All music on ipod Deleted?!?!?!?!

I've only had this thing for 3 months and i puged it in just a few hours ago to add a playlist and then it said"not all music will fit" and then it made a playlist to fit most of the music. But the music it put on there i didn't want all of it so i deleted the playlist to make a new one and now it says "Songs on the ipod cannot be updated because all of the playlists selected for syncing no longer exist"
So what i did was i went to the MUSIC tab and checked the box that said Sync all songs and playlists after i deleted about 20 of my songs. AND it won't work still! I tried to reset it but that didn't work. PLEASE HELP!

Well when the summary page ppped up the error box came up and i VERY quickly clicked ok and then went to music and clicked on sync all and now it's doing it. It's a ll about racing time i guess?

from what i understand, the procecess is similar on both mac and pc, so i'll try help you here. have you set your preferences to "automatically update all"?

if this isn't working, maybe try moving one that you are certain is in the correct format, manually. import it from scratch to your itunes, and then copy it to the ipod.
If i click 'import files' the only files it comes up with are text file. Should it be doing this?' So the only files i can import are written documents :/
If i select 'add files' it dosnt add them to my libary at all.
I tryed what you said, i deleted my movies then loaded one into my libary which i no is in the right format but it still said that it is unable to put into my ipod.

I also met this issue a few days ago and I finally find out how to transfer music from iPod to computer:
1. Plug your iPod in and wait for the computer to recognize it.
2. Open up 'My Computer' and under 'Devices With Removable Storage', double click and open apple iPod.
3. Click on 'Tools' at the top of the window and drag down to 'Folder Options'.
4. Under the 'View' tab, find the subfolder called 'Hidden files and folders'.
5. Select the option 'Show hidden files and folders'.
6. Click 'OK'.

Connect the iPod and sync with iTunes the same way that you sync any iDevice with iTunes. If you are trying to transfer the music on the iPod into iTunes on the computer - connect the iPod to your computer and launch iTunes. Welcome to the Support Communities! One way to delete all of the music off of your iPod classic is to restore it to factory settings. The resource below will explain how.

How to restore iPod
Verify that you have an active Internet connection, because you may need to download new versions of the iTunes and iPod Software.

After a few moments, your iPod will appear in the Source panel in iTunes.

Note: The progress bar may be difficult to see, because the backlight on the iPod display may be off.
After stage two of the restore process is complete, the iTunes Setup Assistant window will appear. It will ask you to name your iPod and choose your syncing preferences, as it did when you connected your iPod for the first time.

ITunes just del-synced all music on IPod :(

Due to the fact that I use another program to put music on my Ipod (Anapod Explorer) I am not using Itunes to manage my mp3 collection on the Ipod. However, I think Itunes is very suitable to manage my pod/vodcasts. I just synced my movies and podcasts > and Itunes just deleted all music while the checkbox for "Synchronise music" was (and still is) unchecked.. Sigh... All my music is gone... Thanks Itunes..

it could be that you put it in another folder so itunes can't find it an because of this can't sync it.

Ipod 5 wasn't updating new playlists. Removed all music from iPod and ended up with 34 GB of OTHER. How do I remove this without doing a full restore?

iPod 5 was not adding new playlists when synching (plenty of space remained in memory for it). This happened around the time of the new update. I removed all music from the iPod and when I went to resync the selected playlists, my OTHER portion of memory jumped up to 34GB and now there is not enough space on the iPod to put all my music back on.
I've checked the usage of all the apps and photos, etc, it is pretty clear this is because of the music portion only.
Is there anyway of removing this information? Without doing a restore? It is not jailbroken either.

An "other" larger than about 1 1/2 GB indicates corrupted files.

Next, usually restoring from backup eliminated the corrupted files. However, sometimes restoring to factory settings/new iPod is required.

This will not erase the music on your iPod, but the next time you connect iTunes will act like it's the first time that you have connected the iPod and you'll have to do all of your sync preferences again. Is this part of troubleshooting?

get winamp (free download) it will allow you to download your ipod music back into your PC.. also will allow you to add to ipod without sync to itunes that way you can keep you pc cleaner and just new songs without taking up all the space..important when you have a 60gb ipod and don't want to use your pc as the replicate of the ipod...

The only way to get it fixed is to contact the carrier to whom the phone is locked. You will need to find out:
1) IF the carrier offers unlocking. Not all carriers do

Deleted playlist that updates ipod-- lost all music on ipod

like an idiot-- i accidentally deleted the playlist that is used to update the songs on my nano. so now whenever i connect my nano to update it theres a msg that says something like "cannot update ipod, the playlist used to update has been deleted." i still have the songs on my itunes but i cant get them on my ipod.. what do i do?!??!
