hank G.

I've owned Apple PC's and devices since the original Macintosh, and have been a devoted and richly rewarded Apple stock owner since the late 90's. I still am an Apple devotee.
However, they messed up on this Apple TV and movie rental deal in a surprising manner.
Many of us buy Apple products for their simplicity of use, reliability, and beautiful design. It seems quite unlike them to have not adequately communicated this particular glitch (some of you more wonkish types enjoy browsing stuff that I, fortunately, only have to browse in the rare case of a problem such as this one).
Why would anyone have to research whether or not the Apple TV does what Apple says it does? They just DO what they say they will do, ... normally. In this case, they'll do it about two weeks or so after the release of the marketing materials and product.
This is not a failure of the consumers. Don't throw a vertebra out defending this mistake - it's not defensible. But it's also a mistake that will go away shortly.

"Memory Overview" not listed in Apple System Profiler

I have a beige G3 minitower running OS 10.2.6 that currently has 192 MB RAM. I am set to get more RAM for this machine, but I noticed that my Apple System Profiler doesn't even have a Memory Overview category showing what RAM is presently in which slot. (I'm used to seeing that in OS 9.2) In other words, I see the software, hardware, network, and production information overviews in the System Profile tab but not the Memory overview. (I get the 192 MB when I choose About This Mac from the Apple menu.) Did Apple discontinue the Memory Overview feature with Jaguar? Or is there some Preference or View I need to set? (The Preferences command is greyed out on the Apple System Profiler menu)It just seems strange to me that I can't get specific info on the currently installed RAM

What I listed, is what is in the left column of System Profiler, when all of the Disclosure Triangles are clicked, and pointing down.
I then click on Memory, to highlight it, and on the right side of the Profiler,
my Memory Slots are displayed.

SUID Permission Issues not Listed on Apple's Site

Hey, I have more SUID warnings than listen on apple's site...

It is saying they are modified and will not be repaired. Some of the ones I have are listed, most are not. Is this a concern? I read on another mac forum that "all SUID warnings are not created equal" meaning some you should be concerned about, some not.

The SUID warnings in Leopard have so far meant that the installdb was not properly updated. You need to check whether this is the issue. I'll show you how with the load_webdav as an example. Open the Terminal application and check the installdb with this command:
pkgutil --file-info /System/Library/Extensions/webdavfs.kext/Contents/Resources/loadwebdav
Look for the mode. It should read: mode: 104755. If the mode is correct then the sha1 digest was not properly recorded in the installdb. Check the sha1 digest for the current file installed with this command:
/usr/bin/openssl sha1 /System/Library/Extensions/webdavfs.kext/Contents/Resources/loadwebdav
Is it different? You'll see the sha1 digest recorded in the installdb from the pkgutil commmand.
If so then let's look at the bill of material files and see if the checksum is correct. First you use this command to consult the bom files. The last column in the output is the checksum:
for i in $(ls -1 /Library/Receipts/boms/); do echo $i;lsbom /Library/Receipts/boms/"$i" | grep load_webdav; done
Now check the checksum for the current installed file with the command:
cksum /System/Library/Extensions/webdavfs.kext/Contents/Resources/loadwebdav
Is the checksum the same. If so then it is safe to assume that the installdb was not properly updated. I would also check every other file that produced a warning message.

Movies not listed when syncing iPad

My movies do not appear in the Movies tab when I sync my iPad. I have no control over what movies to sync. It just asks if I want to sync All, or a drop down list of options. How do I fix this?

I am having a problem that iTunes says that the movies have sync'd, but when I try to open the movie on the iPad, it doesn't list any (as a matter of fact, it doesn't even list a "movie" tab in the video app).
If I do a reset of the iPad, they reappear. However, after another sync, they disappear again...along with music, purchases, and other items.
I have everything set to "manual" (as opposed to automatic sync...and, again, when I click on the iPad in iTunes, it shows everything on the iPad...they just don't seem to appear in the actual iPad.

Mp4 movie not compatible with Apple TV

My ATV will not allow me to synch an MP4 movie Chef to the ATV as it says it is not compatible, yet I can watch the same movie in iTunes. It is the 160gb ATV

Movie not listed in Movies but is in Recently Added.

I added a movie into my iTunes but it didn't show in the movies tab, but showed in the recently added.
Any ideas?

OK... I've figured out a fix somehow. This is what I did:
a) double clicked on the Recently Added playlist so that it opens up in its own window.
b) in the main library window, I selected the movies folder.
c) dragged the movies one by one from Recently Added into the Movies folder.
d) they now all appear in Movies.
e) need to make sure the Video Kind is Movies prior to doing this.
I tried a bunch of different things including reimporting. File menu import, double clicking the files. They were clearly imported, but did not appear in the Movies folder.

Configure restrictions not listed in Apple Configurator?

I work in a school to deploy iPads to be used by 11-16 year olds. Apple configurator seemed like the tool to use, and indeed has proven invaluable in setting up the iPads and deploying applications.
The Apple Configurator has a section where you can define restrictions, which is useful to stop improper use.
However not all restrictions available in iOS are configurable here. Users can even completely reset the iPad.
Is there a method to mass configure these restrictions, or am I out of luck?

Movies not appearing in Apple TV

I just setup my apple tv2. everything running ok - photos - music - netflix - flickr - iphone remote.
but in the "Movies" column, I don't see any of the Movies (in Apple TV format) that are in my iTunes library on my iMac.
ideas?

right click on the movie in itunes and choose convert to appletv format
or do it manually with a program like handbrake
