All music in iTunes not transfering to iPod

I have plenty of room in my ipod for my entire library. But for some reason when I got my new iPod only 2-3 songs from random albums copied. That is correct only parts of the album copied. And in some instances a few whole albums by the same artists didn't copy. I have 11 FZ albums...only 3 copied to the iPod. Might anyone have any suggestions?

I just went through and tried both updating and authorizing my computer to play the music. I have the most recent version, and even after authorizing my computer nothing has changed.
If this helps, even on the iTunes screen, while the music files show up in the iTunes part of the library, the smart lists are empty of the same music files under the iPod listing.
Thanks for the help, perhaps you can provide more?

  • Music in iTunes not transferring to iPod

The music in my iTunes library isn't transferring to my iPod. The smart playlist titles are on my iPod, but the music itself isn't going over there. How so I tansfer it over manually since the automatic iTunes-to-iPod updates aren't doing it?
    Thanks for any help.

  • Purchased music from itunes not transferring

I have some music I purchased from itunes on my computer but it won't go onto to ipod touch, it says I am not authorised??? How do I make it so I am authorised??? They went on my old ipod without any problems, are you only allowed to put them on one ipod?
Thank you in advance for any answers

You would have to copy the music to a computer that is supported and sync it from there.

  • All songs in iTunes not syncing with ipod

i have a bunch of songs that i've ripped / downloaded in my itunes account that no matter what i do i can't get it to sync with my ipod...i ripped the cd and it plays fine in itunes but when i look for the songs on my ipod there's only 3 off of the entire cd...any help???

re download the cd and make sure you put them in your library then make a playlist and try to highlight and drag over to your ipod. Also make sure you have the latest version of itunes and quicktime. This should work.

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Unsync all music and resync
    - Reset all settings

  • Why can't i add playlists to my iPhone from my mac while they are connected? I keep getting the following message "some items (meaning all of them) were not transferred because iTunes match is enabled." This is incredibly frustrating.

I keep getting the following message "some items (meaning all of them) were not transferred because iTunes match is enabled." when I try to drag and drop a playlist, song, or album to my iPhone. This was NEVER a problem before iTunes match or the last iOS update. So what is the deal? Why can't i just add music to my phone from the mac? There is space on the phone. The only way I have found to get the music i want to the phone is to have it download from the phone. This is not something i want to have to do: go through and manually add every album and recreate a playlist on the phone when its there on the mac. And, even more irritating, since the new update, when the phone is plugged into the mac i can't actually view from the mac what music is on the phone. This is incredibly frustrating and any help would be much appreciated in managing my music libraries for each device.

    Hi,
You cannot manually manage music with match turned on on your iOS device. If you want to manage music manually, you will need to turn off match on your iPhone.

  • Deleted all music in itunes upgrading to 7.0.6.29; how do i get it back?

i recently ugraded itunes 7.0.6.29 and managed to (accidently) delete all music in itunes. i am now having to go into all my music, folder by folder, to import the files back into itunes. 3500 done, 5000 to go. AArrrgh. any ideas how to do it faster? i would like to get the playlists back that i ahve on my ipod but i dare not try to sync it in case it wipes the ipod as well. this idiot would appreciate any help he can get.

If your iPod is set to update automatically you just need to take care connecting to a changed iTunes. You can use a keyboard command to prevent your iPod auto-syncing with iTunes. While connecting the iPod to the computer on Windows with iTunes 7.3 or later installed hold down the Shift + Ctrl keys together. This will stop the iPod from auto-syncing with iTunes and the iPod will appear in the source list. Wait until you are sure the iPod has mounted, and that it will not auto sync and then you can let the keys go. This may take between 20 to 30 seconds depending on your computer: iTunes - Keyboard Shortcuts for Windows
When your iPod appears in the iTunes source list change the update setting to manual, that way you can continue to use your iPod without the risk of accidentally erasing it until you can restore your songs and playlists: Managing content manually on iPod
There are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and clone playlists from your iPod. Have a look at this one for instance: iPod Access Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)

  • Restoring all music on iTunes

My PC crashed and I needed to wipe out all memory, including all music on iTunes, to install new Windows, etc.. I've reloaded iTunes, and thought synching with my iPod would mean I get all music back onto the iTunes program on my PC.  It went thorugh (except for playlists).  Now, when I attempt to synch again, it gives me a message that my music is from a different library - meaning I have to wipe all songs on the iPod.  How can I successfully ensure that ALL songs (purchased from iTunes store and uploaded off CDs) currently on both my iTunes and Ipod will be preserved? I'm concerned that I will lose all the "other" (not purchased through iTunes store) when I do this.
I know Apple's policies are strict, but this has to have happened to others.  You are enticed to use iTunes as your MP3 platform, so you load everything - iTune store purchases and uploaded music from CDs.  Then the computer crashes and all you have as backup is your iPod.  I would think iTunes would recognize your account and accept a resynch of all music (and lists).
Any help for this 55+ guy is appreciated.

  • Why does my artwork disappear from my ipod?   It's all visible in itunes, but on the ipod nano it disappears.

Why does my artwork keep disappearing from my ipod?   It's all visible in itunes, but on the ipod nano it when I copy over new albums with artwork, the artwork on the albums already on the ipod lose theirs, although they retain the artwork if viewed through itunes.
In case it matters, I don't "sync" my "library".  I have a I have a PC and copy over directories containing albums of MP3 files by dragging them onto the ipod with itunes.  I also tried pulling over only the files and not the directories.

OK, so I decided that maybe if I "sync" my iPod instead of just copying stuff to it at will, that maybe it would fix the problem.  I did a "restore", wiping out the contents.  I set up a "playlist", and put everything that I wanted on the iPod into the "playlist".   Then I "synced" the "playlist" onto the iPod.  Every song and album now had the proper album art.  I could live with this.   Then I added another album to the "playlist", and "synced".  The new album was now on the iPod with the correct artwork.  The albums that were already on the iPod now either had their appropriate artwork, no artwork, or the artwork from the other albums that were already on the iPod, with no rhyme or reason as to which was which.  AARGH.   I wiped it out and re-added the now-explanded "playlist" and "synced" again, and every album had the right cover.   I guess the only thing to do is completely replace the contents of the iPod any time I want to add or change anything, or forget about artwork.

    Hi sarahdavis0_o,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!

  • ITunes not recognizing original IPod touch after new one installed

I tried to set up new IPod touch but itunes wouldn't recognize it. Downloaded latest version of itunes. Was able to set up new IPod touch but now old touch not being recognized by itunes. Went through the troubleshooting guide with no positive results. Old (unreconized) touch is fully charged. Restarted computer. Restarted itunes. Changes usb ports. Nothing working. Any ideas?

    Hi Jim,
Thank you for your reply to my posting about iTunes not recognizing my iPod Touch after upgrading to Leopard.
iPods & Finder. Some other postings incorrectly lead me to believe that the iPod would show up in the "Finder". Thanks for setting me straight on this.
iTunes Not Recognizing iPod Touch. Prior to your posting, I had already read the article you referenced (to remove and reinstall the Apple Mobile Device Service per article "http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1747").
Prior to your posting, I had also read other articles in various "Apple Discussions" (forums) that suggested this recognition problem could be resolved by uninstalling/re-installing iTunes 8.0.2. Some implied that you could just re-install iTunes 8.0.2 right over the currently installed one without bothering to uninstall it.
Based on those postings, I "gambled" last night and simply downloaded and re-installed iTunes 8.0.2 (without uninstalling it first). I noticed during the installation that the Apple Mobile Device agent you referenced was also re-installed. Well, my gamble paid off! After the installation (and a reboot?), iTunes onces again RECOGNIZED my iPod Touch.

i had a problem with my iphone and had to restore and now i have lost all music from itunes any way to get it back ?

It should ne in itunes on your computer and included in your regular backup of your computer.
If for some reason you have failed to backup your music, then - in the U.S only - you can get previous itunes purchases from the beta version of icloud.  Open itunes store, click Purchased, under Quick Links.
